The food here, from our single experience, was good. We started with some truly delightful oysters on the half shell. We ordered and shared king crab, snow crab, lobster and shrimp. All were naughty buttery messy good! King is not worth the extra money, effort or pain in my opinion. Consider wearing rubber gloves if you have sensitive skin or a cut on your finger - the salt and lime burn. There are hand washing stations throughout. The shrimp are a bit difficult to peel and are served whole with head and legs so that can get a bit real. The combo sauce was a bit too salty even for this salt lover. Spice level was more than expected for mild. I'll try the plain butter next time. Yelp says this restaurant has a classy trendy ambiance. WRONG. They're talking about some other restaurant with nice decor, lighting, tablecloths and fine china. This place is all noisy hard surfaces, bright light and DISPOSABLE PLASTIC everything! The food is even served in plastic bags! Maybe I'm old fashioned but for the money spent, the presentation in my opinion was awful - not to mention the environmental damage. All that PLASTIC is so 20th century. People obviously love the food at this place, hence the horrendous wait times you've read about in other reviews. Honestly so disappointed me and my sister go to boiling crab all the time in Alhambra but cause we didn't want to do the 46min drive we chose to eat here... we ordered and pound of crab we did not get a pound we got way less than a pound and yeah sometimes they give you less than a pound but this was waaaaay less. The shrimp was either too old or was overcooked, called and spoke with Alfredo the manager (took me asking twice for his name so he could have made it up) who kept passing me off to the third party delivery to address my issue. Wasn't aware Grubhub cooked my food, and since I had an issue with my food and not driver, I'd say he can do better than to tell me that I "have to understand" that he can't do anyyyything. A great spot to get messy and satisfy your seafood itch. Don't forget the bib! My favorite is the whole shebang king crab bag - beautifully succulent meat you only have to work (a little) to dislodge. Have some fried oysters while you wait (and you will wait, each step of the process, during busy times) - these finish like a saltwater boneless chicken wing. I've been here a few times and I've yet to have a complaint. The servers are always very thorough with my order. They've always explained the different levels of spiciness. The last time I was contemplating on getting their spiciest level, but I wasn't sure... so the server suggested I get a side of it instead and did it on the house. That was really nice of her. The entire order was brought out exactly as we asked, even down to the lime in my Corona. Lol We ordered 2lbs or Shrimp, 2lbs of Crawfish (Seasonal), 1lb of Clams, and Cajun Fries! This is the first time I've eaten seafood here in Burbank and if I'm to be honest, it wasn't all amazing but I liked it nonetheless. I'm originally from San Diego so I had high expectations for place. I had shrimp and clams with corn and sweet potato fries on the side. I believe the sauce we got was some type of garlic sauce. Either way, it was good. The service was great however! I was with five plus people when I dined here. Our waitress handled each individual person in our party very well and I only had to wait for a few minutes for our food. The only downside is that they ran out of oysters, crawfish, and dungeness crab. Other than that, it was an interesting experience. read more

Sometimes the hype does not reflect reality... I have been to the Boiling crab in Koreatown many years ago, so I knew exactly what to expect. What I got was just under the standards I had hoped for. Food was just all right for me, my orders were average but my wife had soup that was cold and shrimp that were luke warm. I personally love coming here it is one of my favorite places to eat seafood other than San Pedro seafood. I tried their whole shabang and it was the best thing I've ever tasted I keep coming back here. If It is your first time stay away from so much garlic that they serve it will get you bloated and it will flush your entire digestive system so if you're planning to eat whole shabang go straight home. And I hope you live close by. Other than that the Cajun seasoning is perfectly fine. We also get lemon pepper seasoned fries and they're pretty delicious. This is my first time trying boiling crab and I'd like to think I'm a very patient and understanding person but when I went inside it was very hot I wanted somewhere to sit down and cool off but it was either sitting outside or a 45 min wait and I don't mind since we were very hungry so we decided to sit outside there no fans around in this hot day the service was okay I know they were just doing their job but it took an hour and a half to wait for our food they delivered most of our drinks and rice all late which the rice was all cold and the drinks were melting by the time we got it and everytime we asked for something we had to wait so long until we got it like it's so hot outside the fact we were sitting in the hot sun in a 90degree HEAT! And you couldn't comply with our drinks on time it's kinda cruel don't you think? After our hour and half wait we got our food and we see there was barley any juice on our seafood boil and doesn't everyone want enough juice on a bowl of rice that we're paying so we asked them nicely and asked if we can just get another scoop or so of more juice the manager or whoever it was that was giving such attitude said "that is just how we make it if you want more we sell it for 4 dollars", like what?!! Crazy how you want us to spent another 4 DOLLARS on food that's already like 100bucks I just wanted some extra juice for my rice and your asking me yo pay another 4 DOLLARS for juice. RIDICULOUS! The service here is just horrible. It was extremely hot outside and they have no fans. My food took over an hour to get. When it arrived the shrimp was over cooked, rice was cold, food was dry, and really lacked flavor. i asked a worker if i could get some limes and i proceeded to wait another 10 minutes. At this point my food is even more dry and it's getting cold. He even tossed the limes onto my table very aggressively. I then ask for a bit more sauce into my food since it barely had any. He then tells me it's an additional $4 if i want sauce on the side. This is ridiculous why should i pay extra for food that's made awfully. I'm sure he was the manager too bc he was being extremely rude and egotistical. He told me that he could just take the food back and i could leave if i wasn't happy with the service. The food came out pretty quickly. Prices are reasonable for seafood and the theme of the restaurant. The wait was fair because the was a huge crowd. They are very accommodating and give you whatever you request. The only thing is that once your food is out, the servers disappear and don't really check up on you until you're done. This place is one of my favorite seafood restaurants in town. I was so excited to see that it opened, that meant we wouldn't have to drive to Alhambra to eat here. Especially since the crab place by our house closed down. The atmosphere is perfect for families with kids. The prices are decent and the food is delicious. We had the fried calamari, it was great. Soft but not chewy breaking was perfect. It came with a delicious cocktail sauce. I had the southern king crab legs and shrimp, in lemon pepper and garlic sauce mild. Both were cooked perfect. Ordered the fried catfish basket and the corn on the cob on my first order. The corn on the cob was so good I spent months trying to replicate it at home. I'm just so crazy about delicious corn on the cob. The fried catfish was fantastic too. On my second order I ordered the gumbo with rice, shrimp, and cajun fries. Through your dinner the waitress was only paying attention to one person in the table and didn't even ask my girlfriend or brother the whole time we where there they where only talking to me. Update 04/13/19 this location has been open a while now and I thought they had it together judging by the one time I went last month and had some of the best boiled snow crab legs I've had in a very long time! But tonight I went back hoping for the same foodgasm and was disappointed.. yet again.. my snow crab legs were ICE COLD once I cracked it open which I wasn't too surprised bc the bag was luke warm to begin with. After the almost 2 hour wait on a Saturday I was really annoyed my food wasn't right bc I waited so long. And they had forgotten my potatoes. My bf had already gotten his fried crab basket way before me. (They have a habit of bringing out all your food separately at different times. For instance if you order wings and fries .. the fries will come out then 15 min later the wings will come out. But I think a lot of these types of restaurants do that and They should not.) anyway , the manager was called over and he sighed and rolled his eyes as if to get annoyed that at the end of the night he has yet another complaint to deal with. They were quick to replace my crab legs and sides but the 2nd time the tails of the legs were all cold. At this point I'm thinking.. this is beyonnnd me! Especially after we were already given a "last call" for food or alcohol literally 15 min after we were seated. I didn't bother taking it back. Just ate the "hot" parts of the crab leg and took the rest home to nuke later. The sausage, rice, and corn - very good. My bf liked his fried crab but didn't think the amount was worth the price and felt they were a little gritty. Every time I visit CA I have to eat here, crawfish in season or not. I mean 'have to'! I crave the whole sha-bang seasoning on the crawfish. This will always be my favorite seafood place!! I enjoy their style of preparing seafood, the wide range of options and the delicious sauces. I always get the whole shabang (it is like a combination of their garlic based sauce, Cajun and lemon pepper sauce). They have everything under the sea from frozen and fresh crawfish, king, snow and blue crab legs, shrimp with the heads on it, mussels, fresh oysters and more. There is street parking for 2 hours until 6 pm and also a free parking structure off of 1st street and connects right to the plaza. I like this location because it is perfect for dates, girls night out, friends etc. All of my favorite shops are located in this plaza off of Palm Avenue: Yogurtland, Arclight Movie Theater, and The Boiling Crab and Buffalo Wild Wings. This location has the yelp feature where you can add your name to the wait list, unlike the Korea town location. So I added me and my guest to the wait list which prompted between 5-10 mins. We walked in and walked straight to a table wooohooo, VIP status, not really but not many know about the yelp wait list. Every location is always pretty busy so it's a normal thing, I don't believe there is a window from open to close that they're not busy. They have tons of TVs with various sports, but it doesn't give that sports bar feel where it's super nosey and a bunch of yelling men. They also have an outdoor patio which is nice on a sunny day. I prefer to sit inside when restaurants are in a high foot traffic area, because I don't like people staring or watching me eat. We were greeted by the sweetest waiter and he told us about the Margarita special and beer selection. I went simple with water and lime, and my friend grabbed a Corona and lime. We already knew what we wanted so once he returned with our beverages we ordered. My friend got the fried shrimp basket with lemon pepper fries, yeses lemon pepper fries, I don't know who came up with this taste of heaven but goooood job. Ok, back to my greedy order, I got a 1/lb of snow crab legs and 1/lb of shrimp with the whole shabang sauce and a mild spice level. Items like the crab legs, mussels, lobster, etc they sell at market price so the price varies per pound. The shrimp pretty much stays consistent of a $11-14/lb charge and comes out to about 15-20 pieces of shrimp. And with my 1 pound of crab legs, I got about 4 and a half legs worth of meat. The taste and freshness are always consistent and I appreciate that! The shrimp is always cooked perfectly. I'm not sure if they toss the shrimp in the sauce with the skillet or if it's boiled together, but I appreciate never having a burnt taste throughout the sauce. This location also has a hand wash station that is on the floor with the tables, which makes life a thousand percent better than having to open a bathroom door with your elbows. The only thing I would complain about is that you usually have to wait 2-3 hours just to eat:( You definitely need to get there early or put down your name & hang around a bit. There's also not a guarantee you will be seated before they close which I think they shouldn't allow people to be on the waiting list if there's a chance you will not be eating.
