I absolutely love Kickin' Crab. It is hands down my favorite shrimp boil spot. Their sauce is so buttery and flavorful, and they are always consistent. Every visit hits the same. My go-to order never changes because it never disappoints. I always get the calamari, garlic noodles, sweet potato fries, wings, and of course a shrimp boil bag. Everything comes out hot, well seasoned, and so satisfying. The service is another reason I keep coming back. Our server, Leanne, is the best. She is so sweet, friendly, and attentive, which really makes the experience even better. If the food wasn't amazing I would have docked them a point for forgetting about my drinks but I know they were trying to provide great service and just were busy. Kickin combo #2 with medium kickin sauce (1.5 pounds snow crab legs, clams, headless shrimp, mussels, sausage, corn, potatoes) with a side of Cajun fries... perfection! Was enough food for 3 people and leftovers. Bursting with flavor I swear. The shrimp and sausage might have been the standouts for me because I prefer king crab over snow. But altogether outstanding. I did get the Dungeness crab, but was a little disappointed because it wasn't fresh so the meat was a little hard to get out. The sauce is very good though. Omg I haven't been to a seafood boil in so long but this hit the spot! I got the garlic shrimp noodles and the seafood boil (medium spicy) with corn, sausage, and potatoes. I recommend getting all of the above!! I definitely recommend getting medium spicy as it adds the perfect amount of kick. Come here hungry and you'll fill up easily with all the seafood. 10/10 one of the best seafood boils in LA. Amazing food, great service, always checked up on us, and even got our plates and utensils ready as we sat. I wouldn't use the bathroom though. It was kind of a disaster in there. I definitely reccomend the combo deal. It's worth every single penny. I got the lobster with 2 shrimps, and two snow crabs on the side. We even got garlic butter on the side, and that was a whole different experience. It was so good, thick and creamy, not your ordinary garlic butter sauce. The lobster was huge! Lots of meat on it. The shrimps were perfectly cooked. The kickin special was perfectly seasoned. Not salty at all. The Snowcrab clusters were huge, plenty of meat, sweet and very juicy. The only criticism I would give is that the snow crab needs scissors to cut open to get the meat like other seafood boil places provide. The calamari is a must try if you love calamari. This place is legit! I ordered a pound of headless shrimp, with the kickin style sauce (highly recommend!), medium heat with sides of potatoes, a cob of corn, and a side of rice. Boy, was it filling and I had some to take home! Thankful for the gloves and bib. It's probably heretical, but I wish the corn cob wasn't so soft/waterlogged (although the flavor was delish), and it came with more than 3 small potatoes. The guy working was super helpful with all our menu questions and even managed to upsell me after triple reassuring that the snow crab portions weren't stingy--he was absolutely right. The portions were generous and so worth it! My boyfriend ordered a pasta he loved, and the calamari was so good we ended up getting two servings. I love a good seafood boil every so often. Glad The Kickin' Crab didn't disappoint. We got Combo #1 & chose 1 lb frozen Crawfish, 2 lbs Mussels with Mild Kickin' Sauce. The seafood tasted fresh & yummy. It normally comes with 2 corns, 3 potatoes & 4 sausages. We don't care for the sausage & we're able to sub the sausages with 1 more potato lol. The mild sauce was much spicier than expected, but still good. I also got a side of Medium sauce for $3.50. It came in a pretty small container, not worth the price. Our total came out to about $70. An oldie but definitely a goodie! I think this place is almost as good as Boiling Crab. It's my second time eating at The Kickin' Crab, but first time at the Sunset location and my dad and I were both so satisfied and happy. We shared the Kickin' Combo Deal #1 which was a choice 3 from the following: Clams (1 lb), Shrimp (1 lb), Crawfish (1 lb) , Mussels (1 lb) and Includes: 2 corns, 2 potatoes, and 4 pieces of sausages. We did 1 lb each of the clams, shrimp, and crawfish and felt like it was the PERFECT amount for two hungry adults. For sauce, we got the House seasoning in medium and it was the closest to the Full Shebang from Boiling Crab if that's your style. read more

The stars are because of the employees and the seafood; both amazing! You get a good value when you order, they offer different options for different people. I came to eat by myself and so I ordered 1lb of crawfish, 1lb of clam, and 1lb of shrimp with the head on and it came out to roughly $70 or so (not including the tip). With that being said, their appetizer and drink selection is extremely limited. They don't offer much other than fountain drinks and also don't have some of the og appetizers you would expect at a seafood boil spot. It's okay though. If you don't care about those things then stop by for sure, because their seasoning is actually really good. I will say the inside itself is a little crammed though and it's as messy as can be. They have stuff laid out all over the place; inventory, bags, and so on. I'm not necessarily blaming anyone for that but for the amount of business they seem to get, I would suggest either leasing a bigger space or even creating some storage to hide all the extra stuff. The seating is a little too close to each other and I feel like if you have a bigger party, you may not be comfortably seated. And as I mentioned earlier, the employees were amazing. They were very helpful, super quick to bring out the food, and offered refills throughout my whole visit. Simply great! read more

Today I bought two orders or fish tacos and one order of shrimp tacos. Only to receive fish taco with a tiny bite size patty square shape like a sponge. Disappointing, not to mention the shrimp tacos each had two tiny shrimp, like the smallest shrimp. The tortila was the meal, the shrimp had to be a garnish! Tried this place out again. Came here at 730pm instead of 830pm. They have a big sign that says "no more dine in" when they clearly close at 10pm. Some people got turned away others were allowed in. Kicking crab is by far the best Cajun shrimp place I've tried. But I wouldn't recommend this location I drove an hour since it's the closest for me Got there an hour and 15mins before closing. There was two table available. And still didn't want to sit a party of ONLY 2. I still placed an order to go since I did the drive. Waiting for my order and it still 45 mins before close and place basically empty Only two table are taken up with a party of two on each. Kickin' Crab is super tasty. Compared to Boiling Crab, the garlic is super strong and flavorful. I don't think it's as spicy as Boiling Crab, but the taste more than makes up for it. Service wise - they only had one person working so I think they are understaffed, but this was also on a weekday night. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and has enough room for eating. This is a 5/5 IMO and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys seafood boil. read more

The first time i ended up calling and the sweet host got to the bottom of why my order kept canceling. Call again per usual and the host working disregards my point (explaining that there's a bug on their end.)
