Let me be very clear the only reason this isn't a 1-star review is because of our server Katie. She was genuinely kind, attentive, and did her job exceptionally well. Everything else specifically the management was unacceptable. I am a regular loyal customer, and this is the first time I've had an experience like this. I ordered extra juice and was given a cup that was less than half filled. I was told it was still the "correct" 8oz portion but if that's the case, why serve it in a cup that looks empty? I've been coming here regularly and my cup has always been filled up all the way so this explanation didn't make sense and felt misleading. What made it worse was how it was handled. The manager Steven showed a lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service. Instead of resolving the issue or even acknowledging the concern the response felt dismissive. At the end of the day, customers should feel heard and respected. The saying "the customer is always right" exists for a reason. it's about trust, service, and making things right when something doesn't feel right to the person paying. Steven definitely needs to be retrained. If the standard has changed, then be transparent use appropriately sized cups so customers aren't left feeling shorted. It's not just about the amount, it's about honesty and presentation. As someone with management experience, I know this is not how you handle loyal customers. Owners should be aware management like this directly impacts customer trust and retention. One poor leader can undo the hard work of an entire team, including great servers like Katie. I will return because of the service staff, but if this is how management continues to operate, it will drive regular customers away. This needs to be addressed. read more

Our waitress was really kind and checked in on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. We ordered a pound and a half of shrimp and added sausage, potatoes, and corn, everything was super tasty, fresh, and full of flavor. You could tell it was cooked perfectly and came out steaming. So disappointed with the quality lately. My family and I are loyal to Boiling Crab and probably get it once a month. We usually bring it back home because the wait times are extremely long everyday. I ordered on Thursday and got 3 pounds of shrimp and a side order of cajun fries. When we got home, we immediately dug in. Unfortunately, the shrimp were mushy and stuck to the shell. This didn't go for all of the shrimp, maybe just a pound of it. We went on a Sunday afternoon. Once we sat our server came immediately and we ordered our drinks and our food. We got king crab let's ( oh yeah we splurged ) and 1lb of shrimp the whole shabang mild for both. Food came out within 15 minutes and it was delicious. I also loved all the sports game on the tv's. How much do I love the Boiling Crab? Enough to join their new rewards program lol Been to this location several times but today was especially chill. Despite them being incredibly busy (the wait time for us from getting on the waitlist to sitting down was 3 hours), the servers always find time to check on you and make sure you're taken care of. Our server Calvin was really helpful and patient with us especially. Our food came out pretty prompt and my snow crab legs in particular were super well cooked, nice and plump, not overdone. Definitely need to plan in advance coming to this location as they will close the waitlist after a certain point. There is plenty of parking as it's right around the corner from Target. read more

Today was my first time trying the Boiling Crab (or any seafood boil restaurant for that matter) to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was amazing! We went at 3:30 (close to opening) on a Monday and booths were already filling up quick. Here's the breakdown of my experience: For a party of 3, we ordered 2 pounds of shrimp with 1 sausage link and 3 corn, 1 pound Snow Crab, and one order of Cajun fries. It was more than plenty for 3 people and we took a lot of leftovers home to have for later. For the spiciness level, we chose medium. As a person who can tolerate spice, I'd rate it around 5 to 6 on a scale to 10. Not super spicy but does make your nose run a bit! Sauce, as recommended by our waiter, we chose the Big Shabang. It was incredibly delicious. My dad is a big garlic lover and he loved it. In total, before tip, the cost of the meal was $88. Which wasn't bad at all considering the potion size and quality of food. Lastly, I'd like to thank our waiter, Christian, for his helpful service. He was incredibly patient when I was asking questions while placing my order. He a great dinner experience today at The Boiling Crab in Rosemead. We haven't been here in a while and tonight we decided it was time to go back. I believe our servers name was Christal (wearing a green hat) and she was amazing! All smiles, very polite and attentive to not just our table but every other table around us that she was helping. An absolute gem! The whole staff was actually very pleasant today. Including the young man at the greeting booth. Food was great as always and the vibe was on point thanks to the staff. However otherwise, prices are a bit expensive and I don't think you get the highest quality or freshest seafood here. The shrimp was a bit overcooked and the frozen crawfish was bland (they displayed a sign near the entrance that they were out of live crawfish when I came). Snow crab legs were not bad. Additions of sausages, potatoes, and corn-on-cob were okayish. The whole sha-bang sauce was too salty imo. The cajun hot wings were dry. My family and I recently visited Boiling Crab, and while the food was good, our experience with an employee named Abraham was disappointing. When I politely asked for a ranch, he responded with an attitude and emphasized the $0.75 charge in a way that felt unnecessary, as I had no issue paying for it. The interaction made me feel as though my simple request was an inconvenience. Afterward, I asked our server for his name. Shortly after, Abraham and a few employees came out from the back laughing and looking toward our table, which felt unprofessional and added to the negative experience. I understand everyone can have a bad day, but customer service and professionalism go a long way. Not the best experience with the host, JC, at this Boiling Crab location. Yelp only allowed reservations for up to 6 people, and when I checked in and let the host know we actually had a party of 8, she immediately said they couldn't accommodate us. After waiting almost 3 hours, it was frustrating to hear they couldn't simply accommodate 2 additional kids because they were "too busy." If this is such a problem, the restaurant should either adjust the maximum party size on Yelp or clearly note their policy beforehand. After going back and forth with the host, she finally agreed to squeeze us into a booth. It was disappointing to be treated this way, especially after we drove 2 hours just to eat here. Her solution was basically for us to come back another day when they're less busy. Very rude and dismissive customer service overall. It felt like they didn't care about their guests because the restaurant was already busy. To make things worse, the food at this location was not great either. The Garden Grove location is much better the food is always excellent, and the hosts there have been extremely accommodating and friendly in similar situations. I've visited so many of these locations their staff are great but will not be visiting this one again! read more
