We waited about an hour and a half to be seated, but once we finally sat down, everything came out super quick and hot! Our waitress was really kind and checked in on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. We ordered a pound and a half of shrimp and added sausage, potatoes, and corn, everything was super tasty, fresh, and full of flavor. You could tell it was cooked perfectly and came out steaming. Today was my first time trying the Boiling Crab (or any seafood boil restaurant for that matter) to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was amazing! We went at 3:30 (close to opening) on a Monday and booths were already filling up quick. Here's the breakdown of my experience: For a party of 3, we ordered 2 pounds of shrimp with 1 sausage link and 3 corn, 1 pound Snow Crab, and one order of Cajun fries. It was more than plenty for 3 people and we took a lot of leftovers home to have for later. For the spiciness level, we chose medium. As a person who can tolerate spice, I'd rate it around 5 to 6 on a scale to 10. Not super spicy but does make your nose run a bit! Sauce, as recommended by our waiter, we chose the Big Shabang. It was incredibly delicious. My dad is a big garlic lover and he loved it. In total, before tip, the cost of the meal was $88. Which wasn't bad at all considering the potion size and quality of food. Lastly, I'd like to thank our waiter, Christian, for his helpful service. He was incredibly patient when I was asking questions while placing my order. How much do I love the Boiling Crab? Enough to join their new rewards program lol Been to this location several times but today was especially chill. Despite them being incredibly busy (the wait time for us from getting on the waitlist to sitting down was 3 hours), the servers always find time to check on you and make sure you're taken care of. Our server Calvin was really helpful and patient with us especially. Our food came out pretty prompt and my snow crab legs in particular were super well cooked, nice and plump, not overdone. Definitely need to plan in advance coming to this location as they will close the waitlist after a certain point. There is plenty of parking as it's right around the corner from Target. read more

Not the best experience with the host, JC, at this Boiling Crab location. Yelp only allowed reservations for up to 6 people, and when I checked in and let the host know we actually had a party of 8, she immediately said they couldn't accommodate us. After waiting almost 3 hours, it was frustrating to hear they couldn't simply accommodate 2 additional kids because they were "too busy." If this is such a problem, the restaurant should either adjust the maximum party size on Yelp or clearly note their policy beforehand. After going back and forth with the host, she finally agreed to squeeze us into a booth. It was disappointing to be treated this way, especially after we drove 2 hours just to eat here. Her solution was basically for us to come back another day when they're less busy. Very rude and dismissive customer service overall. It felt like they didn't care about their guests because the restaurant was already busy. To make things worse, the food at this location was not great either. The Garden Grove location is much better the food is always excellent, and the hosts there have been extremely accommodating and friendly in similar situations. I've visited so many of these locations their staff are great but will not be visiting this one again! read more

However otherwise, prices are a bit expensive and I don't think you get the highest quality or freshest seafood here. The shrimp was a bit overcooked and the frozen crawfish was bland (they displayed a sign near the entrance that they were out of live crawfish when I came). Snow crab legs were not bad. Additions of sausages, potatoes, and corn-on-cob were okayish. The whole sha-bang sauce was too salty imo. The cajun hot wings were dry. This location is always always so packed. I thought I went early for dinner but there was 30 people in front on me in the Yelp Waitlist. There's been more seafood boil places in the area popping up, but Boiling Crab is where my heart lies. The employees there are super nice and attentive. Theresa showed us our table and notified us of the out of stock items of the day. She was super sweet and patient when it came to explaining the check in with Yelp. Our server (I believe his name was Leo) checked up on us often and made sure everything was going well and that we received everything. There was never a moment where our water cups were empty. It's in the louder side but that's what I like about this restaurant. Everyone is there for a good time with friends or family. There are TV playing sport events as well. I was enjoying watching my Dodgers game since I wasn't going to pay for cable at home. The food never misses here for me. Honestly, I think getting the regular shrimp with whole shabang with mild spicy was perfect. With about 2 potatoes per each person and a corn each person (4 people), the value was really worth. We had ordered two appetizer as well, calamari and fries. The total was about like $68. I was surprised with the price and hope to come back soon. There is a deal where if you bring your receipt on the same day to Gotcha tea house, I believe you can buy 3 drinks and get the 4th one free? Might take them up on the offer next time if I'm not full to the brim. Parking is a gamble here. I ordered mild spice and it was still overwhelmingly hot -- not in a flavorful way, just straight heat that drowned out everything else. The shrimp didn't taste fresh, and the crab was definitely past its prime. For $37, I expected a decent cluster, but there was barely any meat in the legs, which felt like a complete waste. On top of that, the sauce wasn't well balanced. It was mostly just spicy, and the garlic came in huge chunks instead of being minced, which made the texture really unpleasant. Honestly, Boiling Crab has been going downhill for a while, and this just confirmed it.
