Not all locations are built the same, unfortunately. I went to the Temecula location previously and had a pretty good experience, especially for a chain restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience at this location last night was completely different. The service was very slow, and our waitress hardly checked in on us. We had to flag her down--or ask someone else--for pretty much anything we needed. The food was also disappointing. Some dishes came out cold, while others were overcooked or dry. On top of that, it was hot and humid inside the restaurant. When you go out to eat, especially on a hot day, you expect to at least be able to escape the heat and be comfortable while enjoying your meal. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and unfortunately, I would not come back to this location. read more

Came here's this past weekend for a dinner! We chose family style platters so we got a bit of everything. Brisket was good, ribs were delicious & flavorful, Mac n cheese was good, the salad with ranch was a great start to the night! The bbq beans were yummy & of course you can't forget the biscuits with their cinnamon butter! I got the strawberry lemonade which was super refreshing, sweet & huge since they come in those mason jars haha didn't even need 1 refill! Service was good, we were a big party so they were pretty attentive so loved that when we asked for something we actually got it & wasn't forgotten about! Their bbq sauces were tasty! Great mixes! I haven't been to Lucilles BBQ in years as the service did not seem great the last time I went. Fast foward to July 2026 and I had a completely different experience. Service was impeccable and so friendly. The food was really delicious. Loved the fried cheese curds and I just returned from having them in Wisconsin. These are solid. The BBQ plates are great. Meats are tender and all the sides were perfect. The value is beyond comparison. Same with Chili's and the other more American chain restaurants. They are all so generous and we walked out with a refill of nice Lemonade and bag of honey biscuits. My only wish is that they had collard greens but other than that, I can't wait to return. Update. I just came back a month later for dinner and it was nearly a disaster. Poor service. Food not so great. Lunch and dinner is a drastic difference. The meats looked so delicious but didn't taste as delicious as they looked. Chicken was the saving grace because they tasted well marinated. The beef meats were not tender at all. Was headed to another place, but saw this place and thought we'd go in for a try! It's set on the edge of a mall parking lot so plenty of parking! Went on a Sunday later morning and found seats easy! Service was friendly and fast! The feeling inside was 'chain' like it that was fine. It felt like it would have a fun night time. Got the top sirloin, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. It all tasted delicious and great. Got real full! Sorry to say, wish it were all a bit warmer. It was like it sat on the serving counter for just a little too long, and the temp was more room temp then warm to hot. Had such a wonderful experience at the Montebello location and a huge part of that was because of our server! Aracely was incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our entire visit. We came here for lunch on a Sunday. This place was quite busy but we were seated right away. We had the following dishes: (1) chicken nuggets with dipping sauce: 3/5 stars. It was good but not spectacular. You have a choice of dipping sauces. (2) Pulled pork sandwich: 4/5 stars. It was quite tasty. Pork was not dry and sauce was flavorful. It is served with choice of one side. (3) Gumbo: 5/5 stars. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this dish. It has a lot of ingredients. This dish was filled with chicken, shrimp and andouille sausage. Rice was served in the middle of the dish. It was delicious. The biscuits with honey butter were very good. 5/5 stars. Service was adequate. Server was friendly. Unlike my last visit, I am happy with my experience during this visit. The last time I had Lucille's BBQ was a take out order for Thanksgiving. The food at that time was disappointing. The meats were over cooked. But I figured they must have many orders for the holiday and they cannot handle the volume. Place was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night. Probably because the dodgers were playing and the bar has great tv positions. Walked in and was seated almost immediately. Greeted promptly by waiter. Waiter was on point and really over the top excellent with customer service and ensuring I had what I desired also routine checking up on my dining experience. I went with a peach lemonade instead of one of their many alcoholic drinks options. Lemonade was sweet and served in a nice size mason type jar. Complimentary corn bread biscuit also arrived with butter. Lemonade and biscuit was good. I ordered the three meat plate (choosing: brisket, baby back ribs and tri tip). Two sides I selected were macaroni cheese and coleslaw. Ribs were great with portion of four ribs on intact slab. Cooked well with perfect near fall off the bone meat. Bbq sauce glaze was on point. Next was the tri tip which was decent but way more moist than the brisket. Tritip was sliced thin and decent portion served with what appeared to be Au juice. Brisket was a disappointment because it seemed dry with charred and chewy outer portions. Cuts of brisket were nice and thick though I wish it was better. Hard to beat Texas style brisket especially as it labeled on their menu as such with a premium (slightly higher price). Macaroni and cheese was good as well as the coleslaw. Coleslaw was dressed well and not overly mayo which I enjoyed. I'm glad I was hungry and went with the extra meat added. Price point were a little steep as compared to quality. Im a big fan of BBQ spots I usually go to the one in Cerritos but it's a drive since I do live in Montebello. Walked right in and got sat. Ordered a peach lemonade my favorite along with some starters deviled eggs and the brisket queso dip. For my meal I got the pulled pork SW with fries also the two meats and two sides. The food is really good can't complain. It was a slow morning and our food did take a little while along with how cold it was in there. I was freezing, literally couldn't wait to eat and get out of there. Also the customer service was ok. Basic, the ones in Cerritos they make you feel super welcome and they are really friendly. I've been to Lucille's a few times for special occasions, but my most recent visit was by far the best dining experience I've had there. I was celebrating an anniversary, and everything exceeded my expectations from the quality of the food to the outstanding service. Our waitress, Aracely, truly made the night unforgettable. She was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, and her attentiveness never missed a beat. She was polite, enthusiastic, and incredibly professional; the best service I've ever received. She checked in often, kept our drinks and biscuits coming, and made excellent recommendations without ever feeling pushy. We opted to try the 2 for ~$50 feast, comes with appetizer, three meats and dessert. For an additional $10, we added two sides to the line up. They bring a basket of fresh bread and sweet butter while you wait, we opted for the two side salads as our appetizer and they were insanely fresh. The meats were phenomenal, ribs and pulled chicken were our favorites. The sides, garlic mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese, were mediocre in taste and warm at best while the dessert, fruit cobbler, was entirely too sweet with caramel drizzle and ice cream topping it for our taste. We tried the churro beignets that came with chocolate dipping sauce; the chocolate sauce was bitterly sweet. But, these on their own are incredibly airy and sweet, loved the cinnamon sugar coating on them. The service was mediocre at best and, while it could just be on my server, it seemed more like the servers were all stretched extremely thin across large sections. While our server was kind, he did seem backed up and made minor errors. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, comfortable and clean, the restrooms the same. read more

For an appetizer, we had the onion straws and for dessert, we had the cobbler with ice cream. The service was okay. The server took our order and everything was accurate. The person that checked on us frequently was actually our bartender. And she was super friendly and kind. As far as food, it was pretty subpar. The onion straws were really soggy. The loaded mashed potato was also just okay. The potato itself was so bland. The texture of all the meats were pretty tough so we didn't finish everything. Came on a busy Saturday evening. Although there was a wait, we didn't wait more than 30 mins. Service was great and friendly! Phone ordered some food yesterday for a grandma I mentioned I'd get her some mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese and some deviled eggs. Ultimately I had to go online with their link texted to me to pay for my order. Well when I arrived there was a slight delay but it's understandable since they seemed busy. We loved all the little details and decor through the restaurant. Very chill welcoming vibe. The food was delicious! My wife and I and her daddy took my brother to celebrate his birthday at Lucille's Smkehouse BBQ in Montebello. We made reservations because it gets packed certain time of the day. When arrived it wasn't packed it took couple of minutes for our table to be ready. Our table was ready with the menu on the table and utensils on the table then we sat down and then we order our drinks.. We were looking at the menu and see what to order then my wife and us decided to order the Tour of BBQ with two sides and get another side. My family enjoyed having special occasions at Lucille's because it bring family together. The waitess was bring the sides first the salad was the first then mac cheese and the garlic mashed potatoe and sting beans and vegetables. Then they brought meats it looks so good and plenty of food feeds for four. The food was amazing good especially the meats like the rib,BBQ chicken,brisket and burned ends and hot links plenty of meat it was delicious. First thing to know about this place is that it is very expensive. I placed my order online for a BBQ Feast for Two for $59.99. It's an easy process although menu can be overwhelming. For first course, I chose the Loaded Fried Green Tomatoes, which came in four and was very tasty. Then, I got to choose three BBQ meats, two sides (mash potatoes and coleslaw), one dessert, and complimentary biscuits. Food was overall ok (the sauce did make the meat taste better). I also ordered a Margarita, which took about fifteen minutes for me to get it. This place to me is still my #1 Favorite place to grab a bite to eat even for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food here is always delicious and it just falls off the bone which is a plus for me! I love it a lot when it's like that. The service was fast and efficient and never disappoints whatsoever. Our server 'Brenda' was so nice and sweet as well as to her customers she's serving. It's always great to see happy and energetic employees here. I'm happy that she was our server because it made our experience shine bright like a diamond. The ambiance here was no so loud just because I came in at around 11:00am when it opened and not so many people yet, which was good for me cause we didn't have to wait to be seated. So I love Lucille's. I've been to the Santa Clarita and Topanga Canyon locations many times. This location however, I won't recommend. After waiting to be seated, we are finally walked to a table and given menus. After ten mins of waiting without our drink orders being taken we became concerned.
