Bear was a "spicy" kid since his rescue years ago so I was weary initially, but the screening process put my mind at ease; plus, the webcam access makes this service worth every red cent. The staff members are loving: it's like Cheers for dogs bc almost every employee affectionately greets him by name. I couldn't be happier as Bear's socialization with other dogs and humans has been remarkable: I can trust my dog more bc of this exposure. They did a good job on grooming but require a $50 fecal test every month. My dog is on Heartguard and is up to date on all vaccinations.. My vet at home said this was crazy and just a scam. That was more than it cost to groom my dog. I don't think I will return. read more

I wish my wife and I had a fair chance to review this facility but unfortunately they have "Breed Restrictions". Even though our 3 year old doberman is very social and lovable and has spent his entire life playing with all types of dogs both at public dog parks and private boarding facilities, he wasn't even given a chance to be evaluated. I understand liability and risks. And I also understand all dogs are animals. I have positive references from other boarding facilities and THE BONE ADVENTURES never even bothered to ask if our dog had been boarded before. The woman on the phone was very polite and apologized and basically said it was the owners policy. But she would however e-mail the owner to see if she would make an exception. Needless to say we haven't heard anything back. I might be giving the owner too much credit, but potentially she might have a good reason. But at the same time I have boarded our dog plenty of time at Wags and Wiggles and Paws Pets resorts in Lake Forest. Out of all three - Paws Pets resorts is hands down our favorite and their customer service shines. Like I said - I wish we did have a chance to rate this place and give the staff a chance to meet our boy Diego - At this point I have issues with this establishments policies. Without getting into doggy rights debate I do think if we have glowing references it should at least be worth a conversation. later boneheads! read more

If you, or your dog, like associating with the suffocating constraints /oddities of interacting with the wealthy, and the "want-be" wealthy, then this place might be just for you. If you want to be around normal dog lovers and a place where your dog can just BE A DOG, than you might want to try somewhere else. I have used many places in OC, for several days a week throughout the year, and this is the ONLY place that put my dog on "time out" for RUNNING/CHASING. What!? Running!? Chasing!? Isn't that what dogs do? It's like telling a human not to breath. Maybe, if I went more often they would tell me my dog wagged his tail too much. I am thinking the place is like this because of the area. The staff likely has clamp down of dogs just being dogs because of the threat of a lawsuit from some eccentric dog owner. In any case, life is too short to deal with this with my dog when I had to do it with my kids. It is OK and convenient, but might want to try another place if you can. read more

Hank comes here about once a week and always has a great time (I can tell, I watch him on the web cam). The place is very clean and there are always plenty of staff supervising the dogs, so you don't have to worry about your little (or big) buddy getting chomped on when someone's back is turned. They also offer grooming services. They give you a full tour of the facility when you first come in, and they "interview" each dog (watch them play with the other dogs for an hour or two) before "accepting" them so you can feel secure that A) your dog enjoyed him/herself and B) the other dogs there must have okay temperaments too since they had to have passed their interviews. They also keep very up to date on your dog's vaccinations and will call to remind me if my dog needs a shot even before my vet will. Another great thing is that if you leave your dog here overnight, instead of getting stuck sleeping in a kennel or something, s/he gets to have a sleepover with the other dog or dogs that s/he likes playing with the most. They actually pay attention to who likes playing with whom and will pair them up on that basis. Say it with me now: awwww! Becky mentioned their breed discrimination policy, which I am not wild about either, but I still can't give the Bone Adventure any less than five stars. They take great care of my little doggie (especially Kristin! Hank loves her the most) and we both thank them for it. read more

Took my pup to get her nails and glands cleaned. Very quickly performed and they did a great job! By the time I was done filling out her information, she was done. Other places wanted to keep her for HOURS which is ridiculous for the minimal work she needed. Also a plus that another lady came in to pick up her baby, and the facility had to DRAG the pup away from his buddies cuz he was having such a good time. This will be my go to place for my pups beauty needs and of she needs to be borded. read more

There is so many wonderful things to say about Diane the owner, the staff and the facility.....where do I start! We have been bringing our Labrador Jarvis to the Bone Adventure for over 6 years on and off. He started at the original location, and has been able to play at the new resort a few times. The only other time he gets as excited to leave the house is when we are taking him to the beach to swim, other than that the Bone Adventure is his favorite place on this planet! The staff is amazing! I love they're truly there because they are passionate about their love for dogs and they enjoy what they do. I know that every time I drop my baby off, he is going to be in the best care. There are so many times they have gone out of there way for us....... I have needed at the last minute a pick up or drop off and every single time they came through....... I needed a last minute grooming added to the daycare, they found a way (which by the way the Groomer ROCKS)..............we hit a financial hardship with the economy and Diane made it possible for Jarvis got to visit........ he was just diagnosed with Lymphoma and again Diane went out of her way to offer an option for him to visit, since he can interact with other dogs due to his immune system...... its endless! They do treat you like family! Lastly to give a reply to the few who gave bad reviews because they were not allowed to bring their breed which could potentially cause an aggressive situation..... Its not the their responsibility to take risks for other 99% of the dogs that attend, and if you owned a business you would understand. They are obviously conducting their business for the safety of every animal. There are many other locations that offer daycare for those breeds. Giving a review based on a guideline of a business is NOT how Yelp works...... it is a review of your experience. You didn't have an experience, so why are you leaving a review??? I can't even get out the whole sentence "do you want to go to daycare?" before Luda is jumping all over me in excitement! He looooves going to the BA, and is always warmly welcomed by name when we get there. Daycare is super easy....no appointment needed, we just swing by on our way to work in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. Overnight stays should be booked in advance, but we have had situations where we knew we wouldn't make it back to BA in time to get Lu before they close, and they are very accommodating in those emergencies. Perks include: the ability to peek at him on their webcams, an exhausted dog at the end of the day, an adorable report card sent home, and apparent love given to all the dogs by the staff! read more

The staff members are positive and professional and our dog, is so happy and excited to be dropped off. They offer day care and boarding and also have a live feed where you can check in on your dog. We used the day-care services for quite a while, though we never used the boarding or grooming services. We always found the staff friendly enough, and the workers all seem to pay attention to the dogs and take good care of them. The webcam feature is nice, too. When our dog died suddenly shortly before Christmas, they were very nice about refunding our pre-paid money without any problem. They also hand-delivered a very nice condolence card to our house, signed by the staff members. I would recommend Bone Adventure to anyone who needs day care for dogs. It's a bit pricy (rates recently went up a bit), and the parking is bad (I usually parked next door, in clear violation of the "Tenant Parking Only" sign), but our dog liked it there just fine and she was cared for well. read more

Great groomer and staff. My 2 dogs had fleas so they went in for a flea bath. My 65lb dog was $40 and my little 12lb dog was $25. They came back clean, soft, flea free, happy and with some sample flea repellent wipes. They even kept my dogs a little longer so I could fully clean my house with flea spray. When I take my dog to bone adventure he talks to me. He starts howling in excitement to see the staff members and other dogs. I think his howls are saying thank you mommy! The staff is very friendly and they always remember my dogs name. They even feed your dog lunch if you have to be at work all day. My dogs doesn't like to eat breakfast so I am greatful they take the time to feed him in his own little area. I had to bring my pup here on emergency...our condo flooded and she needed to be out of the house...upon calling The Bone Adventure and explaining my situation they gladly allowed Harlow to come in last minute. I'm beyond impressed with the whole staff and business. My boyfriend and I live in Las Vegas and wanted to take a trip down to the beach for a night and enjoy the orange county fair... problem was we have a five month old fur baby and we didn't trust leaving her with just anyone. We saw the reviews, and loved that she would be outside playing until bed time. Pj the manager, and his staff made us so comfortable to leave her in their care and they gave us a paper to watch her live if we wanted on a webcam- how cool! We went the next morning to pick her up and saw one of the staff members had her in her arms and didn't want her to leave. As if we weren't happy enough to pick her up and give her all the love and cuddles in the world, they gave us a "report card" with hand written notes from the staff on her stay. WOW! I just had my pug Milo stay here over the weekend for the first time, and I am SO impressed and happy with the service here! I got to see him on their webcam whenever I felt like it, and he was always being attentively watched over by someone. Everyone there is super friendly. and I am so happy I have somewhere to leave Milo in good hands! I think my favorite part of the stay is reading all of the report cards he got. The whole thing kind of feels like leaving a child at overnight camp, which says a lot about the quality of care they give! This is the first time im writing a review on any establishment. I felt the need to do so now as I've been bringing my kids (4 legged kids that is) to the Bone adventure for years; I believe at least 5 years now. From Diane, the owner, to PJ the manager (one of the fabulous managers) ... as well as all of the other staff members at the bone, ive found nothing but wonderful caring people that I feel truly care for my babies. My dogs are my kids and I expect them to be treated that way. I have a large breed and a small breed and both are as happy as can be as soon as we exit the 73. If I mention the word "school" (which is the code word for daycare in our house), they both go crazy and I can barely keep them from banging the garage door down to get out. I have to say PJ is probably my big girls favorite to the point that my fiancé gets a bit jealous, lol. She absolutely loves PJ and PJ has always treated both of my dogs like his own. If he is the manager and treats them this way, I can only assume he expects the same from his staff. Again, I have not had one bad experience with anyone at the Bone. Everyone has always treated me with respect and more importantly have always taken care of my animals. I can be out of the country, or just down the street and know I do not need to worry when they are in the Bones hands. Lastly, Diane the owner has been wonderful. Their have been times that Ive had questions on a bill, or just wanted to ask her something and she has always gotten right back with me. Its great knowing I can always call Diane directly if need be or leave her a message knowing she will get right back with me. If you need a place to leave your 4 legged kids, I couldn't recommend this place enough. I drive from San Diego to OC to bring my dogs when im traveling just to be sure that I can sleep at night knowing my babies are in good hands with the Bone adventure team!!! Really excellent daycare and overnight boarding. This has been our go-to place for years. The staff is super friendly and responsive and takes very good care of our pup. They have lots of video cameras so you can see what your dog is up to and there's always multiple staff interacting with the dogs, keeping things going smoothly, and cleaning up when necessary. We dropped our puppy off at the bone adventure for the initial interview based on a friend's recommendationand I am severely disappointed and upset. I watched the puppy cam and they spray your dogs with water if your dog tries to play with others. If a dog pees on the ground, it's not cleaned up right away. One of the workers was trying to catch my dog by cornering it with wide open arms (don't they know that causes aggression?), picked her up, and DROPPED HER ON HER BACK. Did they mention this incident at pick up? Of course not. Were we informed of spraying, picking up the dogs, or potential injury? No. We will certainly not be returning our business here! read more

We've been taking our one year old pup to the bone adventure for several months now and are very happy with the service. There have been some instances where we haven't been completely satisfied and when that has happened the staff/owner have been extremely accommodating. Our pup is always SO happy to go there and is usually exhausted after we pick him up, whether it's for a half day or a couple nights. We greatly appreciate this business and urge anyone who goes there to make a relationship with the staff/owner as they always want to make sure you and your pup are satisfied! I went in to get my French Bulldogs nails trimmed and the groomer choked him out and wouldn't let go when he was CLEARLY struggling. I had to sternly ask him to let go before he would. When he did let go, my dog was heaving and trying to catch his breathe. French Bulldogs have VERY sensitive throats - a groomer should know that and NEVER treat a dog like that. I had actually heard good things about this place from somone at the dog park. My dogs got to Doggietown in Huntington Beach and love it, but I was interested in maybe alternating with this place because the dogs are outside which I thought mine would enjoy (Doggietown is a very nice facility but it is inside only). I never intended to stop taking them to doggietown just to add this experience to their routines. Although the pricing here is MUCH higher, especially for two dogs, I was also alright with that for them to have the outside experience. However when I called to inquire I got the rudest person on the phone. Clearly my questions about their packages and their interview process, annoyed this woman and she could not have been any more rude if she tried. Here is a hintm if you do not want to answer questions, take your number off the website and require email communication only. I don't want my babies spending the day with anyone so nasty. They will stick with their current daycare where in over 7 years I have found the staff to be kind and friendly. Nasty people, irritated by routine inquiries delivered in a polite and professional manner are just the type of people likely to take their anger out on innocent animals. My dog goes to the backyard location. She loves the pool and every time I pick her up, she is exhausted and is really well behaved at home. I can tell on the webcams that she's having a great time. However, I think the Backyard location has one MASSIVE flaw, and that is their sh*tty teenage-like staff. I understand it's probably hard to hire individuals who will take pride in their work at a doggy-daycare. That being said, the staff looks grungier than the dogs. Like, really? Did you just decided not to shower before work? And what's with their poor attitudes? No customer service on the phone and rarely in person. I just got off the phone with one of the girls, and after requesting that they feed my dog dinner because I was running late, she responded with "Yeah, I guess. How much food?" Excuse me? I pay $600 a month to have my dog get exercise and have a good time, and I certainly don't pay that amount of money to have some degree-less sh*thead talk to me like that. How about a "No problem" or "We'd be happy to take care of that". I wouldn't be writing a bad review if this was an isolated incident, but for every wonderful employee I've encountered (CJ, Kendall(?)), I have also had to deal with another just as bad. The facility is amazing and the grown-ups that actually work there have been a pleasure to deal with. It's just a shame that they employ such a ragtag group of people. If it doesn't improve, I will be taking my dog back to Wags N' Wiggles in Tustin. I'd prefer not to since my dog absolutely adores the Backyard, but I am tired of excusing the lack of customer service on my dog's behalf (and my $600 dollars a month). One more thing, which I'm sure is because of the lazy staff. On three separate occasions, after requesting grooming services for my dog (nail trim or bath), she has been picked up without having the grooming complete. When they actually get around to it, they do a good job. LOVE this place. I wish I could afford to bring my dogs to day care on a regular basis. Hands down this place beats boarding my dogs at the vet's or at the PetSmart Hotel. My dogs get to interact all day with other dogs and can run/walk around in freedom with 24 hour supervision instead of being couped up and bored in a dog jail cell. Every time I pick my dogs up from here, they go home dead tired - they pass out as soon as I get home....and for hours too. Let me count the reasons I love this place: - They do a personality assessment of your dogs prior to allowing them to stay. They give you written notes about your dog and I found their assessment of my dogs pretty spot on (one being very outgoing and eager to play and one being shy and more prone to look for people) - They require fecal tests every 6 months for every dog that comes here to prevent the spread of infections - They clean up pee and poo very quickly - They supervise the dogs well; My dog gets squirted with water when she's bothering another dog too much - Web-cams to see what your dog is doing (My dogs have been here maybe two or three times but I haven't checked out the web-cam yet) read more

The staff were super friendly and helpful when I checked my 5-month old labradoodle, Chewie, in. While we were waiting, I could see the other dogs enjoying their time and each other.
