This place is like my dream date, cute, (iykyk). I had been dying to visit ever since I saw a TikTok about their opening, and it did not disappoint. A good friend of mine (fellow book lover, of course) and I stopped in for a cute morning coffee date. From the moment we walked in, I was absolutely in love. The shop is beautifully curated with books from all genres, plus fun extras like stickers, hats, shirts, tote bags--you name it. It's a reader's paradise and a perfect spot for gift shopping or just treating yourself. Naturally, we couldn't resist trying the coffee. I ordered the iced S'mores Chai Latte--a delicious iced chai with mocha syrup, topped with toasted marshmallow cold foam. It was like sipping a cozy campfire, with the perfect balance of rich chocolate and spicy chai. Absolutely divine. We found a cozy spot, pulled out our Kindles, and read while sipping our lattes. It was peaceful, relaxing, and honestly the ideal way to spend a morning. I visited this new coffee shop and bookstore in Gilbert with a friend and her 10 month old, and overall it was a pretty solid experience. When you first walk in, it's a little confusing figuring out where the coffee line starts since people are also browsing books at the counter. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. My first visit, I ordered a caramel latte with oat milk cold foam and it was delicious. The coffee beans had great flavor and didn't taste burnt or bitter. I also grabbed a croissant, which was flaky and really good. The shop was beautifully decorated for Christmas too, which made it feel cozy and festive. I went back a couple weeks later and tried a cookie butter latte with whole milk cold foam. Honestly, that one didn't taste quite right. The flavor was off, and both times I noticed the lattes were still pretty warm from the espresso, even with cold foam, which was unexpected. I also got my son a gingerbread man cookie and he loved it, so that was a win. Overall, it's a cute spot with good coffee when it hits, a nice atmosphere, and tasty pastries. Just hoping for a little more consistency with the specialty drinks. read more

Really loved this place! It's a super stylish little bookstore with a fantastic selection of new romance and fantasy titles--everything felt current and thoughtfully curated. Whether you're into swoony slow burns or epic magical worlds, you'll find something to fall in love with here. The coffee is also seriously good. You can tell the barista takes pride in what they do--mine was perfectly made, and the vibe overall is cozy, cool, and inviting. Only downside? They're card-only, which I normally wouldn't mind, but there was no obvious signage indicating that. I tried to pay with cash and the terminal operator was a little snotty about them being "card only" - it was the only sour note on an otherwise lovely visit. Still, the books and coffee are more than enough to bring me back. Just a heads-up: bring your card and maybe leave the cash at home. read more

This place is brand new and has been getting a lot of attention in the book community all over the valley. So I was really excited to check this place out. There is some parking in front and also a garage nearby. It took me a while to find the door to get in since there is no sign yet. Very busy on this Saturday afternoon. There was some seating at the bar area and also on the covered patio. Lots of tables with books for sale and other fun book themed merchandise. Food and drinks are also available for purchase. Unfortunately, this place really only had fantasy stories but since they are new, maybe they'll expand out to other genres at some point. I also wish there were more indoor tables for large groups to sit at. With summer around the corner, I don't think people are going to want be on the patio. You can host your book club here and they have a reservation system for it online. So that's cool! I had higher hopes for this place, but will come back at some point and see if anything's changed. read more

CUTE! I loved the vibe in here. It was dark and moody but still welcoming and cool. They had a really fun area decorated and themed out for Halloween which was so fun. In addition to books, they have a lot of fun book-related merch that I have not seen other places. From sword bookmarks to jewelry that has appeared in popular novels, the selection was really cool. I also had to get a latte! The ube one tempted me, but it was game over once I realized they had a salted maple pear latte. It was just as good as it sounds. They have a very creative and on-theme set of drinks and it was fun to even just look at the menu. I love the diversity of books here. From scary stories to an LGBT section, the range was impressive and thoughtful. They also had a table from local authors, which was really cool to see. read more

This has got to be the CUTEST bookstore / coffee shop to open up in downtown Gilbert. The official grand opening date is in April but they are now currently open. I stopped by yesterday evening and the rainy gloomy day made it 100x better. Twilight was playing on the projector and the music was superb. I looked around and found a lot of good books, cute merch, accessories, and small trinkets. Everything was well organized. There were several seating spots throughout the shop and out on the patio as well. Got myself a chai latte and it was very good. The barista was friendly and inviting. Finally got to try The Bookish Shop! (It's been on my list since March) It did not disappoint. The vibes were cozy, but lush, and also very enchanting. Like what you'd expect in a bookstore/ coffee shop hybrid. The drinks were great! I tried one of the specialty drinks based on a book, which had maple and salted caramel flavor. It was the perfect amount of sweetness. I got a second drink because we were there for hours, so I also tried the matcha latte. I appreciated that the barista asked how sweet I wanted it and she made it perfectly sweet based on my preference. Overall, 10/10 would recommend! read more

I had no idea this place existed up until just a few days ago! This dark & gloomy coffee shop is the perfect spot for coffee & book lovers alike. Upon entry, you will feel almost as if it you've steeped foot into some sort of gloomy storybook. You will find a fair selection of books and just a small selection of genres is offered. Help yourself to some adorable merch from shirts to hats and jewelry. Seating is fairly minimal for being such a large that it is. You will find mostly high top seating around the establishment. Now to the drinks! They offer a speciality drink menu along with teas, coffees, energy drjnks and some pastries for you to nibble on. My first time in, I had the strawberry matcha and it the drink itself was okay. A few days later I came back for their "Bloody Latte" and this drink was IT! Incredibly delicious and looked pretty too. Service was very friendly. Greeted upon entry, leaving, and if I needed help while looking around the shop. What a cute and cozy place to grab a coffee, tea or latte and snuggle in to read a book. Located right next to downtown Gilbert the spot is tucked away, but is one that should not be missed. This is a great spot to bring a middle schooler too as well. They have a really cute little Photo Booth to print pictures in. They have great chairs that you could read the day away in and they have a large coffee bar with Wi-Fi and Internet access. If you're looking for your next book, be sure to stop here. I would go to war for this bookstore/coffee shop hybrid. The Bookish Shop specializes in books and book accessories that fall into the romantasy, fantasy, and smut realm. The shelves are stacked with all the trendiest books, including hard-to-find special editions. I was in awe of their book merch, especially their collection of Kindle accessories. The best part? This spot is all about community building. The Bookish Shop encourage events and onsite book clubs, allowing for fans to book the space online prior. Coffee and light pastries are served onsite, making it too easy to spend the entire day reading in one of their many comfy seats. So excited to seeing these romance community book spaces popping up nationwide. You'll always have a fan in me. Disclaimer: This bookstore offers a narrow spectrum of genres, but honestly.. that's kind of the point. It's a place for readers interested in the romance/fantasy genre to come together and bond over their favorite books. I wouldn't dock a star if a comic bookstore didn't offer traditional literature. A very cute book shop in Gilbert! The parking lot was a good size but I can see it easily getting filled up for events or for other businesses in the plaza. The store itself is very aesthetically pleasing. The cafe has a variety of beverages, I had the strawberry matcha and it was a tasty fresh sipper as I roamed the store.
