Food: two 16 inch pizzas Margherita Pizza - cheese, tomato sauce, basil oil Bottomless Pit pizza - pork belly, Tuscan chicken, cheese, green onion, prime rib, & cheddar. Wings (Medium) Mild sauced Drinks: Prosecco, beers, Pinot Noir Had leftovers sharing with four people!! All of the food came out at once. Waited around 25-30 minutes for the food. What a gem to find! I really wanted some tasty espresso during the mid-January exhausting late morning. I found myself indulging in trying somewhere I hadn't been before vs going to a coffee shop (as most folks would). What a delightful treat! While sipping on my espresso; I decided I wanted some light fare, so the Bruschetta Pomodoro did me well. After gabbing with the friendly bartender for a while and listening to him brag about their lemon pepper wings being the best in Huntsville, I had to try them out! I needed to check out the hype, (and I will not divulge their secret...that's there's to to tell)! I will say, that my rendezvous for some tasty espresso turned into bruschetta, wings & fries (with two orders to go), and the most amazing tiramisu for me to later indulge! We had a large group for a birthday & I made reservations. Kristin was our waitress. She was attentive & great with the kids. The pizza was fantastic!!!! We got the prosciutto & arugula. Several people got the rocket city pizza & the sausage specialty pizza. I had a hard time taking pics bc everyone dove into their food. All the pizza can be made into a calzone. They have a HUGE booze list of beers, wines, & spirits. I'm so excited to go back. They have some really yummy looking martinis. I love that this is a family-owned business. They also offer Monday night cooking classes! The only drawback is that it's next to a weird motel & weird parking but that's not on them. Remember to support your local family-owned restaurants! When the Boot first opened I was optimistic about another locally owned restaurant in south Huntsville. Unfortunately, it's downright terrible. The service, the food, and the ambience are all just.... Bad. It's expensive but the quality is so cheap. The cheese especially just tastes like plastic, and the sauce I swear is just plain ketchup?! Not to mention you're waiting half an hour or more just for someone to notice you. Lastly... it's dirty. The tables are sticky. The bathrooms are gross. It's just plain bad. I'm new to the area. Everyone talked about The Boot puzz. They gave rave reviews so I had to try it. Last night my husband and I visited The Boot. Our waitress took our drink order which was slow but correct. We placed our order a 16 inch pepperoni pizza and 12 mild wings. Simple, right? Here's what we got: a 12 inch pizza and lemon pepper wings. When we reminded the waitress about the wings she then sent the chef to the table. I had to explain her mistake to him and in response he took the lemon pepper wongs-whivh was understandable. We then get 8 mild wings. I didn't even address the pizza because I was afraid they would take the pizza and give us 2 slices. Her issues was: she didn't write our order down like the other waitress. We will not be back and I expressed my thoughts on her receipt. read more

The better half brought me home casio cold cut sub/sandwiche from this so called pizzeria. When I opened the container I laughed.... what a disgrace to subhood (I didn't mention the fries yet). Bland, watery, tomato soup sauce. brought family to eat some "authentic" italian pasta and sauce. Calamari appetizer was smaller than average, fair taste, but marinara was thinner and less appealing than Campbell's tomato soup. we enthusiastically elected NOT to keep the remainder to go with the entrees. In most all Italian restaurants people would not have any marinara left - and you would want to order an additional mug. son's chicken parm had scorched chicken and watery, off-tasting sauce. wife's rigatoni was not cooked even to aldente. my lasagna was bland but edible. Tiramisu was okay with a lot of hazelnut and espresso and what looked like fresh cream. not sure what is up with this place as it has been around for several years. I can't fathom anyone wanting a cooking class or referring to this as 'authentic Italian,' unless they only experienced 'italian-style' from a 1960's campbells soup semi-homemade cookbook. Service was good, but they got an order wrong despite not being busy. Crazy when you consider how much we want independent restaurants to succeed and how much slack we cut them when they just try at the basics. My sweet mom, and even sweeter, lovely niece and I enjoyed trying The Boot for the first time this past Saturday. The renovated 'motel style' exterior gave way to a surprisingly lovely appointed interior. We really enjoyed the décor. Marble bar, I think the interior columns were either marble or a cool texture, deep red walls, and an added bonus of a really nice patio, which I'd love to return to and enjoy a glass of wine! Cozy outdoor seating with, I believe ceiling fans, but this hot August day found us deciding to sit inside. There was one other couple in the restaurant around noon-ish. Our waiter, Alex, was sweet as pie and offered suggestions and kindly answered questions about the fare. The menu is fairly extensive, beer taps seem to run for miles and the wine/adult beverage list was really solid! We decided to share and taste the following: Chicken Piccatta Salad; Eggplant Parmigiano appetizer, the "pasta of the day" which was a beer infused thick stuffed-sausage noodle dish, with cheese and the small Philly Cheese Steak Pizza (16"). Tea and water were our bevs. Oddly the salad (my main dish) came out before the app, but Alex explained everything is prepared and cooked to order, so, OK, we were not in a hurry and were enjoying each other's company. It seemed like the rest of the food was oddly staggered, too, but again, not an issue on a lazy hot Saturday, with wonderful company to enjoy! The chicken piccatta salad was okay. I couldn't decide if the white meat chicken chunks were battered or not, it was almost reminiscent of a "General Tso" style chicken, only not hot. The dressing was really good and the dish really would benefit from a more robust share of capers. The greens, cucumbers and tomatoes were really fresh and good! The eggplant parmigiano was served in a nice sauce with a good quality/quantity cheese atop. I had trouble finding the eggplant. My niece really liked this dish. The Philly Cheese Steak Pizza was good. Authentic Italian style crust and authentic Italian in that there is little "pizza sauce" (if any) and the pie is not covered in cheese. The 'pasta of the day' was really flavorful and my niece's favorite of all the dishes. It was just a little rich for my tastes, but I try to eat low carb. The only suggestion I would offer the Boot is to consider the elderly, and those who *do* eat low carb and offer up some tapas, or smaller portions of the rich dishes. There are ~ 4 sizeable assisted living communities within the area (my sweet Mom living in one of the largest ones) and the elderly typically have smaller appetites. When we asked our waiter if dear Mom could order the kid's size lasagna (5.99) from the ~3 item kid's menu we were told "no." I thought this was a little unforgiving, for an 82 year old woman with a cane, but mom took it in stride and just tasted a little of this and that and we had tons of leftovers. It was happy hour (Nice surprise on a Sat!), which I think was 1-2 dollars off wines, and there appeared to be a bloody mary special, I think it was buy a bloody mary get a bread-based appetizer, but I was obviously not paying attention. Stopped in for lunch today with my fiancee. We ordered a large eggplant parmigiana pizza. Took about 25 minutes before the pizza arrived at our table, first impression was not that good -- sparse eggplant topping on the pie. Well, maybe it tasted better than it looked ? No, not really. Our eggplant parmigiana pizza was very bland, flavorless. Had a very "floury taste" to it. Basically zero tomato sauce on this pizza (but maybe that is the way it was meant to be ?). Anyway, it was a disappointment. We did appreciate the nice atmosphere, and the service -- our waitress was friendly and attentive. But can't see coming back based on sup-par pizza we received. I realize this goes against the grain of most of the other reviews for The Boot Pizzeria, but that was our experience today. We also felt the menu was very limited, chicken parmigiana was not even an option. I also eyed a couple of dishes at the table near us --and what I noticed was very small portion sizes. Being from the Northeast, I'm use to generous portions from Italian restaurants. A weak 3 Star rating. And it's only 3 Stars instead of 2 Stars because of the service. read more

I'd heard some pretty good things about Boot from people I trust so I gave it a shot this evening. The atmosphere of this place on a Saturday night was great. The ambiance was casual, there was great live music and plenty of TVs so I was able to turn one to the Cavs/Raptors game. There's a seating area by the bar that's a little removed from everything else. I liked that but wasn't excited about the high seating. It didn't look too busy tonight but it took a few minutes to be seated. The hostess apologized for the wait. The bartender, Trent, was our waiter. It was basically just him tending bar and taking care of the patio and our area. He was very pleasant but it took him a long while to give us attention throughout the night, I'm sure because it was just him back there. I understood, but it did make the evening drag on. The bruschetta appetizer was very good. The bread was warm but there were only 3 pieces on the plate. The salad in the middle of the plate was a nice touch, though a bit bland which was surprising. The bruschetta itself had a very nice flavor. We got two pizzas: marguerita (added diced tomato and spinach) and smoked salmon. They took f o r e v e r to get to our table (a couple that came in a while after us got their food several minutes before we got ours). So long, in fact, it was just luke warm when it got to us and the crust was too crunchy. I bet it had been sitting there for a while. I was disappointed in the texture and temperature of both pizzas. The smoked salmon was flavorful but not too in your face. The marguerita pizza was bland bland bland. I had to put salt and pepper and parm cheese on it in order to enjoy it. I was really excited about this place, particularly since they have unique pizza options like smoked salmon, smoked prime rib, and duck breast. But the actual pizza was a disappointment and not at all worth the high bill I got at the end. read more

Have to say that some one recommended me to this place. Said it was the best in the state. From a Italian woman I believed them. When I came in I was welcomed in. Service was good from the start. Service was great to the end. It was the food that left a bad taste in my mouth. I ordered The chicken Parmesan. When it came out the noodles and sauce were cold. The chicken tasted old and frozen. When asked how was it I had to say something. He was happy to send it back and try again. Took more time then I wanted for lunch. When I got it back I could tell the chicken was reused as it had the same taste. The noodles and sauce was hot this time I finally got to taste that. Problem was it looks like they used Chef Boyardee for the sauce and the noodles. After taking a few bites I was right. No flavor and definitely not Italian. Were was the seasoning here? Food was delicious! I have had better pizza, but still I felt this was very good and would absolutely come back. The drinks were the star of the show. They are a great price and you will feel them! I enjoyed the quiet of the restaurant. It was not too busy when we arrived but as we were there longer it got busier. I like not being in an overcrowded eatery. The service was wonderful. I forget what the waiter's name was but he was great. We ordered the 12 in prime rib pizza (no mushrooms, no horseradish), 12 in margherita, and 12 in build your own pepperoni and ground sausage. I ate the prime rib and the margherita and both were great. The margherita was my fave. The third was my husbands which he said was just alright and he did not like the prime rib pizza. He said the drinks were the highlight for him. Overall, I was completely satisfied with the drinks (I got an Aperol spritz and a love on the riviera and my husband got a Sicilian emerald coast) and the food. Definitely worth the try and a very pleasant experience! Bathroom was clean enough too. I've seen worse and I'm not picky about a bathroom as long as there is toilet paper and soap. I've owned an Italian restaurant for 40 years. I sold last year and came to Huntsville. I ordered a pizza today from The Boot, I must say it was the best pizza I have had since arriving here. The sauce, cheese and toppings were on point with an authentic Italian pizzeria. I was impressed and will no longer get pizza anywhere else. What a great and wonderful experience here in Huntsville. I am confused by the 1 star reviews. Maybe it's people who have never eaten ACTUAL Italian food. We love this place. We live about two hours away and look forward to any chance to eat at The Boot. I am always amazed by how delicious the food is. They have unique pizza flavors which have never disappointed. We've had the pizzas and the pasta dishes. The service was incredibly slow. Seems that only one waitress was working the whole establishment during our visit. We ordered a 12" pizza for the two of us. Having been here many times we were excited to try a new pizza. We ordered a simple pepperoni pizza and it was terrible. Barely a crust or cheese. Albeit, diet friendly but a complete mess and waste of time and money. I also ordered a house salad and paid $4 for a bowl of lettuce and two cucumbers. Sadly disappointed and won't plan to return.
