When I walked in I was impressed by the decor, nicely done, tin ceilings, kitschy car display, but by the time I walked out I decided that I would never come again. It's silly how one really bad experience with a bartender who has the barside manner of a surly Tasmanian Devil can ruin one customers bar experience forever. I didn't get my drink that night, and neither did my friend who asked for a beer from the bartender, was looked straight in the eye, and then went away, never again to return with said beer. Just fyi, the patrons there were quite an eclectic bunch. I think half of them were still sitting there when it was the Helm, too drunk to move while the place was remodeled around them. Probably the best thing about the Boulevard is that it's conveniently located next to the Goat. It's more of a nicer, "loungy" environment...especially when compared to the Goat. It's good to mix it up there and females definitely prefer it to the Goat. The bartenders there are pretty nice and the alcohol is decently priced. read more

Came here with my boyfriend on a saturday night around 7pm. I liked the atmosphere of this place even though it's pretty dark inside. There was a decent amount of people already there but it was no crowded by any means. We mostly hung out in the back where they have a cute little outdoor open top gazebo type sitting area. Super cute with red cushions and string lights around the top. This would be a great place for a group of girls just looking to hang out. We met a few cool people that we chatted with for a while before they left. I like this place and will be back next time I feel like drinking again read more

I can't say enough good things about this bar! Don't be fooled just because it's next to Goat Hill, this place is the complete opposite. They have high quality fresh fruit cocktails and an excellent selection of craft and domestic beers. Nice bar at the end of the 55 in Costa Mesa. Good amount of beers on tap and the bartenders are all cool. If you go on a night they have a band, be prepared not to be able to hold a conversation. It gets really loud. People on the patio were a bit rude and wouldn't get out of the way as I was trying to leave. Patio is small and crowded with smokers. Try using the front door to enter or exit if smoke bothers you. read more

1000% better the the Helm! The bar is a real bar, the lounge area is clean and cool. There's even a patio out back for smokers (it could use a little work, but I'm not complaining). Me and my friends tried this bar a few weeks ago and we loved it! I had no idea this place was next to Goat Hill all this time! Andy is our favorite! He made us the best drinks! Definitely coming back for their famous "point break" spicy margarita! This drink is literally AMAZING!! Prices are average for the signature cocktails but well worth it! Well where should I start... The place is a hole in the wall and bartenders steal. I came here with my girlfriend and my boyfriend for the night. Me and my boyfriend had 1 drink here so obviously not drunk. We go to buy my friend a drink, give the girl bartender a $100 dollar bill and she gives us change for a $20. She said we didn't give her a $100 bill which I know we did for a fact because that was the cash we had brought with us and we weren't using our debit card. They refused to check the cameras or count the drawers and just treated us as if we were drunk idiots-which we were not. It's very sad to see an establishment so dishonest and unethical. I won't be going back here... Ever! Beware don't use cash here, they are only looking to make money and get one over on you. read more

Went by here for the first time to have a quick glass of wine before a hair appointment down the street, what a mistake I made to pick this place when I walked in and sat down the bartender came over and I asked about the wine she said oh today we have Hahn never heard of it so I had a taste it was okay had no other option on a chardonnay so I ordered a glass it was 4.50 and I gave her 7.00 a 2.50 tip on one glass of wine she said oh thanks but really rude then she continued on with talking to a guy at the bar just going on and on about about herself and saying the only reason I work here is because I like the place and was so on herself saying oh I can't stand drying my hair etc.. she looked like a homeless person wearing a horrible shirt and top she never once asked if I wanted anything else probably the worst customer service I have ever had if I owned that place she would never work there I think the owners should check her out don't know her name but she worked 02/22 at 5:30 to 6:00 when I was there she is horrible I will never be back what a bad impression ! read more

what is the point of having smokers smoke cigarette next to an entrance. the smell comes in the restaurant and it hard to enjoy dinner. the table setting need an upgrade. it table was sticky and furniture look old. we could not tell who is the employee. when we saw the employee smoke a cigarette and than serve customer drinks, we left right away. read more

My first visit here will be my last! Thought the atmosphere was cool, liked the vibe and the music. All was well until we asked for the bill. Apparently there are different drink menus and prices depending upon the time of day. The bill is not itemized but handwritten. After review we told the bartender that our bill was incorrect. It took some time to adjust prices and to our surprise we now had a second page of drinks and a line item for gratuity!! I have never seen a bar add gratuity to your bill and have never seen an establishment conveniently "leave" off gratuity on the first pass. Needless to say this place left a bad taste, thought they were more upscale but seems they are as "dirty" as the goat. Won't be back. read more

Had a good time here on a Wednesday night. Nice selection of imported draft beers. HOWEVER - watch out for the pricing here and don't get overcharged!!!! I ordered a vodka tonic which came out to be $5. Then, I ordered a second vodka tonic with a different waiter. This time, the second waiter said the price was $5.50. But when he brought the bill, the price was $6????? WTF? Do the drinks go up in price throughout the night? I wonder how much a third drink would have cost! Also, the smoking area is not well ventilated at all, the smoke just sits there under the covered area. Not well planned at all. I NEVER leave yelp reviews, but I had such a great time at The Bouleavrd tonight, that I had to write something! I wasn't expecting much, but from the moment I walked in- to the moment I left (last call), my group had so much fun, I had to leave a review! I have never been to a place where the bartenders were allowed to have as much fun as they did tonight, and it was such a blast! The bartenders were awesome! Andy and Christie served my group throughout the night and to see them taking shots, dancing aorund behind the bar- laughing and having a good time, only made us want to join in and have as much fun as they were having! The music was a perfect mix of what we all loved amd everyone behind the was so friendly and fun, it just felt like hanging out with a bunch of your best friends on a Saturday night. I will definitely be back! My friends from out of town loved this palce, and I'd 100% recommend it to anyone I know, it's absolutely amazing! Seriously come by this place, I promise you will not be dissapointed, The hot bartender alone is totally worth the trip, but trust me, you;ll end up staying for much more.
