Highly recommend! I came here on a whim with my fiancé, friend and her husband. What a great find! The location was perfect, right on the boardwalk. We had the oysters for our appetizer and the braised short rib for our dinners. The food was all amazing and really hit the spot.

Had dropped by The Break for a bite to eat after being on the beach all day. Thankfully there was no wait and we were quickly seated outside. It was a very nice dinner on the boardwalk with a nice a beautiful view. The menu was okay-- had some salads, burgers, sandwiches, and sushi. We started with some beers and drinks and the nachos to start. Nachos were pretty good and the tortilla chips were layered with all the toppings. Our food came out a short time later. I enjoyed my burger and fries and I loved the cheese dipping sauce that came with my fries. My sister liked her poke bowl. Overall it was a pleasant dinner and we all enjoyed our food.

Great place for when you want an easy sit down lunch on the boardwalk. Our drinks took about 25 minutes to come out, but our food arrived very shortly after and everything was tasty. The oysters were served with a mango chimichurri which was surprisingly delicious. I would come back during another beach day!

Delicious resturant with the best view right on the boardwalk- can't go wrong! Service was excellent and our waitress was super friendly. The food was great- we got fresh oysters, french fries and fish tacos. The tacos were big, filling and the avacado aioli was perfect for the fried fish. I got six fresh oysters and one of them had a pea crab in it! Did not love that at all but also wouldnt stop me from coming back here.

Place is pretty big. Inside and outside dining. Ordered calamari as an appetizer which was good. Lobster roll with chips, the roll was good but the chips were over cooked. Lobster mac and cheese my friend really enjoyed and the portion size was huge. I ordered the chirashi bowl- which is like a poke bowl. I really enjoyed it, it was light dish it was just missing some spicy mayo sauce. Cocktails were way to sweet, not worth the purchase. Service was okay.

I enjoyed my lunch at The Break. We sat outside and had a nice view. I had a burger and enjoyed it. My drink was tasty and refreshing. I would stop by for lunch again.

ASBURY PARK: The Break AP opened its doors this year and is right on the boardwalk! Leashed dogs are allowed at their outdoor seating and they are the best seats in the house with oceanfront views! They have a large food and drink menu with seasonal specials make it easy to enjoy a great meal. Dogs are allowed on the boardwalk from 9/15-5/15.

The break was amazing. Very honest bartender of things in Asbury Park. The drinks were great. The food was yummy.

I've visited this spot twice this past summer, and had great meals, both times! The service can be somewhat spotty when it comes to get a table (initially), and they are always packed when I'm there, so it takes some time before a server will come by to take your order. Love the ambiance indoors (too hot for the outside!). As for the food, we had a round of oysters for our appetizer, and then the mussel pot (both EXCELLENT) and I have to say, the Maui Bowl was really really really good. Something about that coconut rice is divine! I would pass on drinking the sake (it wasn't that great), and next summer, I think I might try their sushi (it seemed to a popular ordering choice, from what I could see).

I got the chicken Al pastor quesadilla. It was a good portion and it was very good too. It came with pico de gallo and sour cream. The service was great, she was very nice and for our food fast. They also had a live band playing inside. They have a lot of indoor seating and some outside seating too.

The food here is great. I had the B.L.T.C sandwich which i thought was pretty good, not too dry. The chips it came with were a little hard but still good. The burrito was So Good! The melted cheese on top is a little messy ( me in the photo lol) but so so good. A little pricey but the vibe is worth it.

I came here for lunch before heading to beach. It was perfect that we were able to get right in and sat on the boardwalk. The staff was friendly but service was a little slow. However didn't bother me so much since we were enjoying the scenery of being on/off the beach. We ordered some apps and I had pork roll egg and cheese which was sub par. The pork roll taste as if it was bad and or possibly that it was grilled on same griddle with leftover greases. I did not enjoy the stable of NJ's breakfast meat at this spot at all. I wouldn't say I won't come back because their menu was so big that I want to try other items. Also I loved the fact that they had a live band playing inside

The Matcha Matcha Man was smooth, creamy, and dangerously easy to drink -- the matcha coconut cream with the ginger beer gave it such a unique refreshing kick. The Lady Marmalade tasted like sunshine in a glass with the perfect citrusy balance and just enough sweetness from the marmalade. The food menu is definitely more small plates/appetizer style, but honestly everything tasted super fresh and packed with flavor. The coconut shrimp were jumbo and crispy with the perfect sweetness, the mango habanero chicken bites super fresh, and the wagyu sliders disappeared embarrassingly fast. The real star though? The outdoor lounge setup overlooking the ocean. It's the kind of place where you go for "one drink" and suddenly it's three hours later and you're debating ordering another round just to stay for sunset. Right now they have a tiki theme, however, that's it in my opinion as far as draw to keep going there. The drinks are an overpriced smoke screen for people who want to waste money on a sugary drink. And it goes along with the whole Asbury Park eclectic vibe but most of the drinks have a 5 or more ingredients I never heard of (which is fine) but it waters down the drink. I don't want to have a drink (or pay $15+ for a drink) that tastes like a fruity cup of juice. As far as the limited food suggestions on the menu- only 2 or 3- this is the third time we've been there and they said they were out of food -so then take it off your menu if you can't be consistent!!! We're not just going to keep drinking without anything to eat to go along with it. As far as the service it's inconsistent, when we sat down there was only two of us- The server was very nice but we waited too long for our drinks. A party of 7 came in about 1/2 hour after us and they had their drinks within 5 minutes- that should never be. After one drink we got the check and we left, we are completely scratching it off our list, we will not return there. It does bum me out because it has such potential and there's nothing like it around but I'm not going to visit an establishment where I walk away feeling it was a waste of money.

I ordered the 'Watermelon Crush', my friend ordered a Bucket of Pina Colada and my husband ordered a bourbon bucket drink. I do not remember the name though. The drinks were way too strong for my liking but my friend and my husband enjoyed theirs. We shared the 'Shrimp and Roasted Corn Queso' which was good. They definitely did not skimp on the cheese. Unfortunately, this appetizer also came out with the main meals. I really dislike when places do that. For our entrees, my husband ordered the 'Bang Bang Salmon' which he loved and thought it was delicious but not worth the $26 price tag. My friend ordered the 'Grilled Skirt Steak' which she seemed to enjoy although it was a small portion. I ordered the 'Grilled Shrimp and Pineapple Skewers' which I did like but the skewers were quite small and it was mostly white rice. Our bill came out to $164 which I really think is WAY too high for these meals or drinks. Our server was nice; but she was rarely there. The busser, however, she was on top of her game and super friendly! It might seem funny to mention the busser, but she was really great. I would not come back and honestly, I think there's other options that are better. If I did recommend it to someone, it would be for the drinks as they had buckets and seemed very popular and 2 out of 3 of my party enjoyed them.

The views are fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and we were genuinely excited to spend the evening there. I arrived with two friends and my service dog. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. We waited quite a while just to place our food order, and after ordering, we waited approximately an hour for our food to arrive. During that time, my dog had not even been offered water. If you don't want animals in your establishment we were more than happy to move on. We later learned there was a shift change taking place, which may explain some of the delays, but it certainly did not improve the experience. We also ordered an Aperol Spritz that was being advertised downstairs. It arrived noticeably flat, but we chose not to complain because we were trying to enjoy the evening. To provide some context, our table ordered ceviche, sliders, and two pizzas. This was not a particularly large or complicated order, yet we still waited approximately an hour for the food to arrive. When it finally did, some of it was served less than hot. Despite the delays and quality issues, we remained patient and polite, we wanted to enjoy the evening and the beautiful setting and we were hungry after a ling day at the beach. The most frustrating part happened after we had already been seated for over an hour and our food had finally arrived. A manager approached to confirm that my dog was a service animal because he had been instructed to do so. We answered his questions and explained that we would be leaving soon anyway. A few minutes later, General Manager Connor Anderson came to our table and insisted that my dog either be placed on the floor immediately or that we move outside. What made the situation so unreasonable was the timing. We had already been seated for over an hour, our drinks had been served, our order had been taken, and our food had finally arrived. I had literally just taken my first bite of pizza when this issue was suddenly raised. Had management addressed this concern when we were first seated, I would have respected their position and made a decision then. Instead, they waited until after we had spent over an hour at the restaurant and had finally begun eating before forcing the issue. My friends and I were actually considering moving outside, but the manner in which the conversation was handled felt unnecessarily confrontational and hostile. Rather than continue an uncomfortable interaction, we asked for our food to be packed to go and left. To their credit, the staff ultimately removed the flat Aperol Spritz from our bill and also removed a beer that we never had the opportunity to drink because the situation had already escalated and we were leaving. While I appreciate that gesture, it did not make up for the overall experience or the way the situation was handled. Several employees appeared visibly uncomfortable during the interaction and seemed frustrated by the way the situation was being handled. While the service staff had been polite throughout the evening, the management approach completely changed the tone of the experience. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, it felt as though customer experience, common sense, and the efforts of the staff were being disregarded. We left feeling that the situation had been unnecessarily escalated when a calm conversation could have easily resolved it. AP Rooftop has an incredible location and beautiful views, but hospitality is about more than scenery. What should have been an enjoyable evening ended with us feeling unwelcome and rushed out after already investing significant time and money into the experience. The view earns five stars. Unfortunately, the service, timing, and management of this situation did not.

The restaurant was located in a multi-floor home on Wesley Lake, just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Cookman Avenue. The first floor was more of a bar and lounge, and they had a live jazz band on the evening we visited. We checked in with the hostess and were escorted up to the second floor dining room, which was a charming spot that was breezy and comfortable, yet refined. The floor also had its own bar. Our server was on top of things, but was also clearly newer to the place. Regardless, once we got settled, she took our drink orders, which had taken us some time to decide on since the menu was creative and vast. I went with A Sidecar Named Desire, which included Courvoisier VSOP, Cointreau, Chinola passionfruit liqueur, and fresh lemon juice. I adore passion fruit and had always liked sidecars as well, so I figured it was worth a try, and I loved it! It had a good balance of tart sweetness and smokiness. My friend similarly enjoyed her spicy margarita, and we both imbibed while picking on some bread and herb butter. For our meal, we decided to start by sharing the Greek Salad, which was a massive bowl of romaine topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, red onions, and Kalamata olives. We left off the feta cheese, but enjoyed the seasoned dressing made of red wine vinegar, honey, salt, oregano, and olive oil. It was a fresh and flavorful mix of vegetables that was a pleasure to eat. The entree options were endless and offered something for everyone. I wound up going with the Chilean Sea Bass, which was served over sweet onions and potatoes in a tomato herb reduction. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. It was a light and tasty dish that seemed perfect for the Spring season. After our meals we were a bit too full for dessert, but we decided to get a second round of drinks, mainly because I was dying to try their Pistachio Espresso-Tini. Wow, was that drink delicious! It blended Ketel One Vodka, Mozart White Chocolate Liqueur, natural pistachio flavor, and fresh espresso. The coffee notes were not super prevalent, but the creaminess, nuttiness was the real highlight. It was a decadent way to end a delicious meal. After we settled the bill and headed downstairs, I noticed several bowls of after-dinner mints, which were a nice touch. From the relaxed atmosphere to the interesting and expansive menu, Moonstruck was a terrific option for our Asbury dinner experience.

Our server, Michael, provided by far the worst service we've ever received. He appeared to be under the influence of something, as he spent long periods simply standing around making odd faces while our table and several others waited and waited for him to acknowledge us. We were left wondering if anyone was going to take care of us. When my husband politely asked about our meal, Michael became rude instead of apologetic or helpful. The food itself had good flavor, but it arrived cold, like it was not served right away, which was disappointing. To end the meal, we ordered a cappuccino, but it was so poorly made that it tasted like nothing but warm milk. It was completely undrinkable. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've always loved Moonstruck. It's been one of my favorite restaurants because of its excellent food and outstanding service. If this is the level of service the new owners are willing to accept, I worry about the restaurant's future. I truly hope management addresses these issues because Moonstruck has always been top notch!
