    Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast

I ordered the signature Gouda Choice and my husband got the biscuits and gravy. Both were delicious! Our waitress was extremely nice as well. The restaurant itself was cozy and warm :)

Hello. Woke up this fine Sunday and wanted a good breakfast. My friends and I then stumbled upton this fine establishment. We ordered the french toast - 10/10, tacos - 7/10, and pancakes - 5/10 (not my style but my friend thoroughly enjoyed - fake maple syrup though). Would recommend this to friends and family. Very happy with my purchases today.

    Benny's Bonanza Breakfast

Dependable breakfast food! I enjoyed my first time. Be mindful that there's going to be a wait on a Saturday morning, the place is kinda tight/small and loud. I ordered Benny's Bonanza breakfast because I knew it was going to be a lot of food that I could split between a few meals. The bacon was nice and crispy, sausage link had a great flavor and texture, potatoes were cooked and seasoned pretty well. It also came with eggs cooked how you wanted. They scramble them kinda hard. Croissant is nice and soft, cornbread is decent but wouldn't get again, pancake was okay (texture is kinda crumbly). I think if I had the pancakes again I would ask for them to be brought out hot. By the time they got to me they were very room temp and not that good. Someone else had pancakes that came out hot and they tasted much better. Waffle was pretty okay, don't know if I would order one by itself. French toast was good, but I prefer brioche over challah bread. Everyone else enjoyed their food. I would definitely go again! It just seems like a dependable breakfast spot.

Loved all the fixings on that Bloody Mary! ...just wished there was as much vodka to go with it. Womp.

This one is a toughie, not as straightforward. Food: solid. Appreciated the full, robust menu with a lot of different choices. From healthy to indulgent, breakfast to more lunch. Good prices. Actual taste of the food: also good! Good-sized portions. Was bummed that the biscuits come in frozen and only baked on site for a breakfast place but appreciate them having the option. The Bloody Mary's: so much potential. We were pumped when they came out however when we (two petite women) were able to sip them down so easily, it was clear that the vodka content in them was basically non-existent. Bummer for a $12 tomato juice. Service: They were packed and so it was great to be sat quickly at a clean table. Food also came out quickly. Actual table service: eh. Our waitress didn't really seem to enjoy serving us, somehow. Very 'check the box' service without actually caring about providing friendly, attentive service. Like I said, they were packed so am trying to give her some grace. Overall I'd definitely go back... hoping for another waiter and skipping the Bloody Mary. ...maybe takeout is the answer?

    Pancakes falling apart and dry

Do not go here for pancakes!!! Very dry, falling apart, no flavor. Cook is not using enough egg. The pancakes were also burnt. They tasted like cardboard. We were not able to finish our food. Also restaurant very loud. You have to speak up in order to be able to hear one another. You are better off going to an ihop.

Chicken Biscuit Benedict Eggs Benedict Breakfast
    Jacintha T.

Chicken Biscuit Benedict I Cynivised this by adding extra gravy and hollandaise, which I am glad I did since you don't get a lot, might just be a carryout thing. The eggs are poached perfectly in little half dome shapes. Chicken was overcooked and dry presenting like it was warmed up. Ot also lacked seasoning. I like the cheesy flavor to the hollandaise sauce. The biscuit tasted and presented like it was a day old maybe just sat under heat lamp too long? The fried potatoes tasted like they were par boiled first and then placed on the grill, which to me isn't the same flavor, taste and texture as true fried potatoes. Service was friendly. While this didn't feed my soul, maybe it feeds yours?

My husband and I recently went here for breakfast. We went on a weekday and, while it was crowded, we were seated right away. Our server was friendly and polite. She came to our table to take our drink order just moments after we sat down. While the menu had various different options on it, it was not overly unique. Most of the items are the same breakfast options you would get at many other restaurants. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was not on the bone. It was chicken tenders. He knew this based on the description on the menu, but it is still disappointing. Not many restaurants offer chicken and waffles with chicken on the bone. My husband said the chicken tenders were seasoned fine. He also said that the coding was nice and crisp. He did not have much to say about the waffle quarters because they were pretty averaged to what you would get at most restaurants. I ordered the strawberries and cream French toast. The cream was simply whipped cream, and the strawberries were sliced, fresh strawberries. I have a choice between those or a strawberry compote. In retrospect, I should have gotten the compote. My breakfast was fine, but slightly underwhelming. I was hoping they would have a stuffed French toast option. There was nothing wrong with our experience, however, for a restaurant that was featured on the Food Network, I was not able to figure out what makes them over above. Again, it was not a bad experience at all. However, it was basic breakfast fare.

We have been here several times and have always been happy with our food and service. First things first, the chai latte here is the BEST. I would literally come just for chai takeout if I could. It is seriously amazing-- better than Starbucks, DD, you name it! We have had a variety of items but I stick to classic eggs, home fries, toast, Benedicts. Last time my husband branched out and had the biscuits and sausage gravy but it wasn't our favorite. Overall, it's consistently good. Service can be a little hit or miss, but usually it's pretty good. They are usually always swamped while we're there, which is why I truly understand how service can sometimes be a smidge slow. My husband, my daughter, and I will definitely be back for more sit down breakfasts here!

First time here, and I would for sure return . Great location with plenty of parking . The service and wait time to be serviced is beyond satisfactory. The food is beyond fulfilling. The French toast was for sure my favorite. The menu was reasonably priced . Nice spot to come eat and to get some work done if needed . Clean and very welcoming .

Usually has such long wait times but was lucky to get in twice this week! One with no wait and one with a 20 minute wait (which was understandable as that time we were a party of 7). The large portion size is fantastic for the prices. I got a breakfast sandwich and the biscuits and gravy. Neither are bad, but they could use a touch of quality control so I'm giving it 4/5 stars. My biscuits under the gravy were tough and there wasnt much seasoning on either dish. The hot cocoa was delicious! A great place to catch up with friends and warm your insides!

    Monte Christo
    Cara D.

OMG. This place was fabulous. Oh I guess I should write more. I had the Monte christo with the home fries and I couldn't want more. It was a little bit of a twist from what I have had before being on pretzel bread with a mustard sauces drizzle but it was sweet, savory, crunchy and chewy all in the right places. Large portions and excellent quality. The only thing I'd note is it is a smaller venue and noisy. Despite the crowd service was good and we were checked on multiple times during the meal. The smaller venue also means most likely a wait (we came at 1050 and had about a 30 minute wait) but still worth it!

02/20/26 5 Stars **…read more Wife and I were in Annapolis for a doctor's appointment, and afterwards she asked, "Where are you taking me for lunch?" I jumped on Yelp and started searching. I had heard about a seafood place in Severna Park, but I wasn't in the mood for seafood. That's when I came across Betty Lou's. As soon as I looked at the food photos, I knew that's where we were headed. It was about a 20 minute ride from Annapolis not bad at all. Betty Lou's is located in a shopping center. There were a few cars in the lot when we pulled up, but I wasn't sure if they were there for the restaurant or other businesses nearby. When we walked in, there was one person sitting at the bar. We asked if we could sit there, and the bartender (don't remember her name) was very pleasant and welcoming. She thanked us for coming in, and when I mentioned I found the place on Yelp, she explained that everything is made fresh to order. They have an excellent selection of craft drinks on the menu, the assortment of cocktails and wines that look very good. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I had the Jimmy Red Old Fashioned. The drink looked fantastic, and she took her time carefully measuring each ingredient. That's how cocktails are supposed to be made balanced and flavorful, not just tasting like straight liquor. If I wanted that, I'd just order bourbon neat. For lunch, my wife ordered the meatloaf with collard greens and roasted potatoes. I had already decided on the chicken pot pie after seeing it online. I did find it a little strange they don't offer mashed potatoes as a side with meatloaf, that would've made it a home run in my opinion. When the food arrived, everything looked excellent. The pot pie was larger than I expected compared to the pictures, and the meatloaf was a generous portion as well. After the first bite, I can honestly say it was one of the best chicken pot pies I've had loaded with tender chicken, carrots, onions, celery, and a rich, flavorful gravy. And the pastry crust? The BEST I've ever had. It was big enough that I had leftovers for dinner. My wife's meatloaf was tender and flavorful, and the collard greens were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The roasted potatoes were just okay again, mashed would've put it over the top but that's just personal preference. She also had plenty leftovers for dinner. The food was great, the décor was nicely done, and the service was excellent. If this place were closer to home, it would definitely be a regular spot for us. We need something like this down in Calvert County. Overall, if you're looking for a great meal and well-crafted drinks, Betty Lou's is absolutely worth the drive even if you live a little ways away.

She had been there for lunch and was quite impressed with it. We are always looking for new, small business type places to dine, so we certainly were game to try it. It's a normal store front in a strip mall, but upon entering, you are transported to a shabby chic sort of country vibe restaurant. My friend had made a reservation, however on a Wednesday night, I am sure we probably could have walked right in. There is a bar with drinks and the vibe is just really warm and cozy. Our waitress came over with water and specials on the menu. Definitely were not rushed in any way. We ordered a pork belly appetizer which was splendid! Really enjoyed it! Very flavorful and cooked correctly, something that a lot of places we go for pork belly seem to not be able to accomplish. All of us ordered something different. One of the other reasons my friend selected this restaurant is that my husband is a recently diagnosed no gluten kind of guy and Betty Lou's has a number of selections that are gluten free. He selected shrimp and grits, my friend got meatloaf and I had a gluten fried chicken. All of them along with the sides were magnificent! I had to have a to go box and I had the rest for lunch the next day. Hubby cleaned his plate and my friend has a very small appetite these days, so I am sure she is still eating on hers. The pricing for the quality and quantity of food I thought was fair. The ambience was really stellar and we were never rushed out. Our server was fantastic! Desserts sounded fantastic, but there was no room. I am really looking forward to going back down to try some other foods soon! Give this a try....it's a Pasadena gem!

Funny thing is the night they offered that, I had made it for my husband and he had the leftovers for his lunch, so he opted for a salad that night. In the restaurants defense, as someone that makes the dish, it takes some space to marinate the meat for a few days and maybe that's the problem....but honestly I tasted the gravy on her dish and it was great, so I understand her disappointment and maybe Jimmy's needs to reevaluate having that or finding a way to accommodate other diners. So we went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We are always looking for places to eat on the weekends, and there are just not enough breakfast places in the area. We walked in at around 8 and they still weren't real busy. We got a nice booth and were served coffee and our server got our order pretty quick. Johnny's is diner like, so everything is on your table ready to go....and what I really liked is that I didn't have to ask anyone to get a Tabasco sauce for me. It was already on the table! Both my husband and I ordered sausage and swiss omelettes. They both came out cooked done and hot with just the right about of cheese. I know a lot of places we go seem to be skimping on that, but we want to taste it in our bite and we did! Our server refilled our coffee and was very pleasant. There is nothing like the hometown vibe that are in small restaurants and this one is no exception.
