This quaint, intimate venue boasts more seating outside than inside. From the super-catchy tunes to the fresh brewed coffee, this uber-friendly restaurant is a local's favorite. We were lucky to be in the area before the crowds but I can seriously see long lines for this home style venue. All your breakfast favorites and then some. Reasonably priced, street parking available but know it's only for 2 hours. Patio seating with umbrellas, pleasant staff and an all round great experience. A must visit place if you come on up. We WILL be back for sure.

Always a great meal and great vibe when we go to The Shack. It's always a "must do" stop while we're in Bolton Landing. Only wish they would bring back the soft serve, but the food is still really good.

Adequate food. Outdoor seating is nice and it's also pet friendly. A few parking spots in front, also street parking. Ok back to the food- I had the Eggs Oscar which is a take on Eggs Benedict with crab meat instead of Canadian bacon. It was just ok. Very bland and the consistency of the crab is like that of tuna fish in the can. The Béarnaise sauce was very bland. Dry English muffin and tasteless home fries. My wife ordered the steak and eggs and said the same- very bland. The toast was burned. I had a pineapple mimosa which was more juice than anything. She had a cranberry mimosa and it was more of the same. The food lacks love and flavor. The bathroom needs to be minded. That said, the staff is friendly. Would I go back? No.

The shack was ok, seating took time although we ultimately sat at a table that had been open all 59 minutes of our 59 minute wait, no lunch during breakfast and no breakfast during lunch (Guess one chef does breakfast one lunch? I know right imagine a person who could flip a burger and a pancake?)

Eggs Oscar... which is eggs Benedict with crabmeat - no idea what this was.

Eggs cushon and eggs caprese on the deck. Great music and service. Tiny bit of lake view.

I'm 99% sure they just heated up the roast beef for the deli sandwich and pretended it was a cheesesteak.

I had the frozen huckleberry lemonade adult drink special which was very tasty, although a bit challenging to drink for a bit (it was too frozen). My son got the chicken nuggies with fries. It came out hot and fries were crispy. Actually everything came out super fast as they had just opened and maybe they weren't too busy. I ordered the pretzel sticks with queso. Similar to my brother who got the nachos, there were diminishing returns in that it was better while it was warm and while the texture of the cheese was better. The pretzels were very salty. My sister-in-law enjoyed her chicken sandwich. The clam chowder and the steamed clams were fantastic. I'd highly recommend the soup and the shrimp dish that my wife had also wasn't bad. The cold lobster roll for $35 was not worth it in my opinion as it was more of a lobster salad. The view is fantastic here and the vibes are pretty good so overall a worthwhile stop if you are in the lake George region. But it is important to keep in mind that this on the nicer side and prices are correspondingly higher.

We ordered the Clam Chowder, Blackened Mahi Mahi, and the Seafood Scampi. The clam chowder and mahi mahi were decent--not amazing, but not bad either. The seafood scampi, however, was very bland and lacked the flavor I expected, especially for the price. One of the main reasons we chose this restaurant was to enjoy the view of the lake. Before being seated, we were told we would have a table right by the water. That didn't happen. Later, we noticed a lakeside table open up and asked if we could move, but was denied. The service also left a lot to be desired. Our waitress checked on us only once shortly after the food arrived. After that she essentially disappeared until it was time to hand the bill. Meanwhile, we watched her regularly check in on other tables. Both of our water glasses sat empty for quite a while, and no one came by to offer refills or see how everything was. I don't know what it was but looking back, I was too generous even tipping her at all! Even an average Chinese buffet server gives better service! There's no way they'll see me again. I regret giving them my money.

One entree was the crab cake, which was mostly filler and not crab, and came out so cold it was inedible. The second was the Baja fish tacos, which were cold and chewy (we also ordered them with fries which we never got). When the waiter came to check on how we were doing we let him know we were unhappy and he said he would get a manager, which he never did, and just brought the check. We asked for the manager to come over & he didn't apologize or offer a solution to rectify the situation he just kept saying "I hear you, I understand". Finally, when we asked him what was going to be done about the situation he said "I'll take half off of the bill", so we handed him the credit card with the original bill. He came back, gave us back our card and the new bill. The new bill did not have half taken off, it had half taken off of the two entrees we had an issue with. As we got up, the waiter came running over to say "we didn't run your card that's just the new bill". Overall, the food wasn't good but the service and management is what was worse. The manager was very dismissive and not helpful at all. I would steer clear of this restaurant at all costs !

I'd come back just for the rolls, they were so soft, fluffy, and light with the perfect flaky salt on top to balance with the whipped honey butter. Delicious! Everything else was also great, the hanger steak is also tender and loved the hash that came with it and the crab spaghetti had ample crab meat in it. Presentation was gorgeous. Love the seasonal menus and you really can't go wrong with anything here. We skipped out on dessert but I'm sure there's great options too. Highly recommend and hope to be back!

The wraparound porch is just so nice to sit outside and eat in warm weather. They really utilize the space well, as it's covered in colder months so you can still sit there. I was here for brunch on Mother's Day with reservations and was seated promptly. Due to the holiday, parking was not possible in their lot as it can only take a few cars. No matter, as we were able to park nearby. Their brunch menu had plenty to choose from. You were given these small carrot cake muffins to start, then a choice of starter and main along with dessert, wow! You also had a few cocktails to choose from and you could also swap out for a mocktail too. It was extremely busy but the staff was attentive and handled our orders with ease. Their attention to detail was so nice. For starters we had a strawberry salad, French onion soup, tuna tartare, coconut shrimp. For mains, the burger, salmon Benedict, chicken and waffles and a Polynesian style breakfast bowl with coconut shrimp, sticky rice, pineapple and greens. Lastly on a full tummy we had coffee with chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake and peanut butter cheesecake. Spending the morning here for brunch was the perfect way to kick off the day. Brunch was enjoyed by all. On a side note, I've also had dinner here and you can expect the same wonderful experience. I'll be back again!
