I have visited the Bright Spot twice since the reopening and have had poor experiences on both visits. The place is devoid of any organization or management, the prices are extremely high, and the food is bland and not very high quality. I won't even touch on the service, which was probably some of the poorest I have ever had (on both occasions). My first experience was dinner. I waited a very long time while the 10 waitress ran around acting like they had no clue what was going on. The overstaffed bar was moving so slow I waited 25 minutes for a bottle of beer. I saw what appeared to be at least 3 bartenders all of whom were doing nothing but gossiping. Food was decent but not great for the price or quality. Second trip was breakfast. Again, over staffed the wait staff was arguing over who got our table (probably 6 wait staff and 2 tables dining) and finally after it was decided we had 2 different people still arguing over who got to serve us. The biscuits and gravy was gross. Not an ounce of sausage to be seen in the sausage gravy and it tasted like flour. The biscuits were okay. I've made better from a packet and a can of biscuits really. The place inside is beautiful. Its clean, classy and appears to have its stuff together. However you quickly see that is not what's really going on there. Prices are to high for the level of service and quality and overall I would not return. read more

Went for dinner Friday night with my family and parents. It was fantastic! The bread was warm and soft. I almost wanted to the entire loaf. My husband ordered the ribs. Delicious! My mother and I got the fried shrimp. They were very good. We all enjoyed our salads. They were fresh and the salad dressing (honey mustard and ranch) tasted homemade. My dad ordered the homemade vegetable soup with a tomato base. He loved it and wanted all of us to taste it. We enjoyed our dinner and the service we received. The atmosphere is old Wild West. It was so cool to see old pictures of Bisbee, school children and the mine. I love a place with history. We will definitely be back! read more

We had no reservations on Fathers Day but took a chance anyway. So glad we did. They were very busy but accomodated us. We sat in the bar where the service was excellent. I came in from L.A. to visit my best friend who lives out in this area, He told me about this new little steak place that opened up recently that we should try... I work in the restaurant industry and have for MANY years and honestly dont like to go out for steak cause I can do it better at home! NOT HERE!!! A friend and I decided to try the Brite Spot Wednesday night for dinner. Very nice atmosphere. Seated right away, we were ready for a lovely dinner. That's where it all went south. The food was bland and terribly overpriced!! The server was polite but, very forgetful. Our salads arrived a half an hour after we had ordered and five minutes before our entrees. There was clearly no organization between the staff members. A bit more training may be in order for the staff. I see great potential but, it needs some fine tuning. read more

Sharon and the ladies from Lone star which was next to Ricardos have moved down the road to the The Bright Spot. They have reopened this old landmark and brought their delicious home style food for breakfast and lunch. I can't speak for the dinner fare yet, but breakfast and lunch is as good as its always been. Its nice to see familiar faces, and even the new wait staff is friendly and attentive. There is a full bat that opens at 10 and a sporting event on the tv. Off to a great start!! read more

My daughter and husband treated me to a night out for my birthday. What a surprise that I could enjoy terrific food (mine, prime rib, hers, filet mignon,and his, "The Marshal.) I was too busy dancing to notice what was on his plate, I'm sorry to say, I only know he loved it. The music and the dancing is what made it over the top for me, because it's the first place I've been able to go and enjoy myself in a truly friendly atmosphere with dancing and nothing to spoil the fun! It was more like a party with friends that actually like each other. Service was great, too, without being obtrusive, just there filling water glasses and the like. I hope to go back again. I didn't now I had it in me to have so much fun! read more

Several years back a fellow Warrant Officer and I decided to hike Corona National Forrest. When we were about halfway to the top of the mountain, we were attacked by killer bees. The swarm sounded like a small train coming at us. The cloud of bees was like the size of a canopy on a large tree. We ran as fast as we could up the mountain with adrenaline pushing us hard. At around 8,500 feet we finally could not go any further. We stopped and assessed the damage. My fellow Warrant Officer has at least 35 bee stings, and I had approximately 20. We decided to finish our hike and go down a canyon if we saw bees coming down. We didn't, and we were very hungry so we decided to stop at the Bright Spot on the way back to Fort Huachuca. I don't know if it was because of our experience on the mountain, but the steak I ordered was the best I had ever had. We also ordered several shots of whiskey to kill the pain of the bee stings, which may have contributed to how good the steak was. The service was also fantastic. I will never forget the Bright Spot. I hope to come back for a visit someday. read more

I usually don't write reviews, actually this is my first one. When we first walked in the place seems nice , spacious but no TVs. I'm writing this review in real time .The server was super nice, no beer on tap, but decent selection in bottles though. Do not get the jalapeno poppers...I say again say away from jalapeno poppers, they tasted like they were freezer burnt. I had the new York strip MR, and my girl had the baby back ribs, the steak was good and the ribs fahgettaboudit! They fell off the bone, some of the best ribs we've ever had. My girl said they were perfectly cooked. I had potatoes wedges and the beans which were OK...my girl didn't like the beans, she thought they were watery, not much flavor. The is a little high. The first time I went here food was amazing, gave 5 star review. The second time not so much. Steak was under cooked, my fried chicken was cold and borderline raw in the center, and service was horrible. The best part was the waitress said she would call the owner to see if she could not charge me for the chicken I didn't eat...as if I would pay for a meal that was so bad I didn't eat it. We were very excited when they decided to reopen the Bright Spot. Went for dinner, the excitement ended there. Ordered 2 rib dinners. Food was just OK not something I would ever pay 18$ a plate for again. Service was incredibly slow, and for absolutely no reason maybe 10 tables with people at them in the entire restaurant. Had to ask for refills on drinks, the server was apologetic, however never attempted to make the service better. After a hour in a half we finally get our bill, pay, and leave and 2 of the employees are standing within 5 feet of the front door smoking. Very offensive and extremely unprofessional. What this place needs is a good manager. At the rate they are going the Bright Spot will be sure to close again. read more

The ribeye I had tonight is one of the best I've ever had! Ordered medium rare, and actually served that way! My fiancé ordered ribs, and they were also cooked perfectly. The salad was crisp and fresh, the cowboy beans were delicious, and the price was extremely affordable! If you like The Steak Out you will love this place!!! read more

Please note - the BRITE Spot is under NEW management as of August 2014. We have visited twice since Aug. 20, and both times had an excellent experience. The ribs are AWESOME, the prime rib melts in your mouth, and the rib eye steak is excellent. Service was great, food brought out in a timely manner, and staff is friendly and attentive. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome. Mary was a great waitress and knew the menu from front to back. The cactus cutters were fantastic and the fish was very fresh. Mary overheard me say I was cold and immediately turned the heater up. We had a great time and I'm positive you will to. read more

Sorry to disagree, we have been waiting for the Bright Spot to reopen with much joy, but it was a disaster tonight. Arrive at 645 not too busy, a party of 4. Took a long time to get our drinks, the coke ordered was given to me with a lemon on the glass, I had ordered tea, put my usual sugar in the dring and it fizzed ugh sugared coke. Waitress finally came by and reordered the tea, when it arrived there were pink packs and white packs in the sweetener container, keep in mind it is sort of dark in the dinning room, I put in the white packets and took a few drinks, something was not right, it was artificial sweetener, I have an allergy to this.Ordered 2 prime ribs and 2 bbq ribs, prime ribs dinners were so dry you could not cut them with a knife. ribs dinners were good I ask for a replacement for my prime rib, the other party decided to just eat his, waitress forgot about my reorder and my ribs arrived as the plates were being cleared. . Arrived home and now I have stomach cramps from the artificial sweeteners, just the topper to a $80 meal disaster. read more

We went to the Bright Spot today for dinner and the food was good but then we got disgusted when we saw a about a dozen of cockroaches running around on the carpet. I wonder what the kitchen looks like, very disappointed and we will not go back there again. And service was a little bit slow too. read more

My experience here was so awful that I created a yelp account just to warn everyone to stay away. My family and I came in as a group of four to see the restaurant less than half full. after a few minutes of busy waitresses walking around we were finally greeted and shown to our seats. At first everything was fine, she brought us our menus and then waters, a few minutes later she returns to see if we wanted anything else to drink and take our orders. after they were taken we waited a half hour, till one of us saw another waitress walk by (because ours was nowhere to be seen for at least 20 min). Our waitress returned saying that they were busy and that she forgot.(because chatting behind the bar with the bar tender is more important than customer service). She then rushed out with our salads and soup( which to be frank tasted canned). 10 minutes or so later she returned with our entrees which had several problems (like my father being jipped on his number of fish fillets), my burnt steak, and tasteless 'wild rice' (which seemed to just be steamed rice); however seeing how long things took and that we had invested so much time we decided to stick it out. After delivering our food and refilling our water the waitress disappeared yet again to go chat with the bartender (while the other waitresses were actually busy running back and forth). 15 minutes after everyone had finished eating the waitress was still nowhere to be seen. So we decided to go to the podium from which people are seated to hopefully get someones attention, another waitress (whom we had clearly seen busily working) went out of her way to pry our waitress out of the wood work so that we could pay our bill. Overall, the service was awful, the food was ill prepared, and the menu was clearly overpriced. I certainly hope the owners address these problems. read more

5/14/2014 - Sorry, but very disappointed. The establishment is closed on Tuesday but Management may want to consider closing Mon-Wed for training purposes. Waitress was very polite but appeared a bit overwhelmed for our table of 7, and previous reviews have also been critical of server performance. The wait was simply PAINFUL folks. Our food took 65 minutes to arrive after the last order was taken hostage. The steaks were just fair, not the worst, but certainly not the best by any stretch of the imagination. Let's put it this way, Texas Roadhouse remains King when it comes to steak in this area. Ribs were indeed tasty, but not the fall of the bone ribs that we truly loved in past years prior to this "revamped" re-opening. Prices are perhaps a little on the high side compared to in-town venues, but given the location and the unique atmosphere, which by the way is quite pleasant, and you can have a conversation without shouting over one another, so I'll refrain from chastising the higher menu cost. The Men's restroom could use some work as a restroom (in my opinion) is a direct reflection on the restaurant. On the PLUS side, the bar area seemed pretty darn good, to include Karaoke entertainment this particular Wednesday evening. Probably will not return anytime soon, but not opposed to giving this place one more opportunity to win me back if subsequent reviews and word-of-mouths improve drastically. Was really looking forward to the GLORY years of the Brite Spot, but it was not to be this particular visit. I wish the Brite Spot the very best in the future and sincerely hope things get better and the business flourishes. read more
