I have been living in Seattle for 4 months now and whilst I'm enjoying the new foods over here I am really missing three things - English bacon, sausage rolls and Robinsons squash. So to say I was excited when I heard about the British pantry was an understatement. First time I ate here was on Valentine's day and they had a Prime Rib special dinner. The dessert was a toffee cake with custard and holy moley that was good! Yum! Other things I've tried here are Fish and Chips (Yum!), bangers and mash (yum!). I also tried the Chips with Curry sauce, but I was kind of *meh* on the curry sauce. I guess I'm not British ha! After reading all your reviews, I really want to come back for the breakfast! Also the Guinness flows freely here and that's always a plus. I found the staff to be charming and accommodating -even when I asked for horseradish, which I guess isn't really a thing in Britain? You should try it! I've only been there once, but I would go there again. It's a restaurant adjacent to their bakery/pantry. The restaurant is kind of cute, british-style. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich. This place is great! I mostly rave about the fresh pastries/baked items, but you can get all manner of foods/food ingredients for a variety of different English treats. The bakery, however, holds some delicious treats! The sausage rolls are fantastic! Take some home and pop them in the microwave for a few seconds and yum-o! The curry "pies" are great and flaky and have a great mild curry flavor. The dessert pastries are also great. There's great tarts and especially the custard filled "mini-pies" whose crusts just fall apart upon taking a bite. This is a great place to check out and is becoming a bit more well-known location in Redmond. It's just a couple blocks from the Redmond Transit Center. Met a client here for lunch one Saturday. It's a small, inviting place attached to the Three Lions Pub. Because of this, I knew that the fish and chips would be excellent and I was right. I don't know how they get their fish to taste so fresh and good, but, bar none, The British Pantry (Three Lions Pub) have the best fish and chips around. read more

Our family has been eating here since we moved to Redmond in 1982. This is our "go-to" place for family gatherings and celebrations. My husband is British so he feels right at home. The food is good, typical British food, very satisfying. The tea is wonderful, coming to the table in a teapot with a nice cozy, each being different and charming. We love the ladies that serve us, They are always warm and welcoming, and we are always greeted with a smile. The service is a good mixture of attentiveness and time for a slow, thoughtful dinner conversation. Even our granddaughter loves it there because they treat her just a courteously as us grown-ups! The Pub is just as much fun, and the food is the same, so this is a good choice if you want a more casual atmosphere, or want some great British food when the restaurant is closed. The store is amazing! All the great fresh goodies in the case make you're mouth water. There are pastries, pasties and pies, cheeses, and other great choices. There are also all the packaged foods from England that are hard to find elsewhere. The selection of teapots and teacups is fun to look at. If you want a British newspaper, they have that as well. We shop here to send a Christmas "goodies package" to my British In-Laws who now live in California. In all, if you want anything British, and want to meet some wonderful people, this is the place to go. It will make you think you've taken an flight to England! read more

The food here is delicious! I used to live in England and I missed the food so so much that I was ecstatic to come here. Their pasties are so flaking and flavorful. I just love their selection in the shop as well. I remember loving Cadbury's Mini Heroes when I was little and I was so thrilled that they had them in stock! We went for brunch/breakfast on a super bowl day since none of the food places were around were open. The menu was pretty limited. I ordered a ham and cheese quiche ($11) and my husband ordered a Lancashire Pastry. The taste of the food was pretty average. The quiche came with a side salad which was just plain greens. After the breakfast I walked to the small adjacent gift shop and saw the same quiche available. the quiche was just $3.95. Cant believe they were serving the same quiche with a small side of plain greens for freaking $11. The size of the quiche was pretty small as well. I would not recommend this place to anybody nor will visit there again ! read more

They serve breakfast, lunch, high tea set everyday & brunch on weekends. If you miss English food or grocery, you can find crumpets, ploughmans, scone, Sherpard's pie,...you name it. They also have a small shop by it that you can buy English china, pastry & loose leaves tea, imported biscuit, lemon curd, jam and candy. Lived in England for four years and was able to find some of the items I haven't had in over a decade! Most places that claim to have British food typically carry a small selection of the same items - Maltesers, HP sauce, etc. The British Pantry on the other hand has a very nice selection of hard to find food. read more

Their Lancashire pasties are my dirty little secret. Oh man, they are so tasty. They heat up extremely well in a microwave, too. The pastry casing is so crisp and flaky (my mouth is watering) and the mince (ground beef) and veg filling is ample. I've once had one that had a bit too much sauce/gravy but all the other times the ratio has been perfection. Don't miss their pastries in the adjoining case! Their pastry is so good--flavorful and tender. I love their little apple pies and blueberry tarts. The strawberry and rhubarb pies are also delightful. And at Christmastime I like to get a few of the mince tarts. I also stop here for the Coleman's Shepherd's Pie seasoning packets. Not cheap, but I've not found them cheaper on Amazon, so I am OK giving my $ to this local business. I love to peruse the huge selection of UK sweets, greeting cards and the beautiful china mugs and tea pots. It's a very cute shop. Parking can sometimes be dicey as it's often busy after 5:00. Nevilles at the British Pantry is probably my favorite place in the world for comfort food. My boyfriend and I love their Shepard's Pie, it's so amazing! Moist seasoned ground beef with sliced carrots on top then on top of that mashed potatoes. At dinner comes with a choice of soup or salad and they have some really enjoyable soups. The bread and butter is good, my boyfriend likes how the packets of butter are soft. My father is a fan of the fish and chips. And now since the pub opened up next door they have access to a full bar and can make all sorts of British favorites. I like to come here at least once every couple weeks. read more

Unfortunately, the restaurant was not very good at all. Yes, the scones are tasty but WAY overpriced. You're better off ordering one from the counter and eating it outside than doing sit down which will cost you an arm and a leg. As others have mentioned, there are three operations: a restaurant, store and pub. I have been to all three. The prices are high but as others have mentioned it is less expensive than shipping items yourself. As far as store items, if you don't want certain items they carry, don't buy them. Obviously, they are popular or they wouldn't be displayed. I was amused when one of the reviewers listed everything they aren't interested in. Also, I would suggest talking to the owner about items you do want. Maybe others are interested too and they would consider a shipment. Service at the pub and restaurant can be hit or miss. I have had great service and so-so depending on server. Considering I have also had so-so service at fine restaurants, I don't think it needs to be called out. It is british food so expect accordingly. I think the homemade pasties are nice. My favorite visit was when a tea pot of mine was broken. I had been eyeing a beautiful poppy decorated tea pot for several years in the store. Finally, as a treat I purchased it. I use it whenever I will be having a few cups of tea or friends over. It makes me smile and the quality is worth the extra price. read more

This is a wonderful place, and my absolute favorite shop in the USA. Perfectly charming combination of an excellent pub, well-stocked China shop, a bakery, and even a tiny corner grocery. Yet it has a good selection of the must-have food & drinks & teas & condiments & sweets at reasonable prices, in some cases nearly half of Amazon. The bakery has everything -- battenburg and Eccles cakes, pies, scones, and meat pies. The pub food is of excellent quality and most of the classics are on the menu. The staff is friendly and attentive without being fawning or annoying. The China shop has a good balance of modern and traditional, and a good selection of the little comforts and tools that makes tea an even greater treat, such as pretty trays, teas for one, and strainers. The British Pantry is a treasure, the perfect place for a snack, a meal, or a gift that anyone would love. read more

I can't believe I've only just discovered this shop given that it's been here over 30 years as have I. A pork pie delivered by some visiting Brits who paid homage blew my socks off! Quite literally better that anything I had in 4 years living in London and had pork pies frequently. There is really nothing British about this place, apart from some of the imported stock. Items are very expensive in this shop, and can be more cheaply obtained in other shops. Staff are also pretty rude and ignorant. We've been to this shop on several occasions, once around 6. The door was open and we walked in, as soon as we did, someone at the till simply said, we are closed. What nonsense, if you're closed, shut the door, if people walk in, because you forgot to close the door, simply tell them, like they do in the U.K., sorry we do close at 6, but if you'd like to pick up your shopping since you're here, then I'll close up, or can I help you find something. The restaurant is also barely worth mentioning, grotty, with slow service and dirty tables, staff act as if they don't want to work, and the food is anything but British. In Britain we have a very high standard, and this place is a disgrace to Britain. read more

Oh just walking through this store reminds me of my teenage years growing up in London. I discovered this place a few years back, I can't believe it's been here since the 70s! The selection of candy is amazing, except when they run low! Which seems to happen alot. And the best part? They carry crisps! well they do sometimes, last time they came in I bought a million packets. so good. The staff is really friendly, especially the Sunday night staff! One time I was in visiting and I didn't know my way around the eastside very well and one of the girls actually took the time to write down directions for me! There prices can be a bit steep at times, but sometimes it's worth the extra dough for some Ribena or HobNobs. I love this place! I enjoyed lunch there on Saturday with my sister and brother in law. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The waitress told me they make their own sausage right there -on location. We had great service and the tea was wonderful, as usual. The shop had tons of goodies and snacks from England that are hard to find anywhere else. Of course I had to take home a couple of their individual sized quiche and several tarts and scones to share with my husband. Everything was fresh and delicious. Went in the store yesterday to stock up on Brit groceries. Two shop assistants were working the counter. The young American girl was helpful and friendly. The older British woman was ultra rude and discourteous. I suspect the older one was the owner, so it was worthless complaining. I have been a patron of the British Pantry for 20 years (and Neville's). The food is authentic to my years in England and the quality has been ever consistent over the years. Pasty or Fish & Chips are the lunch time 'go to' food choices for my family. Dinner is excellent prime rib, beef wellington (when it was on the menu), salmon, or a Red Leicester Burger. I love the side salads and the house dressing - brings back fond memories of family and England. Their tea is great and the pot sizes nice. Desserts are great, but we usually pop over to the bakery and buy them for take out since we are a bit full by the end of our meal and tea, so like to save them for later. The shop I like. I buy my Marmite here & only here - they have the jumbo jars, which is what my household needs! Biscuits and Candies, Branstons, oh and christmas puddings at holiday times - YUM!! I have bought a number of touristy items here too - british phone booth banks, key chains, tea scoops & spoons, lap blankets, lots of hedgehog stuff (back when my kids were small), trivets . . . you name it, I've probably bought it for myself or a family member over the years. Reminders of home are nice!! I do wish they would carry the stainless teapots that are the 'not for company' pots from home, but probably not so popular in the US since the patterned china ones are cuter! Maybe if enough of us ask for a limited line to be carried they can find them and stock a couple. I love the pantry & I cannot think of another business in the area that has kept me as a customer for the 20 years I have lived here. Purrrty good. The help is ok, it took kind of a while to get the food, but then I was in a group of five people and we were at the "reserved table" a.k.a. at a table that sat alone partitioned away from the rest of the diners by a wall. It was pretty sweet though, since there was this bookcase with a ton of old books in it that we took out and thumbed through. They serve breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays from like 10 - 12 and then lunch 12 - 4:30 then dinner after that (as it normally goes). It was fairly busy around lunch time, so we decided to reserve a table for the evening. The food looked appetizing, and it was good quality. The chef was nice and let me order a scone with fruit for dinner (it was around 7:30 pm) since I wasn't really hungry. The scone was more of a biscuit and it was lightly toasted. I think there were green grapes in it or something, but it tasted pretty good. The fruit was fresh and the jam was sweet and had a good thick consistancy. The menue looked a little pricey - I didn't really memorize the prices but things ranged $8-$18 I believe. The tea was $1.75, which seemed kind of expensive - you'd think that tea is more like $1.50 or something but whatever. Located next to the main dining area was a little shop in which you could buy candy, lotion, shirts, soda (they had this really good soda - ginger beer - that they served and it was on sale in the store), all sorts of whatnot. The bathroom was a little spare and there was only one toilet (although there was a men's and a women's bathroom). If you have some extra money and feel like spending it on "British" food, you should definitely visit it. read more
