The food was great! The service on the other hand was NOT acceptable. We waited too long for anyone to come to our table, take our order, and the food, and the drinks to come out. We sat around waiting more than we did eating. To top it off, the waiter spilt my dads Margarita all over the table, the floor, and his lap. No one including our waiter helped us clean it up or bring extra napkins. We had to all clean it up together with our own napkins. This restaurant is a 10 out of 10 easy. Because we have a newborn we have to order take out everywhere and what better way to test out a new restaurant by seeing how the take out holds up. Okay, first off, ordering over the phone was such a seamless process. The girl who took the order was polite and well spoken and recommended an appetizer for me. (Which we loved) I ordered the chicken parm dinner and my wife ordered the salmon over Faroe and we shared the sweet potato appetizer. Pick up was easy from the back door parking area. I ran in to grab the food and to also take a peak at the new lay out. I was impressed by how nice and updated everything was. We had dinner for the first time at The Brookdale and the food was delicious! Our server, Naomi, gave stellar recommendations!! We shared the Korean BBQ Birria Tacos and charred zucchini for appetizers! Divine! Then, I had the mushroom pizza and he had the chicken parm! Superb! Oohhh, we can't forget the cocktails! I had the frosé! Yumm! He had the tropical hideaway. Our only suggestion to this drink to make it really TROPICAL... maybe add coconut, mango or pineapple instead of the raspberry liqueur. For months I've tried to make time to stop in and have a nice lunch/dinner at Brookdale, last Saturday if finally happened and here's how it went. For a 2pm on a Saturday it wasn't crowded and seating was available, no wait time. You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating, you won't regret selecting one over. If you decide brunch with a few friends you definitely enjoy the outdoor seating. Now you maybe wondering why I gave The Brookdale three starts. We order the Premio Eggrolls, shrimp & grits, and the chicken Parmesan with garlic season vegetables (broccoli). The Brookdale's take one shrimp and grits is creative and the chorizo compliments the dish. The grits perfectly cooked, rich and creamy. My only issue with the dish, the shrimp was over seasoned. The egg rolls were wonderful, all the ingredients complimented each other. The chicken parmesan was a large (in my opinion too large for brunch). The chicken cutlet well seasoned, flavorful, and nicely breaded. The sauce was delicious and it had the right amount of cheese on top. Unfortunately it was paired with broccoli and that didn't bring the dish together. The taste of the broccoli was unpleasant. For brunch the chicken cutlet could definitely be smaller and paired with something other then broccoli or at least prepare it differently. For those who like chicken parmesan with pasta, nope only vegetables. The lemonade was warm and the ginger ale tasted homemade. I was definitely disappointed with the warm lemonade especially since the shrimp and grits had that cajun kick to it. The dessert menu was limited and pretty basic, chocolate mouse cake, birthday cake, burnt basque cheesecake, and s'more bread pudding, nothing really stood out. Overall I enjoyed my time at the Brookdale. I would definitely give it another shot and try the dinner menu. I'll keep you posted. Ordered take out last night. I had the Caesar salad with steak, which was great. The large Parmesan crisp is always a favorite for me. Wife had the clam pie which she said was unique and very good as well. The thick cut chips and truffle Mayo dip was tasty...hard to stop eating them. I had a glass of wine inside waiting for the food to be ready. Overall the vibe inside is somewhat upscale. The decor, lighting, music reminded me of some la restaurants. Based off our first meals I would recommend. We'll definitely be back to try other menu items. Curious to see if they rotate seasonal menus, or keep a somewhat consistent yearly one. Just a note on precautions taken inside for covid. Every table area had plexiglass barriers up separating them. My son and I had the burger with chips(ranked the best we ever had, it wasn't very large in size but not to small either). The first 2 meals came out then a 3rd meal came out 5 minutes later. Another 10 minutes later and 3 more meals came out. After another 10 minutes our waitress came over and we advised her that we were still missing a meal. Another 7-8 minutes and our final meal came. They did comp us a meal and the food was good. Getting drinks and food was at times challenging. The tuna poke and crab dip were tasty appetizers. The 1 pound mozzarella stick was ok. More of a novelty. I so much want to support local restaurants, but I can't support this one. First time we ate here it OK. Second time, it sucked. Let me tell you why. Saturday night, we had an early reservation. We wait 20 minutes for a waitress to come to our table, and while we were ready to order, she would only take our drink order. Alright, back in 10 minutes with drinks, and now she will take our order... We order buffalo wing appetizer, crispy chicken sandwich and the ribs. Wings come to the table in 10 minutes and are undercooked pink and chewy - gross. In less than 5 minutes, our entrees come. The food runner doesn't see any issue here. Waitress apologizes. Chicken sandwich - tasteless. Ribs tasted like the cooks just didnt care anymore and were just going through the motions. We ask for the check with barely eating anything. Manager comes over and is curious how everything was. I just didnt want to get into it and have to tell him why everything sucked. He did the right thing by taking the entrees off the tab, still charging us for the wings - my fault for not telling him the wings were not cooked. Fine. Still tipped the waitress on what would have been the total bill. Not going back. Don't even want to give a local place another try. read more

If I can give 0 stars I would.I came to eat here with my family and was immediately turned away. We were told they didn't have any tables available, the place was half empty. We asked why we couldn't sit at an empty table the hostess said let me check and she came back and said we could but we had to leave by 7:45pm (giving us about an hour to eat). When we expressed our concern to mgmt, mgmt came back and said it's normal to be given a time limit when eating. I'm not one to write reviews, but I felt the need to review this establishment because it was THAT bad. To begin, my friends and I were celebrating one of our birthdays and wanted to go somewhere special (ohhhhh it was special alright), so we agreed to go to the Brookdale. There were 7 in our party so we made a reservation for 7 (makes sense, right?). We arrive, only to find out that they did not make our reservation when we called, but they sat us right away, great, it's their mistake for not making but I digress....we ordered our appetizers including the cheese stick, the broccoli and the bacon. One would think they would put a decent amount of broccoli on the plate, but we all had to cut the tiny pieces of broccoli apart so we can all get a taste. As we were consuming said broccoli, one of our party goers said "This broccoli tastes weird"....we all took note of it but finished it anyway. The bacon only had 3 tiny strips which was ridiculous considering how much it cost, but again moving on...it was satisfactory at best. Then dinner comes out....I had the fish tacos, they were good but very salty. Another person at the table got the ribs which were stacked higher than her when she stands up, but unfortunately they were so salty she couldn't finish them. Everyone else's dishes were alright. So dinner is done and we move on to dessert. The waitress was very sweet but almost non existent. She left half of the dinner plates on the table while we were consuming the birthday cake for our friend and they remained there on the table as we were leaving as well......who does that??? So we pay the bill.....I must say I regret giving the tip that gave, not knowing what the next two days of my like were going to be like, but anyway.....we pay the bill and leave, and all go our separate ways. I get home and immediately have THE most horrendous stomach pain ever. I had to lay down because I couldn't breathe from the pain. I passed it off as dinner just not agreeing with me (that was an understatement). The next morning I woke up to a barrage of text messages from all of us that went to The Brookdale for dinner the night before, and guess what? We were ALL sick....and I will spare with the details of what we all experienced, but take my word for it when I tell you it was baaaaad....I am EXTREMELY disappointed in this establishment and I am on the brink of calling the health department considering the fact that I paid $100 for a dinner that was just barely "OK" and now I can't even function the next day because I am so sick. My husband and I are new to area and wanted to try a good place to celebrate my 25th birthday with our family. I chose this place strictly because they had THE largest mozzarella stick I've ever seen. With that being a selling point for me, we called and made a reservation for 10. When we first arrived we were seated right in the middle of a loud medium sized room. We were barely able to talk to each other without yelling over the noise. Thankfully our very kind server was able to accommodate switching our table to a nice secluded room were the aesthetic was perfect. 10/10 for the service. Our appetizers were the mozzarella stick, birria Korean taco's, and bang shrimp. All of these were great portions and delicious. For my main entree I ordered the salmon. The salmon was the most disappointing entree the table ordered. Imagine a heavy bean chili at the bottom of the dish with the fillet of salmon on top. It was glazed in what tasted like a beef chili sauce. Myself and one other person at our table ordered it and we were both disappointed after the first bite. tried this place out last night w my wife. first off the space is very appealing and modern. they still currently have both indoor and outdoor dining available. they have a full bar w specialty cocktails and pretty good beer list. my wife had their house made unsweetened iced tea w mint and ginger which was really good and refreshing and I was even able to order a cocktail which isn't on the menu and bartender were able to make it very well (it's called a Southern 75). we started off w a couple of apps. the Tuna poke app and the 1lb mozzarella stick. both were excellent. I thought the stick might of come out not so great considering how big it was but they nailed it. the tuna was seasoned perfectly and was fresh. for our mains we split one of their plain pizzas and their 50/50 burger (beef/bacon blend) with fried egg and cheese w house made potato chips. the burger was cooked perfectly as well as the egg on top. the potato chips were good but were a little under seasoned which is def better then too much. the pizza was probably our least favorite thing we ate. it was ok. the middle of the slice had a lot of flop for a small thin pie and I wish the sauce had more pop to it. idk if they use the same sauce for the mozzarella stick but that sauce was really good and would have been great on the pizza. our server trinity was very polite and she checked on us regularly to make sure everything was going well. the one thing that was a bit annoying was that our drinks took forever to come. idk if it's because they only had one bartender for the whole place or what. we will def be coming back again though and look forward to trying their other foods. read more

Went with my girls for brunch mid week, didn't realize they only serve brunch on weekends so the lunch menu was very limited, especially as one person in the group doesn't eat meat. The drinks were interesting. The clam pizza was really good and so was the chicken sandwich. The Mac and cheese was too thick and ended up being a disappointment, we ordered a large for the table and ended up only taking a bite or two. The service was great, very attentive and friendly. Second time around the burgers were way to salty. Greek salad was disappointing. This time we went to check out the brunch menu. Ordered the shakshuka, side bacon and wings with Carolina gold sauce. The highlights were the great selections of beers and the side bacon. They weren't kidding when they said best bacon ever. The shaskuka was bland. And not saucey enough to cook the eggs. My eggs were raw! Who screws up eggs? It's probably the easiest thing to make. I'm bummed because I really want to like this place but they really need to hire a proper cook to make their interesting menu. Too bad. read more
