Pizza and salad ordered. Half hour after it was supposed to be delivered, only the salad was delivered. When I called the restaurant I was told "that's odd" and that it could be refunded. I told her we still wanted to eat and asked if a new pizza could be made since the other would be cold and was told "no". When I asked how long the delivery would be I was told she didn't know - it was through an app. They need to do a better job of getting the right food to their delivery people. read more

First let me say, the food at the Spa is always delicious, but I placed an online order at 11 and they said it would be ready at 12. I showed up at 12:15 and he order was not ready :/ I told the "manager" that I had placed the order over an hour ago and he said well we only got it 20 minutes ago. I then asked for an ETA on the order and he said as soon as the sandwiches are ready! I tracked my order through their app and the pickup time was 12 and it said ready for pick up, they should fix their online system ASAP. I've picked up food here about three times now. Always friendly staff. Good pizza. But it seems like it's generally not so warm. Tonight I took out pizza slices and they took it right out of the oven... but when I got home a few minutes later they weren't even warm. It's too bad. This is the second time I bought a meal from The Brookline Spa and I am disappointed once again. The first time I purchased buffalo chicken salad and this time I purchased a turkey club. The food is bland and very basic in taste and quality. The buffalo chicken was overly dry and even though it had the buffalo sauce on it, it was still bland. The turkey club although I asked for mayonnaise was dry. Instead of adding quality bacon strips, small pieces of falling apart bacon was added. I couldn't taste the cheese on the sandwich and it cost me a whopping $8.50! I was very disappointed and felt both meals were a waste of my money. The food so far has been far from spa like quality, i.e., less than refreshing. Three stars for service and cleanliness which are important. read more

If you're into sandwiches, this place is a must! They have lots of varieties o this handcrafted and portable meal on delicious breads. We split the fig and pig and the woodland - both excellent! In my opinion, you can't go wrong with ingredients like figs, proscuitto, and blue cheese and this sandwich proved me right yet again! Fresh and generous portion! I do not like eggplant. But I loved it in this sandwich! Super yummy marinade and expertly cooked so I completely forgot what I was eating - had a nice kick to it, too! Never before have I felt the need to write a review about a food delivery order but the customer service I received was horrendous. The gentleman that answered the phone was very rude and short with me. It felt like he couldn't be bothered to take the order and that I was bothering him by calling for delivery. The food itself (onion rings and cheese & pepperoni pizza) was delicious. I would also be wary of there already being a tip on the machine before they get to you, not sure if it's a common thing but I had to go back a screen to adjust the tip because they already had it on there with a higher amount and only wanted my signature. read more

Food is good but wait time is ridiculous. Called in ahead at 2:40 arrived at 3 thinking it would be ready. Food still was by 3:10. I was told the wait would be 15 minutes. I understand they are busy to tell someone the wait time is half the time you actually wait is just unacceptable. Shame because food is good. But every time I come here and order one sandwich wait is 25 minutes even if you call ahead. Advice call 30 minutes in advance from the time you will arrive to pick up. I used to work on the area and was nervous when they closed for renovations. They place just got better. I became a regular and didn't need to even order. Very hit or miss. Have had some decent experiences, but just now was NOT so good. Me and 3 of my friends are currently not feeling so well. The chicken in two of our sandwiches were very chewy, the paninis were barely grilled, the eggplant in the woodland panini was tough to bite, and the fries were all soggy. I came here just about every morning just because I HAD too. Long story short it turned into a tradition to get the bacon egg and cheese every other weekday morning. I can't just the morning staff from the afternoon and evening staff because (again) only went there in the morning to meet a young man and take him to school across the street. The older man at the register all morning has to be the rudest person I've ever met. Doesn't say you're welcome, thank you, have a good day, NOTHING. He's constantly coughing in his hand, and when you ask for a cup for water he just sticks his fingers in it like that's some kind of etiquette some crap hole of another restaurant taught him and he never dropped it. He's only polite to a select few. And usually their conversations consisted of talking about the Yankees or the boston red socks. Food wise, it's okay. I always got a bacon egg and cheese but always had to ask for extra bacon, it's not enough sandwich. (I also always ordered two sandwiches, one with extra bacon one without, and on one occasion I asked him which one was extra bacon and he said "I don't know open it and see") yep.. I find myself eating here many times a week, both breakfast and lunch. I was lukewarm on the new Spa at first but they seem to have hit their stride. Breakfast sandwiches are a little more inventive than the usual breakfast fare (though you can still get a regular bacon/egg/cheese if you prefer) and a steal at $5. The breakfast potatoes are also very yummy and they use Fazenda's tasty coffee. Salads are fantastic - the chicken caesar uses a well-season tasty chicken breast which flavors the salad so well (and mmm, those garlicky buttery croutons) and the pacific beach is a hefty portion of greens, goat cheese and balsamic. You can count on great conversation if you get there during a quiet period and then you can top it all off with a Sugar Bakery cookie! Love this place. read more

We have been using Brookline Sp for pizza delivery. Pizza is OK (not great but not bad either), but the service is absolutely horrible. First time, the pizza delivery was delayed more than an hour (we ordered the pizza in the morning, for delivery for dinner, so they had enough time to coordinate). By the time it was delivered, pizza was cold. Second time, we ordered pizza + onion ring. We only received onion ring. The third time, we only received pizza, no onion ring. Four time, we did not get a delivery for 30 min, and called. They said that Grubhub did not pick it up. We checked with Grubhub and they said that it is their responsibility to deliver. When we went to pick it up, they said several conflicting things (it should have been already delivered, but a few seconds later, the pizza was stiill in the store, but wait, don't come to the store etc etc). Eventually, when I went in, the pizza was in the delivery vehicle. They kept saying that it was a busy day, whether I want to cancel it, but with no single apology. They they called the driver to deliver our pizza. It then went to a wrong address. So this time it took nearly an hour and 15 min delayed. To their credit, they reimbursed the whole thing. However, based on the bad customer service (to put it mildly) and repeated order mix ups, we will never use this place anymore. In all cases, the orders were placed several hours in advance and on line. so no chance of miscommunication etc. I recommend not to order from this place, especially for delivery. read more

Cute little "hole in the wall" diner with a shiny aluminum ceiling and funky music playing on the radio. A trendy logo and a huge menu makes this place attractive to passersby. Thinking that I was going to get a massage with my sandwich (get it? it's a spa!), I was surprised to see the prices were more than reasonable, especially considering the SIZE of the sub I ordered. I enjoyed a tasty - not overly greasy - cheeseburger sub, and the boyf ordered a prosciutto/fig panini that he is quoted as describing "delicious, yet far too much prosciutto" (a criticism that I take issue with). My only complaint was that the cheeseburger patties were overflowing from the top of the sandwich to the point that I was barely able to eat it. Coupled with the generous amount of ketchup I self-administered, it was nearly impossible to eat without ending the meal with a lap full of grilled onions. I've been looking for good pizza in Boston for many years. Growing up in NYC, i have been spoiled. Only pizza from Italy surpasses what you can get in the NY to Philly corridor. I discovered the pizza at Brookline Spa rather late. While it is not my favorite of all time, it is consistently good. The pizza does not have a House of Pizza thick or burned cracker crust. The crust is relatively thin, moist, and chewy. The toppings are fresh and flavorful, not greasy. The prices are quite reasonable, far less than the "gourmet" pizzas for one. The Spa is one of my few go-to places for pizza in the Boston area. read more
