1. Just moved to the area from New York, where we do not suffer fools or their underwhelming food. 2. The food in this establishment was phenomenal. I had been enduring the steak and eggs at Waffle House. NO COMPARISON!!! The steak at The Brunch Apothecary was very well seasoned and has a nice sear to it. I had scrambled eggs with GOUDA !!! Do you know how hard it is to find a place that has more than American, cheddar and Swiss?!?! Damned near impossible!!! 3. Staff was very friendly and attentive. 4. My only concern is that there is not enough signage, or advertisement to let new comers, visitors, or lifelong residents know that this quaint little gem is here. 5. But honestly, the biscuits are a bit much.. they have a weird consistency where it just mashed together in your mouth and stuck to your teeth and roof of your mouth meanwhile it crumbles to pieces on your plate. I've been to The Brunch Apothecary three times now. The first two times were better than average but today they were off their mark. I had a special which was a breakfast burrito. When the waiter told me what was in it she neglected to mention potatoes, so I ordered it and planned to eat everything except the tortilla. Unfortunately the main ingredient in the burrito was potatoes. I'm on a low carb diet, so that was disappointing. It wasn't great -- I've had better in my own kitchen. My friend ordered a Belgian waffle and a side of bacon. Nothing else was served on the plate beside a plain waffle and on another plate to pieces of bacon. Geesh! Put a couple of pieces of fruit on the plate or something. The total was $37 with tip. Way too pricey for what was served. I want to like this place, so it's disappointing. read more

I just love this place. The landscape is beautiful outside. Then you come inside and it's a HOUSE! A HOUSE! How cool!? The service is very friendly. If you're in the area and are looking for a great breakfast or brunch, this is the spot for sure! We stopped in for brunch this past Saturday, and we were certainly not disappointed. I had one of their daily specials, which was a pork tenderloin biscuit with white sausage gravy and potatoes. It was really really good. It's really easy to dry out pork loin, and it was cooked very well. The biscuit was soft and dense, like a proper southern biscuit should be. The gravy was the coup-de-grace, and complimented everything perfectly. Everything was seasoned well, and nothing was overly salty. My wife ordered the chicken and waffles, which is their signature. After tasting it, I can see why. They use a churro batter for making their waffles, and dust them with cinnamon and sugar, but don't overdo it at all. They drizzle a little bit of syrup on the waffle, again without overdoing it, and then top it off with a few fried chicken tenders. I've only had chicken and waffles a few times, and this was up there with the best that I've had. The combo of savory and sweet was perfect. While the prices are a little on the high side, the food is absolutely fantastic, and the portions are large, so I feel it's absolutely worth it. read more

My husband had the Pork Belly Benedict which he enjoyed. We had the fried green tomatoes (a must have) and hash brown casserole both of which were delicious. How have I not reviewed this place?! I absolutely adore it here. The people who work here are so nice and the food is delicious! The portions are incredibly generous- and their biscuits alone (at $1.50) are worth coming here for- GIGANTIC, flakey and buttery. I usually do the build-a-biscuit (fresh egg, cheese and tomato) but my friends and family (I bring everyone who comes to town here) have tried their chicken & waffles, their shrimp & grits, their sandwiches, etc. and nothing ever disappoints. They have a nice little kids' menu too and their bacon waffle dippers are perfect for my little ones. Some deets- parking lot is relatively small since this place is REALLY popular, especially on the weekends, but you can park a short walk away at the strip mall. Keep in mind the hours, normally open just 10am-2pm weekdays so right around lunchtime it can get pretty crowded so expect a short wait (I have never waited more than 15 minutes but I avoid Sundays). Great outdoor porch area you can sit on- and the outside area is definitely dog friendly! Hard to find places in this area you can bring your pups to. Be aware that the setting is like a house- the tables are spread across three rooms, so it is definitely a bit cozy, but that is part of the charm! Love this little locally owned place- definitely a breakfast gem in the heart of Dacula. You need to come try it out! read more

What an unexpected delicious dining experience in Dacula! Lots of choices but make sure you arrive hungry, you will have plenty to enjoy. Pre-Boarding...When it is popular, expect a wait. When we first arrived, it was Sunday at 11a and the lobby area was packed. The restaurant itself is a converted house. Very cute and simple. However, you could size up pretty quick that despite the quick efficiency of the staff and host station be ready to wait a minimum of 20 minutes to an hour. We knew we wanted to wait so we settled in for good conversation with our party and "new friends" (you are in close quarters remember) and tried to ignore the grousing of impatient diners. I recommend going very early or after 12:45 on a weekend. It seemed to thin out when we were leaving but I would think with church crowd and weekend activities it ebbs and flows. Go with some other Yelpers who voted dining on a weekday. Take-Off...Service was good. From the time I walked in to give our name to being seated to walking out, we had good, cheerful service. When the wait was long in the lobby, the hosts managed to even bring out coffee and juice to compose the littles (and the "Big" Littles who needed caffeine). Didn't have to do it, they already were busy but you can see they manage their crowd surges nicely. We were seated in a corner area of the very front room. It was TIGHT. I guess since we had already been elbow to elbow waiting, we rolled with it. I will share if it had been just two of us I would have not enjoyed. We had a slightly bigger table and angle but as two you might feel a little claustrophobic. Hence my one star drop. I took one look and knew this might really put someone off and question a higher rating. In Flight...the food. So SO good. The variety is on point. From the famous Chicken and Churros Waffles, to the Bobcat Head Biscuit (bigger than any Cathead biscuit I encountered!) to the inventive specials of the day, you have great food. Since I have vegan and vegetarian friends, you are going to struggle a little here. Vegetarians can make it work, my vegan friends are going to have limited options and difficulties. Most everything on the menu is butter, and/or meat/dairy influenced. Our table ordered the famous Chicken & Churro waffles, the Cajun Biscuit Tasso Ham Casserole with Shrimp/Crayfish etoufee special, and a Smothered Biscuit with blackened pork loin. I noticed other tables getting extra biscuits, hash brown casserole, and sides of grits. As tempted as I was to indulge, I BARELY finished my own plate. I had read other reviews and went in wanting the waffle or pork belly but the specials had been touted and it was the best decision. Around us we saw the Pork Belly benedict and the Southern Monte Cristo and Cajun Shrimp and Grits. You need three stomachs. It is heavy, delicious, well-made food. And we didn't wait long after ordering. It was out on the table in a flash. It is served on a pie plate OR a plastic paper plate look. Coffee and beverages are in disposable plastic. This could be a bone of contention, but these days it is up to the restaurant to determine. I get having it on a glass dish or glass beverage but it is their thing. The good news is my water and coffee were refilled frequently which isn't always happening when dining out. Ingredients were fresh and my food was hot. On a laid back Sunday, works for me. Landing...Pricing may seem high for some. However, perspective - when you are spending close to $7 -$20 to eat at Chick-fil-A or fast food by self or with a family the entree price at BA at between $10- 15 is average -mid level. If you start ordering extras, sides, desserts, beverages it is going to be a little more hit on your wallet. Like I noted above, you get a lot of food and won't leave hungry or wanton. Overall a good place - it is crowded, loud, and intimate all at once. But that is the charm. The food wins above all. Don't delay! read more

We've waited an hour or hour and a half before, but today we waited 30 minutes for a party of 6. Although their menu selection is small, they always have great specials! I've been wanting to try this super cute brunch place but always felt that it was way too busy. My cousin and I decided to go since it was my bday. When we arrived it was busy. But the wait was only 20 mins considering it was peak brunch time on a Saturday the tables were turned pretty fast. I got the chicken and waffles and the nitro cold brew. Let me just start by saying that I've had chicken and waffles from all over even Nashville and this was possibly the best one. The chicken was tender the waffle was moist and they didn't drown it in syrup. Definitely going to come back and it's totally worth the wait!! Dacula needs more of these brunch places read more
