Then walked off all the breakfast and came back for lunch. Was looking for a really good char broiled cheese burger and we found it!!!!! This burger was the exact thing we were looking for!! And again the service was excellent, Big ups to Jackson!!! He sold us on cake and cannoli and may I say, f$&@ing HOME RUN! Great salesman skills on convincing us that we needed to eat desserts! Another fantastic meal at the diner at Sugar Hill. Outstanding service outstanding Food. I have been going to this establishment for decades. Never never disappoints. My party of four we thoroughly enjoyed our meals and desserts. I had the beef stew, Daughter had the chef salad, other two members of the party had liver and onions, and a large cheeseburger and french fries. For dessert we had the Oreo cake, the seven layer, chocolate cake, the strawberry cheesecake, and the banana cream pie. See pictures below. Everything was fantastic. WOW WOW WOW!! My dad is in town and we decided to try it out for breakfast. We both had the steak and eggs and all I'll say is whoever is the grill master back there, PLEASE DONT CHANGE A THING! I mean it was just perfect. We ran errands throughout the day and actually decided to go back for lunch the same day. We both had a classic cheeseburger and again, just absolute perfection. I've actually been searching for a cheeseburger with nothing fancy on it that tastes like the Fourth of July straight off the grill. I cannot believe weeks of trying other burger places, I've finally found it. I'm from South Florida so I used to go to this specific place on the beach and taking one bite of this burger transported me back. I'd recommend this place over and over again. Please don't change whoever is back there grilling. For lunch we finished with the chocolate cake and a cannoli and oh my god... I've tried cannolis at ACTUAL Italian restaurants and this was the closest to back home. It tasted fresh, shell was crunchy and not soggy. Nothing tasted like the freezer. Ryan was our server in the morning and Jackson was our server in the late afternoon. We had such a great experience and you will definitely be seeing us often! Went in for "lunner" and had a great meal including dessert. We ordered fish & chips and lemon chicken. Both plates were a nice portion and a good price. I ordered a meet skillet for the first time in June it was great I went with a friend of mine upon her suggestion. However, I returned today and my experience was the total opposite the meat skillet meal was just not tasteful at all. Just a greasy mixture. I shared my distaste with my server. I was told their best cook comes in on Tuesday!!! Nothing was done. Thus, I left my food on the table! I phoned later after I returned home because it just sit well with me! This place has been around many years. They offer a large variety of menu items. We were seated quickly as they were not full at 6:30 on a friday night, with no reservations. It seems like an older crowd of people, like me. Our waitress Janai was over after a few moments and took our drink order. They do have beer, wine, and a full bar. We then ordered the chicken noodle soup as an appetizer, and for entrees, she ordered a greek salad plus chicken to top it off, and I had the southerwestern salad and asked for romaine lettuce instead, no problem. The soup was tasty, but it could have been hotter. I chose to eat it as is, but I am sure they would have heated it if I asked. I was hungry and ready to eat. The bowl was large for an appetizer. Our salads were tasty, and the chicken on both were tasty. This was a good meal. There is plenty of parking here. If you come for breakfast, get the french toast and ask for a side of lemons. Just trust me, after you put on your butter and syrup, try a bite with a few drops of lemon juice on top. It's diner food that's average. I ordered the gyro omelette and I probably could count how much lamb & meat was actually in the omelette (not much). The omelette did have a good amount of flavor tho. To cut to the chase, I don't recommend. Both food and service was abysmal. It was my first time trying the diner at sugar hill. I had the corned beef hash and eggs. The person who took my to go order was very rude. On their website it says that there is curbside service. When I got to the restaurant, there were no spaces for curbside service. I called inside and the same person who took my order told me that they don't have curbside and that I have to go inside. I placed my order hoping to not have to go inside to get my food, but I was misled by the information on their site. When I got inside, the bartender and two of her patrons were laughing and speaking rudely about "the person who requested for curbside " which was obviously me, but they didn't know it. When they were done and she finally acknowledge me waiting on her, I told her I was the one they were talking about and that it was my first time at the establishment. I requested for my order. She acted as if she didn't just insult me with her patrons and went to get my order. If it wasn't for the fact that I wasn't feeling my best and had a headache, I would've asked for her manger. That type of service is not what I expected and should not be given. Second reason why I have a one star, the food was terrible! It looked like mush/slop. The only thing that was decent was the eggs and the biscuit. The place was packed, so maybe it's not a bad place to eat?? however this being my first experience with them, and it was an awful experience, i would not be going back. read more

Woke up yesterday morning and all I wanted was some french toast. On Sunday morning this place was packed with maybe about 10 min of wait which wasn't too bad at all. I mean who doesn't love a diner right? Your classic greasy spoon type restaurant with dark interior and the aroma of coffee and hash browns lingering in the air. If that doesn't scream nostalgia, I'm not sure what can!! The parking lot was easy to get in and out, nothing to earth shattering to report here. The inside foyer area has your standard diner cooler with some pies I think, and there was a full blown bar to the left!! Hellllo Bloody Mary's! The initial wait time was 15min, this place moves fast we sat in 9. There's like a floor general who sits you down and grabs your first round of drinks while your server gets prepared to come over. That's a nice expeditious touch. The server was great, I'm lactose intolerant so I don't handle dairy well and when I asked her if the food is made with butter or oil she went to check for me. That was a nice touch! I explained to her that I wasn't gonna rollover and die on the bench, I just like to control the intake of dairy myself. Food came the wife had biscuits and gravy. Now this isn't something she would ordinarily order, but she was silent and the flavor was deadly. Not bad for a diner in Sugar Hill. I had your standard 2 eggs over medium w/corned beef hash, some white toast and the grits. Eggs cooked just right, the toast had butter so I sent it back no biggie, and the grits were good and didn't taste like loads of heavy cream and butter. The hash was nice and charred on both sides a little not charred in the middle. Not a huge issue but enough for me to deduct 1 star. Overall the food was great and with a Bloody Mary, our tab was only $46 for 3 people. That's a great deal to me! Out of all the places that get overloaded with people for breakfast on a Sunday, I can honestly say I'm glad we finally stopped in, because I grew up on diner food and this will be my local watering hole now. read more
