Decided to go her after working out at the gym with my friend, and let me just say, we wasted a whole hour at the gym because both of us ended up just stuffing our faces into some bacon and sausage filled pancakes and the most delicious egg I have every had it my life. Not quit sure what the dish was called but is the one with meat in the pancakes. SOO GOOD. The pancakes were sweet and savory at the same time and OMG the egg. The egg was amazing. I usually don't really like eggs but these were so buttery and soft. The yolk broke perfectly over my pancakes and made it taste like heaven! Definitely my favorite breakfast restaurant in Boulder! Great food and great service! The one time service slacked, we were discounted on our meal and given coupons for our next. If you get there early you should have no problem getting a seat, but if you get there and there is a wait it's worth it. And their kids meal are only $1.99 so its great if you're bringing little ones! read more

Great decor, better food. I had the lemon pecan pancakes and they were delicious. My companion couldn't decide between a skillet and the french toast. Our waitress suggested she get the skillet and have the toast side be french toast. She loved it! It does get busy on the weekends so expect a wait. That said, our service was excellent. read more

12/27/14 Hungry Buffs (The Rolland Group) many have good restaurants to choose from BUT their DRIVERS ARE TERRIBLE. Not only are the drivers "driving" customers away they're also giving a bad name to the restaurant that made the food. The driver's are invariably representing the restaurant after they leave their premises. If I am having issues with the driver than I am going to cancel my order after the restaurant prepares the food. So they lose money, Hungry Buffs loses money and I am stuck with having no food. These "Independent Drivers" are bad for everyone. The Rolland Group needs to address this ASAP and take responsibility and HIRE drivers on your payroll that CARE. read more

The renovated Buff is beautiful! What a change from the previous business that was in the same spot. I had the biscuits and gravy with 2 fried eggs last time I was there. It was served true to its Americana roots. I like the big mason jars they use to serve ice tea, regular or pomegranate green. Tammy, who is the manager, remembered me from 10 years ago when I would go to the old Buff. She even remembered my name! That says something about a place. read more

You pretty much cannot beat this place for breakfast/brunch. Very reasonably priced with options for every imaginable dietary restriction, also tons of cocktails for real cheap. I stuck to the Southwestern style breakfasts, they were amazing. read more

The buff is consistently great. Breakfast options like the skillets, the two-step, and pancakes are all delicious and the portions are large. You cannot beat the 99 cent mimosas, either. My only complaint about the food is the coffee--it is always so weak that I have stopped ordering it. The service is friendly and speedy. Today I went to the Buff Restaurant, and ordered to go. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Atlantic omelet, however I asked for one of those without capers. On the phone. The lady was very nice, repeated my order back to me perfectly. When I picked up my order they were also very nice. Then, when I got home, the order was completely wrong, one of the omelets was made with only whites, and both had capers, and of course the orders were cold, despite I picked them up exactly at twenty minute after I called(when they told me to come in). Don't order to go from here. And honestly just go to Snooze, the food is not only tastes better it's better priced. read more

The Buff is "The Place" for the young and the hungover to attend for brunch. The allure of $1 mimosa's and bloody mary's sucked me in to the Buff on a couple of occasions, however I was a little less than impressed with the food. The service also has room for improvement, and the setting is a little on the dingy side. Not the most amazing place for families, but convenient and trendy for the college crowd. read more

The food was good, slightly more expensive than average, and the portion size was great. The service was also good. I ordered their breakfast taco plate, which comes with either flour or corn tortillas. We did have big issues with the kitchen. My wife ordered eggs cooked so that the whites were cooked and the yolks slightly cooked, not an uncommon way to order eggs. When they came out, you could clearly see they were under-cooked. So, the kitchen wasn't really paying much attention to whether their food matched the order. When she sent them back, they came out in 2 minutes cooked like leather. It's not hard to imagine the scenario. Cooks are busy, shovelling food as fast as they can, and someone sends their order back. So they fry the crap out of it and send it out, again without checking the order to verify how it's supposed to be cooked. I ordered corn tortillas with mine and requested that they cook them longer than usual so they were a little crispier. Again, the order came out cooked the way it's usually cooked instead of the way I ordered it. I talked to the manager, who took both orders back to get them cooked correctly. However, mine came back the same way it was originally delivered. When I asked him why they didn't cook the tortillas a little longer, he politely explained to me how complicated it would be for the cooks to fry those tortillas a little longer than usual. It was a lame and implausible explanation but the message was clear, "you get your order the way we say you're going to get it and even trivial deviations are not allowed". To their credit, they comp'd both of our orders but we left there with the impression that they were being needlessly intransigent about how you can order their food. It's hard to remember when I was last in a restaurant that refused to do such a simple thing. But, that tells you something about how far they are willing to go to satisfy their customers, which is not very far. read more

For as long as the lines are out the door, you'd think this place had a Zagat rating of 20+. Not so much. Any breakfast joint should be judged by two basic dishes: 1) Biscuits & Gravy; 2) French Toast. In both instances, the food was marginal at best. The biscuits and gravy were flat out bland, and the French toast was the same---adding "real maple syrup" didn't make up for the lack of character. I think the real draw for The Buff is that it's near the campus and it serves alcohol, so all of the college kiddies can have a little hair-of-the-dog with their pancakes. Just left The Buff restaurant..it's pretty sad to see the day that you pay $2 for less then a shot glass worth of maple syrup. My kids meal was $1.99 and their syrup for french toast cost more.... wow! We spent over $10 in syrup and we're never even told it was more $$, never again.
