Have you ever dropped over 10 bucks on breakfast and immediately regretted it? Well that's how I feel about this place. I walked in and I noticed the seating looked very uncomfortable and I wasn't wrong the chairs are horrible. Very narrow and uncomfortable for someone who is short. The edge of the chair cut deep into the back of my legs. So, I order a tea and see the OJ and ask the "manager guy" is this fresh squeezed in house. I was hoping it was like the fresh OJ you get at many local spots. Again the manager/owner guy said yes, it's fresh squeezed. Then he handed me the smallest glass I'd ever seen, it was a joke. When I tasted the OJ I was so pissed because I could taste the added sugar and junk like you'd get from a store bought OJ. I asked the girl at the counter about the OJ and she told me it was Minute Maid, so in fact it's NOT fresh squeezed in house like he said.....grrrrrrrr You place your order at the counter and your food hopefully is served to you correctly minutes later. Immediately upon ordering I knew I was going to have a problem with my order. I was in the restaurant industry for years before starting my own business. It's easy for me to spot who's going to cook something right and who I'm going to have problems with. The person cooking food here has NO business in a kitchen. The cook looked frustrated that I had come in as I interrupted his flirting session with the cashier. I ordered the cream cheese eggs with a side of refried beans. It comes with the bread of my choice and I reluctantly chose a biscuit. You'll notice that the first order given to me has clumps of melted cream cheese in the eggs and the eggs are not scrambled but rather fried sort of an omelette style and chopped up. The eggs were so dry and had cold, clumped cream cheese spattered atop the over cooked eggs. The biscuit was a joke as I had suspected. It was hard as a rock and should not have even been served to me. There was an older white gentleman standing at the counter top, who appeared to be either an owner or manager and he allowed this food to go out looking like shit. I figured since it was around 10 AM the biscuits would be total garbage but truthfully one would hope that with a manager or owner serving the food they would inspect it or even check it, that didn't happen. I took the plate back up to the counter and showed them the eggs and voiced my complaint, you'll notice in the second picture they brought the eggs out again slightly better but not something that is worth over $10. It just didn't taste good or wasn't prepared properly. I had the egg plate, the tiniest OJ ever in history and an iced tea and somehow my total was almost $15. I didn't eat the biscuit and I couldn't finish the eggs because frankly they just didn't taste good. The chairs were uncomfortable and the atmosphere was very pretentious. The people who were dining there were older and had that River Oaks judgmental attitude about them. This place was just awful, and made even more awful by the fact that someone in management allowed food to be served looking the way it was. I will not come back. read more

We came on Bluegrass music night (Wednesday's). I had not been in a long time. However, the cinnamon coffee is still delicious and the blueberry pancakes are still the best in the world!! I'm glad that breakfast is still offered all day long. I was very pleased with the service, the food, the live music, and the happy atmosphere and memories that were created. Buffalo Grille, Bissonnet Location, Houston My wife and I visited Buffalo Grille the afternoon of 8/31 Saturday. We ordered two meals for eat-in and one order for takeaway. Our experience can be summarized in one word: Wow! That is, Wow!, as in not-so-good. We are in our late 70s and have patronized BG locations for decades. Never, have we ever had such a poor experience at BG. One-star and two-star reviews have become much more common, apparently, with good reason. I ordered a breakfast plate and my wife ordered a typical lunch entrée. After an uncommonly long wait, we went to the pickup counter to see if there was some sort of problem causing the delay. My order was already sitting on a tray on the pickup counter, waiting for my wife's order to be completed. A rather young woman employee (who later advised that she was a manager) told my wife that there would be another wait of 10-15 minutes for biscuits to be prepared for her lunch order. At this time, the BG woman employee retrieved my plate from the pickup tray and returned it to the pickup window. She apparently wanted both orders to be served simultaneously, as would be normal practice. However, it was immediately obvious that this was not going to be a "normal" situation. I objected - in a stern but civil manner - to my order being returned to the pickup window. I requested that my order be returned to me because I didn't want to be served cold food. The BG woman employee immediately grabbed my ready-to-eat plate and dumped it in the trash. Of course, I asked why she did that, and she responded that I said I didn't want cold food. I clarified that I said I didn't want my food to GET cold. I then added that perhaps there was a language problem, meaning that she may have simply misunderstood my request. However, it's doubtful that anyone with this sort of mentality should be working in a service industry that requires meaningful and respect dialogue with customers. At this time our conversation suddenly escalated into a one-way screaming session directed at me in a most forceful and incredibly disrespectful manner. I was stunned at the over-reaction and unnecessary embarrassing scene that the woman was causing in the restaurant. It seemed as if I were up-close witnessing a mental health episode. When I objected to her behavior, she became more incensed. At this time I returned to our table, expecting my order to eventually be fresh-prepared and served with the lunch order my wife still expected to be served. After a few minutes, the BG woman employee walked over to our table and told me to leave the restaurant and my payment for all orders would be refunded. So, I went to my vehicle while my wife - who was simply an observer to everything that had transpired - went back to the cashier station to replace all our orders for takeout. Her credit card was charged and her service appeared to be proceeding in a normal manner. But about this time - according to my wife - a male employee (who said he was also a manager) confronted my wife and told her she was not welcome in the restaurant and she should also leave as soon as her payment was refunded. Of course, as an innocent bystander to the preceding rude encounter that was my own experience, she was completely taken by surprise. Her problem with BG management was apparently that she had accompanied me to the restaurant. When my wife tried to explain her situation, she was told to be quiet and leave immediately. To say her nasty treatment was uncalled would be something of an understatement. It would not be unreasonable to characterize the experience suffered by my wife and myself as elder abuse - in the form of verbal bullying - by BG staff. Particularly so for my wife of 53 years. After my wife and I left the restaurant and were in our vehicle, another group of restaurant customers soon exited the restaurant and approached us. One woman in that group said they had watched the spectacle and listened (to the woman employee screaming at me). She said one person in her group had to return an order because of incorrect or poor preparation and that other service problems at the restaurant had become not uncommon since BG had come under new ownership. But anyway, this review is intended to represent only the shabby experience that my wife and I suffered and is not intended to do anything other than simply mention an unverifiable third-party report. The old Buffalo Grille with its good food and nice, competent employees will be missed. Not so much this current version of Buffalo Grille. What a shame! read more

I will start by saying that this was the second time I've come here. I am coming from out of state and have tried many places for breakfast/brunch when I come to the city. I really like the ambiance here. I really don't mind the "quick-service"/counter service vibe. The coffee was really good--not too strong, not weak. Everyone in the party ate almost everything, even me, though my omelet was very bland. The only thing that gave it a little bit of flavor was the tangy feta cheese. The food was fresh, but it needed a little bit of salt to enhance the flavors. This is what kept it shy of 5 stars for me. It was the perfect day to sit outside and it was very comfortable. So I finally got a chance to try this place. The few times we did try to come here the place was just entirely too busy, which was definitely a good sign. This particular day was a week day around 11:00am; so it was before the lunch crowd and after the breakfast. The food was great. We ordered too much, but we were able to take it home for dinner. You order at the line and your name is called to come pick up your food. The place isn't really large but seating isn't that bad, and I also noticed they had an outdoor seating area as well. The staff was friendly, but not the most helpful when it came to the menu, like for example the lady could have told me that I should have orders the half order of chicken fried steak, but it was cool. Had a fairly decent overall experience, but nothing too special. All of our egg-based dishes were fine, including my omelette. The peppered bacon we ordered was far too crispy for how thick it was. I wish it was either a little thinner or a little softer to enjoy more of the flavor. The hash browns weren't that great either, as they really lacked flavor in general. The pancakes were fine, but rather than get a short stack with both chocolate chips and pecans, we received a pancake with chocolate chips and two with pecans (none with both). The food is pretty greasy but fresh. The portions are huge. The line is long. Skip the toast, and order the biscuit or English muffin. Also, I found the hashbrowns not as much to my liking, although I like their grits. I feel like this place is the kind of place guys dream about with the huge portions for a decent price point. Decent place to get breakfast, but it's not located high on my list of places to go. I took my parents here for brunch when they came to visit me. When looking for places to eat, this just happened to be just 2 miles down the street from me so why not. Fortunately when we got here, the line wasn't crazy long. Still long. It's always our instinct to have 1 person order and another grab a table since the place was busy and there weren't many vacant tables. Once my dad tried grabbing a table, a worker informed him he couldn't do that. But 3 minutes later, we catch a woman grab a table and no one says anything? Once we got up to the cashier to order, we saw the sign where it stated you couldn't save tables, but obviously other people do and you can't catch everyone. That's annoying. Let people be, it'll all work out - everyone will have a seat. We saw the line get ridiculously long once we sat down and I honestly wouldn't be in that long of a line. The food was basic. My family loves this place, but I just think that its "A-OK." Ample parking as its in the strip mall with the Randalls. There's an outdoor patio area which overlooks the street. not sure why anyone would wanna sit out there and truly I have never seen anyone sit out there. You enter and the menu is on the wall. They did not disappoint on portion sizes. I also want to note that this is not a table service restaurant. You order you food, grab a table, and then they call your name to pick up your food. They do have busers to clear the tables though. The restaurant itself was clean, but the food was a miss for us. We came on a Tuesday morning just before 11am. I ordered an omelette with mushrooms, spinach, black olives and Swiss cheese. My sides were a biscuit and grits. My husband ordered the breakfast special that came with 2 tamales, covered in some kind of meat sauce. He also had a biscuit as his side. We wore both not impressed with the biscuit. It was very hard and dry, without flavor, and not warm. Their texture was almost as if they had been sitting out for a few days. The omelet was nice and large, loaded with the toppings I wanted however they were just thrown on in clumps and not made into the egg. The cheese was also slopped on top of the pre-made omelet, rather than melted on the inside with the fillings. My husband thought his eggs were over cooked and that the tamales were way to salty. You couldn't tell what kind of meat you were eating. He had wanted to use their salsa, but did not like the flavor or consistency. Before anyone accuses me of being a grouchy old guy shaking his fist at the world and yelling at kids to get off his lawn, our annual New Year's morning breakfast at Buffalo Grille did have a few redeeming qualities. Both the pecan coffee and the toasted cinnamon coffee were as excellent as always. The bathrooms were very clean. The ladies who clear off the tables in the dining room were very pleasant and worked very efficiently. My wife's sliced tomatoes were ripe, juicy and flavorful. That's about it. Now, on to the real reason for this review. My wife ordered poached eggs. They were cooked way past poached to the point of dry hard boiled. Her english muffin was over-toasted to the point of melba toast (as was mine). Dry, hard, crisp, and inedible. My scrambled eggs with cream cheese and chives were dry hard curds that fell apart on the fork. My bacon (if you can call it that) was so over fried that it cracked into little pieces when tapped against the plate. It was dry, salty, peppery, and crunchy. No bueno, Buffalo Grille! But what was more upsetting than all of that is that my wife and I have eaten at Buffalo Grille every New Year's morning over the past 12 years. This year, they changed a longstanding tradition without any prior notice and tried to pass it off as an accident, when it was not. Every year until 2023, at our breakfast, Buffalo Grille had a hot pot of black eyed peas in the dining room in honor of New Years. Not this year. When I asked the cashier why, he said, "hey, we're only human." After we paid, one of the women working the counter whispered that they decided to only have the black eyed peas beginning at lunch. Nice try making a conscious decision sound like an accidental mistake. Finally, everyone knows that restaurant prices have increased over the past year. We get that. But the prices here were exceptionally high. When the cashier told me the total, I almost asked how much our breakfast cost in American dollars. Every year (yes, even on New Year's morning), there has been a line at the cashier stand that trailed to, and sometimes outside, the front door of the restaurant. This year, not only no long line -- no line at ALL. I wondered why that was the case when we got there. But having ordered, eaten, and consumed a very unsatisfying breakfast at a premium price I know why. We won't be back. read more

So when my order was ready I asked them for raisins and the man behind the counter yelled at me and told me they were $1. (Of course I had no issue with the cost even though I think it's ridiculous to charge for a handful of raisins but that's not why I'm writing this.) Instead of handing me some raisins the man yelled at me. I was taken aback so I just took my oatmeal and walked off. It's unfortunate that the customers are treated this way.
