They send you the check when your 60 minutes are up and you can finish what's left at your table. This honestly is the cheapest ayce korean bbq anywhere around the area and the selection here, for cooked foods, is definitely unique. I had guacamole, cooked salmon and steamed clams which aren't foods that come to mind when you think of Korean food but still enjoyed them regardless. The Korean bbq items here were pretty bad, the beef, especially, the bigger cuts, were extremely tough and chewy, I would stick to the thinner cuts here as quality and tenderness might not be such an issue with these items. The pork options were much better, but as I went for the beef options first, I couldn't fully enjoy the pork options. I have eaten here at least 4-5 times over the past 2 years. I have been really impressed. I love how you can go and choose the meat you want from the big buffet of marinated meats, and how they grill it at the table for you. Very few restaurants let you just go and grab a big pile of meat and then cook it for you. The service has always been great - someone is always attending to your meats, and we get anything we want very fast. One of my favorite things is how they have a larger rectangular grill for the BBQ. This is a major improvement over other places with smaller circular grills. The rectangular grill allows you to fit a lot more meat on the grill. When we first ate here the price was more but they had better meat options, like ribeye etc. They reduced the price but also got rid of best cuts of meat (except the bulgogi which is my favorite). I have been driving past this place for months now on my way to my daughter's pediatrician. Finally had a chance to drop by this past Friday for lunch. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.A group of my friends and I were racially profiled and treated like we were going to Dine N Dash. The restaurant doesn't close until 11:30 to start off, and we were rushed out by 10:00. The cashier stared us down for majority of our dinner and just as we were making sure everyone sent their portion of the bill she comes over and demands that we hurry up and pay. She then proceeds to tell us payment cannot be split(we did not ask for this option) and made a snide remark about all of us being on our phones as a way to say we were stalling the process. It's been several years since we last had AYCE Korean BBQ in Flushing. New York K-BBQ, with its fresh food and friendly service, is a nice addition to the lineup of Korean restaurants that line Northern Blvd. We had lunch here on a weekday and the place wasn't crowded at all. We had a booth by the window and had a good amount of room to spread out. In terms of meat selections, there's a decent selection including pork belly, spicy pork belly, beef bulgogi, teriyaki chicken, pork shoulder, even chicken gizzards and beef intestines. There's a variety of cooked items including spicy rice cake, jap chae, fried dumplings, fried onion rings, white rice. There were two selections of soup, tofu soup and beef radish soup, both were enjoyable on a cold day. There was a nice salad bar with vegetables and fruits; there were also small bowls of corn cheese and steam egg for you to place on your grill. For dessert, there were cups of ice cream in various flavors sitting in the freezer, including mango and cookies and cream. Our server was friendly and spent a lot of time grilling our food and making recommendations. I hope they keep up with this level of service once they get busier. What I really liked was that I didn't feel weighted down by all the food I consumed, which is rare after visiting a buffet or AYCE. Searched for a AYCE Korean BBQ in Queens other than our staple/regular AYCE Korean BBQ spots we frequent and came across New York K-BBQ with its $29 weekend dinner AYCE pricing which left us intrigued as that is 1/3 less money than our usual AYCE spots nearby as well in other parts of Queens. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So we eagerly arrived late afternoon to a 1/4 full restaurant on Sunday Father's day, alil strange but it's fine - less crowds = more relaxed AYCE experience right?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Well we learned it was a average experience even considering the lower cost of entry. Our first server was very friendly and informed us of the details as we were seated, first good impression a plus. Then we ventured to the buffet areas - comparing the selection to other AYCE KBBQ it was less variety and less items for sure. A few beef items, pork, chicken, squid, and veggies as well as a few precooked items. No shell fish nor shrimp. For me the big disappointment was no Galbi -one of my fav cuts - the short ribs. A KBBQ without Galbi? Dessert was frozen small cups of Hersey's ice cream and fresh fruit was cut up oranges (really sweet and larger ones) and honey dew. In terms of quality of the protein cuts and prep/taste I would say - you get what you pay for. Not the better KBBQ and not the worst. Considering the $29 entrance fee it is a good value if you aren't a picky eater or aren't a food lover food like me. But really the worse thing about our experience for the 3 of us was when we were provided the cheque - added to the total was a gratuity of 20% yet clearly posted along the table area said parties of 7+ people or more will be charged 20% gratuity. Plus the "Tip Guide" suggested gratuities on the bottom of the bill was printed the amounts which included the NYS taxes - that should not be the case. When we asked a waitress why with 3 persons we were charged the manditory 20% gratuity and she apologized saying it was a mistake. Very odd mistake. NEW AYCE Korean BBQ restaurant in Queens, NY! I stopped by with my family the other day because we LOVE Korean BBQ. We loved this place because they had so many different types of meat options, side dishes, hot food, homemade soup, and Korean cold noodles (냉면) at the end. We are obsessed with Korean spicy rice cakes (떡뽁이) and you could get as much as you wanted of it! The service was incredible as well. We cooked most of our own meat, but the waiters helped us whenever they were around. It definitely makes it fun to cook your meat right in front of you. They also change the grills for you after every meat, which I thought was very impressive. They even brought us butter to put on top of one of the meats! Don't forget to get some corn cheese and kimchi fried rice to cook on your grill as well! Thank you so much to Mr. Shin and staff for the incredible service. Overall, this place is just so-so. Meat quality and selection is on par with others but it doesn't stand out. Cooked food here is average and the service here left a lot to be desired. I was hesitant to try this AYCE KBBQ spot given the overall Yelp stars (3 stars as of 7/21/2023) but I am so happy that I gave this restaurant a try! My friends and I decided to dine here for my boyfriend's birthday and we were not disappointed. After some research, I believe this restaurant opened earlier this year and did not do well in the beginning but they definitely made significant improvements as we all enjoyed our meals! New York KBBQ is similar to Picnic Garden where you go up and grab whatever portion of meat, veggies, and sides that you want. They also have a hot food bar with a variety of options and cuisines (i.e. sushi, pasta, garlic shrimp, etc.) I absolutely loved the hot food bar and appreciated that they had unique items that most KBBQ places do not serve. My boyfriend is a die hard Picnic Garden fan (he prefers Picnic Garden over Cast Iron, O2, Padam Padam, etc.) so I was genuinely surprised to hear that he liked this restaurant more. He said New York KBBQ is a cleaner and better Picnic Garden, and that we will be coming here moving forward! Additionally, I really enjoyed the meat as it tasted fresh (specifically the LA kalbi and pork jowl)! They also had butter available for the beef dishes, which added a nice touch to the meat. We also tried the nengmyun (both mul and bibim) and it was a delicious and refreshing addition to our meal. The service here is also unmatched! Our servers were so friendly and made sure that our grills were always changed timely. We never had to wait long for anything and our main server even noticed that my friends loved the clams so he went up and got more for them without us even asking. Not the best AYCE K-BBQ you're going to go to. It's a buffet style location with great options. I've had better quality meats from other places though. The wide selection and the option to get it yourself makes this place a standout among others I've been to. The self-service was great! I prefer that over ordering off of a menu. The quality of meats and seafood is poor, being both tough and flavorless. The only item I enjoyed was the complimentary ice cream from Hershey's. 2.) For the quality of meats, the price is expensive. Compared to other AYCE KBBQ places in Queens, $40/person is steep considering how tough and flavorless the offerings were. 3.) We didn't realize they have a parking lot! We parked about 3 blocks away instead, but now you know! On one side, this is nice because you can control the portions and try a little bit of multiple things if you want. On the other side, you don't know how long it's been sitting out before you grabbed it. The LA Galbi, Pork Jowl, and Pork Belly were good, but the Brisket was not even recognizable on the palate - too thick, chewy, and taste was off. They also gave us steamed egg, cheese corn, and zucchini pancakes. These were all decent, but the zucchini pancakes could be crispier, so we just tossed them on our grill for a bit. First time trying out this spot since it's grand opening . I wanted to see how good it is compared to picnic garden . One thing that stood out is how fast food get cooked on their grills .
