A few friends and I stopped here a few days ago and we had a really lovely experience. We got seated right away. It was a little busy. You sit at a round table with a cast iron in the middle. They set you up with some sauces and such. You check out their menu on your phone. We did the all you can eat for 2 hours. It came to around $45 per person. We ordered 3 different kinds of meat, they put onions, broccoli, mushrooms on the cast iron as well. Our waiter/chef cooking for us was really nice and chatted a bit. He was very attentive as well. We did 2 beef and one pork, and everything came out so good. The seasoning was great. I ordered the mojito, which was also very good. Overall the experience was great, the food was great. I loved it. Would totally recommend!

AYCE Korean bbq is always good here, with great sides and soup. I think this is a new item, the braised crab meat soup was ridiculously rich and umami! You can never go wrong with their steaks and pork jowl. Came for an early Friday dinner and it wasn't full with plenty of tables. The service here is always impeccable and attentive. The dinner special is definitely a better deal with a lot more meat choices. There are many tables inside for small and larger parties. FYI: for all of y'all single ladies, if you want to see good looking K-drama Oppas, here is the place to be! Wink!

The marinated sauce doesn't taste good, which is the main reason I rate low. The marinated sauce taste really cheap and watery. Beside, We sit on the side table and the exhaust fan is broken so all the smoke and heat coming to my face. I really hate that. Overall, it's not worthy and I won't come back again

This all you can eat spot is delicious. Go in hungry! The staff cooks for you btw, which was lovely. The party has to be present otherwise they will not seat you. It's a small but lovely spot! The staff was very attentive and they change your grill for you, which looked cast iron (hence the name). I can't wait to go back! My family and I definitely enjoyed it!

My only complaint before would've been the servings of meat were way too big, making us unable to order multiple meats. However, they have finally reduced the size of the meat plates. This is great! We can order more variety. The service is friendly and efficient and the meats were marinated well. However, I did appreciate the non-marinated brisket since I really enjoy the truffle salt and bean dipping sauce. The best thing there is still that crab stew. I had myself two servings this time. Their house salad is really great as well, love that dressing. We had two servings of that as well. Great lunch!

I came here with a group of friends for dinner. We didn't have a reservation but only waited about 15 minutes with one group ahead of us. The dinner is $40 per person, so we tried to take full advantage of the unlimited meat! I especially enjoyed the beef brisket, pork belly, and pork ribs. We ended up ordering around 8 rounds of meat for our group of five, so that was pretty solid! They do provide veggies including broccoli, carrots (I think it's a bit odd having them in kbbq because Koreans song really consume them), along with the common veggies including onion, kimchi, peppers, and garlic. The veggies come in smaller portions, so it was a bit inconvenient that we had to ask for refills often. Overall, I'm glad I finally checked this place out & would definitely come back next time I'm in Flushing!

If you're interested in an all you can eat Korean BBQ then this is a place you want to check out. Parking is a challenge so be prepared to circle the block a few times. 3 of us went in after 1pm during the week. No waiting, staff was very courteous and helpful. Our cook was great and very helpful in helping us with our meals. We had beef, pork and chicken dishes and were excellent. For a first time, we all left happy and satisfied. We will come back! Check it out.

Our waiter frank was very on top of things. I consider him one of the best waiters I've ever had. He was super attentive. The food was good and marinated well. Inside has a heavy smell of bbq smoke but whatever. Me and my friend got 2 drinks and it cmae out to $65ish each. I thought that was a little high , I probably wouldn't come back for a while

Meat fest for birthday celebration!!! Great vibe, food, and company but uncomfortable chairs. The stool chairs double as storage bin for your jacket and personal items. I really hope the inside is kinda clean since people just toss their stuff in. I didn't realize how much we needed a back of a chair to be more comfortable now that we are older lol Celebrated 2 people's birthdays with friends. They had a birthday shot or a cookie which we tried the cookie at the end of the meal (I think the shot would be more worth it but the 2 people didn't want the drink). Good price for AYCE meat. Yummy... also, unexpectedly, I really enjoy the salad as a palate cleanser and was the one who ate it the most and wanted a refill on that. Had concern about the stacking of the lettuce under the table (you can see pic) because if the underside of bowl is dirty, it is stack ontop of the next bowls lettuce and would contaminate it. Hopefully that was just a one off and they had improved since then. But overall, had a great time.

The Cast Iron Pot 3 Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - The Cast Iron Pot 3

Is it busy on a Thursday night?

It does get busy around dinner time.

Is it hot inside the restaurant?

Yes it gets a little hot, a bunch of cast iron grills are on. But it's not overwhelming.

Do you guys accept discover credit cards?

    Yes they do!

    Do they have kimchi?

    Yes!! They have banchan!

Can you bring in your own bottled water? I'm seeing many reviews that they charge for this. When is the best time to come here and the current price for AYCE?

they have tap water on every table in reused bottles filled with ice. They were charging for bottled water when COVID first started and you had to use throw-away plates, cups, utensils, etc. Now, they are back to serving water, soju, soda etc. You…

Does the restaurant request to see vaccination cards or are just masks ok?

    Both!

    Is it halal?

    No! They have pork belly

Can I bring a birthday cake or will they charge me for bringing a cake?

You would most likely have to let the staff know beforehand about a cake when you make the reservation (if your party consists of 6 or more people).…

Is there out door dining right now as of April/May 2021?

I'm not too sure. I went about three weeks ago and they have their outside seating but everyone was waiting to be seated inside. Call the restaurant or make sure, sorry I couldn't give you a firm answer.

    How much for dinner?

About $30. Went out Saturday night. For two people a bottle of soju tax and tip it was $44 each.

For the indoor dining do the staff cook the food for you at a separate place or is it cooked in front of you?

Indoor dining - Food cooked at your table Outdoor dining - Food cooked in their kitchen and brought out to you. They set up a grill on each outdoor table so you can continue…

Do they have outdoor seating? If not how crowded is inside? Has the rate change or same price? TIA

Tons of outdoor seating across the front & side of the resturaut. Excited to see what it looks like once they do indoot seating again.

Are they open for ayce kbbq during COVID-19?

Yes menu has changed though, no side appetizers like the soups or rice cake

Due to COVID, do they offer any sort of food deliver?

They're not open so there is no delivery or take out option sadly. I pass by the restaurant on my commute everyday and they're closed. But hopefully they open soon !

Due to covid when will you guys have the dine-in option again?

    They're open for dine-in now.

    Does this place take reservations?

No reservations. First come first serve is their business model. You walk in, put your name on a list and they will either call or text.

Is there a time limit for lunch?

There is but I doubt they'll enforce it unless they're super busy or you're abusing it (staying for 3-4 hours)

Can we order meat as many times as we want do we have to pay each time we order meat?

If you order a la carte then yes, you jave to pay for every order of meat. If you commit to their All You Can Eat deal then you don't have to pay for each order. Food here is awesome though, have fun!

Do they serve fried rice on the pot after the bbq?

    No, they don't

What's the pricing for kids? 3 yo and 5 yo?

Kids under certain height is half price

This place is a little of a hidden gem and not quite like other Korean restaurants. But no gatekeeping here! We also came at a weird lunch time around 2pm so it wasn't really busy and we were seated right away. Once you enter, you'd quickly notice the very detailed beautifully hand painted murals on the walls and an abundance of painted butterflies. The attention to detail is impeccable! The menu is also very cute and I'm guessing handmade. It was pretty detailed and we appreciated learning about each dish before deciding what to order. We ended up ordering the Kimchi Pancake with seafood, the spicy bulkoki udon and the jeyuk udon. The kimchi seafood pancake was super crispy and filled with squid and shrimp! It also came with a semi sweet dipping sauce that paired nicely. Both udons came out piping hot and fresh! Udon had a nice chew to it, was loaded with vegetables as well as meat for each dish. The egg was fried and did not have a runny yolk. For sides, they gave us 4 things- a tomato salad, kimchi cucumbers, braised string beans, and bean sprouts. The tomato salad came in this cute apple shaped dish but neither of us really cared for it- this is completely biased though since we're not really fans of tomato. What we really did love was the kimchi cucumbers! Also at the end, they served us 3 pieces of cantaloupe which were very sweet. Overall, yummy food, cute shop, and friendly/nice staff! I'd come back to try their other food options in the future!

There's 2 waitresses and one busser, but I felt only one of the waitress was pulling the weight, while the other (maybe she's the owner?) mostly chatted with one of the table customers. I felt bad for our waitress she was so busy with fulfilling takeouts + dine ins and the dishes require a lot of servicing table side. She couldn't catch 1 second of break :( Food wise, we got their 2 person combo of spicy pork gamja tang and spicy rice cake which came with the steamed egg. Everything was so good, egg was extra fluffy, rice cake was delicious and the meat came right off the bones. They take a good variety of side dishes. My partner wasn't a fan of the gamja tang but due to feeling it's a hassle to eat meat with bones, so those who fee sim may agree. We also asked for the fried rice after we finished the gamja tang, for 2 servings I think it was $4.75 or something. I really enjoyed it but I guess I like scorched rice, also something my partner doesn't enjoy so those we feel sim just note. Environment feels very old school, well worn. Feels cozy. It can get loud very quickly on a Saturday night as this place seems to be a hit for large parties. Since the wait staff is short handed, expect a bit of a wait for things. Don't come if you're in a rush.

Geo Si Gi is highly known for their signature gamjatang (spicy pork bone soup). Ordered the Gamjatang & Grilled Mackerel Set - $52.95 (for 2) The gamjatang is perfectly spiced - bold and warming without overwhelming heat (and trust me, my spice tolerance is low!). Instead of the usual red kimchi, they load it with long strips of green napa cabbage, cut right before your eyes before serving. Some bean sprouts, watercress on top, with tender potatoes, chewy rice cakes, and massive pork bones that fall right off - so meaty and flavorful. Served with a side of sweet mustard sauce. Pure comfort on a cold day. The grilled mackerel was enormous and incredibly plump - way bigger than expected! As an oily fish, it's rich and satisfying, but we barely made it through a third. If you're a mackerel fan like me, it's a must-order. . Banchan were simple and homey: nothing flashy, just solid classics. Bonus: it comes with fluffy steamed egg (jjim) that rounds out the meal perfectly. I can eat an entire bowl of rice with just the steamed egg . This set was massive for two - we left with about 1/4 of the soup and 2/3 of the fish! Pro tip: Save some broth and ask them to make fried rice with it at the end. Game-changer. . Highly recommend for hearty, soul-warming Korean food in Flushing!

A couple of us shared a $13 bottle of the green grape flavor of Chum Churum, a soju. In terms of banchan, there was a bunch. Everyone got a cold and refreshing cabbage soup as well as a very tasty version of Braised Tofu/Dubu-jorim/두부조림. Once we ordered, we also got a bunch of other banchan, including cabbage, radish, and cucumber Kimchi, broccoli and cauliflower Namul, Marinated Mushrooms/Beoseot Bokkeum/버섯볶음, Anchovies With Peanuts/Myeolchi Bokkeum/멸치볶음, and Potato/Gamja Salad/감자샐러드. One of the other things brought out was a pretty tasty version of Raw Soy Sauce Marinated Crab/Ganjang-Gejang/간장게장. Most of these were refillable. The first actual thing that arrived was something that I can't eat, the $22.99 Seafood Pancake/Haemul Pajeon/해물파전. I have a cephalopod allergy, or in other words, anything with tentacles, so I avoid squid and octopus, and seafood pancakes always contain one of those two. Everyone else enjoyed it, though. The pajeon I could eat was the Kimchi Jeon/김치전 for a dollar less. It was pretty tasty, though I prefer other spots that had a bit more of a crisp. Next was one of their signatures, the grilled duck. Going from online reviews, we went with the non-spicy version, as people prefer it, as the spicier marinade overpowers the duck. This was the $29.99 Sang Ori Gui/생오리구이. The sliced duck was on a hot, sizzling plate, with there also being a lot of grilled onions and scallions. The duck had a mix of pieces, ranging from fatty to less so, and had a nice mix of textures. This was easily one of my favorites, though I liked it even more when paired with the ssamjang that arrived with the BBQ, as the sauce balanced the light fattiness. Arriving at a similar time was the last thing I couldn't eat, the Spicy Stir-Fried Baby Octopus on Iron Plate/Jjukkumi Cheolpan Bokkeu/철판쭈꾸비볶음, for $30.99. I couldn't try the octopus, but the portion was plentiful, and I had a bit of the noodles on the bottom after making sure there were no tentacles, as well as trying the sauce. The sauce was tasty, spicy, and very flavorful. We went with two of the Korean BBQ meats, one beef and one pork. My preference of the two was surprisingly the $49.99 Charcoal Grilled Marinated Beef Ribs/Yangnyeom Galbi/양념갈비. This also came with two veggies: kabocha squash and asparagus. The beef was extremely tender, had the perfect mix of fat and meat, and had only a light sweetness from the marinade. This was absolutely delicious and very much worth the price point. Also tasty was the Grilled Pork Belly/Samgyeopsal/삼겹살, for $36.95. This also came with a few things, including cabbage and a large mushroom. The pork belly was delicious, being just fatty enough and very tender as well, with a mild chew. The BBQ came with a few extra side dishes. This included a tasty steamed egg/Gyeran-jjim/계란찜, greens, an onion salad, ssamjang, salt, and a small boiling pot of soybean stew/doenjang jjigae. They were all tasty, though nothing particularly notable outside of the portions being generous. Also, at the end of the meal, they gave us some sujeonggwa. Not much for me to complain about this place. The food was very tasty overall, and the service was wonderful. I would go back and order a full beef BBQ set.
