Love the sticky rice in the dim sum section. 100% go for the steamed fish at the Chinese food section by the cashier. For dessert, they have crepes & cotton candy. Lots of jello & cakes. This place is in a very odd location of Flushing. But they have a parking lot but when we were there it was full. So we had to find parking on the street. We went here on Sunday during lunch. I went on thanksgiving eve; the price was 55$ per person which is VERY pricey but understandable given the holiday. There were a lot of food options which is something i enjoyed. Good buffets feel like a rare find across NYC but this is a great one even if it is a little further out from main Flushing area. The Buffet is the best Chinese buffet. Ever. They don't serve those Americanized "orange chicken" or "beef a la Szechuan", but authentic Chinese food! There are a lot of seafood and "gan guo", which is a type of Sichuanese cuisine that's fried and very spicy. This place used to be my favorite but has kind of gone downhill. The sashimi is still good, and the place is always busy, so they're doing something right, but here are my issues: 1. To start off you're no longer allowed to self-park your car. It's cool to have a optional valet, but seriously why can't I park my own car in the parking lot? Parking is also no longer free. It's only $2 with validation (plus whatever you tip your valet) but just kind of annoying that you still have to pay for parking even with validation. 2. The tables are super jammed in together. "Social distance" is no longer a thing here. If you don't have a private booth, it means you're sharing a table with another party. 3. The prices continue to go up & up. $55/person tonight. For that price there's much better places on Main Street or Northern Blvd. That all being said, the Peking duck buns and sashimi are still good, the wait staff is nice (though the lady behind the raw bar is a bit rude). It was good to eat there with my cousin and mom for lunch! It's definitely a buffet that there's many different types of food to eat as much as you can (mostly Chinese and a bit of American). The food tasted pretty good and delicious! The also service there was above average except the hibachi stall that the guy served me was quite rude and condescending. He also seem to have a language barrier when I ask for more on my hibachi when I ask more on my beef such as noodles, eggs and some vegetables to make it look really good and delicious and he didn't 'cause he kept ignoring and getting a bit confused at me when I ask to put some more that I only got some beef cooked medium rare and medium well with A1 sauce and very little bit of fried noodles instead when I asked him! In addition, the other stalls such as the appetizers, entrees and desserts had a great variety to take and eat. At the end, I felt super full that I couldn't eat anymore! I was so impressed by this buffet! The restaurant is clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and seated us quickly. There was a huge selection of foods - including sushi, seafoods (including crawfish, crab legs, oysters etc), soups, a plethora of Chinese dishes, dessert bar and more. The foods stay fairly fresh - nothing looked like it's been sitting there for a long time. I was impressed by the quality and flavor of many of the dishes - they were on par with dishes that I would order in a normal sit down Chinese restaurant. I also appreciated their attention to detail - the foods were plated nicely, the counters were always clean, the sushi was neatly rolled, and I appreciated the dessert cakes were pre sliced in small pieces - perfect for when you're already full and just want a small taste of dessert! Some notable things from my visit: The Peking duck Bao station - they slice the meat onto the Bao in front of you. So good! The teppanyaki station - the chef cooks your choice of meats. I chose salmon and it was delicious. I believe you can also order ramen and udon, but I didn't try them because I was so full already. My favorite dishes were the sea bass and fish in chili oil. We have been putting off trying this place for years because we knew that it is a chinese-fare focused buffet and while there's nothing wrong with that, we do not visit buffets in general for chinese food. But with the right opportunity, we visited for a weekend lunch recently. It was as we had expected. Busy and bustling, and with a selection of food per what we had seen in the reviews. I guess one might refer to this as a seafood buffet but really, it is ultimately a chinese buffet with seafood. Oysters & Clams - Raw bar. Not the freshest. Flat, some questionably murky and stanky. Not alot of meat and very flat in flavor. Definitely not the same as going to pay for oysters at a seafood specialty spot or steak restaurant so gauge your expectations. Stone Crabs - Cooked, not raw but at the raw bar section. It's great that they have these and while the meat on the crab was quite fresh and yummy, it's super tedious to get any real meat out and just not worth the work or time. These are very different from snow crab legs, so again, know before you go. For a cracker to open your crab, you need to ask your table server/waitress. Sashimi - Decent sized pieces, piled together on a board. They had salmon, tuna (the usual lower grade pink stuff), red snapper (the firmer fish which was probably our preferred one of the bunch), white tuna (which really isn't a thing. It's escolar to be exact.) and some tako (raw baby octopus marinated in wasabi and ponzu sauce). All decent but again, not for legit avid sashimi connoisseurs. Sushi & Rolls - Your typical selection of various nigiri and rolls. They definitely have less types of rolls than local competitor Mizumi. We don't bother with rolls so I can't attest for taste or quality, just selection. Hot Food - There's alot of this. Centered mostly around chinese style cooking. Some dishes with various seafood such crawfish, crab, shrimp, scallops and squid. Some dishes with chicken, beef, and various veggies - sautéed, fried, and braised. Some dimsum fare, steamed shumai, dumplings etc. Your usual fried rice, noodles. And a small salad bar with cold sides. A hibachi station and some simple noodle soups such as udon. And a meat carving station with the peking duck, american style ham and italian sausage. Overall, almost everything was on the saltier side. This was again, something we had expected based on the kind of foods we knew they would have and the fact that all buffets lean on the saltier side overall. (Saltier = Thirstier = Drink more = Get full = Eat less!) Dessert - Impressive actually. Especially given the fact that people pay good money to go to cafes for some of these things. A good mix of typical buffet desserts (ice cream, mini cakes, fruits etc) but also some good chinese style desserts such as mango and coconut pudding, sesame ball, mochi, etc. Also a chocolate fountain with marshmallows and churros for dipping. Cute. (The sesame ball was very good!) I will say, the shining star of The Buffet is probably the service of the cooking and buffet bar staff. While the table servers were nothing to write home about, maybe this doesn't matter much to some at a buffet. Ultimately all they really do is seat you and serve you drinks. Our waitress never stopped by to actually check on us or refill our water, only passerbys to pick up finished plates. But the folks working the buffet stations were professional, and friendlier than those we've encountered at other buffets. They worked busily to continue outputting food at their respective stations, and customers did not seem to be waiting for anything to restock - not even the popular sushi or raw bar. The lady at the raw bar and the gentleman at the peking duck station were particularly kind and pleasant - they deserve some recognition here, so that's that. Also, their price per person + tax but no tip, makes a difference if you're looking to save a few bucks. All in all. Like everything in LIFE! Like anywhere you choose to spend your money! Gauge your expectations! Set your expectations accordingly and atleast you won't walk away upset or miserable or angry. That's what we do, and it makes us better customers too - fair and unbiased! We probably won't be visiting The Buffet again just for us to eat because of the food. But if we are with a party where this is the best option for everyone, we may oblige. read more

The food was good. The service was absolutely horrendous. The entire family, 6 people came out to celebrate my mom and I's birthday. (It's on the same day) While we were paying for the check, we noticed that there was a birthday special and asked the front desk to honor the special and she straight up ignored my mom. My mom asks again and they were like "we have to ask a manager." Then they said "oh because your check is already rung up we can't offer you it." What kind of excuse is that? Came here last week for my birthday with a group of friends. Food was lacking flavor and a lot of dishes were gone by 8:30. Staff had already started cleaning up their stations. Also, the waitress said they had orange juice but ended up giving me SunnyD. This place was nice. We found this place on Instagram and drove 1-2hrs to get here. The wait for a table wasn't to long and that's a plus. The lines for food are a bit chaotic. My disappointment were the entrees. It lacked flavor and whatever was just put on buffet seems to be precooked in the kitchen and scooped out vs off the wok. I would probably say that this is one of the better buffets out here in Queens, but not without its fair share of hit and misses. I would give this place a high 3 star rating, but rounded up to 4. The Space is quite large and offers a ton of seafood selections. The dinner price for 2 adults came out to a high $87.62 after tax and a 15% service charge (which is not considered tip). Tip is not required however my waiter doesnt get a cut of this mandatory extra 15% service chrg. I think something shady is happening here. Anyway, onto the food. I love that they have sushi rolls and sashimi. They also have raw clams and oysters all shucked and ready for you to grab them. Unlike other places, you don't have to fight to get a piece. The clams and oysters are also edible here! Not to say they are the freshest, but I didnt get sick after eating here! There are also chilled crab legs too. My favorite non seafood item goes to the lamb chops. They are soo tender and juicy with a ton of flavor. They have bubble tea available, just order through your waiter. The tapioca was hard and undercooked, possibly left overnight. Notable mentions : juicy short ribs, snails, cooked clams, jellyfish, peking duck, shrimp cocktail. I'm scratching my head why it took so long for me to discover this awesome buffet! Seriously people, this restaurant deserves better scores. We came on a Tuesday evening and the place was jam packed! The hostess said only 10 mins for small tables. We were skeptical after seeing the huge crowd lining up by the entrance and were ready to walk out but we were seated within 10 minutes which was pretty amazing. It turned out there were many large groups and the restaurant won't seat them until the entire group is present. The buffet is divided into 3 main sections, with cooked dishes such like steamed Chilean bass, sautéed crabs and clams, roast meat, and even a Peking duck station; and the second station is perhaps what everyone has their eyes on, they are sushi, sashimi, oysters, and snow crab legs. Not surprisingly, there's always a line. The third stations are for dessert. I have not been to a buffet restaurant for at least a year and half now and can't tell you how excited I'm to be able to have AYCE crab legs again. They turn out to be pretty descent, chilled, mostly fresh, plump and sweet, better than many of the al carte seafood restaurant. And sashimi selection was good too, with tuna, salmon, red snapper, mackerel and white tuna. I went for multiple rounds and were very satisfied at the end of the meal. This is not your typical suburban Chinese buffet with tons of fried dishes and starches. Everything here is about protein. Tips: 1). this place is busy all week around, weekdays are better than weekends but be prepared to wait. They do accept reservations for big groups, so if you plan to bring a big group, call in advance and make a reservation. 2). There is a parking lot but it's usually pretty full since the entire business unit (a hotpot restaurant, an ala carte seafood restaurant, a karaoke bar, and a hotel) share this parking lot. I am so disappointed with this place. My family and I are always here because we love the food and the atmosphere of this buffet place. But today (Mother's day) is the day that we experience the worst here. This is why: 1. Mother's day they increase the price to 40 bucks for lunch which I don't know why, I felt like they are taking advantage because a lot of people will eat here so they increase it. 2. Because of the price, we thought the foods will be special.. but no. It is the same. We thought that it will be more because it's Mother's Day but the same exact food in here. 3. Only 1.5 hours limit, why? Again I think to take advantage.. short period of time to celebrate Mother's Day the more people will come which then will pay. So more money! 4. Here is the worst part, most of the food are empty, they took so long to refill it. I even went the second time after I ate already to check if they refill the other foods that I didn't ate yet but still empty! Also, if they don't refill and there is only 1.5 hours to celebrate, how can I taste all the food or even enjoy it. I took pictures of the food.. btw including desserts are empty.
