FIVE STARS IS FOR THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT THE FOOD. My friend and I had a good time at the lre- opening night of The Bungalow Kitchen. My friend is a chef, so I really wanted her to experience the new menu with me. First, I have to give credit where credit is due. the customer service was top tier! We were greeted as soon as we walked up, and all of the ladies were so welcoming and nice. The bartenders were super nice as well, as was the GM. And of course, the aesthetic of The Bungalow never fails. The space is beautiful and definitely still has that Bungalow vibe. Our waiter, Devin, was great too! Now, on to the food... sadly, we were pretty underwhelmed. I hate that I have to agree with some of the Instagram comments I had seen about the kitchen because I really expected better, especially with all the hype surrounding Chef Eric and the new menu. One thing that really irked me was that our order of broccolini came out before everything else and sat there for about 20 minutes before our entrees arrived. Our waiter was kind enough to send out another order of broccolini once our entrees came, which I appreciated. They initially added it to the bill, but removed it once I mentioned it. The lasagna honestly tasted like something I could pick up already made from Whole Foods. The pork chop was cooked well, but it lacked flavor. The artichoke dish... I don't even really know what to say. The presentation wasn't great, and we kept pulling pieces of the shell out of our mouths, which was annoying. We had a couple of bites and just did away with it. The mussels were good, but there weren't very many. Mussels are pretty inexpensive, so it would have been nice to have a bit more, especially since they are small. The sauce had good flavor, and we ordered the baguette to dip into it, but it wasn't really a sauce in the traditional sense because it was pretty thin. I think it could have had more substance, especially considering they encourage you to spend $12 on a baguette to dip into it. One other thing I noticed was that Chef Eric was visiting some of the tables around us but never came over to ours. Maybe those were family and friends, so who knows, but considering there were barely any people in the restaurant, I do think it would have been nice for him to make his way around to all of the tables, especially on opening night. I will definitely be back to The Bungalow because I love the space, the people and the drinks. I'm just not sure if I'll be back for dinner. I'm willing to try some of the less expensive items and see how those are. Our dinner bill was around $250, in addition to the $40 we spent at the bar before sitting down. Unfortunately, for us, the food just wasn't worth the bill. Overall, we had a great experience with the staff and the atmosphere, but the food didn't live up to the expectations I had going in. I really wanted to love The Bungalow's reopening and give it another chance. I had been there when it originally opened a few years ago, and although the beautiful setting and location were always a plus, the atmosphere eventually became more club-like with the DJ, which just wasn't my vibe. When I heard they were reopening with a new chef, I was genuinely excited to try it again. First, I want to emphasize that this review is strictly about the food. Everything else was great. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the ambience, atmosphere, views, and location are all wonderful. There is plenty of nearby parking, shops, and other restaurants, making it a great location overall. The staff was also excellent. Our servers were attentive and friendly, and Donald, the manager, was very understanding. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the service or the people working there. Unfortunately, the food was a completely different story. There were four of us dining together, and none of us enjoyed our entrées. I actually felt bad saying anything because we weren't trying to get a free meal or complain just to complain. We genuinely did not like the food. We each left roughly 90% of our entrées on the plates and didn't take them home. I'm not a particularly picky eater, which made this even more disappointing. To me, the food tasted like it had a very processed, canned or frozen quality rather than tasting fresh and freshly prepared. That is the one area that really needs improvement. We still tipped our server because the food was not her fault, and the service itself was good. I truly hope they take the food quality seriously because The Bungalow has so much going for it. The setting, ambience, views, location, parking, and staff are all there. If they can step up the food, I really think they could have a winning combination and a fantastic restaurant. I'm giving three stars strictly because of the food. Everything else deserves high marks. This review is only for their salsa/bachata dancing night and the bar. The bungalow has weekly salsa/bachata nights that include free dance lessons from 8 to 9:30. The instructors are great and the crowd is fun diverse (in terms of age, background, and experience dancing). The djs are also awesome play a lot of good music. The vibe is fun and high energy. It's nice to see a place that is filled with dancers of all skill levels just having fun and learning to dance. The venue itself is beautiful. They have a large open air dance floor that overlooks the marina as well as a smaller dance area inside near the pool tables. The decore is classy and elegant overall. On salsa nights they have drink specials in addition to the regular drink menu. Lastly I once lost my key fob there and someone returned it to their lost and found. I'm forever grateful to whomever returned it and the staff at the front door / lost and found. Overall it's an awesome place to come out and hang out and dance. read more

My friends and I had such a good time here! We came on a Friday afternoon but a few of us came early to grab a table around 7/7:30 to get some drinks and food. I'm so glad we did because it was shoulder to shoulder by the time 9 came around and the line to get in was extremely long. I was obsessed with their fries! I almost ate the whole plate by myself. I also really enjoyed the drink "What a Prick" and their Espresso Martini which I believe goes by a different name on the menu but it was really tasty. The wings were just okay and didn't really have a ton of flavor but I don't think most people come for the food anyways. Just as a heads up, there is a possibility that a group could reserve your table at anytime. So if you want to keep the table, you'll need to buy it or be prepared to get booted in case another party decides to purchase it first. 4 stars for the wings and just the crowd was a lot in my opinion. If I didn't have a table and had to walk around I'm not sure how people would actually dance or lounge (at least in the outdoor area) but I had such a fun time here! Every time I go to the Bungalow it's a great time! My friends and I got there early in the evening on a Friday around 7:30pm. It was perfect because it was no line to get in and we could find a seat and order food and drinks. The waitress we had was very nice and attentive. We got appetizers for the table including fries and spicy wings. Both were pretty tasty! Around 9pm it gets extremely crowded. The DJ starts to play and it turns into a club vibe. Highly recommend getting there early to find a seat but keep in mind if someone buys a table you may have to move. It was a great time! read more

My friends and I had a great this at this restaurant. We arrived early so I feel like our experience was different than what the other reviews may be but I would absolutely come back. My friends and I came to the Bungalow around 6 pm and were able to get a table overlooking the pier. We were able to park across the street and had no issues finding a spot. This place has a homey vibe to get it and I appreciated the different rooms and spaces people could occupy. The music was great and we didn't feel at all cramped in the space. Food and drinks were great! I ordered the sangria which was delicious and my friend got the pigs in the blanket. The only negative was that there was glass on the floor near our seating area. They had no issue cleaning it up but it was definitely a hazard. This place is great and if people visiting wouldn't mistreat it, that would make it even better. read more

Great place to hangout with friends. Its more of a bar and lounge, rather than a restaurant, though they have decent food too. We went on a Saturday evening with friends. There are many different places to sit and chill. The decor is beautiful. We opted for the patio and watched the sunset over the bay. The DJ was cool and did a great playlist. Came once and loved the vibe, great music, food, and drinks. Unfortunately, the way this place treats people is unsettling. A phone call about a small birthday gathering was met with a dismissive, unwelcoming tone. This weekend confirmed the pattern: my sister, who was fully coherent and respectful, was cut off without explanation. Staff ignored her, handed her water without saying a word, and when she calmly asked why, management escalated the situation, said they "can't say," and called security to escort her out simply for asking a question. I understand responsible service. I don't understand refusing to communicate and creating a scene with no explanation. The whole experience felt uncomfortable and borderline discriminatory. BEWARE OF RIPOFF!!!!!! I went on a Saturday night with 4 friends. The place is nice and the ambiance is cool which earned it a an extra star. BUT the bartenders are scammers. I had a gratuity already added on to my drink receipt and then they gave me a receipt to give them an EXTRA tip. If I didn't look closely I would've gave even more. They are ready to prey on drunk patrons. If they see you drunk they will take advantage I was observing them. On another occasion, they said 2 vodka redbulls was $30. Another bartender said 3 vodka redbulls was $36, doesn't add up! ALSO- do not pay cash at the bar they will not give you a receipt and you won't even know how much you paid. The Bungalow in Long Beach has a beautiful, cozy ambiance ~ plush couches, great seating, and that warm, stylish vibe they're known for. It definitely seems geared toward a younger crowd, so we weren't exactly the target audience, but still enjoyed the atmosphere. The biggest downside was the service: basically zero at the tables. We actually had to clear our own space of leftover chicken wings and pizza before sitting down. That said, the cocktails were fantastic, and the bartenders at the lower deck bar were friendly and engaging. Lots of security present inside and out ~ and since we Ubered, parking wasn't an issue at all. Long Beach's premier open-air lounge in my humble opinion! As someone in my 30s I love going on Sundays after 4pm as there's always a nice mixed crowd for chill day party vibes. The DJ sets are always great and I love their selection of cocktails. I'm known to get a bottle of Prosecco and enjoy catching up with friends overlooking the Alamitos Bay. Awww Aight so I'm just a chill OC guy, so I've been to the HB pacific city location like more times than I've been to church (in my whole lifetime) and it's probably my favorite place to go perrearrr, drink and meet pretty people. Let's face it, it's not like OC has much in terms of nightlife. And ever since Mesas epic tragic downfall due to its dog poop mgmt, nasty clientele and just overall boring and shitty vibes ...that really only leaves Bungalow and the whaler at least in the coastal area. But we're not here to talk about boring basic ass OC. We are here to talk about this lovely ratchet and hella diverse location. The energy feels completely different than HB and that's surprisingly the intrigue and value proposition here. Good music, spacious, unpredictable, slightly ghetto and ohh they serve food here. Pulled up for my best friend's birthday on a Sunday and this spot was perfect. It's first come first serve that day but there was still plenty of room for her crew of about 30. The vibe is super laid back with a cool bungalow feel from the moment you walk in. There are different rooms with funky wallpaper, wall art, and even a pool table. Two big bars and servers who will take your order if you're sitting in a section. I moved around a lot while we were there and our server still managed to track me down with my drink which was impressive. Music was on point, the crowd was chill, and the outdoor deck was spacious with a DJ playing smooth Sunday tunes. The food was a nice surprise. Literally don't come here if you don't want to get assaulted by security (Lulu) and belittled by the owner (Jen). My group and I noticed security kept pulling big groups of girls out of the line to cut everyone that had been waiting for over 2 hours to get in. We brought that up to the lady at the front who said she was the owner. The way I was spoken to by her was so unprofessional it was actually insane, she had me leave the line to show her which security member was letting girls in bc she said she would fire them on the spot, I showed her who it was from a distance and she said that I was "falling back on my word now and acting scared" bc I didn't want to go all the way up to the man in his face to show her who it was? why would I have to be put in an uncomfortable situation when she's the one not running a proper business. Even though I pointed out who it was... she never went up to him to "fire" him as she claimed in her words. Fast forward to actually getting inside. My group and I were walking down the hallway talking about what just happened outside still shaken up from it when Lulu the security over heard us, stopped us and had a problem with our own conversation telling us to quit it. He was never spoken to by us in the first place so not sure why he had an issue with us having our own convo and barging in on it. Then around 1:10ish I go up to Lulu to ask him for the owners name and explained to him what happened to us outside and he said "don't talk about my auntie like that" he then proceeded to grab me by my shoulder gripping onto me telling me I have to leave yet he never escorted me out so why are u grabbing me for no reason. All I did was ask for the owners name and explain how crappy the situation was.....for him to grab me was uncalled for and made me feel really uncomfortable and violated. I then tried taking a picture of him and he physically ran to the other side of the room....guilty much? We then end up leaving bc they're kicking everyone out 30 min early for some reason. That same security guard went all the way down the stairs outside of the building following everyone that was leaving hanging out with people. My friend asked him "why would you grab a woman like that" and he then proceeded to say "bc I grabbed her like this?" and then he grabbed my other friend the way he grabbed onto me. At that point we all had enough and went back up to file a report. I think it was one of the managers I spoke to his name was Dontrelle. Even he wasn't the nicest thing he literally sighed at me as I was crying telling him what happened which I get everyone's tired and wants to go home but we just got violated I would think he would've cared more. I then explain everything for the report and he leaves with Lulu, and when he came back he said "why are you still here you can't hangout outside" literally in the most condescending tone. he never even told me that I was good to go home, how was I supposed to know the report was complete and I was all good to go? Plus his security team was talking to me and they were all comforting me. Shoutout to the security team that actually had a heart and a good soul to comfort someone and acknowledge when something isn't right. I really hope y'all actually make this right as I would hate for this to happen to anyone else ever again. This whole situation is very alarming.. This place is honestly a joke. We waited in line for almost 2 hours while security kept people outside for no reason -- and when we finally got in, there was so much open space inside. It wasn't even close to full. They're clearly holding people outside on purpose to create fake hype, which is honestly pretty messed up. You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. To make it worse, they stopped serving drinks and turned the lights on at 1:15 AM, way earlier than literally any normal bar. So after wasting hours in line, you barely even get time inside. And it somehow gets worse -- at 1:35 AM they were literally kicking people out of the restroom. We weren't even allowed to finish or wash our hands before being rushed out. I've ordered small bites a couple of times and they weren't bad, but I usually come for drinks and music. I visited post-pandemic when they had sit down brunch and my girlfriends from out of town loved it. But I think I prefer the regular set up with space to move around and dance if you want. The table set up was a little stuffy to me. Drinks are cool and the servers are always sweet and kind. I love an indoor/outdoor layout, so I'll always frequent this place. Been here for birthdays and other special occasions and everyone always has a good time - again, this is typically on Sundays and with the soundtrack from Steve. I love going here on Saturdays for the club night. I always have a good time enjoying the music provided by Dj Dynamix. I like to people watch as well. Steve Dub usually does Sunday brunch there. I definitely want to come back and check out the brunch vibes. The decor of The Bungalow is nice you get outdoor vibes inside and a view of the marina. I do recommend going there for dancing if you're looking for a place to get out just know there will be a line to get in but its worth it. read more

What an amazing spot! I visited for the first time this past Friday, and it exceeded all expectations. Naya, our server, was incredibly attentive and wonderful. The place was spotless, and the added security really gave me a sense of safety. The view was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. We tried the artichoke spinach dip, and it was fantastic. Mixed crowd (age wise). Music was flowing. Great place for a group or just sitting and vibing on your own. There is free parking and pay parking. Just got to find your right spot for free parking. Nice bar for hang outs. Came here after work with coworkers for drinking. This place opens at 5pm on a Friday and our group showed up at 5pm. There's free parking at the structure. It's free for 90 min without validation and Bungalow provides validation but I'm not sure how much longer it validates for. Bungalow is located on the second floor. It's right next to the second floor of the parking lot which was convenient. Interior is fancy and as you walk towards the back, there's a balcony that overlooks the ocean. I don't drink so I just ordered bungalow sliders ($18) and two cookies ($3 each). The cookies were below average in my opinion. The chocolate chip cookie just crumbles when you try to pick it up. There's no way of grabbing it. The peanut butter cookie was better in that it holds its shape but didn't taste the peanut butter much. The sliders and fries were good. Our group ordered nachos, pretzel bites, hot dog pretzel bites, and couple pizzas. They were really good and had no complaints of the food. Servers were nice and accommodated our large group and provided bunch of water and water cups. They brought food to our tables. After spending some time riding duffy boats in the Alamitos Bay and Naples Canals me and a group of friends celebrating my best friends birthday decided to stop by here to grab a bite and get some drinks. The service was great, our servers were attentive and efficient, the ambiance and vibes of the place are immaculate, there's a pool table and an out door patio with huge couch seating. The food was delicious we ordered the Mediterranean Dips, which came with Tzatziki, Hummus, Marinated Olives and Pita the pita was grilled to perfection and the hummus and tzatziki were seasoned by the Gods. I don't eat olives but the group cleared them! We also ordered House Pretzel bites with Gouda cheese sauce and spicy mustard.....Gouda me down every thyme! The Spicy Wings which were spicy but exceedingly flavorsome. And lastly the Bungalow Sliders which were delectable, the slider melted in ya mouth! This review is for night life only. This place is LIT on the weekends and a fun Sunday funday place to gather and have drinks while dancing the night away. The set up of bungalow is so dreamy with the outdoor views it screams summer CA feels all year long. The bartenders make some great spicy margaritas. They do have an espresso martini machine which isn't my favorite but it gets the job done. Djs are on point here and the vibe is just FUN, no stuck up people, genuine vibes.
