I've always seen these spot and noticed how busy it is, but I never actually had the chance to try it. I came here on a friday morning with my mom and waited around 10-15 minutes I believe. Once we were sat, we decided on ordering the breakfast burrito with chorizo and the nutella french toast. For drinks we ordered the dirty chai with oatmilk and a regular chai latte. The drinks were okay nothing too special. The outdoor seating was very cute, super nice since it is right by the beach. As for the food, I thought the burrito was okay, I can't say it was something I'd come for again. As for the nutella french toast, it was also okay, put nutella on anything and I'll eat it, but I'd love to come back to try other things on the menu. The service was okay, my server was not very attentive, and I was looking for her everywhere, but maybe it was a bit busy.. Overall, this is a very cute spot, I would come back to try other things on the menu due to the location and wide variety on their menu. The Food: In the past, I've come only for the dessert, but this review will focus on my most recent visit when my wife and I had brunch here. I ordered the quiche Lorraine, a classic variety that featured ham, cheese, and bacon. It was firm, hearty, and delicious. The wife thought it was a little dry, but then again I like hard boiled eggs and she prefers them runny, so I chalk it up to personal preference. My wife had the breakfast burrito, which was stuffed with all kinds of goodness, including egg, ham, bacon, and chorizo con papa. We both really liked it but thought it had just a hint of sausage. If it was more meaty, it would have been flawless. The Location: It's located on Main Street near the beach, so street parking is extremely limited. I came on a Tuesday morning and didn't have an issue, but lunchtime and weekends are insnae. Visit off peak hours to avoid the traffic jam or a long wait. The Setting: Crema is a medium sized establishment, with about half the space taken up by the bakery line. Fortunately, there's an outdoor seating area with about another 10 tables. Since we brought our dogs, we chose the latter option and enjoyed the shade provided by the umbrellas. Everything is clean and well organized. The Service: The customer service is great. The staff was all polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. The Price: This is really the only con: everything is 10% to 20% more expensive here. I call it the beach tax. Shops along any beach can implement it because people are willing to pay it in order to enjoy the amenities and location. The Conclusion: The Crema Cafe is one of our go-to restaurants for brunch and dessert any time we come to Seal Beach. It's not flawless, but we always leave happy. read more

I moved to Florida 2 years ago and recently moved back to Seal Beach to live. Was looking forward to eating one of my favorite entrees at your restaurant. Quiche Lorraine and salad. The two bites of Quiche were crunchy with eggshells, and the version of your previously delicious salad with corn, shredded carrots and tomatoes was no longer. There was far more rotten lettuce on the plate than what is shown in this photo! Unacceptable! We have been coming here for several years now, whether it was to dine in or purchase pastries to-go. Our most recent visit was unfortunately something we have never experienced before. When we arrived, we put our names on the Yelp list at the host stand, which said "wait time: 10 minutes." Since we knew we had some time, we went to the bakery side to see what was left for the day. After deciding what we wanted, I stood in line, as the only customer, and waited for someone to assist me, which did take some time. An employee had been organizing the pastries while we were looking at options and walked away as we approached the line. I looked around to see if anyone was there to help and eventually made eye contact with that same employee as they made their way back to the front. They looked directly at me, picked up their phone, and turned their back. A few minutes later, they came to the register and asked, "Are you ready?" During the transaction, they were completely rude and had a very attitude-ish tone. They asked if I wanted a bag, I said yes, and they rolled their eyes before slamming the bag with my pastries onto the counter. They also didn't finish my transaction and had another employee do it while they went back to their phone. While waiting for our names to be called, we noticed it had been longer than the 10-minute wait and there had not been a hostess at the front for quite some time. Eventually, two hostesses had grabbed menus and gone inside, but had not come back to help the parties waiting. I also noticed they were on their phones and talking to other employees. When one finally came back to the front, I asked when our table would be ready and was told another 10 minutes. When they finally called our name, they told us they still needed to finish setting up the table. Mind you, there were only about five other parties dining inside and outside, so it was pretty empty. The hostess went inside to set up our table and didn't come back for another five minutes. I let the other host know, and the first host eventually came back out and said it would be another 10 minutes because they still needed to set up the table. The table had been set up the entire time. Once we were finally seated, our server took our order. When the food came out, the potatoes were extremely salty, and the person I was with received both ends of the loaf of bread instead of the middle. When we mentioned it to our server, they offered a free pastry, but did so in a condescending tone. Safe to say, this was our first time experiencing anything like this here. Our other visits have been great, but this experience was really off and disappointing. We are now hesitant to dine here again and/or recommend it to others. read more

Main Street Seal Beach is such a charming little area and The Crema Cafe is the best breakfast/brunch place on the street! It's definitely a local favorite. So beware that it can get very crowded, especially during prime time weekend hours. The earlier you go, the better! This place has seating inside and even more seating outside. There's so many options for breakfast, lunch, and baked goods. I use to come frequently because I lived walking distance from here. I love stopping here for a croissant and a coffee before I go visit the seal beach pier. Very cute spot that's always packed for the full service dining. They have a separate door/line for to go orders which makes it very convenient. The croissants/pastries are always super fresh. Service is always quick and friendly. We loved this cafe. We had never explore old town Seal Beach before, what a little gem by the pier. Crema Cafe definitely seemed like a local favorite. We went on a Monday around 10:30am and we had to wait about 10 mins. They had a texting system so we could walk around a bit while we waited. We got seated promptly before 10 mins as promised and we had a very nice and attentive server throughout our brunch. Ambiance is cute traditional American cafe with part bakery to order to-go, inside and outside seating. They had a nice selection on their menu that had something for everyone. My husband had the smoked salmon omelet and I had a scramble (I can't remember the name), but had eggs, crunchy bacon and tomatoes with avocado on top. Cream cafe is adorable. It's off Main street in Seal beach and although it was a busy weekend day, I got lucky and found a parking spot right out front. Talk about Lucky! I was with a meet up group of about 12 people and since we made reservations, we had a nice little corner at back of the patio. The servers was very patient and answered all the questions and sent the food order in waves so the food came out rather quickly. The regular coffee, it was a bit confusing but if you order a coffee for dine in, you do get free refills. But, the way the menu is worded. There was some confusion from the group. Drink: Matcha Latte with almond milk, this is my new thing right now! I absolutely loved it. It was rich and creamy. Definitely worth a try as an alternative to coffee. Food: I happened to sit next to a person who was eyeing 2 different Benedict and also a waffle so we ended up sharing the 3 items! The Persian Benedict has a fried egg and Brie! Omg, what a game changer. I'm also on a brie kick, too. It comes in wave. The crossiant is a nice touch and it was soft ans flakey. The carnitas Benedict was also very good, it had a great flavor. There was a lot of potatoes as well. I had to take some home. It had decent flavor. The Belgium waffle was worth the share. Cute cafe with tasty food! I came during brunch hours and had the avocado toast with a side of crispy bacon and sausage. I also had an iced spanish latte with added cinnamon and it was made to perfection! You must order the crème brûlée! It was pretty busy on a Saturday so I recommend making a reservation and parking can be tricky. read more

Love Crema Cafe! I have been a very loyal customer for over 7 years. I especially loved their english muffins.... up until recently when they chose to change the recipe of the muffin. It used to be such a treat as the recipe for the muffins was so delectable and different. I ordered them everytime and looked forward to it! The rest of the menu is great as always, but since the change, the current muffins are nothing more than what I can purchase at any grocery store in town. It would be worth it to have the ability to purchase the muffins made from the original recipe. So I guess in lieu of that Ill have to start patronizing other restaurants instead of paying for grocery store muffins @ Crema. read more

Located on Main Street in seal beach, this brunch spot is such a gem! It's best to make reservations then check in with the host. Staff is friendly and helpful here. We were seated in the outdoor patio area where it was shaded with umbrellas and trees. I had the best smoked salmon bagel here! I normally don't order that, but felt I would try something different that day and I'm so glad I did! I layered onions, tomatoes, and capers on top of the smoked salmon and I had it on the everything bagel. I love salt so if you are limiting or avoiding salt, don't get this combo. Lol. The fried egg sandwich was delicious according to my daughter. And the smoked salmon Benedict was another winner. The strawberry Nutella crepes were good too but best as a dessert. There were a few birthdays being celebrated that afternoon. It was so cute seeing the older ladies being so happy being celebrated. Arrived a bit close to closing time so our order was in a to go box. So experience here was not full. We ordered a sandwich each. I ordered croquet monsieur Ham, cheese, bechamel. It was a different but nicely complimented combo. The bechamel sauce gave it a heavy filling the cheese and ham were so good together. The sourdough was nicely toasted. I ordered garlic fries for an extra fee. Next was grilled cheese with grilled garlic now that was a nice classic flavor and definitely not stingy with the onions. That order was potatoes. They were ok. We also ordered the teas . I ordered strawberry tea it was so refreshing and nice flavor. The other was mango green also good but strawberry hibiscus was SOOO much better. I also ordered coffe panni cotta or something like that it was this little pot of chocolate heaven. It had a rich butterscotch taste at first then I had a second spoon it had the coffee liquid on the bottom. This tho is nice thick pudding brulee like chocolate coffee goodness! Let me say I will be back for it. They also had a honey one. I ordered a macaroons to go 1 small normal then another large with fresh raspberries in it. If you're walking in downtown Seal Beach, walk - no, RUN! - to the Crema Cafe. Absolutely spectacular. It does get pretty crowded on a weekend, but I only popped in to grab some totable eats while we were walking down to the pier. So many choices. I chose two different muffins: the apple cinnamon and the banana nut. Both were absolutely delicious. While there, I eyed many different kinds of bread. If I lived locally, I would definitely be here often. I did spot some freshly made coconut macaroons, and stopped in a bit later to pick up a package of them to bring back to my husband (a coconut macaroon connoisseur). He said they were great: moist, loaded with coconut and sure enough, devoured in short order. A great find! read more

This time we tried the coconut scone and raspberry & cheese danish, which were both fantastic! We also had our faves with the breakfast burrito and roasted veggie sandwich (+ pesto aioli). First the positives: great setting and great service! Reservations can be made online and I highly recommend this; we were able to be seated even earlier than our reservation (probably because we were a small party of 2) despite lots of people waiting outside for tables. The food, at least what I ordered, was extremely mediocre. I ordered a chicken mushroom crepe and added spinach. A crepe with cheese, chicken and mushrooms did arrive, as did the spinach tucked inside, but where was the cheese? Where was the creamy garlic sauce? The crepe served to me was bland and with little puddles of oil, not creamy garlic sauce, on top. My friend said her breakfast burrito was good, so I guess 1 out of 2 ain't bad. Crema Cafe is located on Seal Beach's Main Street. There are tons of restaurants and little shops, but this is a spot you'll want to visit. I've been twice now and both times my wait wasn't too long, and one of those visits was on Mother's Day. They have an iPad where you sign yourself in and indicate your party size. There's also a spot for you to note if you prefer inside, outside, or first available. The inside can feel crammed because some of the tables along the window feel a little too close together, but it's not terrible. Outside is nice and spacious, plus the umbrellas provide shade for those sunny days. Their London Fogs are excellent! The food is also pretty darn good. I've tried the fried egg sandwich, waffle, and buttermilk pancake. You need to order the friend egg sandwich on the brioche bread. We subbed it for sourdough bread on our second visit and agreed that the brioche was better. After you eat, you can walk your food off on Main Street. It's a beautiful walk and has great views at the end of the street with benches facing the beach. read more

Cute little cafe; The perfect place for lunch on a rainy day. :) There was a bit of a wait, but we got seated on a small table in a cozy corner of the restaurant. I ordered a Caprese Omelette and my friend got a Peppermint Coffee and Avocado Toast.
