I live a 10 minute walk from here and I wanted nothing more than to make this my go to spot. It looks fun and interesting from the outside and really draws you on. But let me be clear, this place is not worth it. I've gone here about 5 times this year, each time hoping it would be a better experience since my girlfriend loves the drinks and it's a super close walk home. I usually keep it simple at new places and get a burger and a beer. Bad choice. The burger was super pink inside when I asked for it medium well. It was drenched in grease, dry, and bland. Still hadn't gotten my beer at this point. 25 mins later, the waitress finally came back to check on us. My girlfriend had finished eating and honestly, I was just ready to leave. She offered me a box so I told her that I didn't need one seeing as my burger wasn't cooked right and had no flavor. She didn't offer a new one or a different dish, just handed us the check. Never got my beer and didn't eat yet they made us pay for the whole thing. The next time I went there, we were brought back into a tiny little room in the very back that was behind a closed door. There was already a party of about 11 in the room, three families with kids screaming and running around and throwing things. The waitress tried to apologize and tried to ask the other table to quiet down because they weren't alone though it did no good. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries and a mixed drink from the menu. because I didn't think there was anyway to mess that up. I was wrong. Fries had no salt or seasoning at all and neither did the chicken. I wasn't told that the drink I ordered was no longer available until I got my food so I just ordered a soda. All in all, this time was probably my best experience because at least the server was somewhat attentive. The third time I went, we ordered a smorgasbord. BBQ wings, loaded nachos, bacon cheese fries, philly panini, mexican tacos, and a turkey club wrap. My mom was visiting so we wanted a little of everything. We each ordered menu drinks and waters. The wings barely had any sauce and the fries had practically no bacon. The panini was soggy and the tacos were cold. Our waitress was nowhere around and someone else brought out our food then never checked back in. We had to ask the bartender if he could find someone to get us a check. After that, I only went with my girlfriend and got drinks while she ate because I know she enjoys it. She always orders me food to be delivered to our place for when we get home. Honestly, it's a waste of time. Service is mediocre and you can get better food from the burger king down the road. read more

Ordered 4 sandwiches, 3 fries. Everything was actually rather tasty, only they overcharged me around $10. So I totaled up my order the next day and I should have been charged $49 and change. I was charged $57 and change. I promptly called them up. Their total had me at $53 because "they recently raised their prices", only the price increase is not reflected on their menu online or the one I received less than a year ago from the restaurant. Hmmmm....suspect. Furthermore, the guy on the phone (he was polite, which is good), told me he could not refund the transaction to my credit card and reprocess because "they already closed it out the night before" and I need to go back and pick up $4 in cash. Everyone was nice and polite about everything (the woman working at the counter even apologized for being terse and rude when we picked up the order; however I found her neither terse no rude), but next time I venture back (if I do), I am going to make a point to check the total. This is a great family friendly place with breakfast, great drinks, and smoothies. It's one of my favorite places in Long Beach and The waiters were very nice. The kids loved the pictures on the menu and it's a very cute place. It has indoor and outdoor seating and the inside was nice but I sat outside and was very comfortable. read more

Rude, terrible service, subpar food. To begin, I have never been fully satisfied with any meal I have ordered from here and have always left feeling like I paid too much for what I was served. The salad are doused in dressing, the smoothies all contain the unnecessary additive, tofuti, and their egg sandwiches are the worst I have ever had. How do you mess up an egg sandwich??? When they moved locations (which took them more than a year to move a few stores down) I had heard some good reviews and decided to give it a try again. Unfortunately, nothing about the service or quality had changed. I went there for breakfast last week and had to ask the waitress 3 times for coffee. I was told it was free refills, but the waitress was no where to be found until I had finished my breakfast, at which point she brought me an entire carafe of coffee. Maybe suitable for the beginning of the meal, not at the end. I just went there to grab a salad for lunch. For reasons unknown, they enforce a $20 credit card minimum. I order a buffalo avocado salad with chicken, which they charged me $17 for! I was on my bike, no where near my house, and only had a credit card on me. When I told the man at he counter (tall with glasses) that all I had was a credit card, he said "I guess I'm having a salad for lunch" and turned away! I am a local. I frequent local restaurants that have good service and good food. This is not one of them. I urge you to not give this place your business. read more

Absolutely love this place!! Food is FRESH, FRESH, never frozen, made from scratch, that is why you may have to wait a bit after ordering. Last visit had the mussels in red sauce, wow - delicious!! The food is overpriced and takes forever but is decent. The one star is for the immature staff answering the phones in the morning on 1/1/18. While trying to place my delivery order someone was on the other phone moaning and making immature noises. I said something and both the girl taking the order and the guy started laughing. I passed the phone off to my husband who was able to place an order after talking to two different people. Get a grown up to supervise the idiots, please. The Bungalow is a fantastic place for salads, paninis, wraps, and smoothies. Although I've never had breakfast there, my good friend commented that she goes there all the time for it and it's delicious. This afternoon we sat outside for some lunch and everything was so good, from the service to the prices to the food. I ordered a Greek salad and had some avocado and grilled chicken added to it. It was great! My friends got a salad and a panini and agreed about the food quality. The large iced tea that a friend of mine ordered was also very good. Good quality meat, lots of it, and a big size salad. There's a decent amount of seating inside ( they're moving next door to a bigger space soon) and its kept nice and cool with a TV playing as well. All in all, it was a great experience and I guarantee I'll be there a lot more. read more

The (East End) Bungalow has perhaps the best food in Long Beach. I really like it. Somewhat of an upscale diner-type menu, but everything's really excellent, and I don't give that grade to many places. The folks running the place and working there really care, and it's obvious. No nasty waitresses or felons on staff, just nice people. That's another quality missing from most Long Beach restaurants. I'd also add that it's a nice place to bring kids. Laid back and fun. Put that all together and I'd say The Bungalow is nearly perfect. Why only four stars? Blaring Haitian rap music. What's with that? High School Chill ambiance? Chases me out and I have to eat at one of the tables outside. Maybe people like that stuff, but I live in America and would rather listen to the Beach Boys and carry on a conversation with other folks. Oh yea, minus one-half star for televisions which are simply uncouth in an eatery. I'll bet if they stepped up the ambiance a notch they'd eliminate some of the babies who leave one-star reviews because the salt shakers were clogged, their Food Stamp Card was declined or their shake delivery took forty minutes. Always my go to spot in Long Beach on the east end! The chicken quesadilla is my favorite because it's all white meat and cooked so perfectly. They must use the best chicken around because I'm not a big meat eater and this is flavored extremely well. Their turkey burger also has really good flavor and another favorite of mine. The Bungalow has some pretty good food. I love the chicken caesar wraps, the west coast panini, the chicken quesadilla, and the strawberry mango smoothies. It is definitely a little pricier than most nearby restaurants, but it's not bad. The staff is nice, and the place is clean. It has a beach vibe, which is perfect for the location. It's close to me, so I go here often. The locals like it, and not many tourists come here, so it's never too crowded. Overall, it's a nice place. read more

Called the east end location to place an order to the beach on Roosevelt for pickup at the beach entrance. Hostess said "idk if we deliver to the beach maybe if you're in Long Beach" didn't even let me explain we called the east end location because were in the east end. Apparently the east end location doesn't deliver. We ended up walking to the east end location to sit down for dinner. Guac was disappointing it was very basic avocado tomato some onion no cilantro garnish or garlic when it was mixed or served also was poorly mixed. It came with salsa which also seemed bland. Turkey special panini looked good and was a good size 4/5. BBQ chicken wrap was disappointing chicken used in it was just a diced grilled chicken cutlet that was covered covered in barbecue sauce after it was cooked. 2/5 The highlight was the frozen drinks pina colada and mango colada were good and weren't overly sweet and tasted great 5/5 Service was also good. Likely will return to treating this place as a take out spot and not a restaurant. read more

Just had a chicken quesadilla from Bungalow East End. I only ordered because everyone from work was ordering. I have had this before and wasn't thrilled but thought I would give it another chance. I can now say that their food is consistently lacking in flavor. I did add my own salt and pepper but it was still bland and not enjoyed at all. Had breakfast there on Sunday food was adequate but after spending $40 on breakfast I took out my credit card to pay for breakfast I was in notified by the waitress that there is a service charge for using credit card it was not on the menu it wasn't she didn't tell me until until I was ready to pay it wasn't stated on the menu not fortunately the $0.75 that they will charge use a credit card means nothing but I feel it was an imposition on their port not to notify me before I sat down to eat or when I was ordering not to tell me at the last minute that that's what I wanted to do I just think it's a poor business practice spoke to a person who denied he was the owner or manager and told me well that's the way it is and we will never go back into there again I don't think anybody else should if they want to charge they should notify it customer before he eats read more

I live around the corner from The Bungalow. Love the food, but the waitstaff is terrible. They forget things that you order, have no idea what is on the menu and take forever to come to your table. Love walking over and having a good, cheap breakfast or grabbing a sandwich before hitting the beach. But! Do not expect for your order to ever be right. From an egg sandwich (literally last weekend they forgot my home fries) to a salad (yes, it's possible. The consistently forget my chicken). The kids working there never write anything down but nice. The manager is nice but always making coffee or smoothies. So overall, service stinks but food is good and cheap. read more

I just want to start with wow. Severs were all great. It was a slow Thursday so all five people on staff had a sighting at our table and each one just as pleasant as the next. Fish tacos were best I've had in a long time. They also accommodated the fact that we were visibility exhausted and out to eat with three children all under four. When I have gone or ordered from either location the staff has been very pleasant so the one star in no way reflects the staff. However the menu is lack luster, worst of all ordered a chocolate shake and what I thought would be chocolate ice cream came as a sad excuse of vanilla ice cream mixed with some syrup. Seriously? You are going to charge someone $7.00 for a shake that doesn't even have chocolate ice cream. If I wanted a mediocre shake I could of just taken some vanilla ice cream and threw some chocolate syrup on top out of my freezer. Ordered take out from here the other night and was very disappointed. The take out vs. ordering inside was a mess and the girls working the counter didn't seem to help. After ten minutes spent fighting our way in line we were handed our bag and sent home. The order we were given was entirely wrong - so we called up and they seemed to know exactly what happened someone else must have had ours. So they asked us to drive it back. We made it back another ten minutes later with the bag of food and even though the same counter girl saw us and looked directly at us, we were again left waiting for her to help. We swapped bags with the girl (no apology, no thanks for driving back) and headed home. A few issues here: 1. The bag we brought back then sat on the counter and wasn't thrown out. 2. Had our bag gone with someone else and returned? And everything was cold- and by cold I mean the chicken and cheese inside the quesadilla were dry, cold, and the chicken itself bad. The turkey burger was the same way and the wings (which we weren't given blue cheese even though being charged for extra blue cheese). There had been no effort made to keep our food warm or heat it up again. We called back the next day and spoke to the manager and told him the full story- don't worry everyone he will speak to them. read more

I went there to dine in and the service was ok the atmosphere was comforting and the food was good, so why not order out next time right? LITRALLY they were SOGGY and the guac was trash luv. they tasted like they were ironed mate. the cheese in the burrito reminded me of the plastic cheese squares me grandmum used to buy at costco. bloody mug. very bland food. if you're looking for chicken tenders, you would do better purchasing them at mcdonald's. i ordered delivery, to the driver : get a better attitude mate. some of the fries were WET. gave us about 40 utensils for the two of us. read more

The East side bungalow and west side branch differ quite a bit! Just had breakfast on the east end and will never be back. While the food seems to be the same quality as the west end, the place looks filthy and the servers, while polite, are no where near as helpful, friendly or motivated as the staff on the west end. You walk into this place, which has tiki bar decor, and it's practically dark even in the morning. It looks like they forgot to pay the electric bill, which makes me wonder what's lurking in all the dark corners. Food took way too long to come out, even with very few tables occupied. In the meantime, staff is huddled by the entrance texting and talking to one another. I think one restaurant motto is if you can lean you can clean, which may be helpful here.
