Lesson learned. No matter what you think the size of a burger is by looking at a picture believe the reviews. Several Yelpers said the burgers were big and I didn't believe until one arrived at my table. Dude! The burgers are BIG! Rachel waited on me and she was a great help. She suggested the peach margarita and it was really good. Yes..... I tried something other than my standard LONG Island Tea. In my defense this joint only serves beer, wine, and margaritas in reference to alcoholic beverages. Was trying it out in case my wife,fellow Yelper Ebonie M, and her bestie, fellow Yelper Latonya N, decided to try this joint. Also wanted to stay away from the beer. Had enough of that in Memphis for a life time. Okaaaayyy I saw peach and was thinking of the peach daiquiris from New Orleans and wanted one. Geeeeezzz!! LOL! Now I'm going to try being as detailed as my wife on this review. I had the #7. The BBQ Barn Burger......100% beef, Grilled Onions, BBQ sauce, lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles, Mayo on a toasted Bun. I also added bacon to my burger. The bacon was on point. I also had the regular Onion Rings as suggested by Rachel. The burger was reminiscent of a home cooked burger dripping with deliciousness. Seriously I kept going back and forth trying to decide if this burger was great or just good. I finally decided, after a few more sips on my peach margarita, that it was good. The onion rings were good as well. The margarita...... Well I don't normally drink them but MIKEY LIKES IT! If you're old enough you got that. The ambience is befitting the name of the establishment. From the rustic decor down to the natural worn wood floor boards. Gives you the feel of a barn yard. Overall this is a nice spot to stop in and give a try. The burger aficionado gives this joint a three. It's good, but I must say if somebody in that kitchen discovers that beef patties can be seasoned before being cooked......a lil salt and pepper and BOOM!!!! We have come to place several times. The burgers are really good- home cooked, flavorful and fresh. My favorites are the Lucy Barn Burger and the Original Barn Burger. Their onion rings and fried pickles are pretty good too. My husband really likes the Bacon Cheddar Barn Burger. The service is always good and food service is fast. Teas and water are self service which is nice. They have a huge menu complete with mexican food, seafood, and salads too. I haven't explored those areas yet, but I will! read more

It's above average burgers that's 100% better then Mac Donald's or Wendy's. Since this place been open it's always been packed, people are sick of the fast-food chains I guess. Burger Barn is a great little place. The name pretty much says it all as you walk in and the menu has burgers made pretty much with whatever you want on it. The setting of the place is really well put together and I enjoy coming here for a good ole burger that is sure to make you feel full and make you think that was a great choice. My parents dragged me here saying it was their favorite burger place in Richmond. My brothers agreed, but they'll eat anything so I took it with a grain of salt. Although they did warn me how filling it was and that they couldn't finish their meal. A feat I had to see in person. I tried one of their simple original burgers, fried and a couple onion rings. It was exactly what you'd expect from a small burger joint, greasy. Guilty pleasure greasy. There's-no-way-I-have-enough-points-on-weight-watchers-greasy. Love the burgers, though they are so big I usually get the kids burger. My favorite are the wings! They have great fries and the lime aid is the BEST! The atmosphere is fun and friendly and the staff are wonderful! This is NOT fast food it is quality food so you may wait 10 to 15 minutes for a fresh burger but it is worth it! I think it's a standard burger joint. Nothing really spectacular. I would definitely be back. Its definitely better than 2Ms and obviously a step up from whataburger. The meat was tasty. I personally wish they would toast the bun or warm it. I think that would have added more to it. The atmosphere to laid back with signs everywhere. They serve beer but its the basics..Atleast they carry shiner and dos x which you can't go wrong with those. If you're in town, try it. But its not necessarily a place where you would feel the urge to drive 1 hour to satisfy your craving. read more

This was my first time at The Burger Barn. I came on an early Friday afternoon (they open at 10:30am). I like how they have things set up. Wood floors, word/galvanized sheeting on the walls, table cloths are the red/white print. It reminds me of an old country cafe I ate at during my younger days. I walked up to the counter to place my order. They have a lot of different burgers and other grilled/fried type of foods. The woman was nice, but nothing special. I had a craving for fried mushrooms and order that along with a number 6 (burger/cheddar/bacon). Hey, we all gotta die someday! :) The woman gave me my large ice tea and a number. I managed to find a table that wasn't too wobbly. Seriously, most of the tables had a very bad wobble. I thought a couple of them were ready to break apart. The fried mushrooms came out fairly quick and they were very good. Hand battered and not your frozen in a bag variety. The mushrooms came with some ranch dressing which was very good as well. It did seem like it took longer than the usual amount of time to get the hamburger, but it wasn't too bad. The burger's meat patty looked to be handmade, loaded with veggies, and was between a fresh/toasted bun. I liked the burger. It was made the old fashion way like I enjoyed when I was a kid. The only thing this place is missing are the chocolate malts. Then again, they do sell beer and margaritas (grownup food :). Overall, I liked The Burger Barn and wouldn't hesitate to come back when I have a burger craving. The place was very clean and had a good atmosphere (if you like the old style hamburger joints). The burgers are cooked like they were when I was a kid. No flames, no charcoal, no wood chips, just a good ol' fashion hot griddle. I'm hoping their location doesn't hurt them. I waited for all of the big crowds to die down before I gave The Burger Barn a try. Wow! I was seriously impressed. I had the #12 burger with a fried egg. It was perfect in every way. My daughter got the burger with bacon and cheddar cheese and she loved it! In addition to the burgers, we had an order of onion rings and a small order of wings. Both were cooked perfectly! They have the best lemonade and the absolute best veggie burger! I didn't think I can eat the whole thing, but I couldn't put it down. I definitely cannot save it for later. And their fried mushrooms are off the chain as well. Just make sure you have at least four people sharing because it is a large serving. Went here for lunch while attending a class for work in Rosenberg. My buddy used the Yelp app and said this was the place to go. I had the Peanut Burger with peanut butter on it. I was a little nervous because I've only had one other hamburger with peanut butter on it. This burger was FANTASTIC. Definitely made a fat boy happy! They do not pride themselves on service but their food is amazing. They really do have some of the best wings in Houston (they deserve 5 stars). It is literally a hit or miss on the customer service and the workers are inconsiderate. We went on a Saturday night. Surprisingly it was not busy at all. We were greeted by staff as we entered the restaurant. We didn't really know what to do and just sat at a table. There are some flaws, the uniform needs to be consistent. Some girls should not wear short shorts, and one server had saggy pants, very unethical. The ambiance is nice. Come here ready to eat! This is the place to go for unique burgers. For under 6$you can enjoy a pretty BIG hamburger with many varieties to choose from. I had the chic teriyaki barn burger. A chicken sandwich with teriyaki sauce, pepper jack cheese, grilled pineapple, lettuce, tomato, pickle. .. it was a finger liking mess and totally worth it considering it wasn't just a chicken sandwich it was a real chicken breast. This places never disappoints with the taste of their food. But it's a small space with a small service staff, so if they are busy or there is party you will be waiting a while for a table and food. I don't like that they won't allow you to add on bacon to a kids meal. What's the big deal? If you charge me extra and I pay it shouldn't be a big deal. And they will argue you down about it. The wait times are certainly long. I had the advantage of going into the building knowing this already from a friend so it might improve your experience to know this ahead of time so you walk in with a mood of patience. It is crowded and has a parking lot, but you may end up having to park on the street which isn't too far away at least. For me, the wait was worth it. One of the better burger joints in the area with dozens of different kinds of burgers to choose from and pretty decent wings. Famous for their fries they are not. Bigger than fast food chain size portions, fresh and hot food and natural cut fries. However a coworkers avocado burger had mashed avocado instead of slices. Didnt look good and the avocado was lost in the bun. It's odd because another order of an avocado topped with sliced avocado. My sandwich had lettuce but the iceberg was in a large chunk instead of broken up or layered. So the toppings could use some help. They also could have a faster ordering system during the lunch hour and possibly have the drink station available in front of the counter for refills. Do they not trust the customers? Hubby picked up burgers and fries for us for lunch. The burger wasn't hot but it was still very fresh and tasty. "To-Go" is a "No-Go" I called in to place a to-go order and I had to call 3 different times until they took my order because I was placed on hold each time for 5mins before I decided to just hang up and call back. Once they finally did take the order it took less than a min for me to place it. Once I arrived to pick it up I had to wait 30 mins for my "to-go order." The burgers are good but they clearly don't know how to work the kitchen in a way to which you expedite a to-go order. I want to love this place, but it's definitely gone downhill more and more each of the last 3-4 times I've been here. I've been lucky and always had good food here, but the problem is the staff. There's ALWAYS dirty tables which makes me question if they are too lazy to bus the tables, how dirty is everything else? Also there's always 2 people up front and 1 is always standing around. The past 2 times here when I was in the middle of ordering, the cashier answered the phone and started taking a phone order. Crazy. I get it, you are trying to multitask, but put them on hold and finish the one you started first, OR have the other person standing around take care of phone orders. Anyways. The last time we went the AC was either not working or struggling to keep up, which made it miserable to eat there. My kiddos love this place, but each time we go I feel they are doing less and less to keep customers happy and just don't care. Hope management does something. read more
