Which is fascinating, because The Good Egg has this very visible sign right when you walk in praising their 2023 Beacon Readers Choice Awards for the area's best breakfast. This is not an award-winning restaurant or experience. The first feeling I had was that the Good Egg reminded me of a hotel restaurant. The ambiance and decor are generic and stale. The team barely gave a good morning when I walked in, and I noticed they had the same nonchalant attitude toward other guests. I will say that that I was impressed with the cleanliness, and the menu is extensive. with breakfast and brunch served daily. The menu features lighter options, like yogurt parfaits and avocado toast, a variety of Eggs Benedict, hearty skillets, classic breakfast plates, omelettes and Southwestern-inspired dishes, such as chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. They also have pancakes, a Belgian waffle and French toast on the menu. It seems the stuffed French toast is popular. There are also sandwiches, wraps, melts and salads. They also seem vegetarian and kid-friendly. But, goodness, the food is quite bland. It has no soul in it. I will say that the bacon is outstanding. But all else -- underwhelming.

I got the mimosa flight with orange, cranberry, pineapple, and grapefruit, a fun way to try a few flavors instead of committing to one. For food I ordered the salmon Benedict on gluten free bread. As someone who's gluten free, it's rare to find a Benedict I can actually eat, so this was a nice surprise. Our server was attentive throughout the meal and checked in without being intrusive. Food and drinks were both solid. Will be back to try more of the menu.

They are able to take your phone number down and they'll text you when your table is ready if you wanted to go for a stroll before your meal. My go-to is usually the House Cured Salmon Benedict with a side of Man Candy which is bacon with brown sugar and paprika. Always delicious! It comes with a side of house potatoes which is pretty basic but I always end up mixing them up with leftover yolk and hollandaise. If you eat plant based, they have some delicious vegan options as well! Service is great. Seating can be a little snug but overall not too bad. And honestly, pricing is pretty reasonable for the quality you get considering the cost of food nowadays. Fig Tree never fails and I can't recommend this place enough.

The lunch special is a good deal: burger, fries and a drink for $14. Didn't go on a Sunday BUT they have tons of tv's for your NFL team. They are technically a Detroit lions bar, so if you've got grit, this is your place. Family friendly and convenient location in liberty station which used to be the old Navy boot camp back in the day. Maria is attentive and funny. She's the best. Would recommend for anyone visiting.

This place is stacked with TVs so perfect for football games too. We came on a Saturday and it was a tad busy so should there be games definitely come early. We shared their 50/50 burger. Fries were great and the burger was solid. They have numerous beers on tap. I like ciders and they had some of those too. The real winner looks like their brunch. 1 dollar mimosas with a purchase of an entree. Special shout out to Ryan who was doing double duty by both bartending and serving. He was super attentive to each table and wanted to ensure everyone was having a good time. It's right by a parking lot which is helpful. All in all a solid restaurant/bar to watch the game. Their patio is also dog friendly.

I especially loved all the old-school photos on the walls it added so much character and nostalgia. The food was okay overall. The wings were good, and the fish & chips were decent, but my daughter loved them! The Cobb salad and chili were both just okay. The Fruity Pebbles shake and cinnamon toast crunch shake was REALLY good! Overall, I'd come back for the vibe and experience more than the food. They also have an arcade, which makes it even more fun, especially if you're bringing the kids. Definitely a cute, nostalgic spot to check out!

We were seated quickly which was a wonderful thing considering we had 3 kids with us. Our server was Frenchie and she was great. Our food was surprisingly hot. Our first notice to the oddness of the night was the balloon guy. Throughout the night we noticed the servers would form groups of 5 plus to sing birthday songs for the birthday kids. When it came to our turn, we had only 2 servers show up to sing for us. Frenchie even yelled out for help with no one coming to help out with making this evening special for us. One guy came by but quickly made a left to go into another area. Our little guy didn't notice because Frenchie made him feel special. As we sat there questioning what just happened, we noticed that 4 tables down someone was getting sung to. Guess how many were there singing? A minimum of 5 servers. We also noticed that we were not offered the birthday hats that that same party received. We asked to speak with a manager regarding what just happened. Ricky made excuses for what we observed and how we felt regarding what happened. My wife got upset at him minimizing our experience. When he noticed her tone change, he changed accordingly. He recommended we speak with the GM. We paid $200 for our meal and nowhere in that amount did we ask that we be looked over and go unnoticed. From where we sat, I was able to see the majority of the area. I don't know if there is a moral to this story or a silver lining but this experience ruined our evening and a little boy's 7th birthday. Im not saying to not eat here but i am saying that if you are a person of color, keep your eyes open to how you're being treated.
