Inside is cute and charming, we were seated at a spacious booth by the window and it was light and airy inside. Our waitress was prompt with the drink order and brought us both breakfast and lunch menus just in case. I saw several items I wanted to try - like a breakfast sandwich, omelette, lunch sandwiches, salads, and their daily special which was country fried steak. YUM. Their Blue Plate Specials for the week was loaded with savories that sounded good: country-fried steak, homemade lasagna, homemade meatloaf, etc. etc. You get it. My father-in-law would love it. My friend ordered the club salad with fries and loved it and I ordered the egg salad with potato salad as my side. Very good egg salad and the potato salad was delicious. I saw several things I'd love to come back and try and their prices are fair and selection is good. This isn't fine dining but it was good. And this is a cute little place in the Farmer's Market area. Service was good but not great, and it was a nice place to add to bring friends and family when in town who don't want to spend a ton and want a good meal.

Anytime you have to have a microwave IN THE SITTING AREA to warm your food that JUST came out of the kitchen , that's a red flag, My order was simple--toast no butter. There are NO VEGAN OPTIONS on the menu, so I made do. What I received was toast slathered in butter. Did I eat? No. Am I still hungry? Yes. I had a lemon slice off the edge of my mom's water as my meal. In fairness to our waitress, we were a LARGE group of 14. To compile various meals of that magnitude is not easy. Too many items, however came out incomplete, wrong, cold, and tasteless. The grits--were like white, muddy water. And we had MORE than one order of them. How can you make grits taste like, well NOTHING!? They were tasteless and cold--and even the cheese on the grits did not improve the taste. The side of ham never actually appeared with the rest of the meal. Once my husband ate ALL of his meal, the ham finally arrived. The burger was good though, so in fairness, I should mention the good if I am going to talk about the bad. This will be our last visit. We have been coming here for YEARS, but the lack of quality of food and arrival time of our food to the table is not worth the money we paid. We will not return.

The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If they sold just that flavorful chicken skin, I would buy a whole bucket of it. So good. The Shrimp and Grits are...... All I can say about the Shrimp and Grits is to go to Sweet Jam and order a bowl. It is so creamy, the grits are cooked perfectly and the shrimp.... Oh the shrimp. It is now 2:45PM over an hour later and we are still waiting with no updates from staff. I completely understand that lunch rushes happen, but communication is basic customer service. If the kitchen is running this far behind, customers deserve to be told upfront so they can make an informed decision. I was waiting in the car with my toddler, who fell asleep around 1:30 PM while we were still waiting. Sitting in a parking lot for over an hour with no communication is unacceptable. If you value your time, I would not recommend ordering to-go from here. Respect for customers' time clearly isn't a priority.
