We stayed at the Inter-Continental (The Clement) for the week. It was our 2nd time vacationing there. The C restaurant & bar has an amazing breakfast and happy hour (we didn't get a chance to try lunch/dinner) I ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was absolutely delicious! The hollandaise sauce was spot-on! My husband chose the smoked salmon, bagel platter. It was amazing! If you're a champagne fan, you can't pass up the champagne flight. Such an awesome treat! The main staff that we were fortunate enough to interact w/ was Luis & (forgive my poor memory, I can't remember his name, AKA "Ocean's Daddy" ) Both gentleman were, attentive and very well versed on the cocktails & the menu. Excellent breakfast with a view! We had a wonderful hotel breakfast with beautiful views of Monterey Bay. Doug enjoyed his king salmon with a veggie-packed omelet, and I had the Castroville artichoke omelet with added onions -- both were delicious. Came here for breakfast as we were staying at the Intercontinental Clement. Usually I'm on the fence about hotel restaurants, as they usually are for convenience rather than quality. This restaurant however was lovely. Views are immaculate as you are perched up right against the water. Food was tasty and the prices are pretty good. We order the standard eggs breakfast and a stack of pancakes. It was delicious and the service was also very attentive. At one point we had three different waiters checking in on us. Would recommend this place if you are looking for a great view and a good breakfast. My one and only small gripe was the live music. It was nice and his voice was great. It was just a tad loud for me. Anyhow, recommend to give this place a try if you are on cannery row early in the morning. read more

We had 2 wonderful meals at the C restaurant... we knew we were eating brunch there on Christmas Day but we did not intend to have dinner their the night before, but when the power went out in Carmel we came back to the hotel. My husband had the rib eye which was cooked perfectly but what he loved was their green beans!!! The Caeser salad was yummy and we enjoyed the calamari! The next morning we had brunch (this was our second time having brunch) I loved my avocado toast!!! It is pricey but not unexpected! read more

We were constantly being skipped over by staff, took 25 minutes to have our order taken. We flagged down a server, and he said he will get someone to help us, in which no one came and still had to wait longer. Once we finally ordered, it was okay. The food wasn't over the top for how much we paid. The milk and honey toast was probably the best dish out of all the ones we ordered.The taxes and fees on the receipt are ridiculous though, as an extra charge for a non alcoholic drink?? Came here for dinner and breakfast. Food, service, and ambience were excellent. Very kid friendly. Toddler was provided with crayons and a kid's menu. For dinner we ordered the Ceviche, Chef special beet and burrata salad, Prawn & Dungeness Crab Pappardelle, and the sea bass. I do want to give a shout out to Devin. Devin provided excellent service for our dinner that night. Ceviche and salad was a nice and refreshing appetizer and the toddler loved the tortilla chips. Pappardelle was really good. Was afraid it would be overly creamy but the addition of capers in the sauce helped to offset the creaminess. The pasta was perfectly cooked and not too soft. The sea bass was seared perfectly and still moist on the inside. It was paired with a creamy cubed squash that was fulfilling but not overwhelming heavy. For breakfast we ordered the Castroville omelette, chilaquiles, and the toddler got the scrambled eggs and bacon from the kids menu. Omelette was ok and I would probably ordered something else next time but chilaquiles were really good. I usually don't care for mole but they did a good job with the mole sauce. We spent the day at the aquarium and we were looking for a spot to have a low-key celebration dinner on my husband's birthday trip. This spot did not disappoint. We enjoyed the ocean views and watching the wildlife play. The food was delicious, service was attentive and kind and as I mentioned previously, the scenery and ambiance were great. Sitting at the bar at the end of a days long conference at the Clements. Quiet night it seemed until the place (unexpected to staff) when a large group arrived. Bar staff was pleasant and engaging prior to large and continued to engage while serving them. I was amazed at how well they adapted while keeping focused on those not in the large group! What a gem! This area was the very spot we wanted to stop at during our drive back home to L.A. from San Francisco. The only item on our list was oysters. The other requirement was an outdoor area since we had a dog with us. This place was at the very top of the list. I called and spoke to I believe Joe, who was super nice and assured me they welcome pets. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who already knew we happened to be the party that needed a table outside. They sat us next to a heater. It was freezing out there. I thought we would be able to have a big meal, but we decided to share some things instead. We started off with a half dozen oysters. My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the hotel from 3/11-3/15/2024 and dined with the C restaurant a total of 3 times (once for dinner, twice for breakfast). While all experiences were enjoyable, our 1st dinner with them blew our minds. Speaking of dinner on 3/13/2024 - We were immediately greeted and welcomed by Emily (the hostess, for literally every visit we had) who was so friendly and warm. She walked us to our table, which always had a spectacular view (thanks again Emily!) and we were immediately greeted by our servers, Socrates and Carlos. Both Socrates and Carlos were personable and were so helpful in helping us choose wine and desserts when we had a hard time choosing. Socrates was very wonderful and checked up on us several times, to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and our meal and Carlos was really great about making sure we always had enough water and wine in our glasses. We cannot say enough great things about Emily, Socrates and Carlos and hope to see them again next time we're visiting Monterey/the C restaurant + bar. read more

I reserved this place for Mother's Day. No one told me, nor was it on their website it was a special buffet that day until we arrived, which was horrible because I would not have booked it knowing it was $100/pp (food only) and I'd be paying for 5 people (plus 5 alcoholic drinks). The bill was stupid high for a Buffett lunch with poor service. While the food and Buffett presentation was pretty good; drinks were horribly strong. We order 5 different drinks and not even one was really drinkable. In hindsight, I should have sent them back. Ambiance was nice, liked the live music, loved my dog could join the fam and it was a really relaxing lunch. Unfortunately, the bill came out to almost $800 which is ridiculous for such an average Buffett and because I was not told it'd be a Buffett. I did very much appreciate that you can make reservations on Mother's Day here because most restaurants don't around here and being a tourist destination, you can imagine the wait. Great spot for breakfast! I was staying at the Intercontinental Clement Monterey where this restaurant is located. It occupies the rear-right corner of the ground floor of the hotel, with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the Monterey Bay. I made reservations as a precaution - but even at 0730, I found myself the first and only guest. Service was prompt - I was greeted right away, and Michael started me off on coffee (although I had already started my morning with caffeine since the hotel rooms have Nespresso machines in each of them). I like how Michael discreetly noticed the suspicious stain that was in the empty coffee mug on my table as I was getting seated - I noticed it subconsciously, but didn't say anything as I was trying to decide between buttermilk pancakes or the Clement Benedict (I peeked on here and saw mouthwatering photos of both). Michael simply stated as he started to fill the mug "I believe this might be decaf, let me go get you the other one" - as he grabbed the mug and the cafe and took it back to the bar with him. I opted for the Clement Benedict - two poached eggs, smoked salmon, and spinach on an English Muffin. Tomato hollandaise served with Yukon Gold Potatoes (description straight from the menu). The poached eggs were perfect - with just the right ratio of smoked salmon and spinach. I like to poke into the poached egg, sip a bit of the yolk before allowing it to drench the muffin. Every bite was great. The potatoes had just the right level of consistency - slightly crispy on the outside, smooth on the inside. Flor was my server and service was wonderful throughout breakfast, as she and Michael checked up on me every now and then, as well as kept my coffee mug filled as needed. For the time being, the restaurant is open for a few hours daily for breakfast, and a few hours for dinner Wed - Sunday (closed Monday & Tuesday). Not a big deal since there are quite a few wonderful restaurants in the area (avoid Chart House on the opposite end of Cannery Row though - see my review of their pathetic service experience). Great restaurant, complements this wonderful hotel. Debating whether to eat here or somewhere else for breakfast before I leave Monterey tomorrow. read more

Really disappointed in bill. We ordered 2 drinks for breakfast and split a breakfast burrito. We were charged TWELVE DOLLARS for splitting! It's upsetting because for that price we would have ordered something else and boxed it to go! The split charge was NOT mentioned on the menu. I want to start by leaving a 5 star review for this establishment. On March 14 23 I decided to eat at The C Restaurant + Bar. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by Elbert (Spellcheck) who was extremely friendly and polite while remaining professional. We requested to sit outside by the fireplace and Elbert was able to make that happened without question. While relaxing at the fire place, we were met by Jasmine (Spellcheck) who was attentive taking our orders while also being very professional. The food and drinks we ordered were extremely tasty. The food and drinks also came out very fast which was nice. I attached photos of all the food and drinks ordered on the outing. The staff we encountered definitely need a raise for their professional demeanor while remaining friendly and very helpful. 10/10 would recommend. 5 Star ! read more

Incredible experience at the C restaurant! We had a reservation that we made on Open Table. We were immediately seated inside with a beautiful ocean view (as requested in a booking comment). I'm so happy they were able to seat us next to the beautiful sunset! The service was incredible! Servers made sure our every need was met! They also had recommendations of things to do in Monterey. They were very personable! We started with complementary rosemary bread and ordered the calamari appetizer which came with a side of chipotle sauce. We also ordered drinks. I loved the 'Pear-Fect Every Time' cocktail served in a martini glass! It wasn't too sweet or too strong. I enjoyed every sip of it! I also enjoyed eating the fresh pear slices in my drink afterwards. For our entrees we chose the 8 oz filet mignon and the pacific swordfish. Both were delicious! Our waters stayed full. We ordered oysters for an appetizer. They were fresh and delicious. Entrees: 2 Cesar salads, I don't know if I took a picture but the Cesar came with anchovies lol yuck but the salad was soooo fresh and so good. Still, everything was very filling. My mom and I were basically full after sharing the clam chowder, calamari, and complimentary bread for dinner. Highlights of the meals: the bread in the clam chowder (better than the clam chowder itself), calamari, salmon! The Ora King Salmon dish was very heavy on the butter (all the yellow bubbles are butter) and I found it to be overwhelming. The salmon itself was delicious though.
