We've been to Anthony's, next door, on many an occasion, but this was our first trip to The Cabana. It was great. You can't beat the location on a beautiful day, overlooking the marina and Cap Sante. We had mai tai's and they were yummy. We both had cheeseburgers which were great too. Fast and friendly service. Had fun watching some fellow diners play bocce ball too. This is the first restaurant I have eaten at in months, and I'm glad this was the place. I have successfully avoided eating out (beyond takeout) but was in Anacortes for the day and didn't have the option of getting takeout. The Cabana has decent food (not mind blowing but still good) and a great outdoor seating area. They were well spaced out and we felt safer with the disposable cups, cutlery, and dishes. The food is a little bit pricey for the quality, but location wise there isn't anything better for a casual option. The view is great, looking right over the marina. read more

Seriously need to convert from disposable plastic serve ware. I felt so guilty eating here after everything was plastic, it really affected my ability to enjoy the beautiful outside space. Please guys, change this so we can enjoy this space without hurting our planet! read more

Ok so this place isn't horrible but the food is kinda overpriced for the quality and my bloody Mary was very mediocre. The outside is really nice, clean, and has an overall good atmosphere. Our server was welcoming and attentive. The part that really brought this place down was all of the single use plastic. Plastic water cups, plastic utensils, plastic ramekins. Not only is it super unsustainable but If I'm sitting down in a restaurant I don't want to use plastic forks to eat my meal. It cheapens the restaurant. read more

The location of this place is just outstanding. Great view of the marina and they even have a boccie ball pit. You can just relax, sip an adult beverage and enjoy some pretty good food to boot. I had the Cod and chips with a side of claim chowder, while the wife had the Baked Cod in a white wine-cream sauce. Both dishes were great. I really would have loved to have this in a taco with cabbage and a spicy sauce, but alas, they have a pretty limited menu that does not include the fried fish in a tack. The cod in my dish was panko coated and cooked perfectly. I much prefer that to the heavier batter coated version; it was just delicious and made me wish that I had ordered the extra piece. The Cod in cream sauce was amazing as well. The sauce was not overly rich and did not take over the dish, but was a nice accompanying component. The red onion added a bit of edge to the dish that really helped cut through the richness of the sauce and fish. The chowder was good, but not anything particularly special. If we find ourselves in Anacortes again, we will make a return visit for sure. read more

Super cute place and the patio and bocce ball lanes are awesome! We went there for lunch yesterday and were super impressed, totally fun and casual place with great food. We tried the fish and chips, fish tacos and the waffle chips with dip, delicious!!! They have really decent prices (for being affiliated with Anthony's) and they even offer cocktails. I can imagine this being a super awesome place to hang out and have dinner and drinks too. The place is right at the marina, views are awesome. read more

Arrived by boat and came in for an early dinner. Food was ok, nothing to rave about, but they had two busgirls who we're racing around giggling making a racket, and playing a game throwing pens into a plastic bucket on the bar. We mentioned it to the Manager who seemed put out that we said something. No need to go back. read more

Came here for lunch on a Sunday and enjoyed the pleasant ambience on the Adirondack chairs by the bocce court. Weather was perfect, and food was delicious. I had the pan fried oysters and thought they were the right combination of briny and crispy. So good! The only downside was that service was a bit slow. read more

We had a perfect morning walking the beach in Anacortes and asked some locals where they would go for fish and chips. They suggested the Cabana. So after our perfect walk we had a perfect lunch. This is outside casual dining at it's best with a terrific view over the marina toward the Cascades. They have a great menu and selection of local craft beers and wines. My husband had the true cod in a panko crust with a side of ginger slaw and a Farm Strong pilsner. Judging by the lack of conversation he really enjoyed his meal. I got the Island Poke bowl wifh a glass of sauvignon blanc, and it was fantastic. They should call it the Ahi Poke Bowl of Goodness. It included a generous portion of ahi, rice and all kinds of delicious goodies like seaweed salad, edamame, pineapple salsa, avocado and more than enough ginger (I think most sushi places never give you enough ginger). Our server was quick and efficient. Our table was clean and socially distanced. All together a perfect end to our day in Anacortes. read more

The food and drinks are pretty standard. We came on a beautiful day, I felt like our server was a little pushy when it came to the appetizers and desserts... my biggest complaint is that they use plasticware. They are an established restaurant owned by the Anthony's chain... why do they use plastic utensils?!!! They are located off the water too. Shouldn't they be a little more empathetic to the ocean... the ocean that offers the beautiful view which draws their customers? Hopefully they change this. read more

They really do have good fish and chips here. Which is why I keep trying to go during their business hours. My friend went yesterday. But today, Thursday evening at 5pm, nice weather, sign on door says open daily at noon. Door locked. Checked the website. Says open daily at noon. There was no reason for them to be closed. I was outside all afternoon. It was lovely weather. Normal for the NW. Some clouds, a breeze, some hot sun, a couple tiny raindrops that did not damage the painting I was working on in any way. About 75% of the times I have tried to go to the Cabana in the last 3 months the doors have been locked during stated business hours. Luckily this time we had a backup plan and went to a restaurant that was actually open during business hours. So, give the Cabana a try. But be prepared that it will not be open. read more

The food needs to be BETTER. There's no getting around it. The last couple of times I've been, the food (mahi tacos (super fishy flavor) and this crab sandwhich concoction, too much mayo, not enough CRAB) has been sub par. Also, I had a Bloody Mary last month that just tasted like steak sauce...no alcohol to speak of, just a crap ton of Worcester. Mentioned this to bartender, no offer for a refund or a complimentary drink. I come here a lot, because the view and atmosphere is great. I will probably only order a wine or beer from here on out. Horrible service. We waited 15 minutes to even get menus. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned. Our server was very rude, her name is Elizabeth! She didn't even bring us our food that we waited 45 minutes for, didn't get us any of the sauces we asked for. The burgers were hard and dry and the fries were minimal. With paying $15 per burger you would think it would be somewhat tasty.. It was nasty. Best part of the meal was the view... That was it! I am super disappointed and we will never be back! read more

Atmosphere here gets the bonus points. Combination of beach and club all near the marina. Food and drinks well prepared though not creatively outstanding to earn 5-stars. Server was obviously new and needed some additional supervision but understand how these things go and no penalty there. read more

New favorite! This place is a must-go especially in the summer. I love the decor and atmosphere, almost like you're on a beach in a tropical place! The menu is sort of limited but obviously because Anthony's is right next door but these prices blow Anthony's out of the water. We have tried to eat here in two different occasions. Both were not good. View and the theory of the place is great....out side, beach front type feel. Great surroundings and in town. Now to the service. Both time we have been there we were not even able to order anything. Tons of what staff with no interest in helping you. They are rather standing around chatting with each other or hiding. Walked by our table with a smile....then just kept on going. I stopped one waitress and was told she couldn't help us but would get our server....who after 10 minutes never showed. Walked out for the second and last time. Real bummer. read more

I love the casual vibe as you watch the boats come in the harbor. The food is great as a mid range price point. The thing I can't stand is the amount of plastic they use. The whole meal and drink and everything was all plastic. Some used corn plastic which only takes about 100 years to decompose instead of 1000 like traditional plastic (the rest of the utensils and cups were this type). I really hope they make the small change of using real plates and cups, especially in such a beautiful and fragile ecosystem nearby. Anyways, I hope they make this simple change and encourage the food. read more

Great food and fairly fast for how busy it can get here, better than at the neighboring Anthony's IMO, but consistently mediocre service.. maybe training ground for Anthony's servers? Last night I asked if a grilled cheese was possible for my daughter (not on the menu but have had several times previously there), "we are way too busy to do that tonight", I'm fine with that as they were busy for sure but she threw in that "we shouldn't have been served that previously".. lame. read more

Potential yes. Reality.....Its a clone of Anthonys both with brief menu and wine list. This locations begs for tropical drinks, small plate tapas type dishes, a much needed improved wine list and an outdoor cooking grill with smoke and aromas to entice the guests. Instead all you really get is a view and more Anthonys. Come on people spice it up and make it popular but not being a clone. read more
