Went last night to see Pat Benatar and Rick Springfield. Which was awesome for this 80's kid. Me and my girl decided to check out The Cafe before the show. Seemed like a good place to chow. Menu varied of the standard American fare. This review is not about the food. Which was good. Try this place. HOWEVER, this is about the service we received. Which was deplorable. First, our waiter was very abrupt and not really engaging (keep that in mind). Took our drink orders, no problem. Came back for our order...that's when s**t got real. We ordered really easy menu items, fish and chips and salmon blt. Here we go...first, my girl asked for a side of ranch and the waiter actually rolled his eyes. No kidding. That was strike one. Usually, we brush this off as maybe he's having a bad night because it was concert night and it was busy. Oh, I'm sorry. Did I say busy?! Well, it wasn't when we got there! So, that excuse is out the window. As it started to get busy we noticed that he spent a bit of time with other tables. But, he would ignore ours. Case in point, I ordered a coffee and a glass of water. Easy right? Well, I finished the water and did the " slide- glass- to- end -of- table -to- signal- I- would -like- a- refill- please". Said waiter ignored me. BUT, he had all the time in the world for the tables behind and to the side of us. He even walked by with a carafe of water, looked at my glass and kept walking. But, he made sure the patrons behind us were watered. Oh, and my coffee? HA! No chance! Strike two. Strike three (you're out!)...by this time we were done. Done eating and done with this waiter. I actually felt discriminated against. I'm a Pacific islander and my girl is Caucasian /Mexican. Now I really don't think it was overt discrimination because our waiter was Asian (I think). But, one can't help but wonder when service is this bad. Being ignored and patronized tends to make you have bad thoughts. My girl is a former restaurant manager so she knows the business. Needless to say by this time she is really ticked off (that's being politically correct). So, we get up to leave. Not only does our waiter not give us a check. He calls out from across another table if we're ready for the check. He goes and prints it up and just sticks the check in my hand! That's it! No thanks for coming in or have a good night...N.O.T.H.I.N.G.!!! My girl flags down the supervisor. We didn't get her name but she was really understanding and sympathetic. She comped our meal after we explained our night. We are really hard working, easy going types and great tippers. So you really have to f**k up for us to get really riled. Oh, tip? No he didn't get one. Seriously? So, if you come here. Enjoy the food. Just stay out of Nelson from Escondido's section. read more

Don't order a salad from here. Mixed greens on my Chinese chicken salad means iceberg lettuce. Wings were cold. Go with the burger and fries if you have to eat here. We ended up here because the oyster bar was closed. read more

Don't know why this place's average is only 3 stars. Food was phenomenal and service was better than decent. Only problem we had was when we went to check out, we tried to charge to our room--we came from the gym and didn't have "ID", just our room key. You MUST have ID anywhere in this resort to charge to your room---sometimes showing it over and over at the same place (pool bar). We found a photo of my drivers license on my phone, but that would not do--had to have the actual license. So I stayed "hostage" whilst my hubby went up to the room to retrieve an ID. If the service or food sucked, this would be enough to bring my rating down, but it was pretty exceptional in every other way. The manager even came out and said they actually view the video surveillance to make sure they are checking ID's. Silly. Once again--food? INCREDIBLE. read more

Our server was great. We waited for about an hour before they finally brought what we ordered. In the meantime,bout very nice server was super apologetic for the time we waited (over an hour) to get our breakfast. He did bring us a couple of complimentary muffins because of the inconvenience. Me: California omlette. Feta, spinach, tomatoes, avocado. Exactly what I ordered and expected. Beware if you order subs or extras it automatically becomes a build your own. He: make your own bacon onion and cheddar omlette. Exactly what he expected when it finally got there. No matter what it was not the servers (Omar) fault that the kitchen was backed up. He empathized and brought us the tasty muffins! Banana nut was a fabulous favorite... My interest is piqued enough to give it a try again, was not turned off enough to stay away. read more

We came for breakfast 2 days in a row during our stay and we were able to get a big table for our group of 11 people. The breakfast was delicious. I got avocado toast and fruit platter to share and both were wonderful. Others in our party got eggs Benedict and other items and all said they've were great. The service was excellent as well. We will back on our next trip. read more

We have eaten here before and the food is ok. The bigger problem is the service, which has been an issue every time we have been there. Their policy is to seat three parties of Diamond members for every one party of us normal people. And there is only one hostess. And to make matters worse, when she seats the Diamond members, she gets them drinks, so for every seating, she is literally gone for a minimum of 5 minutes. So figure at least 15 minutes between each seating of us average Joe's, and that's with the cafe not busy. Today, after almost 30 minutes in line, with empty tables all around, we gave up and left. Unfortunately, the breakfast options at the hotel are limited. read more

I do like the selection at this place, good place to grab a bite if you don't want to go the buffet or eat at the food court. My favorite is the clam chowder and cesar salad. Sandwiches and Breakfast are good too. Try to come before the crowd or you won't be seated. read more

We ate at The Cafe last night. It was super busy because of the concert, there was a line to actually get into the Cafe. But you could tell from the window that everyone in there was working as fast and as hard as they possibly could! The decorations are great. The walls and everything are great, the place was extremely clean. Vicki, our hostess, was super nice and always smiling, even though the demands of a line would put distress on everyone! She was great! I had the patty melt, well done. It was delicious! In fact, first I ordered a cup of soup (after another Yelper said the bowl was huge), and it was delicious! I was happy to find that my root beer was not flat (you never know when you go into a restaurant). I had the lemon fries, they were yummy also. My mom and my friend both had cheese quesadillas, which came with a plethora of things to add onto. Our waiter, Justin, was absolutely phenomenal! Although he had a lot of tables to attend to, our drinks were never empty, he had a smile on his face, he always came to check on us, and was very quick. The cafe is comfort food, but the selection is huge! I have eaten at Cafe's inside Casinos before, and they have not been very good! This was delicious! I love coming here on Friday's around 12-1pm for lunch. Because I only have 1 hr I know I'll be served in a timely matter even in there busy time. The staff here is great. And there pozole is tastes amazing. Not has good as my moms but pretty close. read more

*Night Review I only went to The Cafe twice but this recent visit was great! The girl working there was very nice and friendly. Also the prices are relatively cheap for a casino. Tall iced coffees ~ 3.00 and grande around 3.50. I have not tried the food yet but it looks tasty especially the desserts. read more

It's a casino restaurant... A bit over priced, with tons of variety. You can get American food, or Asian food! Breakfast is served all day and most menu items are served until midnight. Very creative and delicious fried... With parmesan. Service is fast, and everyone is very friendly. read more

The worst customer service ever!! We waited 15 mins in the line to be seated and the restaurant was empty! We finally got seated and then we waited 10 mins for a waitress to get our order! The first waitress came in she said that she cannot take our order but she came back saying that she can only take our drinks order After 10 mins another waitress passed by and we asked if she can take our order and she said that she wont take it and she doesn't know which waitress will After 5 mins the cashier passed by and we told him that if he can find out which waitress is responsible for our table and he said that they are all busy but there was only 2 tables at the entire restaurant Finally after a while a waitress came in and took our food order I ordered waffles and the waffles were sooo lemony and hard We ordered coffee and came in 20 mins later I don't recommend this restaurant at alll Very bad service and food read more

A last minute choice before a concert in the casino...one word.....BOMB!!!....I ordered the open face steak sandwich and it was cooked to perfection with Jalapeño potato salad on the side.....service excellent and prompt!....down side Pepsi products to drink....yuk!.....I wouldn't mind the 2.5 hour drive again just for this place! read more

Excellent experience here. Service was A-Plus! I had the eggs benedict with hash browns eggs were cooked perfectly. I love the hollandaise sauce. My friend had the steak and eggs and raved about his steak. He also got the fresh squeezed orange juice. He said it was the best orange juice he had ever had! The cafe was revamped into a sleeker space but too bad the staff and food weren't also revamped. The cafe wasn't busy so we didn't have to wait too long to be seated. Our waitress came by and took our drink & food order at the same time. Over 45 mins later, still no food but the surrounding tables were getting their meals way ahead of us. When our food began to arrive 3 of the 6 plates were the incorrect items. I brought the issues up with our waitress and she said "no" that's what you ordered. Well, she took back the plates and 20 mins later the food arrived correctly. She also had the nerve to blame the orders on the kitchen staff saying they weren't doing their jobs. Once we got the bill i noticed that she entered the wrong items. Im sorry but she should have just admitted the SNAFU and moved on. Save your money and go eat at the buffet or fiore, not the cafe. Don't order the salmon BLT. I took my mom to DIVE for a fun pool experience. I was excited to take her out, yet I'm saddened by the "not tasty" sandwich we tried at the Cafe. I ordered the Salmon BLT and it literally had NO FLAVOR. Even with the sandwich spread on the side, the ciabatta bread should have been toasted. The salmon had no flavor. They could have brushed a lemon garlic sauce or something to spice it up. Also, their mixed house salad was a joke. It looked like they had a salad bag of cheap iceberg lettuce and sliced up a couple tomatoes. On top of this, I am trying to contact them through their website to tell them how horrible the food was, but its hard just to be able to contact them. I would have asked for the manager while we were there, but I didn't want to bring a negative experience to my mom and my day out. However, the conversation about the bland sandwich came up for the rest of the day. :( I will give them a call when I have time. Common Harrahs, you make tons of money through gambling, I think you can add some fresh greens like other restaurants and take the time to bring up the taste factor. Also, you have a high profile name and you own tons of hotels in Vegas. Keep your standards up like what you have at some of your other chains. What a disappointment. Haven't been this disappointed in awhile. Won't go back to this cafe maybe ever. Save your money and go to the buffet or Pinks or Ritas Cantina instead. Bummed...severely bummed. The food was mediocre at best. Ordered a philly cheese steak and got some steakum cooked with some cheese on top and a few onions and bell peppers. Really this is a cheese steak. Keep in mind the steakum wasn't even cut up or shredded and cheese was just laid on top to melt. Sandwich resembled a flat cheese burger. Don't recommend this place at all. The food and service were good. The problem is that if you are not 3 diamonds, you are treated like shit. We got in line at about 8:30 today. It took over 40 minutes to seat us with only 5 people in front of us. It's ok if they are busy but I counted 15 empty tables. The hostess would seat guests and take their drink order. Why? Why can't the server take the drink order so that the hostess can continue to seat guests. The hostess said it was one diamond player and then one regular player. At some Point there were 2 hostesses and each one would only take a diamond player. I understand that I'm not a diamond player as I am a teacher but to let 5 diamond players seated to every regular player is just gross. I guess if you're not a diamond player, you're not valuable to the cafe. Tomorrow I might just buy a smoothie and go home. FYI, the hostess today, December 18th was so dismissive. Every single time even as a diamond customer just or not you stand there a good 10 minutes no acknowledgement that your even standing there . The time before last male sever was super rude and maybe because we were a party of 10 and the automatic tip maybe he felt he didn't have to work so hard . I went to ask for a refill he was like ya you don't have to tell me I know . Then got attitude when I asked for the English muffin they forgot . I've been to Harrahs about 8 times at least and for days at a time and never have I gotten good customer service . Unfortunately, the new menu is not an improvement. Removed most of the best dishes/items. I tried a few new dishes, not impressed. Higher prices, but not higher quality food - smaller selection and smaller portions. Burger is still good! =) read more

My favorite breakfast hangout. Great service. Fantastic pancakes. They come hot and fluffy. With tasty coffee, unreal for a diner.

Food is still great at the cafe but servers still never come back around for drink refills. One thing would like to see changed is a dedicated line for Seven Stars as the line is real long in the mornings and so many diamond members makes the wait long especially if you have little kids. read more

Went for a ride on my motorcycle to this casino. Came to get a bite to eat for lunch. I was sat down quickly. There wasn't much to choose from. The menu is 1 page. So i got a burger well done and fries. the fries came cold and the burger was medium well and greasy as hell. Seems like the fries where cooked earlier. Came here for a late dinner and had the capellini pesto and it was delicious. The portions were medium size, but just right. We were seated quickly and the server was attentive. For three people and 3 drinks it was about $50, so not bad for quality meal out of a "cafe" Want to try their breakfast next. read more

Came here last weekend, late night after a wedding we attended, Food was delicious ! However our waitress was not attentive at all and decided to add a 1 in front of the $5 tip I gave her (even after we were ignored most of the meal) it's not about the extra $10 she stole from me just want to warn others that you can't even leave a decent tip on a $30 bill without shady things happening. Called the hotel to be transferred to the cafe manager, only for it to ring endlessly with no response. Who knows how many other customers she's done this to! So disappointed. My husband and I discovered the cafe a little over a year ago, and LOVED the burger and side salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing- reminded us of something we would get at a gastropub. We went last night excited to experience the same quality food, and were extremely disappointed! The menu has changed. They still offer a burger but no where near what we have had in the past. The burger was dry, bun was terrible!! And they no longer have the salad dressing. It's also not kid friendly. Sad to say we are now having to search for someplace else to eat. I had late night take out to eat at work the second day. It made it direct from the fridge to trash can. Chicken salad had no flavor and the chicken white meat was crude large pieces. I went to Harrahs cafe the other night. They sent me $60 food offer so I thought well I better use it. Was happy that they split it in $30 increments. Was seated with server Estella. She was very attentive and nice. I ordered a club sandwich and asked for a side dinner salad. I was told they didn't have a dinner salad but that I could order one of their main salads. Estella offered the BLT wedge salad. Very tasty salad. I just wish the ranch had better flavor but just a small issue. Estella then brought me this huge club sandwich. I am a club sandwich enthusiast and was very happy with the portion. Overall great experience. I enjoyed the sandwich and used the remaining $30 coupon for two more clubs to take home. Little advice is that you have to make sure you to order to go after 11pm and they charge $4 convenience fee. No biggie. The family enjoyed the sandwiches when I brought them home.
