What a huge disappointment! I've heard amazing things about Island Thyme and have been looking forward to trying it. My first visit was a HUGE disappointment. At 2:00 on a weekend they were already out of ingredients! They were out of ginger which eliminated a few of their juices/shots. I ordered a bowl option and indicated NO jalapeños because I can't eat them. It arrived as a wrap, which isn't a huge deal, except the waitress acted as if it was my fault and had a terrible attitude. Second try...the bowl arrives and I notice it's missing the avocado, so I ask for it on the side and receive another attitude. I continue to eat and notice the rainbow carrots are missing. This time I decide to suck it up because I can't possibly handle a third try. After the next bite my mouth went on fire because OF COURSE they included jalapeños! This time I asked the waitress to just take it back. I attempted to order an açaí bowl to cool down my burning mouth and stomach and guess what??? They were out of 2 of the ingredients I wanted! At that point I had it and left there an extremely unsatisfied customer. The waitress never sincerely apologized. I truly don't blame the restaurant - they need to hire more attentive staff. One of the only Vegetarian/Vegan friendly places in Long Beach! Everything is healthy so no need to feel bad about yourself... so many options: juices, kombucha, veggie wraps, veggie burgers, vegetable sides, acai bowls, matcha bowls, and blue magic bowls. Staff is really nice and accommodating. Perfect place for a date. You can sit outside in the sun. The aesthetics are beautiful and Brooklyn-esque! Check out the drift wood table or the succulents strategically placed throughout the restaurant. Or grab a coffee on your way to walk the boardwalk. I hope they lower the prices a little. Tried this place for the first time today and it was INCREDIBLE. Went above and beyond my expectations and will definitely be one of my new go-to places to eat. I to the black bean burger and it was fantastic! The side of potatoes were perfect and you could taste how fresh and high quality all of the ingredients are! You want to eat here!! Atmosphere is incredibly inviting and the food is AMAZING. So good to have a healthy eating spot nearby. Mint smoothie and avo toast were the perfect combo while I sat on the couch and worked on my computer. Will be back DAILY!!! read more

When I walked into Island Thyme last night, I didn't think I'd be staying. I'm generally not a "healthy" eater and I certainly wasn't looking to change that last night. Enter Sierra. While looking at the menu, I listened as Sierra answered questions about the various dishes. Everything she described sounded really delicious, and she spoke with a tremendous amount of enthusiasm. Amazing new addition to the West End of Long Beach! The West End needed an establishment with healthy, quick, to-go options such as açaí bowls, protein smoothies, egg sandwiches and protein wraps. I love everything about this place!The space itself has a great vibe. The service is friendly, and fast, considering everything is made to order and very very fresh. The food is fantastic! It's great to go to a local eatery run by people who live in town, and eat food that you feel good about eating! My favorite is the veggie wrap! It is absolutely delicious and brimming with nutrition! And they are ocean friendly! This will definitely be my go to spot when I want to treat myself to a meal out with friends and family, or just grab and go take out. And to whoever created the homemade peach ketchup...if there was a Nobel food prize, it would go to this genius! I can't wait to go back! read more

Very surprised to see such raving reviews. Was very happy to see this place open since LB could really use a truly 'healthy' whole food option, and/or any new good restaurant! After leaving park slope we realize the massive difference in quality here on Long Island, but we were really disappointed. I'm usually not one to yelp these things but I feel it's important since there's a lot of potential here but a lot of things were not well executed. Very friendly staff. Beautiful decor.. but Iced coffee is $3.50 for a small and was extremely watered down, as was the regular hot coffee and if you're charging almost $4 it should be good, just as good as down the block at blacksmith. It was like tea :/ For food I ordered a bean burger and my husband ordered the mahi wrap. My burger tasted okay nothing too delicious about it and for $12 it really felt small like an appetizer especially with no bun or wrap. I still felt hungry and if you're spending $12 or $40 for the two of us -two coffees and lunch- it's nice to not feel that way. My husband ordered a mahi wrap which again was just very small Portion for the $14, did not fill him up and he was expecting potatoes (which I got and were good) but received a small amount of lettuce which really is not even considered a side salad. Overall we won't be back and it's unfortunate since we were looking forward to a new establishment like this. read more
