I wanted to take the time to write this review because we were so impressed by the service, food and ambiance. I go out a lot and eat at good restaurants, but I have to say this one is on my top list. From the moment I spoke to Britney (event coordinator), I knew it was going to be a smooth ride because she was super helpful. Everything was organized and taken care of when I got to my dinner. Ambience nice, service great. A few high notes- the bread was great, beet salad was exquisite. The "in fashion" ( their version of old fashioned) was prob the best old fashioned I've ever had. Kudos to the bartender. For the main courses...they were ok. Filet, asparagus, and au gratin potatoes- all acceptable. BUT if I'm paying that much $$$$, I expect a bit more. I don't give many 5-star reviews, but... I would give this place 5 1/2 - 6 stars if I could! Cocktails and food are excellent, but it's the service that takes this place to the next level. Warmly greeted upon entering, several sincere 'Happy Anniversary' wishes as we were shown to our table, which was decorated with hearts and a Happy Anniversary card from the restaurant. Above and beyond. Incredibly attentive staff checked in on us frequently, wanting everything to be just right. When I asked directions to the restrooms, a server escorted me there! Wow, that's never happened to me!!! Dirty Martini and Blackberry Sidecar cocktails were great. Wedge salad so tasty, but the calamari really stood out, best I've ever had, so fresh and flavorful they don't bother with a dipping sauce, it doesn't need it! Then, a glass of red from their amazing wine list to go with our steak tenderloins and mini lobster tails, cooked perfectly, with a side of Sam's mashed potatoes. All yum. Lastly, a complimentary Happy Anniversary dessert with two glasses of sparkling white, the perfect finish. Finally!!! Burbank has a nice upscale restaurant besides Morton's (no offence, Morton's), which the city severely lacked for years considering the surrounding studios. The food is exceptionally delicious, and they have a great wine selection. The staff is courteous and the service is top notch! Just returned from my opening night meal at the new Capital Grille in Burbank. What a fantastic experience! The food was great. A steakhouse should do great steaks and they did (I had a ribeye and my wife had a filet... both excellent) but the starters and sides were standout!. We had the tuna tartar, the wrapped prosciutto, a wedge salad, asparagus and the steaks. Then shared a cheesecake for dessert. (Yes we took food home for later!) We loved everything we ate. Great cocktail and wine options too. And the vibe is classy modern classic steakhouse. I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurants but I was impressed with this one. The highlight of our night, though, was the staff. We eat at a lot of great places and tonight we encountered a team that was earnest, eager to serve, comfortable, personable and professional. The people can make or break a restaurant, and this team exceeded all expectations. This may have been the very best Restaurant experience I have ever had, not just because of EVERY SINGLE DISH WE HAD EATEN WAS PHENOMENAL, but the SERVICE and the Hospitality of our server Jacob. When I had a request it was met with such welcoming response. I do not partake divulging in spirits the way most engage in, however because I enjoy the culture of wine pairings with food I requested tastes of the wines offered by the Capital Grille and that satisfied those cravings of curiosity in how the food would pair. Thank you so, SO much to the Management team, Patrick, Fernando and last but not least the fantastic Managing Partner Britney! Really made us feel CAPITAL! NO CAP! *ba dum tss!!* Moving on to a the next best part. THE FOOD! We started with the calamari, fried to perfection and the fact that I don't typically order calamari and I can enjoy it means SO MUCH! The Nueske Style bacon is to die for, prosciutto wrapped mozzarella is such a well balanced offering and it does everything right! We all shared our entrees, which without us even requesting it, they had sliced our steaks, served with tongs to grab as we please, a small gesture that most wouldn't notice but I DO! But the STEAKS! We had the Gorgonzola Crusted Dry aged bone in New York, with the Cabernet reduction and OH MY GOD what an EXPLOSION of flavor that I've never experienced before on the palette, there is an actual sensation that takes place, not sure if it's the Gorgonzola, or the aged flavor, or the wine reduction sauce that causes this but it's almost electrifying(best word to describe) The Porcini we also shared which was an uppercut of flavor and that red pepper really sneaks up on you in the best way to announce its presence! And last but not least this burger is THE BEST BURGER I HAVE HAD AT A RESTAURANT TO DATE! Bar none, no competition! Summarizing the sides we shared because I don't think I have enough room they were AMAZING, yes ALL OF THEM. The cocktails are fantastically balanced, the Doli is their signature cocktail featuring hand pressed and sliced DOLE pineapples, the in fashion was my favorite and tied with the Negroni bianco We were served a thank you platter for coming in featuring an in house made cheesecake that had a brûléed top and a Nila wafer crust and it's the best Cheesecake I've had ever. The espresso flourless chocolate cake is so gentle in flavor but with the raspberries on the plate, it really amplifies it tenfold! Once again thank you so much to the lovely staff, and culinary team putting their hearts in these dishes, you can sense the passion of the food they make in how it all tastes. I definitely will be bringing my best friends here and showing them all the parts that make this restaurant so unique compared to any other restaurant in this city. We were fortunate to be at the Friends & Family night at the Capital Grille Burbank, which officially opens on Sunday. We had a lovely night. The hospitality was outstanding. Everyone was warm and very welcoming. We truly felt like friends (even though we ended up there because we live close by and walked by one day to ask about a pre-opening event.) The bread basket has a great assortment. The onion bread and brown bread were unique and delicious with the salt-topped butter. Our two favorite dishes : The prosciutto wrapped mozzarella.. it's grilled and crispy and melty and so good with the crostini. The tartar with the avocado and mango has great flavor and was very fresh. Oh and save room for the brûléed cheesecake! The service was excellent. The team did not feel like an opening night. Ronnie and Keaton took good care of us, attending to our water constantly (guess we were thirsty!) and making sure we were happy with everything. The entire team went above and beyond. (And I can't remember the name of the guy from Belarus, but he was also very helpful.) While this would definitely be more of a special event type of restaurant for us, we can't wait to go back and try a burger and fries at lunch! Welcome to the neighborhood, Ashken and Team! We visited this place for the first time last night and it was amazing!! The restaurant was beautiful and the staff was so friendly and attentive. Fernando, who is a sommelier, paired a drink for me with each part of the meal and it was fantastic. My husband and I started with a prosciutto wrapped mozzarella and an ahi tuna tartar- mouth watering. I ordered the tenderloin with the butter lobster- they had so much flavor they were cooked perfectly! It's probably one of the best steaks I've ever had. My husband ordered a filet with a crab lump on top and the portion size was excellent! We also ordered brussels sprouts and mushrooms for the table and both were super flavorful. What a night to remember! I barely got home and immideately rushed to my computer to write this review. This was an incredible experience from start to finish. Truly a VIP night! We were greeted at the main entrance by the wonderful manager, Ashkhen, who was so pleasant and made us feel right at home. She took the time to ask if we were celebrating a special occasion or had any allergies - an early sign of the attentive service to come. Once inside, we were escorted to the VIP room, where we were offered complimentary drinks and took photos at the fun photo booth. Then we were seated at a beautiful table, allowing us to take in the elegance of this timeless restaurant. Great job in revamping the space! As we settled in, we were welcomed by our server (so sorry, the name escapes me at the moment, but I'll update this review once I remember). He was our guide on this food tour and did an amazing job. THANK YOU! The drinks were wonderful. I had their signature Doli, and my friends enjoyed their signature In Fashions. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, the two appetizers and three sides were all delicious, and the coconut creme pie along with the creme brulee were the perfect finishing touches to our exceptional meal. Thank you to the chefs and cooks who worked hard to deliver our wonderful meal! Ashkhen stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying everything, and her hospitality truly was the highlight of our night. She also checked back on us at the very end of our dinner and brought over gifts. What a delightful surprise! Another home run for the Capital Grille over the weekend! We had reservations for a party of seven, couple of us arrived a little early so we hit the bar for a few minutes until the remaining party members arrived and the table was ready. The restaurant graciously gave us one of smaller private rooms that had a few tables inside for larger parties, and it was a wonderful dining experience! My wife and I had been here before, but the rest of the party were first timers and they all loved it! We were assigned two staff members that were both wonderful with a great sense of humor. As usual, the food was impeccable, everybody raved about the steaks around the table. If you enjoy a solid steakhouse ambience with a touch of class, I don't think you will be disappointed at the Capital Grille, this is definitely a new regular place for us, thank you to the whole staff. BE CAREFUL!! First time here, the food was amazing. However, the manger loudly scolded the host in front of us, for seating us in the main room before storming off. She said, "he was supposed to sit us at the bar." (Since we didn't make a reservation.) The restaurant was new and it was spur of the moment to stop in, for an early dinner (no alcohol.) They had just opened for the evening, also. We would have left, if forced to sit in the (very loud) bar area. Second time there, we made sure to make a reservation to avoid getting embarrassed by management. But one person in our party got food poisoning, shortly after leaving! I will not be returning. I expected better from a nice place, like this. Maybe that's why their LA locations seem to struggle? Besides that one manager, most of the staff was very nice. We think the salad or steak is what caused the severe illness, that evening. Hope they're able to make some improvements, soon! read more

OK, so today was my birthday and we decided to celebrate at the newly opened Capital Grill. I am so glad that we did. It is in Burbank in the old Claim Jumper restaurant space next to Warner Bros. Studios. Everything was on point. The restaurant is beautifully decorated; the staff is very friendly and attentive. Everyone from the moment we arrived was wonderful. From the parking valet to the host, to the bartenders and the managers (Ashkhen, Britney) and the wait staff (Enya, Lance). Every member of the staff wished me a happy birthday. And the Sales manager came over and was so kind and upgraded my party of seven to a private room. Now to the food and drinks, initially my cousin and I had a seat at the bar and had a couple of cocktails and an appetizer while we waited for the rest of our party. The house drink, The Doli, which is a pineapple infused martini, is delicious. My cousin had a lovely Mojito mocktail and we shared onion dip with caviar, and house made potato chips. It is a must try for those who love caviar or are wanting to try it for the first time. I will go back again for those. Then, we had an array of soups, appetizers, and salads in the dining room. The Soups were amazing. Special mention of the French Onion Soup and the Lobster Bisque. We then had appetizers and main courses, and they bought us desserts with candles to sing happy birthday. I cannot even begin to explain the service, which is amazing. The staff was incredibly professional and hospitable. They made every member of my party feel seen and special. I have never had such attentive service in a restaurant. This restaurant is new, and I was amazed that there were not more people there, but it was a Monday evening. From now on when friends ask me for a good place to go for fine dining or for suggestions to take friends out, Capital Grill is going to be my go-to recommendation. Food was amazing... service was just ok. Our waiter was new-ish and a little overwhelmed. I was in restaurants for over 50 years.

I've been to plenty of chain steak houses but this was different. What really stood out was that this felt like an experience, not just a meal. We tried appetizers, signature drinks, and many of the entrees. Everything was truly outstanding. Their signature cosmo and the "Doli" are some of the best drinks out there. I had the scallop and lobster risotto which was amazing. They fly the seafood fresh in every day! Rob our waiter was so attentive, knowledgeable and gracious. Chef Laura (a female head chef, heck yeah!) even came to our table to close out the meal and thank us for dining. The interior is all old school Hollywood and beautifully done. A great, upscale experience. Excited to come back. They mentioned they want to build out more experiential nights with sommeliers and multi-course dinners. I'm not going to lie, I was a little disappointed. I love the Capital grille in Vegas, so thought we would give this location a try. I get it's a newer location and I do hope they improve. We got calamari, French onion soup, steak, lobster, potatoes, fries, Brussels sprouts with bacon, and corn and bacon. The calamari was not cooked well at all. I could still taste the breading of it and it should've been fried longer. The French onion soup was ok but I've had better at other steakhouses. For the steak, I got medium well and it was cooked medium. It was too bloody for me and I couldn't finish it. The lobster was good but they didn't have more than one type compared to other places. Brussel sprouts were 10/10. It was my favorite item we ordered. The potatoes were good but will probably not get it next time. The corn was average, nothing special. Our waiter was nice and helpful tho. It was more of a quiet night but they made the interior nice. I would give this another try maybe but we'll see. read more
