Decided to try the Capital Grille happy hour and was not disappointed! We were treated like royalty! We were seated at a nice booth and our server/bartender blew it outta the water with his outstanding service from start to finish! We enjoyed several glasses of wine, beet salad and shared the Petite filet sandwiches which were delicious! The manager (Gabbie) came over to check on us and thanked us for coming in which was icing on the cake! We look forward to coming back in to try different things and share our great experience with friends! They really knocked it out of the park today!!

Had a nice impromptu dinner at the bar the other night. Great bartender. Fun to listen to the conversations of the regulars Bernaise sauce was salty and the bottom the crab was burnt but steak was great. Wasn't worth bringing up.

Dry Aged NY Strip Steak Frites with Aji Verde

I visited The Capital Grille for lunch on a weekday after hearing a lot about it for years. It's located in the popping and popular Larimer Square that has plenty of shops and places to eat and drink. Upon walking in, it seemed clear that it was an upscale, fine dining establishment as expected. When you walk in, there is a dress code policy showcased right away. It did not seem like the dress code was enforced as there was a patron in a tank top at the bar and I walked in dressed a little more casually than business casual. It may just be because it was a weekday lunch time though. The food was pretty good. I honestly thought it was going to be a bit better considering the reputation and price point. It definitely will do the job for a business lunch if that is what you are visiting for. The steak frites were amazing. The salmon dish was a bit bland overall. I highly recommend the lobster bisque as the first course for the lunch special. It was great with plenty of lobster. Service was great and operated like a well-maintained machine as you would expect from a place with a reputation like The Capital Grille. I will be back to bring customers for business lunches.

Things that come to mind when I hear "Capital Grille"? Elegance. A perfectly cooked New York strip. A rich flourless chocolate espresso cake. Comfortable seating. Crisp tablecloths. Service you can count on. Sure, it's a franchise, but let's be honest, Darden is nailing it. And CG is hands down my favorite among their restaurants. I've been to CG for Magical Dining in Orlando a few times, but this was my first time going for lunch at a location outside of Florida. To my very pleasant surprise, they had a lunch deal where you choose a soup or salad and an entrée (and yes, shockingly, the NY strip is one of the options) for around $30. I had the garden salad and the strip, swapping fries for asparagus to feel less guilty about diving into the flourless chocolate espresso cake right after. I could have eaten 3 slices but kept it classy and shared one. Everything tasted exactly how it should at CG: delicious and elevated for the price point. They keep me coming back, and it never feels like a gamble.

100/10 recommend! Fabulous restaurant, the food was amazing but the service takes the cake. They really understand hospitality. I sat on the patio and the ambiance was wonderful with live music! I was sat immediately when I arrived, had a Caesar salad to start, the sea bass for entree and a crème brûlée for dessert and I would highly recommend every item! Sean was my server and he was so friendly, brought me a tasting flight to pair my wine with my meal. Gave recommendations on the menu and a cocktail pair for my dessert. Not only did Sean remember my name but so did all of the additional staff that came to stop by including the Manager Jahniece. You will not regret this stop!

I was searching for an excellent downtown steak for take out, and hit the jackpot. 18oz dry aged Bone IN new york Strip, cooked perfectly. Roasted Beet and Goat Cheese Salad with Crushed Pistachios and Citrus Vinaigrette to add. oh yes! and the wrapped salted butter accompanying the bread, I like your style. I'd really love a locker to store my tequila at the entryway. Someday.

This is the place for a special occasion -- or just an elegant dinner. It's cozy and comfortable with staff that went above and beyond to make this a very special dinner. Special shout-out thanks to our servers Michele and Jake And then there's the food! Oh my!!! Both of us had the Wedge Salad with Smoked Bacon salad. We're not talking bacon bits -- these were chunking of delicious bacon that enhanced the blue cheese and the freshest crispiest lettuce. Yum! Who waxes poetically about lettuce?!?! I do! Husband had the Kona-Crusted Dry Aged Bone-in-NY Strip Steak. It was perfectly cooked, medium rare. I had the Seared Sea Scallops with Maine Lobster and Asparagus Risotto. Each bite was a celebration of flavor. Husband said he had to have the side of Lobster Mac & Cheese -- and because it was his birthday -- we got it. It is delightfully rich and yummy. And yes, most of it came home with us because there was no room left in our stomachs! His 70th was special anyway -- but Capital Grille did a great job of putting it over the top. Thanks Michele and Jake -- and to the whole crew!

This place is our go-to for consistent food, service & atmosphere. We always sit & eat at the bar. The drinks are always great. The bartenders are very thoughtful when it comes to splitting appetizers & meals. I didn't know it was an option to get a half order of sides but our server let us know & it was the perfect amount. Same with the chef special's, we got the tenderloin with lobster tails & it was the perfect amount for splitting. I also had GF requests & they brought me a separate menu that had all the different items that could be made gluten free.

Great food, great service by Wade! The steaks and tuna tartare were excellent choices! The ambience was perfect.

Wife and I went to Capital Grille on Larimer St, for first time to celebrate our 58th anniversary. The experience was even better than I expected. The fine, young lady that was the hostess was very friendly and helpful as well as having a bright cheery attitude. She led us to our booth, and the table cloth was sprinkled with little red hearts, as a symbol of our anniversary. The food was exceptional. Wife had surf and turf which was a filet with a big lobster tail. i had the bone in ribeye, cooked perfectly and was quite juicy and tasty. We both had a cup of lobster bisque. Wonderful with chunks of lobster in it. We shared asparagus for vegetable. They gave us a nice dessert, and as we started to eat it a guy came to our booth with an electric guitar and serenaded us for a few minutes. This was the greatest anniversary dinner we have ever had. The server explained many items on the menu as well as a couple of items that were not on the menu like the lobster bisque. The place is pricey, but I would go back in a heartbeat for any other celebration. There are times when one should go ahead and spend the money, this certainly is one place that deserves every accolade it has ever received in our experience. The one niggle is that being mostly open, it can get noisy when the place is busy, otherwise the ambiance is calm and peaceful. The decor is dark woods with nice glass separators between the booths. I plan to go back when I can for other celebrations or to just have a night out for great food and service.

    Clam chowder
    Anthony W.

I've been to Capital Grille twice in Denver, once in Vegas. Each time the Grille has hit it out of the park. My second time in Denver, I opted for the lunch plate special: dry aged NY steak with your choice of clam chowder or salad. I have to say that steak was one of the most tender and tasty pieces of meat I've had. Only $30. I don't know how they do it. Typically, I think the steak alone would normally run you anywhere from $40-60+, depending on where you order it. I should point out this is a lunch only special, served during the weekdays. If you can get down there, run, don't walk, you'll be glad you did. Oh yes, almost forgot, the calamari is excellent. I hope they still have it the next time I visit Denver or Vegas.

Ask the Community - The Capital Grille

What is the parking situation? Anyone know how much they charge for valet?

    Is there valet parking?

Yes there is valet parking. It is directly out front of Capital Grille. Unless they have Larimer Street closed off, then it will be located on the southwest corner of 15th and Larimer.

    Is there outdoor dining?

They set up tables outside on the street. They have a tent. It is OK, but the dining experience inside is far superior.

What is the dress code? Are dress jeans acceptable?

Yes that's what I wore. I sat at the bar though

I'm looking to make reservations for Father's Day... would this restaurant be appropriate if we decide to take children?

I would say it depends on the age, and how well mannered your children are.

Shout to the team for having our table ready when we got there even though it was very busy that day. We started off with the Fall Salad and I think it was one of my favorite things we ordered. I had no idea beets can be that delicious! After that, everything else came out: roasted carrots, barramundi, and wagyu flank steak. They also put in an order or pommes frites (French fries) on accident and decided to give it to us on the house. Thanks! The roasted carrots were really good and sweet. You could tell they were quality carrots. The barramundi was another one of my favorites. I'm a fan of fish and they did an excellent job of cooking the barramundi with a great sauce(?) that tasted great with it. I found the wagyu steak flank overcooked and really salty which was disappointing given the price. The pommes frites were cooked well but also extremely salty. Overall, I would recommend Sunday Vinyl if you are trying to take someone to a place that is unique and don't mind paying a bit extra. It is a bit loud in there (we had to raise our voices a bit to hold a conversation) but it is also a vinyl place so you would expect them to show off their music.

And from that point on, from first taste, I knew my experience would be exceptional. The service was attentive without being overly attentive, and the chef's were so kind, answering every one of my weird questions about what they were preparing or ingredients that I noticed. I ordered the smoked burrata to start. The balance between the candied pistachio, artichoke pesto, and wagyu cecina really created a well balanced and unexpected dish. The burrata was creamy and the salty and sweet components balanced the aged sherry gastrique and made for an incredible intro to a beautiful performance by the chefs. Next was another small dish, which I wish I remembered the description for (I need to bring a little notebook with me), but it was a perfect segue into the next course, the ibérico presa. Wow. Just wow. White asparagus has got to be one of my favorite vegetables next to artichokes, when done exceptionally well, as they most definitely were. The piquillo peppers and pickled shallots complemented the pork, which was so soft, perfectly. I definitely died and went to heaven at this point in the meal. This is probably when I should've stopped eating because after this point, still pure delight, but my poor stomach was soooooo full. Next was another small bite to lead into my next course, also incredible. Wish I could describe it. My next course was the European sea bass. Now, sea bass is my favorite fish of all time. The perfectly crisp skin, the red onion jam, the spicy sweet balance was perfection. I loved every bite. The olive oil potatoes were a perfect complement. And at this point, I was bursting at the seems... but I still ordered dessert, because you only live once and food is one of the great joys of life. For dessert, I had the crema. The honeycomb on top, the cherries, all leading to a perfect finish. A time was had. Thanks El Five

Loved the perfectly chewy ropes of bucatini tangled with crumbled blue cheese, Castelvetrano olives -- and vodka sauce? This should've been a weird disaster, but wound up being our table's favorite dish. Every dish is a commitment to the genuinely unexpected. There was something delightfully more than just salt, pepper and fry behind the eggroll-sized mozarella sticks. Then there was the fig gelato, flanked by warm pear -- and oh my gosh, the apple tart! We had to go back and reread the menu to realize that the caramel really was spicy! This kitchen really finds the funky note in a dish and leans into it. Come ready to share. Every item comes in a "single" and a "mingle" size, which was great for our table of four. We would order 1-2 mingle-sized items, pass them around, and argue about who gets the last forkful. The rough edge is perhaps the service, but this spot is new and finding its rhythm. We found the handoff between counter and floor to be clunky, since it felt like pressure to order in order to be seated, not to order drinks and wait for a table. Maybe this works in a larger space. Maybe they just need to smooth out the flow. Either way, the people are sweet, and the food delicious.

Coming into it, I know Boombots has an eclectic restaurant with a fusion pasta menu, and I was fully on board with trying some weird, funky pasta. The restaurant was nicely laid out and decorated, and the vibes are great. The drinks are delicious and they have one of my favorite non-alcoholic cocktails (What the Hellyante). However, the mains come and the wheels fell apart. We got the congee risotto, the bucatini primavera, and the gyros cavatelli. Let's start with the positive. The bucatini primavera was tasty. The pasta was well cooked and everything ate very well together, albeit a little dry. Overall, a good dish. The congee risotto was also not bad. It was definitely one of the dish I was looking forward as someone who followed their Instagram, but the execution was off. The rice was well cooked but it ate just a tad bland. The 63 degree egg was just a tad over and unfortunately, the told was on the cold side. That said, it was tasty nonetheless. My least favorite part was the amount of toasted seeds on top. There was simply too much and it knocked the balance of the dish towards overly crunchy, which is not necessarily what you expect in a risotto or a congee dish. Finally, the gyros cavatelli was just not it. In my opinion, the dish just didn't work for me. It's a dish with za'atar pasta, gyros, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onions, crispy chickpeas, dill, nad tzakiki. The warm tzakiki sauce along with the picked red onions and cherry tomatoes ensure the dish eats on the sour side. For me as well, the warm tzakiki was off putting in smell and taste. The pasta was also undercooked and grainy. It wasn't al dente, just undercooked. And with everything, the gyros is kind of lost. Overall, just a really odd dish in terms of conception and execution, and one that I didn't enjoy. Overall, I will be generous and give 3/5. I think service was pretty good, the drinks were delicious, and the price was acceptable. Other dishes, such as the lumache and the salads, looks pretty good as well. But based on what I got today, I cannot recommend the dishes we got at Boombots.

Kind of wish the tuna was maybe seared or was something different, but I did like the dish. The short ribs were so tender and delicious. The tortillas were fresh and wonderful as well. The tres leches dessert was also really tasty and had the perfect ratio of cake to milk without it all falling apart from being too wet. In terms of drinks, the corn sour and beet spritz were absolutely amazing. The Negroni was good as well but I think I prefer a classic Italian one. Service was good although sometimes I felt like our server was watching us too closely and I felt weird. In addition on two separate occasions, the cooks that brought the food out touched the food on our plates to make it look nicer. I want to trust that they are clean, but in this day and age of new food poisonings happening all the time, and the fact that they had to open the door since we were outside, I just felt kind of gross about it. Nevertheless the food was absolutely delicious and honestly was worth the price for sure. The food here was much better than some top restaurants in nyc for a fraction of the price. I've been staying at home, but was out of some of the beer I wanted to use. I went out for another errand and happened to pass by Cask and Craft. Hmmm...this sounds interesting. Plus it's a local shop, and I'm all about supporting local, particularly during this time. I pulled up Cask and Craft's website and was super happy to see the list of precautions they are taking to keep their customers safe. Some of these precautions include only 2 people in the shop at a time, use provided hand sanitizer when you enter, and even curbside pick up/delivery. Since I was sitting in front of the store, I figured I'd just go in, get what I needed, and quickly head home. I was greeted and asked to use the hand sanitizer upon entering - yes, thank you. I then explained from a distance that I was looking for a dark beer, preferably a stout. I was escorted to the back of the store and shown the fridge with all the dark beer. WOW! big selection. I had the choice of 6 packs, 4 packs, or mix and match. This was perfect for me because I needed 5 beers. I ended up selecting Jackie O's Java the Stout. When I brought up my 5 pack, the owner told me it was a great beer (one of his favorite dark beers) and that it was a solid choice. He was not wrong. This beer is awesome, and paired so well with my peanut butter cookie pairing. So good. I will definitely be back to Cask and Craft. Their shop is filled with all different types of wine, liquor, and beer. It's organized so nicely, and the shop itself has this comforting vibe when you walk in. I'm so appreciative of everything they are doing to keep customers safe and for the recommendations they give.

The store staff practices social distancing and makes sure all customers use fh sanitizer provided at the entrance. Awesome! Never ever shop and touch anything with unsanitized hands. The store is immaculate and organized! I got two bottles as a gift to Hubby's niece.
