Went to The Captal Grille for a wonderful lunch today. Very nice and comfortable donong room and service from Errol and Stephanie was fantastic. Started with a fresh mixer green salad with blue cheese dressing and a bread basket. Very nice but would have been better if the rolls were warm, should have deducted half a star for this missed attention to this detail. My filet was cooked perfectly with a pink center, seasoned well, moist, and tender. It waa servee with homemade mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, both excellent and much better than my last visit. My meal was completed with flourless chocolate cake topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a raspberry. An excellent meal at a restaurant I highly recommend for special occasions! read more

So this is A really nice spot that you can go to for dinner. It's more of a Blazer type of facility, not like a sweatsuit kind of situation. So keep that in mind, there will be an address code situation if you do come in with some hoop shorts LOL. I came in inside at the bar, the bartender was pretty cool. He only had a couple people there so we actually had time to go ahead and chop it up for a little bit. He let me try one of the drinks, it was the drink that was being infused in the jar or container in the back of the bar, and it was really good. Not really my thing but it was tasty. Tasty. It was vodka, and I'll talk about that below. The bar scene was good. The ambiance of this is definitely dim and intimate it. Maybe a little more dressy. This is not a place you would go to like a sports bar to watch a game at with a ton of your friends by any means. If the steaks are going to be $50 starting off, this is not that kind of party LOL! But if you want a solid high quality meal, this is definitely a good spot for you to try out. If you haven't been. It's similar to a Fleming's or a Morton's, that type of style of steakhouse, and that type of price point. Caramelized French onion soup - So I had some soup, and it was really good. The cup was a decent size but you can also get a bowl of it as well. It came out super hot and the broth was really good and tasty. The cheese melted to perfection. No complaints! Sauteed spinach - I tried the spinach as well, the spinach was okay. It wasn't over the top, but it was spinach so it only goes so hard lol. The dolie - This is the drink that was infused in the back of the bar. It's a vodka and pineapple infusion and it came out okay. I'm not a vodka person, but I can appreciate a good drink and it definitely soaked up all the pineapple and it was pretty decent. I probably wouldn't get it again only because it was not a genre of liquor that I gravitate to her, now because it was bad! Overall this is a good little spot to sit at to get some peace and quiet and maybe drink at the bar or have some bar food or something along those lines. We did family style with the appetizers. Spinach, asparagus, mashed potatoes and lobster mac n cheese. The asparagus and spinach were just ok. I would say both were a little overcooked and lacked some flavor. The mashed potatoes and lobster mac n cheese were the star. The mashed potatoes were soo creamy and had enuf salt without being too much. The lobster mac n cheese was outstanding. The noodles were perfect al dente, the cheese was creamy with generous portions of lobster. I know there is a saying to order steak from a steak restaurant and that is true in this case. I went with shrimp and lobster risotto for a little lighter fare. The risotto was overcooked and the flavor was off. I won't totally downgrade the rating because everyone enjoyed their steaks and you could tell they were perfectly cooked as ordered. We had a wine Oenophile (wine enthusiast) with us and he was in charge of the wine. He searched and ordered for the table. We were served the 2022 version vice the 2021 he ordered. I would not have noticed the difference but he did when they presented the bottle. He asked about it and was told it was the same. He ordered another bottle that was closer what he was looking for. They followed all of the other wine etiquette as far as giving him the cork etc. The service was on point for the meal. Never been to The Capital Grille before but heard so many great things about it. Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience. I made a 530p reservation, about 2 weeks prior, for their Wagyu & Wine special. My mother is a hamburger connoisseur!! As I was leaving my house to make the 45min commute, I received a phone call from the hostess, letting me know that she'd like to apologize, but they were sold out of the Wagyu. It was 4:41pm!! Dinner service just started!!! I decided to go anyway because again, I've never been there. Get there and there were several others, waiting in the foyer, that were talking about the Wagyu special being SOLD OUT. We sat down ordered some drinks and placed our food order. The bar seemed a bit understaffed as there was just 1 bartender to handle the bar, service bar, the hi-tops, and the booths (in the bar area). Our apps were brought about 7-10 min after we ordered. Our drinks (2 glasses of wine + 1 mixed drink) took 30 min. The soup was cold and the calamari was just room temp. The bartender was able to get us another soup, fresh and hot. When our entrees came, the lobster crab cake was just lukewarm but we managed. I hate to send stuff back. Too bad I could not avoid sending the burgers back... They were ordered MR and MW (slight pink). They both came out Well Done. Mind you, these are not the Wagyu burgers...they are the regular burgers from their lunch menu! The bartender was clearly apologetic and offered a dessert. We ordered the apple tart and it unfortunately did not land either. The ice cream was way too sweet as if it was laced with too much caramel or toffee. The crust was bit soft and un seemed underbaked. I truly think that the bartender had a lack of help from the waitstaff. Our food staying in the window, getting overcooked, because while he's making drinks for the restaurant, I don't think the servers were too interested in running bar food they see in the window. Really disappointed. Thankfully I had a gift card but it's going to take a lot to convince me to go back. I ordered the scallops and lobster risotto which was inedible. It was so salty I winced when I tried to eat it. Tried to get someone's attention but it was a busy night and I was seated in a booth. Unfortunately, since no one came to check on me I ate the scallops out of hunger. Again, so salty it was like biting into a lemon. Otherwise I would've sent it back. Later my server offered to get something else when he came to clean-up but I was so off-set by the inedible food and lack of service at that point I just took some creamed spinach home. My steak is always done to perfection and the mashed potatoes are amazing. The Mac and cheese however was just a bit too creamy, but once I let it sit and ate it the next day, it wasn't as creamy. The French onion soup was delicious, it didn't have that sweet taste like many French onion soups, it was perfectly savory. We sat at a booth in the bar area and the service was good. Went to lunch Thursday Jan 8, 1:00. Ordered the lobster and shrimp sandwich, it was over done, crumbled, the bun was burnt, too hard to eat. My Caesar salad had so much dressing on it I couldn't eat it. I've had this before and it was wonderful. The restaurant was not busy at this time. We went on super bowl Sunday so the restaurant was not very busy. The servers were attentive and friendly. I am a frequent lunch time patron of Capital Grille - Perimeter. So much so that several hosts, bartenders, servers, cooks, and managers know my who I am. When friends are in town I try to swing them by Capital Grille. I have enjoyed creating community with the employees and other patrons. The environment has provided a quiet space for me to focus on work on occasion. Today, I walked in and was greeted by a familiar host. I walked over to the bar and was in the process of pulling out my laptop. The host came over and informed me that unfortunately I needed to leave due to having on "athletic wear" and that there was a recent corporate push to crack down on people with this type of attire. The host acknowledged that the location knew me and apologized, I cannot begin to explain how embarrassed I was. The patrons at the bar and in the lounge area, who did not know me, were left to make any type of judgment on my character and make any type of speculation on why I was asked to leave. Let me be frank. In a time where much scrutiny has been placed on social identities, I believe I was singled out due to a perception that my appearance did not "fit" Capital Grille's brand. To be more direct, the reaction to my "urban" attire carried racial undertones that were more a bullhorn than a dog whistle. At 12:00 in the bar/lounge area, it is difficult for me to see how my outfit would somehow offend other patrons and damage Capital Grille's brand. But, more troubling, it is disappointing to see that Capital Grille is making an intentional effort to limit who feels comfortable patronizing the establishment. We are living in an ever more polarized social state and, as someone born and raised in the South, today I felt the sting of the reality in which I live in. I have made the decision to no longer give my business to Capital Grille - Perimeter. At the current moment I am at another establishment in Buckhead - Chops - that welcomed me with no judgment and look forward to steering my connections here moving forward. Do better. read more

Phenomenal experience! A friend had a birthday dinner in a private dining room at The Capital Grille. This being my first experience, this was such an elevated experience. It is located on the outskirts of Perimeter Mall and has free parking and there is plenty of it. When we arrived, there were two very friendly young ladies at the host stand and they both greeted us as we walked in. We got seated and Natalie, our server, came over right away and offered the water. She then took our drink orders and so kindly waited for the remainder of our party to arrive to go over the menu and the specials. She gave great recommendations and servers favorites to help us decide what to eat. I ordered the wedge, sirloin medallions and lobster tail with a side of mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious! I also ordered the coconut cream pie for dessert which was absolutely phenomenal! I had so much food that I had to take half my meal and half my dessert home. I haven't been here in years and finally went last night. The ambiance, customer service and food were on point. We ordered Fried calamari (no pic sorry) for an appetizer which was delicious. They were fried perfectly and were light and crispy, the Seared beef tenderloin with butter poached lobster tails, Truffle Parmesan fries and the Tomahawk Veal Chop were amazing and cooked to perfection. They also give you a complimentary bread basket that was really good and had many different breads to choose from. Our sweet waiter was Michael and he represented this place very well. He was very attentive and displayed great customer service. He gave me a sample of this pineapple infused vodka drink which was divine and even gave us a free dessert plate since our meal was a redo birthday dinner that we had at another place. The desserts were the Cream Brûlée ricotta cheesecake and their Flourless chocolate cake. We like the cheesecake better, but if you like rich and decent chocolate the flourless cake will be more up your alley. I can't speak highly enough about this place and the customer service that we received from all the staff. My meal was around $163.00, but it was worth it and we had a wonderful evening. We ordered Lump Crab w/remoulade & Lobster Mac & Cheese as our appetizers and they were wonderful. And, since it's my birthday, we took Ashton's recommendation of the Creme Brulee cheesecake w/berries. It's my husband's favorite new cheesecake. The lump crab with remoulade is always my favorite thing to eat there - even more than the excellent steaks! The bar area was lit perfectly, we found seats immediately, the music was not too loud and there were basketball games on 2 different sets above the bar. This was my first time at this establishment, and after reading the reviews, I was excited to try it. My boyfriend wanted to surprise me by taking me out on Valentine's Day. He made the reservation and was so excited about it that I didn't do it. Our reservation was for 5:30 PM, so we left home at 4:00 PM since we live an hour away. However, the host staff's service was where the experience started to falter. My boyfriend reserved the only seats available at the time, which were at a high top table (something I dislike). As we walked to our seats in the bar area, he noticed we were heading to a high top and asked the host if we could get a regular table instead. Before we could reach the hostess counter, another hostess told us, "No, that's what they reserved," so we returned to the high top. At that point, I was trying to make myself comfortable with the fact that we had to sit in the bar area. A water server brought us some water, and we began to look at the drink menu. Ten minutes later, Demetrius came to our table and asked if we would like to order an appetizer. I mentioned that we would like to order drinks first, and he said he could get those for us. Our drinks arrived about eight minutes later, but before that, another server approached us to inform us that he would be our server for the evening. Unfortunately, he never returned to our table. Demetrius, on the other hand, was doing a great job trying to make our visit special. Twenty minutes into our experience, a booth beside us was seated, and it was clear that they were VIPs. The manager visited them three times, and multiple servers attended to their table. I even noticed another lady manager stop by as well, all while we were still waiting for our drinks. We finally received our drinks at the same time as the VIP table. For our first visit, this place was disappointing. They did not provide any information about the restaurant, the manager never came to our table, and we didn't feel like important guests at all. **Pros:** - The food was great. I actually would've preferred a different server, but in general, nothing really bad happens happened. The server just was a little rushed and seemed unfocused. For instance, when he came over to take our order, he put down some dirty dishes that he was busing, and then, after he took our order, he picked the dishes back up. I would think it would be better to take the dishes all the way back, and then come back to the table and take an order. It was kind of gross looking at dirty dishes while I was ordering. He put them on the ledge behind my dates head. Another thing and not to be too fussy, but I ordered my steak rare and it definitely came back medium. Made a spur of the moment reservation and wasn't able to get a table in the main dining room for the desired dinner time, so made a reservation for the bar instead since they had one slot left. Thought that we would be forced to dine on the high top bar stools, but was just happy to get any reservation. When we walked in, we were most pleasantly surprised that their was a luxurious booth by the bar and THAT'S where we were actually seated. I ordered the dry aged NY Strip with lobster Mac and cheese, and my taste buds were simply blown away. The steak was cooked PERFECTLY to my liking, and seasoned the way a good steak should be - you the point where there was flavor in every bite, but only to where there seasoning complimented the quality of the meat and didn't overshadow it. I had the Pan-Seared Sea Bass with Miso Butter, Shiitake Mushrooms, Asparagus and it was crazy flavorful, but that wasn't what keeps me wanting to go back, it was the mouthwatering cheesecake that really sealed the deal. My cocktail for the day was the "In Fashion" Russell's Reserve 10 Year small batch Bourbon, Grand Marnier, Black Walnut Bitters, orange ice sphere, and Amarena cherry. The drink was real smooth and had a great punch to it. The atmosphere is cozy and great and the servers were beyond amazing. Best dining experience I've had in a long time. Our waitress was fantastic and walked us through all of the entrees giving us a picture perfect idea of what we would be eating, she was very helpful.
