Capital Grille does it for me every time. I even came during the Wagyu and Wine event, and when I tell you that was the best burger I've ever had, I mean it. It was so good that I went back again the same week just to have it one more time. On my most recent visit, I had what I believe was the beet and goat cheese salad, and it was easily the best thing I ordered. Absolutely 10/10. I also tried the oysters. They were on the smaller side and tasted okay. I'd give them a 5/10. For my entrée, I had the scallops. The flavor combination was interesting and overall very good, but it felt like it was missing something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I'd give that dish an 8/10. Decided to dine in tonight for the Wagyu & Wine special they have going until mid Nov. Upon arrival you walk into a very dim environment. Great for a sexy date night. I sat at the bar to watch MNF and I already knew what I was getting so I kept it all simple. Felicia was my bartender and was very hospitable. I went with the Swiss mushroom Wagyu burger with duck fat fries. I wanted to upgrade to the house made kettle chips that come with a horseradish/caviar dip for a small upgrade but they were out of caviar. The burger arrived and was cooked a bit over my desired temp. One of the other bartenders offered to have it made again but I declined because I was starving. The flavor content was there in spite of so I was actually able to eat half of my burger. The duck fat fries were so good and I had to remind myself to eat some of the burger. Lol. Dry aged to perfection. I had the Kona Crusted NY Strip. Ask for your steak to be cooked Pittsburg style. Crusty exterior with a perfect medium rare center. The sides are served family style. Our first time at this location, we had meeting at near by hotel. We love a friendliness of the hosts and informativeness of servers. Excellent services. Filet Mignon cooked at requested temperature. Even though Tomahawk veal chop cooked at an incorrect requested temperature for the first time but a manager and server paid attention and made it perfectly cooked right away. My boyfriend and I visited the Capital Grille for our first anniversary. We had reservations and we immediately sat down in a booth that was decorated for the evening. The restaurant was dimly lit and was very romantic. Our server was Javiar and he was attentive, personable and overall an amazing waiter. He gave us wonderful recommendations for the drinks; the Mango Royale which my boyfriend ordered and I ordered a French 75 which we both enjoyed. He offered suggestions for the appetizer and even let us know some of his favorites. The crab and lobster cake was absolutely delicious and the green sauce that it came with complimented it perfectly. Next for our entree's, Javiar was kind enough to inform me that the preparations could be made on any cut of the steak which I appreciated. We ordered the Filet Mignon with the Kona Crusted preparation and the Lamb Chops. For sides we ordered the truffle fries and as were in between the sautéed spinach & the brussel sprouts, which we decided to go with Brussels. Javiar was kind enough to bring sautéed spinach out for us because I was interested in a lighter option. Everything was delicious. I've been to The Capital Grille in Atlanta before, but this Fort Worth location was top notch. We ended the meal with a special anniversary dessert, the cheesecake which was so decadent. I'm not a cheesecake person, but this was one of the best tasting desserts I've had. I've stopped into Capital Grille Fort Worth twice this week for lunch, and the contrast in service between the two visits was noticeable. Monday: Great experience. Bartender had strong service flow--simple things done right: pepper for soup, timely refills on club soda, and overall attentive service. I had the $28 steak-and-fries lunch special with soup, and everything hit the mark. Brought a colleague and we both left impressed. Tuesday: Completely different experience. Sat at the bar again and started with a club soda--but never received a refill. Asked about a turkey club, which wasn't available, so I ordered the chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, it was a miss. The chicken was chewy, and one edge was mostly fat/gristle--bad enough that I actually spit it out. Hard to ignore. Service today felt focused primarily on guests drinking alcohol rather than those eating lunch. Several guests enjoying food seemed overlooked, and I only received one drink throughout the meal. I didn't get pepper for my soup, never had anyone check back after the sandwich arrived, and overall the attentiveness just wasn't there. I typically look forward to lunch at Capital Grille when in Fort Worth--especially the lunch special--but today's experience really missed the mark. My husband and I have visited this location a few times in the last two years and the meals are consistently good and the service is unparalleled. This evening we went and our third course was running behind and the manager apologized and comped us our entire meal. We were fine just sitting and chatting but they insisted on making it up to us. My husband and I just had the most amazing anniversary dinner here. Walking in, the ambience was dim, cozy, and elegant. Our waitress was incredible - she wished us a Happy Anniversary about 4 different times throughout the meal, complete with a card signed by the whole staff, a complementary appetizer and dessert, and a rose. She also took and printed out a picture for us before we left. All the staff were notably kind and attentive. We were given water and bread before the meal began. Personally, I didn't care for the breads with onions and some other mix-in, but I have been known to be picky. My husband enjoyed all the breads, and I found the other 2 to be great with the butter. The waitress helped us choose glasses of wine. We picked the cheapest reds because we weren't particular and they were both on the 90+ list, and they were excellent with our dishes. After ordering, we were given a small plate of lobster pilaf, which, like the lobster mac and cheese, improved upon each bite. We decided we will order the lobster next time simply from the small bites of it in these dishes (and my husband is not a seafood person!). I had the filet mignon and found it perfectly cooked, though it could have done with a little more salt. Incredible crust and melt-in-your-mouth tender - 8/10. My husband got the balsamic-glazed steak. He found it to be a tad too much balsamic but still enjoyed it. As a person who doesn't care for balsamic, I thought it was pretty tasty - 8/10. We ordered the flourless chocolate espresso cake to round off the meal. It came out on a plate that read Happy Anniversary (pictured). It was SO good - not too rich; perfectly decadent with whipped cream and raspberries alongside - 9/10. Everything was well worth the money, as we left with a bag full of leftovers and stomachs full of delicacies. The attention-to-detail was appreciated - even the doggie bags came with typed thank-you notes. Will definitely return! Also: the bathroom was very nice with soft toilet paper, hands-free flushing/door-opener, and lotiony soap. Our server was attentive and pleasant, but our wedge salad order was not put in, and when our entrees arrived, we inquired as to our salad and received apologies - we decided to pass on it versus receiving after our entrees. When our meals were packed to go at the end of the night, we received our daughter's leftover steak and sides and she ours. These were both very delish! The complimentary breadbasket they provide has a variety of different breads, they were all so good! We opted to split the Porcini Rubbed Ribeye with an added lobster tail. We also did a half portion of the lobster mac & cheese and brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a great crust. The mac & cheese was also very good, nice and creamy. The brussel sprouts were some of the best I've had. I called ahead to confirm if a reservation was needed and to see if I could order off of the lunch menu for dinner as I was staying in a hotel and did not have any ability to reheat leftover steak. She was incredibly friendly and attentive and just made my solo dining experience wonderful. 10 stars for Madison! I ordered a medium rare 8oz Filet Mignon, Parmesan Truffle Fries, and a Crème Brûlée. The food did take a bit of time to come out, but I was in no rush and conveyed that to the employees. There was also a breadbasket featuring several varieties of bread that came with a massive slab of salted butter as an included appetizer to the meal. I would say the steak was good, but I would have appreciated a bit more flavor/seasoning. It had a good flavor - just not enough of it! The fries were delicious, but it is absolutely (and deceptively) two servings worth of fries. Crème brûlée was great and just light enough to finish out the meal without feeling overly stuffed. Honestly such a great dining experience, and while the food was good, Madison is really what made this a 5-star experience. Honestly, can't believe I'm just getting around to reviewing Capital Grille but this place is definitely worth it. Staff is always friendly and attentive. That's the main staying power here. While I normally don't state it in my reviews, the staff is one primary reason why I recommend places. Staff is usually the defining factor in achieving 5 stars. Food is always excellent. Steak here isn't over seasoned and usually cook to perfection. One thing I do appreciate is that guests I've brought to this restaurant who have tried chicken dishes and always raved about it, something I don't say often about steakhouses. Ambiance is a mix of modern and art deco. I have always recommended this place when asked where to eat in Downtown Fort Worth. While Del Frisco is another go-to, this place is a definite must.
