We were in town and we wanted to celebrate some wins as a family and decided to come to Capital Grille after they told us over the phone that they had availability after speaking to someone for a spot at 7:15 pm. Although we came early at around 7 pm we didn't get seated until 7:45 pm. My 2 year old son was hungry and my wife went and ask the front desk ladies what's going on. Besides attempting to calm us, nothing resulted to action. We were starving, had we learn that appointments didn't matter we would have went somewhere else. At 7:45 PM, we were finally let in toward the edge of the restaurant and seated at an extension of the seating area from the original restaurant. Utensil's were missing and chairs weren't placed. The lady apologized and got us our chair momentarily. I was a little disappointed at the level of service so far. They made us wait all this time for a table that weren't ready at the edge of the restaurant in an extended area... This didn't signal to us that they wanted us there, does it to you? In terms of looks inside, the restaurant had a traditional feel for a fine dining restaurant. Things were aged but you can tell that they were made of quality including the wood that's being used for the chair. We ordered the Caesar's salad, Sea Bass, Shrimp Cocktail, a L shaped bone in Fillet, and a side of cream corn. In terms of taste, honestly, they were good and I can't say anything bad about them. However, this is probably my worst experience in a fine dining restaurant and unfortunately I question whether their service staff is trained if at all. Or am I missing in this picture? I mean seriously? No chairs setup at the table? No utensils? Am I in a fast food restaurant?

Celebrated a birthday last night at this location and it was great. The service is always professional and courteous and the food is consistently great. Oscar is an amazing bartender. Very classy. The calamari is a must. Had the filet with porcini rub, strip au poivre and au gratin potatoes. Outstanding

The only thing I don't like about this place is that it's all the way in Arizona. If I could get a Seattle location that would be perfect! Last summer we visited this place twice while taking my parents to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale for treatment. The interior is so beautifully decorated, spacious, and with intimate romantic lighting. Both times we dined, the service was absolutely outstanding. The manager came and chatted with us both nights and our servers and assistant servers were top notch. The steaks were cooked perfectly and everything else we enjoyed phenomenal. Just this week, my parents are back at the Mayo Clinic for unfortunately a very lengthy stay. Their anniversary was during this stay, so I got them reservations at this location and called to order a bottle of champagne for them. The ordering experience was so professional and seamless I couldn't have been happier. They listened to what I wanted, didn't try to sell me the priciest bottle, and made sure the message was exactly as i asked. My parents had the absolute best anniversary night! The restaurant had decorated the table with rose petals, brought out a dessert with a candle, and everyone they interacted with wished them a happy anniversary. I'm so pleased that with everything they are going through with their health, that this restaurant let them have one perfectly stress free night of bliss.

I haven't been to this location twice and to the location on camelback quite a few times. The service at both locations is always stellar. Even as a young guy, I like the older class and feel with the waiting staff wearing the gold jackets. Our waiter for the night was Eric and he was amazing the entire night: very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The drinks are always delicious and as for the food we have a variety including the oysters, calamari, sea bass and scallops. We have tried the steak many times prior and it is always cooked correctly. It's nice when you get to walk into a restaurant where people still dress up a little bit and I appreciate the upscale classy feel of all locations. Overall, no complaints and will continue to come back as long as standards are kept up!

Love the warm yet sophisticated vibe every time I walk into The Capital Grille. Skipped their famous steak today because we came for the burger and wine pairing Happy Hour menu -- I ordered the Wagyu Mushroom & Swiss Burger, and it is absolutely delicious! The Cheesesteak is a bit fluffy, unlike the dense New York style, but was good coupling with fresh berries. Service was good.

We celebrated our anniversary at Capital Grille and it was absolutely wonderful! Shoutout to our amazing server Lori who was attentive, warm, and knowledgeable. We ordered lobster bisque, filet mignon, and truffle fries. All of which were delicious. We also enjoyed some Riesling and appreciated it was perfectly balanced. The restaurant also did a wonderful job with thoughtful touches for our anniversary including a card, hearts on the table, a picture, champagne, and dessert. We dined earlier and appreciated the calm and romantic ambiance. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Capital Grill is far less pretentious than other favorites! I'm sold on this. In fact it holds true for my wife's birthday Friday evening!

My first time visiting this location in Scottsdale which was convenient since I was staying down the street at the Westin Kierland villas. The restaurant is located on the corner of the Promenade shopping center so there's plenty of parking and even EV charging located 10 minutes away by foot. The ambiance is pretty typical of other Capital Grille's, but this location has the grandest interior of any other Capital Grille location I've visited. My friendly waitress was professional and well versed on their entree options. We started off with a order of calamari and a basket of complimentary hot, yummy bread. The calamari were yummy since they included the tenacles which are my favorite. Pre main course was the wedge salad and a cup of chowder. The main course we opted for the aged bone-In NY Strip 18 oz, sea bass with shiitake Mushrooms, asparagus & butter sauce, Sam's mashed potatoes and cream spinach. Lastly for dessert we chose the flourless chocolate espresso cake and Capital Grille cheesecake. Every entree was cooked to perfection and the taste were above my expectations. Overall, the dining experience was memorable, impressive and would definitely recommend this Capitol Grille location.

Great food and great service. They are also really good with allergies. Don't love the ambiance with dead animals on the wall but overall very fancy restaurant otherwise.

It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio for Thanksgiving despite the fact that they don't have enough umbrellas , and we were given a bit of an attitude, by the hostess for asking to change tables to get some shade. Other than that, the Service from Chris was impeccable and the food was to die for.. and the French onion soup was fantastic, but I would've liked the cheese to be a little bit more browned and bubbly . The brioche stuffing was scrumptious and so was the turkey so juicy and tender and a very generous portion. The bussers were equally delightful and the service exceptionally attentive.

So we came for restaurant week... we had made a reservation. First of all, there's very little self parking. So either plan to valet (complimentary) or drive around for a bit and walk a little farther. We got in, checked in and waited for about 5 min for our table. We got sat and promptly were given water. We then ordered some drinks and took a look at the menu. Our server Julien was super nice and knowledgeable. We ordered the Korean bacon, wedge salad, fresh spring salad, clam chowder, a special of veal steak, 8oz filet, 10 oz filet with mushrooms and cipollini onion, bone-in NY strip steak, lobster mac and cheese, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, flour less chocolate cake and the cheesecake brulee. The Double cut smoked bacon with Korean BBQ glaze was good... the glaze was ok but from a Korean perspective, it wasn't amazing. The pickled shallots had an ofd flavor to them. The fields green salad wasn't anything special. The clam chowder was good but not outstanding The wedge with bleu cheese and smoked bacon was probably the best appetizer. The 8oz filet was nicely cooked and had a great seasoning/sear. The 10oz sliced filet with mushrooms and cipollini mushrooms was cooked well hut lacked flavor. The mushrooms and onions added some flavor and that did help. The veal steak was ordered medium rare but was cooked more medium well. (Slight pink). It had good flavor but was definitely overcooked and thus, a bit dry. The NY strip steak with shallots butter was the star of the entrees. Perfectly seasoned snd cooked! The sauce complimented the dish nicely and added an extra level of flavor that was amazing. We all wished we could have added a side of the sauce. The creamed spinach was ok but lacked seasoning The mashed potatoes weren't anything special The lobster mac snd cheese was quite delicious. It had a good amount of lobster. The flourless chocolate espresso cake was very good but very rich. I loved the Capitol grille cheesecake. It had a brulee-like topping. It was delicious. I also ordered the Capital Grille Signature Martini but asked for it a bit sweeter than normal. The bar tender added some simple syrup and a sugar top to the glass. I do wish the sugar coating on the glass was on the outside, but it was on the inside making it hard to reach. The ambiance was quite nice. We could talk to each other without yelling or straining to hear. The lighting was also good. We didn't need additional light to see our menus. Overall, I would go back. If you ever do visit, ask for Julien. He was excellent! We never needed to ask for water or refills on soda.

I had a great experience at The Capital Grille. I ordered the chicken, which was cooked perfectly. the portion size was generous as well. I also had a lemon drop martini that was so good. It is strong so don't drink too many of them or you'll feel it. The ambiance was obviously very elegant and the service was extremely attentive, we felt like vip's. I'd definitely come back for another evening of great food and drinks.

Ask the Community - The Capital Grille

    Do they allow shorts?

Yes but they have to be "dressy" shorts, no denim, no cutoffs etc etc

When do they switch over from lunch to dinner menu?

11am-4pm is lunch. 4pm-9pm is dinner

    Do they allow nice jeans?

A nice pair of jeans is acceptable. Not the torn up type. A collared shirt too, no tank tops. A t-shirt is probably frowned upon but if it is covered by a nice pullover sweater, that's ok.

Do you have a private room for about 15 guests?

The experience continued to feel awkward when the young woman escorting us to our table asked how my day was going. I mentioned that it had been going well until I was spoken to rudely by the hostess, and instead of addressing the situation professionally, she responded coldly and seemed to take offense. Our waitress also came across as abrupt and unfriendly. When our friend asked for another drink, her response was sharp and dismissive. While I understand that drink timing depends on the bar, the way it was communicated was unnecessary and unprofessional. To her credit, she did improve later in the meal, and the dinner ultimately worked out. However, had we not been dining with two other couples, we likely would have left after those early interactions.

The name really fits because there are several different seating areas, including cozy groupings with soft couches and chairs, traditional dining tables, bar seating and an outdoor patio. There is also a separate larger room that looked great for groups. It's nice enough for a fun night out or date night, but the overall feel is relaxed and casual, so you definitely don't need to dress up. We went for a girls' Happy Hour, specifically because the Wine Wall sounded like so much fun, but one of the things I really liked about The Living Room is that you absolutely don't have to be a wine drinker to enjoy it. They also have a reasonable, well rounded menu and signature drinks. Happy Hour is weekdays from 3-6 PM. The menu offers $2 off wines by the glass, draft beers, signature and well cocktails, as well as the bruschetta and flatbreads. So one person could come for wine and bruschetta, and someone else could enjoy a beer with flatbread, or have something from the regular menu. There are salads, soups, sandwiches, sushi rolls, food from the grillI, and starters. We first shared the Artichoke Spinach Dip. I feel like the dip is a portion for one, as you can see in my photo; it's in a small ramekin, but the chips are fantastic and sharable. I had the "fried rice with steak, chicken and shrimp topped with a fried egg." The "steak" was tiny little pieces, not slices, but the portion of fried rice was very generous and filling. It's a "Starter" that was a "meal" for me. I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the food prices are. Now for the Wine Wall, because this is such a fun part of the experience! You're given a Tasting Card that works somewhat like a debit card for the Wine Wall. You tap the card at the WineStation, choose the wine you want and then select a 1 oz, 3 oz or 6 oz pour. Each wine and pour size has its own price, and every selection is added to your Tasting Card. At the end, the accumulated amount is transferred to your restaurant check as one "Wine Wall" charge. Our server was wonderful about showing us how everything worked. He walked us over to the Wine Wall, explained the system and dispensed our first glasses for us. Later, when he asked if we wanted more, my friend ordered another 3 oz Silver Oak and he brought it right to our table, so we didn't even have to get up again. If the Wine Wall is one of the main reasons for your visit, there are couches and tables right by it. You might want to choose that area if you plan on trying 1 oz. tastes of several wines. We enjoyed two excellent Cabernets from the Wine Wall: Caymus and Silver Oak. I had a 3 oz Caymus, a 3 oz Silver Oak, and my friend had a 6 oz Caymus and 3 oz Silver Oak. Our total Wine Wall charge was $83. We're already looking forward to returning for what will feel like a different experience by having white wine and sushi outdoors on a cool evening. I could definitely see The Living Room becoming an easy choice for a casual Happy Hour or dinner with friends.
