Let's just say....i was underwhelmed. The restaurant is beautiful don't get me wrong. I was seated in the lounge and they were playing jazz music and it was cozy. Didn't feel out of place eating alone since I wasn't the only solo diner. My waitress was Gabi and she was nice. Very friendly. I will say the buss boy was so attentive omg. He kept refilling my water glass without asking and took dirty plates as soon as I was done. I was like omg. The food was okay. Not too impressive. My bill was an even 70 before tax. The bread was really confusing. The bread roll wasn't very good and I received this cracker thing? I was not sure what to do with it. I ordered the clam chowder and it was average. It had a nice clam to potato ratio. I will say some of the clams were gritty and it could've used more salt. At least I wasn't fishing for clams. The entree was okay. I'm really confused by the presentation of the dish. The plate was too big for the presentation and there was a random leaf thing? I was like -_- not impressed. There should've been a sauce or something for decoration. You only get one side. Usually you get vegetables and potatoes. The steak was nice. A little under seasoned. I asked for med rare and it came more rare than medium rare which is fine. It was easy to cut through. Quality control is lacking here. But th potatoes. Omg. I wasn't sure if it was just the fancy mashed potatoes that are French or whatever. But they were gummy. Like a paste. I was so confused. They also tasted like nothing. It had too much mixer in the drink. So I was getting straight lemon juice with every sip. Barely could taste the amaretto. Usually in an amaretto sour there should be foam on top if you want to be an actual bartender. Which is what I would expect at capital grille due to the reputation. North Italia makes the best amaretto sour I've ever had in my life. Perfectly balanced and foam. For a restaurant like capital grille I was sorely unimpressed with the quality. 5/9/26 Worst dining experience I have ever had. Husband was treating me to an early Mother's Day dinner. First time dining here. Waiter Eric was clearly not interested in helping us. A VIP table was behind us and all waiters and managers were falling all over them, we were just ignored and had to wave down the waiter multiple times. Then I ordered tomato bisque, I was served lobster bisque and I have a severe shellfish allergy! Instead of the waiter IMMEDIATELY APOLOGIZING, he questioned me as to if lobster was a shellfish- EDUCATE YOURSELF !! He then said his finger hit the wrong button and had the correct soup delivered to table. Should have taken soup off of the bill but did not, just stated he would do better next time. We were in town and we wanted to celebrate some wins as a family and decided to come to Capital Grille after they told us over the phone that they had availability after speaking to someone for a spot at 7:15 pm. Although we came early at around 7 pm we didn't get seated until 7:45 pm. My 2 year old son was hungry and my wife went and ask the front desk ladies what's going on. Besides attempting to calm us, nothing resulted to action. We were starving, had we learn that appointments didn't matter we would have went somewhere else. At 7:45 PM, we were finally let in toward the edge of the restaurant and seated at an extension of the seating area from the original restaurant. Utensil's were missing and chairs weren't placed. The lady apologized and got us our chair momentarily. I was a little disappointed at the level of service so far. They made us wait all this time for a table that weren't ready at the edge of the restaurant in an extended area... This didn't signal to us that they wanted us there, does it to you? In terms of looks inside, the restaurant had a traditional feel for a fine dining restaurant. Things were aged but you can tell that they were made of quality including the wood that's being used for the chair. We ordered the Caesar's salad, Sea Bass, Shrimp Cocktail, a L shaped bone in Fillet, and a side of cream corn. In terms of taste, honestly, they were good and I can't say anything bad about them. However, this is probably my worst experience in a fine dining restaurant and unfortunately I question whether their service staff is trained if at all. Or am I missing in this picture? The only thing I don't like about this place is that it's all the way in Arizona. If I could get a Seattle location that would be perfect! Last summer we visited this place twice while taking my parents to the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale for treatment. The interior is so beautifully decorated, spacious, and with intimate romantic lighting. Both times we dined, the service was absolutely outstanding. The manager came and chatted with us both nights and our servers and assistant servers were top notch. The steaks were cooked perfectly and everything else we enjoyed phenomenal. Just this week, my parents are back at the Mayo Clinic for unfortunately a very lengthy stay. Their anniversary was during this stay, so I got them reservations at this location and called to order a bottle of champagne for them. The ordering experience was so professional and seamless I couldn't have been happier. They listened to what I wanted, didn't try to sell me the priciest bottle, and made sure the message was exactly as i asked. My parents had the absolute best anniversary night! The restaurant had decorated the table with rose petals, brought out a dessert with a candle, and everyone they interacted with wished them a happy anniversary. Ordered a wedge salad with bacon and heirloom tomato. The heirloom tomato turned out to be one very small cherry tomato slice so thin it looked more like a garnish than a component of the dish. Order a steak with french fries the french fries were very underdone. For $200 dinner I expected not to be disappointed. I haven't been to this location twice and to the location on camelback quite a few times. The service at both locations is always stellar. Even as a young guy, I like the older class and feel with the waiting staff wearing the gold jackets. Our waiter for the night was Eric and he was amazing the entire night: very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The drinks are always delicious and as for the food we have a variety including the oysters, calamari, sea bass and scallops. We have tried the steak many times prior and it is always cooked correctly. It's nice when you get to walk into a restaurant where people still dress up a little bit and I appreciate the upscale classy feel of all locations. My friendly waitress was professional and well versed on their entree options. We started off with a order of calamari and a basket of complimentary hot, yummy bread. The calamari were yummy since they included the tenacles which are my favorite. Pre main course was the wedge salad and a cup of chowder. The main course we opted for the aged bone-In NY Strip 18 oz, sea bass with shiitake Mushrooms, asparagus & butter sauce, Sam's mashed potatoes and cream spinach. Lastly for dessert we chose the flourless chocolate espresso cake and Capital Grille cheesecake. Every entree was cooked to perfection and the taste were above my expectations. It was a beautiful day to sit on the patio for Thanksgiving despite the fact that they don't have enough umbrellas , and we were given a bit of an attitude, by the hostess for asking to change tables to get some shade. So we came for restaurant week... we had made a reservation. First of all, there's very little self parking. So either plan to valet (complimentary) or drive around for a bit and walk a little farther. We got in, checked in and waited for about 5 min for our table. We got sat and promptly were given water. We then ordered some drinks and took a look at the menu. Our server Julien was super nice and knowledgeable. We ordered the Korean bacon, wedge salad, fresh spring salad, clam chowder, a special of veal steak, 8oz filet, 10 oz filet with mushrooms and cipollini onion, bone-in NY strip steak, lobster mac and cheese, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, flour less chocolate cake and the cheesecake brulee. The Double cut smoked bacon with Korean BBQ glaze was good... the glaze was ok but from a Korean perspective, it wasn't amazing. The pickled shallots had an ofd flavor to them. The fields green salad wasn't anything special. The clam chowder was good but not outstanding The wedge with bleu cheese and smoked bacon was probably the best appetizer. The 8oz filet was nicely cooked and had a great seasoning/sear. The 10oz sliced filet with mushrooms and cipollini mushrooms was cooked well hut lacked flavor. The mushrooms and onions added some flavor and that did help. The veal steak was ordered medium rare but was cooked more medium well. (Slight pink). It had good flavor but was definitely overcooked and thus, a bit dry. The NY strip steak with shallots butter was the star of the entrees. Perfectly seasoned snd cooked! The sauce complimented the dish nicely and added an extra level of flavor that was amazing. We all wished we could have added a side of the sauce. The creamed spinach was ok but lacked seasoning The mashed potatoes weren't anything special The lobster mac snd cheese was quite delicious. It had a good amount of lobster. The flourless chocolate espresso cake was very good but very rich. I loved the Capitol grille cheesecake. It had a brulee-like topping. It was delicious. I also ordered the Capital Grille Signature Martini but asked for it a bit sweeter than normal. The bar tender added some simple syrup and a sugar top to the glass. I do wish the sugar coating on the glass was on the outside, but it was on the inside making it hard to reach. The ambiance was quite nice. We could talk to each other without yelling or straining to hear. The lighting was also good. We didn't need additional light to see our menus. Overall, I would go back. If you ever do visit, ask for Julien. He was excellent! We never needed to ask for water or refills on soda. read more

Today I had the filet w lobster and it was cooked tender to perfection , the lobster was not chewy of overly salted my wedge salad was huge , for me the only down side was the bacon on it was very natural so it was almost like rendered pork fat vs crispy pieces of bacon My favorite is their creme Brûlée. Our first time to this Capital Grille location. We arrived at a busy time with lots of guests arriving for 6:30 reservations. We were seated after a brief wait. I immediately noticed that it was extremely cold in the restaurant, we mentioned it and they stated that someone else had commented and they were adjusting it. We ordered our meals and our server Chris was extremely attentive. I just wish someone would have mentioned they have shawls available....because throughout the meal I was miserably cold. I loved my seafood cocktail. I also had a wedge salad and chowder. The chowder tasted amazing but was barely warm- and my husband really enjoyed his chicken entree. But, I was so miserable I told my husband let's pass on dessert...I'm freezing and just want to get outside where it's warm!! He mentioned that to Chris and that's when he mentioned the shawls!!! Dang!!! It really would have changed my enjoyment of the evening to have had that offered right away....like most establishments in the summer they tend to go overboard on the air conditioning... I really regret not knowing sooner about. The shawl or adjust the temperature. I didn't take a picture but wish I had. We had the crab cocktail, soup and a Caesar salad yesterday. All were gorgeous and delish. Also, the Prosecco is fabulous. I have had many other dishes here and it never disappoints. This location is always, always a wonderful experience. The staff is exceptional. Yesterday, we sat at a table at the bar and talked for hours. The servers never rushed us and let us enjoy a beautiful afternoon! Plus, it is a really lovely space. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and she was quick and attentive with the drink service.(Very Important). Hahaha All of the food was well prepared and presented. Also had some fantastic wine that paired perfectly with the steaks. We got to meet Jon who is the restaurants (biggest cheese) last night. It's probably the best fine dining service experience we've had. The managing partner and the various servers did a fantastic job in welcoming us and making us feel cared for. The ambiance is cozy and private despite being a large place. The meal started with a variety of breads. Enough so that each guest could have one of each. Then we had the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella. The bread that came with it was hard and didn't do anything to knock back the saltiness of the cooked prosciutto. It may have been better raw. We then had the scollop and risotto. The scollops were cooked perfectly. The risotto was too watery. Then we had the American wagyu strip. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Not A5 level, but tasty, I'll probably go for the aged new york next time. The desert was loved by all, but the caffeine free chilocolate cake was too rich for me to enjoy more than a bite, so good to share. Again, I can't express how great the service is. I got a gift card to The Capital Grille when I purchased a mystery box at a nonprofit fundraiser in March 2025. The gift card was for $200 and I was very excited to try as I've never been here before. I didn't open the whole envelope, but saw the card inside a second envelope and just knew the amount for the gift card. I was going to take a good friend out to dinner to celebrate her retirement so I went to pull the gift card out, Nov 2025 and found a note inside that said the gift card was only redeemable until the end of September. I'm sorry what? Since when do gift cards expire? It really blows my mind that a donation to a non profit event has an expiry date. While yes I recognize that I would've known there was a food until date had I opened the envelope sooner, but I knew that it had the gift card in it, so there was no reason to look at it. Most gift cards don't expire for at least a year or longer. When I went to the restaurant to ask about it, they said that it was voided after September and there was nothing they could do about it. While yes, my money went to a good cause for the nonprofit, I'm very disappointed in the lack of customer service by the restaurant and now I will never try this establishment. I understand that I am one person, and I will not affect their business at all in any way shape or form, but the whole situation is just super shady and does not make sense to me.
