They had me at Caramel. I've probably been to this shop at least five times since they opened. When they first opened and I saw the name,I knew I had to check them out and as soon as I walked in and saw their goods-I was hooked. This shop is located in the Nut Tree shopping center,kind of by the Merry-Go-Round. So much parking available-though the lot does get busy on weekends as anyone who goes to Nut Tree knows. So this shop is a locally owned business-they only have one location and supporting them is truly the definition of supporting local small business. They make homemade candy. It's chocolate and caramel heaven. They have so much good stuff-chocolate pretzels,chocolate-dipped red vines,chocolate peanut butter cups,caramel apples,chocolate-covered caramel-dipped marshmallows,white chocolate,dark chocolate-it's overwhelming. I make it a point to stop here almost every time I drive through Vacaville to pick up a little something-in fact I'm going to Giants game tonight,I'm most likely going to make a quick stop before the game. It's that good of a shop-they get priority status whenever passing through their town. I feel the prices are still pretty decent as well.They also have a pretty good rewards program one can sign up for in their shop. I like that you can see where they are making the candy in the back of the shop-feels a lot more authentic. They make gift bundles for like graduations and birthdays as well. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this but their candy is delicious-so tasty,chocolate is so rich-you can definitely tell it was made with love and homemade recipes. In closing, I would recommend stopping by this shop if you find yourself at the Nut Tree shopping center and give their yummy candy a try-they are bound to have something you'd enjoy. read more

I'm really disappointed in this place. I really wanted to try some of the sweet treats. Unfortunately my 7 year old son who can be impulsive touched one of the caramels and was scolded and shamed by the extremely rude and abrasive woman working there. She made him feel awful and embarrassed. We ended going to See's instead and will probably never be back. read more

It was a very cold day and we saw a sign that said "Free hot chocolate". I thought there would be a "catch" with it like we would need to buy something, but nope. We went inside and sure enough, they asked if we would like hot chocolate. I was with my family so there were about 14 of us and 6 of us wanted hot chocolate. Since we were in there, my family started to browse... That's when I knew they got us. Lol. We ended up leaving with 1 Carmel apple, and more than 7 chocolate treats, from chocolate gummy bears, chocolate marshmallows, chocolate pretzels, chocolate Carmel squares, salted Carmel and more.. so much stuff that I couldn't even count. The staff was very friendly and helped out everyone with patience and got hot chocolate for everyone too. The spot has some if the best sweet treats in town! And there's a nice variety selection from caramel candy apples, chocolate dipped treats, etc. My favorite there are the Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Dipped S'mores which are a store favorite. The milk chocolate may a touch on rich side, but it's not too rich to me. While the dark chocolate variety has that usual kick but it nicely balanced. Lately I've been stopping in at least one every two weeks to get my S'mores fix. And the customer service at the counter is always friendly and welcoming. read more

If you're looking for fresh caramel, caramel apples, chocolates, and fudge at the Nut Tree plaza, this is your dessert spot! We parked right in front of it and the kids ran inside and they ran straight to the caramel apples and pointed at the ones they wanted! We got the mini m&m caramel apple since one of the kids has a nut allergy. There caramel is not made with nuts. The green apple was so crisp and fresh! I asked them to cut it up for me and we all got a piece and it was a nice great treat before playing on the playground and train, carousel area across from it. Service was great, it smelled so good upon walking in and nice and air conditioned. It was a $10 caramel apple but I think it was worth it! They also had some Samples too! read more

This place has become my new guilty pleasure. I love coming on Fridays because they always have a deal on their caramel apples. My favorites are the cheesecake caramel apple and the fruity pebbles caramel apple. The cheesecake apple didn't make it home... hence why it's not in the picture. . I also really like the macadamia nut or almond caramel clusters. I think of the two the macadamia is my favorite. The caramel in general is the star of the show. It is so soft and just melts in your mouth. Even after being in the fridge for a few days it's still soft and doesn't stick to your teeth when you're eating it. read more

I was visiting Vacaville on business and had the pleasure of meeting Devina when I stepped into the Caramel Company. There were SO many good things to choose from. I picked up gifts for people back home, and Devina gave me some pointers on how to keep them as fresh as possible (air!). She even included clear bags and ribbon for me to put them in when it was time to give them out. The recipients LOVED their caramel apples. I recommend these if you have someone you want to give a sweet gift to or say "thank you." I imagine these would also go over well as nice employee appreciation gifts! My only regret was not getting a macadamia cluster (the clusters are HUGE!), but I LOVED my m&m apple! Worth a 400 mile road trip back to Vacaville? Maybeeee.... read more

I really wanted to enjoy my experience at this location, especially since it was said be the same management with the former Rocky Mountain Fudge shop in Vacaville. However, I was disappointed to find that the recipe and quality seems to have changed significantly. I spoke to the lady behind the counter who was very nice and she assured me it was all the same apples, even though they did not look like anything I had ever purchased from Rocky Mountain fudge prior. I still wanted to give it a shot. I purchased two caramel apples today, and unfortunately, they were soft and tasted like old fruit. Upon cutting into them, I noticed the insides were brown, which raised big concerns about freshness. They even smelled like old fruit. It seems there may have been issues with proper refrigeration, as caramel apples should be kept chilled rather than left at room temperature as bacteria can actually form on caramel apples if not refrigerated properly. Additionally, the presentation left much to be desired. The apples were placed on paper that clung to the caramel, resulting in some of it coming off when I tried to remove the apple. The packaging resembled a simple liquor store brown paper bag, which didn't convey the charm of a candy shop. As for the caramel itself, it appeared grainy, and separated quite a bit and I couldn't quite put my finger on what was off about it--perhaps it had been left out for too long? I've noticed in other photos the caramel is not shiny like glass. Overall, I can't recommend spending $8 to $10 on a caramel apple here based on my experience. I hope they can improve on these aspects in the future! read more

Absolutely delicious! I got a caramel apple with peanuts and it has to be the best one I have ever eaten. The caramel was the perfect consistency and the apple was a great, crisp match. It was so good that it was on my mind for an entire month until I was back in town. The place itself was clean and spacious. Great little shop in the Nut Tree Shopping area. We visited for some sweet treats after dinner on Friday night. Very nice staff welcomed us to the store and went through a few of their favorites. We opted to try a variety just to get a sense of what they had. We tried the almond joy bomb, the peanut butter cup, the milk chocolate clusters and the regular and salty caramel. Everything was absolutely delicious and tasted so fresh. We especially loved the Carmel!! We only wish they had more caramel selections like lollipops. Well worth a visit and great place for sweets. I was really excited to try this place out since I saw them on Facebook, however, when I walked in today the inside smelled like sewage. Not sure if this was just an off day or if the building is going through some issues, but it was very off putting since we're dealing with food. I bought a few small items since my parents taught me not to go into a small business without buying anything, but I ended up not eating them because I couldn't get past the smell of the store. I came in here kinda on a whim to find some last minute goodies for the holidays and I'm so glad I came in. High quality chocolate and caramel make for delicious, indulgent treats. They specialize in elevated versions of popular candy bars which they refer to as "knockoffs," but Twix *wishes* it was this good. Everything is so buttery and rich and I'm eating way too much. read more
