So, I wish I was able to give this company 5 stars, but unfortunately I cannot in good conscience. Alonso started off very attentive and competitive to get my business, which was nice since I was on a budget. In the beginning, Alonso either took my calls or called me back or texted that he would call when he had the opportunity. We agreed on 1/2 down and the remainder of the bill when the job was completed. The day that the job was supposed to be completed, I stopped by the Carpet Center's shop and dropped off the remainder of the bill. I trusted that the job would be finished on time (which was supposed to be that same day and what I had seen thus far looked good). This was in the morning. In the afternoon, Alonso called me and told me his guy was there finishing up and I said I just left there and his person was not there. He told me he would check it out and call me back. Now remember, he has all his money from me...I never heard back from Alonso again. I tried calling to see if he had solved the "mystery" of his guy that was supposed to be at my house and he never responded to my call. I called again, because I wanted to know how to care for the floors that were just put in and again, no response. I texted him and asked if he was getting my messages...no response. It has been over a week and it is as though I don't exist. I am very disappointed that the customer service seems to end when you write the final check. I also noticed a flaw in my flooring (it was covered in protective paper at the time they finished for the painters to begin) but I am not even going to bother to call because if the carpet center will not return my calls when I have a general question regarding my floors, I know they will not call me if I have an installation issue. I will cut my losses and will not be recommending them to others. read more

Our experience with the Carpet Center was excellent. We worked with Paul who was very helpful in the showroom and throughout installation. Paul let us bring home carpet samples to see how they looked in the house and he brought some additional samples when he came to do measurements of the rooms. This is because our cats unfortunately found the looped carpet that we had really liked very irresistible for scratching! So happy we learned this with a sample and were able to switch to cut pile! We had 4 bedrooms carpeted and 2 hall runners custom made (which we love and are the best hall runners we've ever had!). They even worked with us on the installation doing it in 2 phases as our remodel was occurring. read more

I called in a bit of a panic. My house is going on the market in a week and I needed to get the carpets replaced; ugh the dreaded renters. I went to Home depot originally and had them come out for an estimate. The day came for them to come instal and they decided that installation day would be a great time to say they refused to remove the old carpet! ARG! I called the carpet center and talked with Paul. He was calm, informative, informative, and very flexible. I intended on using the Carpet Center but later learned home depot would not refund me!!!!! I highly recommend using the carpet center! The Carpet Center is the only place you need to go when you're looking for carpet. Like you, when I started my carpet search, I turned to Yelp to help me decide which carpet shops I would visit. I chose three and after visiting them, looking at what they had to offer, checking prices, and talking with the sales people, the decision was a no-brainier. Alonso was very knowledgable, explaining fiber and padding differences. He listened to my concerns and my desire to replace our carpet with the same style and color, which unfortunately isn't made anymore (the carpet couldn't be that old!). He searched and came up with two good options. When he came to measure the house he arrived on time, checked to make sure that the new carpet wouldn't be a problem with the doors opening and closing, and was professional and pleasant to work with. To sum up our experience with the Carpet Center: They have a wide selection, if they don't have what you're looking for they will find it for you. I found CC based on a good recommendation from a friend. Overall, I would recommend these guys. Family operated and personal. We were able to take home and return/get more samples as needed, which really helped us decide on the colors, carpet and flooring choices. Our initial bid for this work was too high, so, we questioned the rates and compared to other places like S&G, and CostCo. After a short meeting, we were satisfied with a new, lower bid. The installers were two guys (Cruz and ?) these guys are great and very hard workers. Cruz is very professional and is like a cabinet maker paying attention to details like floor trim and doorways. My only negative is they are not real great about taking care of preparing the rooms for demolition.I had an old tile floor in my family room that had to be jack hammered out. I was concerned about the dust and was surprised they did not bring any plastic to cover doorways, etc before starting. I found some plastic and taped rooms myself, however, we still had a LOT of dust escape throughout the house and into rooms where we had our family room furniture stored during the demo and installation work.The job was bidded for a good 4 days and the plan was to start on Tuesday and finish Friday. However, the guys did not start till Wednesday and worked long days in order to complete the installation. The last day (Friday) they worked from 8am to 8pm with no breaks to compete the job! I would have preferred a Tuesday start as it was tough on my wife and I to have them work such long hours,, Overall, these guys are good and would not hesitate to recommend them to others. read more

Before I called these guys I had done some price shopping at Home Depot and was not impressed with the quality of the carpet or the backing for the price range I was asking. Seeing the good reviews on Yelp, I went to these guys. They explained in detail the options I had and really worked with me on price given that I was adding carpet to an apartment, not my own house. There was absolutely no sell-up pressure too. They installed only a couple days later, and my God the guy who did my carpet was extremely through and professional. He did not rush the job and took his time with each detail. I even had specific requests that made it a little more annoying to install the carpet and he met each one finishing WHILE I WAS AT WORK! I came home to what I consider an impeccable, flawless job. The carpet looks great, and he managed to install it around the Comcast cables that were stapled to the baseboard. I did not do the entire carpet, but he made the two carpets meet directly under the door as they should. Anyway, I could not be happier with the service. I love this company. Their prices are great; they do what they promise; they show up on time. We bought our hardwood floors from this company. We were initially concerned that hardwood floors might not really be their area of expertise since the name of the company was The Carpet Center. How wrong we were! Their prices were lower than their competitors by thousands of dollars and the installers they used were fabulous. The job was started on time and completed early. The floors couldn't have turned out better. Nick, the owner, was very professional; he showed up on time; the job began on time and was completed a day early. We didn't have to pay extra for every little thing like furniture moving and the quarter molding around all of the baseboard. We had 1580 sq ft of hardwood floors installed upstairs. They took care of moving all of the pieces of furniture, many of which were antiques, and we just had to sit back and watch our second floor converted to something fabulous. The furniture was moved back to the original positions without a scratch on one piece and we didn't have to pay extra to hire a furniture mover. You aren't going to find a better deal in the South Bay than The Carpet Center. Get your hardwood floors from this company and save yourself a bundle! Go see Nick. Let me start by saying we used The Carpet Center in the past and had a great experience. This time around however we encountered a few issues which left us fairly unhappy. The positives: The installation took place quickly (two days to complete) and the installer did a great job. The negatives: We wanted to go with The Carpet Center since we had a previous great experience as mentioned above, but had gotten a cheaper quote from another retailer. When asked if they would price match the carpet that we had selected they responded that they could. It didn't have to be the exact same carpet but we wanted to make sure that the brand and class of the carpet (Stainmaster active family and Stainmaster carpet pad) was the same. It was assured that the carpet we ordered was also a Stainmaster carpet and had the same warranty. When we called the store since confirmation of the date and time of the installation nor the receipt of deposit or an official quote with carpet details had yet to be provided and we were getting worried, we then found out that the carpet was not a Stainmaster carpet after all. It was chalked up to miscommunication (even though we have an email assuring us that what we were ordering was a Stainmaster carpet). We are giving two stars since our previous experience was positive but our recent transaction would only warrant one star due to 'miscommunication'. read more

I just payed $430 for an italian carpet with the promise that it doesn't shed and that i can return it if it does. Lies. We had carpet installed in several rooms and stairs. We shopped around and prices were comparable to 2 other places. A colleague referred us here so that tipped the scale. The installation went fine and took the length of time quoted. The crew scratched a few places on our wall and a ceiling. The carpet pattern on the stairs was not consistent. Still, we were satisfied with the job. However, the satisfaction was short lived when the salesperson asked for more money saying that the installers worked hard and took longer. The job was done in the number of days quoted and working hard should be a given. As consumers not in the business, we rely on the vendor to estimate and commit to the quote. If an outlier happens during the job, it should be communicated with the client. Telling us after the fact and asking for more money undermines the business's credibility. I was ready to refer 2 colleagues to this business but can't in good faith due to this experience. read more
