We ordered vinyl flooring for most of the flooring in our home except for 2 -1/2 baths after a partial home inspection and a floor plan (with dimensions) were complete in order to obtain Murison's estimate to demo (and remove) the old flooring, order and obtain sufficient vinyl flooring, and install the new flooring. We also contracted with a General Contractor to remodel 1 full bath and the 1/2 bath including floor tiles. We were told that after demo and delivery of the vinyl flooring, Murison's installation would only take several days, After a Murison's agreement was signed, we were told the vinyl flooring amount ordered was not sufficient and more would be needed. We changed our order to instead carpet the master bedroom closet to minimize the added cost. During installation, both the General Contractor and Murison's had scheduling problems, but scheduling and rescheduling Murison's installation work was almost a daily chore. Coordination (at the flooring interfaces between newly tiled baths) between the General Contractor and Murison's installer was especially difficult since Murison's installer did not come many days as scheduled and rescheduled. The General Contractor accomplished some of the interface and some other work (instead of work by Murison's as previously agreed) in order to complete the project and an additional payment to the General Contractor was made. My wife shopped around as we needed new carpeting. Ed at Murison's give us the best service and ease in selecting a carpet. After several days of deciding what carpet we needed, a date was set for the installation. We were doing four bedrooms and Ed said it would take two days. On the day of the installation, we received a call that the crew was finishing another install and might be by later. They couldn't make it. Needless to say we were disappointed after preparing 4 bedrooms. However, the next day the crew arrived bright and early and finished all of the rooms in one day! I purchased shutters from Murisons 3 years ago and had a pleasant experience. A lot must have changed since then. After my dog ruined one of the shutter panels, I immediately called Murisons for the replacement. It took over 2 weeks and numerous phone calls and emails to FINALLY have someone respond back with an appointment to take a measurement and provide a quote. I understand being busy, but it would have been appreciate to know this upfront and to have an appointment scheduled 2 weeks out versus feeling ignored for 2 weeks. Finally someone comes out and 5 minutes for measurements - a couple of days later we get the quote which was more than a competitor I had come out and provide a quote. The competitor btw admitted his quote was more than he knew we were expecting, but he even thought the original installer's quote would probably not be as much - well, that was wrong. Now Murisons wants to charge me $75 for coming out and taking measurements for 5 minutes. Never once was a cost associated to a quoting process mentioned. One would think between the dozens of phone calls and emails that someone may mentioned there was a $75 cost for coming out an quoting. This entire process has been completely horrible and they have definitely lost me as a customer. read more

Oh, the show room looks lovely, the owner is attentive -ready to measure and get your order, but after that, customer service goes out the window. I followed a friends recommendation (should have looked at yelp) and ordered my linoleum the first part of June for installation on June 18th. We were having our cabinets refinished and that project was taking longer then expected, so I called Ed to reschedule on June 13th - he said that would be fine. We rescheduled for June 30th @12:00. He even called on Friday the 27th to confirm. On June 30th he called at 11:30 stating there was a problem with the linoleum and it couldn't be installed. He said the LA warehouse had it in stock and he would work things out and get back to me....which he didn't. I called the store at 4:45 and he had left for the day. I called twice today and he was either out of the office or again had left for the day....meanwhile I am on my 3rd day with no refrigerator, oven, portable cabinet, hutch, table..... A common courtesy of a phone call might have added stars to this review or have made me not even consider posting a review... read more

Guy sells me carpet that is discounted because the product is being closed out. The pattern has parallel lines. The installer fails to 'line up' the pattern and the carpet quickly begins to fray at the seems. I ask Ed to take a look, he says' "What do you expect, this was discount carpet" I respond that it was not discounted because it was poor quality, but because it was a close out. Ed failed to see why I was unhappy. Also, he never came back to install the threshold where the carpet met my vinyl flooring at the bathroom door. (Plus, his installer tracked carpet adhesive on to my base boards.) I've did not post a review at the time because I did not want to hurt his business. But, I'm still living with the awful installation and I feel I owe it to prospective future customers to hear from a past customer. I have posted photos to this site, they show the seams that I complained about to the owner at the time of completion. I gave him every opportunity to 'make it right' he was unwilling to correct these issues, arguing that 'the carpet was on discount' I see now that he has responded to my review. I'd have been more sympathetic if he had actually taken responsibility for his installer's incompetence when it was pointed out it to him at the time. read more

The hardwood cupped within weeks, and since then I've been back and forth for months trying to get resolution. They just keep saying it's a problem with the house...which of course is ridiculous since the other hardwood floors have been there for 10 years without any issue. Run away. read more

This is a long overdue review, but better late than never! We had our floors done last year and we still love them as much as we did the first day. We had the big task to replace all the carpet in our house with hardwood floors. We went to many hardwood floor stores in the span of weeks to figure out what we wanted and finally found Murison's at the recommendation of a friend. With the help of Ed, the owner, who came to visit our house to provide his expertise, we were able to narrow down our options and figure out exactly what we wanted. We brought home some samples so we could match exactly the type of look we wanted, and we found exactly what we were looking for. When our first floor was completed, the house looked so gorgeous that we decided to replace all the carpets on the second floor as well! Ed and team also provided a recommendation to replace the carpet on our stairwell which looks amazing. The whole process went flawless. Ed would call us and come by consistently throughout the duration of the hardwood and carpet installation to ensure everything was going according to plan. Ed and team were such a pleasure to work with. His crew always came on time, moved and cleaned everything after they left, and were super nice to work with. The shopping and installing were night and day different. Ed was fantastic - showed up on time for the quote, they had exactly the tile we wanted for our kitchen, and the installation was scheduled accurately. Five stars so far. Unfortunately, from there it went down hill in a hurry. The installers - "The Floor Guys" according to their shirts, showed on time and started right away, coming back the next day to finish up. Once done, we noticed a number of tiles that weren't level - over 20 of them to be exact. The installers came back out, and were much less friendly this time, trying to tell us that was the way the tile was made. Odd that it was only in part of the floor though. My personal feeling is that his new guy did the bad section, but I don't know. They broke out the bad tile, and replaced them. A day later, we noticed there were still a number of tiles that were not level, as well as grout that was a different color than what was originally put down, so we call again. A week later, the same installer, much less friendly now, is back, tell me that it was good enough, and the grout just takes time to dry. When I told him we weren't satisfied with the uneven floors and grout issues and I won't going to pay for the install (we had already paid for the tile) until it was corrected, he said he'd just pack up his tools and put a lien on our house. They did remove the tiles and fix the grout - amazing the new grout matched perfectly. I was just happy to have them done and out. There are still a couple of tiles that are not level, and they managed to damage our kitchen cabinets during this last visit. So, bottom line, I would happily shop with Murisons again, but if "The Floor Guys" are their installer, I wouldn't let them inside my door. read more

A great shop I went in looking at carpets and when the sales agent discovered I am a special education teacher, he offered me carpet squares for my students to sit on and when I told him of my "Jungle" project, he had some of the tubes the carpet comes rolled on cut to shorter lengths so my kids are now making trees for the project. 2 stars may seem like a generous rating for a company I would never recommend anyone use. But the fact is that they did finally make things better and there should be some reward for that. If we give the same 1 star to companies who fail and then resolve it as to companies who just fail, then ratings are less useful. They didn't know how to prepare the floor to receive the hardwood, they tried to convince us to ignore the hardwood manufacturer's instructions (despite having agreed in writing to install to those specifications), and on and on. But they did, finally, find a good person who knew how to do it. But the pattern is scary. They don't do the most basic stuff that is needed before flooring is installed. If you pay to see the reviews on "her" website, be sure to search by "Murison's Flooring America" and not just "Murison's" to see the F where they claim it's not their problem because homeowner's house was damp. Flooring 101...and instructions on every box of hardwood...do calcium chloride test and don't install if it's damp. If we'd believed that our floor didn't need the factory-specified prep, we could have been in the same boat as those homeowners later on, with damage to the floors and no help from Murison's. They also took months longer than planned, they ludicrously tried to convince us to pay more than contracted for with questions like "well, what do you think is fair?", and several other problems. I wish we could separately give 4 stars to Li, the head installer on our job. His finish work was meticulous and impressive. But he was part of the problem, too, when it came to prep work. He acted like he knew how to do it when he didn't, didn't follow the instructions on either the flooring material or the preparation material, and he tried to assure us it would all be fine. read more

We have dealt with Murison's in the past and have always been very pleased. Recently we needed some repair work done to our 20 year old Armstrong composition vinyl flooring and replacement of vinyl baseboards in the reception area and restrooms of our veterinary clinic. This involved removal and installation during our regular business hours when there was a lot of traffic and activity going on. Flooring America has been a great help. I came here to actually look for flooring for a commercial unit. Ed helped us and is one of the most informed people I have met and was very patient and helpful with the suggestions he made. The pricing is great, comparable to better than most of the stores on tile row (i.e. Terico, Bullnose Tile, etc) Ed even allowed me to borrow several sample tiles and laminate floors with no hassle several time, which was a big help. In the end, I ended up getting two types of nice porcelain tile to do the entire office that fit my budget well. Will definitely be coming back for future projects. read more

i made an error with two stars, actually i hope there are no stars. The owner is a fraud. He charged me $4500 for 3 windows and I have a ton of proof in writing that it is not what I ordered. He charged my card and now I cant get it back. I am suing him and actually had producers contact him to go on Judge Judy. He is obviously a chicken and would have so much humiliation. We had our mfg. wood floor installed in Sept 2013. I hadn't planned on writing a review (I generally don't) but after reading the reviews currently on YELP, I felt I should. Ed (the owner) came out, measured the floor, advised us on a product that he felt would be the best option for us (it was and it has been). His installer (Keith) was here every day to remove the old carpet, prep the (concrete slab) floor and do the installation., Since he was the only guy doing the install, it took longer that we'd anticipated but we were okay with that. His work was artistry! There was a problem with the adhesive he used but Ed and Keith both contacted the manufacturer and the district rep came to the house and resolved the issue. (Keith had reservations about using that particular adhesive but was assured by the mfg. that the past problems had been resolved. They clearly hadn't been but it's been resolved now). We're loving our floor. The sales and installation experience we had was really good. It makes me wonder of other reviewers used the same company! I used Murison's to install my hardwood flooring, carpeting and tile. There were a number of problems with the tile portion of the project: the wrong tile was ordered, the wrong amount was ordered, and the invoiced amount was not correct. Also, Murison's tile costs are MUCH higher than what you would pay if you purchase the tile through your tile installer, who sometimes pass their discount on to their clients. read more
