Went to try this place with my wife due to all the hype on Facebook advertisements about it. To make a long story short. It not what we expected. We got some mild and hot crawfish as well as some boiled shrimp and snow crabs. The crawfish was average nothing special it was sorta missing that kickflavor that makes it finger licking good...the shrimp as well was kinda bland. What really gets you is you have to beg for utensils that really should be given to you when you order the crabs to help you pop them open. Oh and dont dont even ask for butter cause they will charge for that.While other places will give that for free cause comon you know its boiled seafood and you must have the butter.. Not much to look at, and the staff is grumpy, but once you put the first bite in your mouth, you will put up with anything. Started with fried jalapeños. Fat cuts served with ranch. Excellent. Which means sometimes there is a considerable wait after you order. The good news is that it comes out hot. The gumbo is good but not exceptional. Tried ordering online on two different occasions, menu doesn't come up...call and line always busy

The fry on everything we ordered was excellent. The seasoning on everything we ordered was nonexistent. The first does not offset, in any way, the later. The young lady who took our order knew that this was our first visit. Yet we had to continually ask how many pieces of product were in the various baskets and sizes. I went to the counter to order a drink. The staff was speaking to someone who had already ordered and was just waiting on her order. The woman stepped aside so I could order. The staff did not greet or even acknowledge me. She walked over and asked two other staff members if the lady's order was ready. Then she came back to the counter and the phone rang. My visit to The Catch, Atascocita location tonight verified why I never cared for that particular location. I place an online order and the confirmed time I was given, was 8:20p (no relevance). I arrived 8:30p and noticed to-go containers that could've been mine based on what I ordered, which was, 2-orders for fish and shrimp, 2 sides of green beans, and "boudin balls" (another issue). I spoke to the young lady that was handling the to-go orders, if there was an order for Corey, and was quickly told, it wasn't ready yet without actually confirming. I waited for about 15 minutes patiently before asking if my order was ready only to find out, the order was ready the moment I walked in. Requested to speak to the manager only to get blown off with no remorse that her staff, not only didn't confirm my initial request, but argued with me that the food I seen on that counter was for someone else. The manger definitely needs accountability training, and need to know how to take care of customers when they clearly made a mistake. To top it off, I was accidentally given someone else's meal, which I'm sure created another issue with the next person. I have eaten here about 10 times now and love it. The catfish and chicken tender basket is my favorite. Everything is cooked just right. The hush puppies were so-so the first few times, but lately have been much better. I don't really care for the fries, but you can substitute other sides for no additional charge. We tried to order our normal boiled shrimp and Cajun garlic butter. To our disappointment they have changed the menu and baskets. That sauce was everything and made everything taste better!!! They said it was to stay in line with the franchise. If this is he case it may not last long. This building has been cursed with multiple restaurants that didn't last. This may be the beginning of he end. In addition now under new management, the new owner was there at a table in the back. He stops at one table to get feedback and not others. There were only 3 tables left in there. At least address all your patrons. I would have told him about taking that garlic Cajun butter off he menu. Our meal was not as satisfying. May not return. I went here with a semi-large group for my birthday last week. I got the snow crab (1lb) with corn and potatoes. I chose the Full House sauce with medium spice! The manager or maybe owner was so gracious and helpful. The came out in a boiled as I assume they boil more that one cooked to order at a time. Not a big deal. This new seafood spot in a strip center was not bad at all. We ordered the gumbo, shrimp po boy, and shrimp salad during a weekday lunch. The prices were fair and they came to check on us a few times during the meal. I wasn't a big fan of the gumbo though. The po boy was very good and the shrimp were fried perfectly. You get about 5 or 6 good sized shrimp in the sandwich, however the sandwich size itself is pretty small. The bread was excellent though. I've hear good things about The Catch, today was my first visit. I hope that my experience today was not their usual. My coworker ordered the grilled shrimp plate with a side of gumbo. I ordered a pound of crawfish and blackened chicken salad. I asked the cashier, what type of lettuce do they use because I'm not a fan of iceberg. She didn't know, goes to the kitchen. The hostess heard me and said iceberg/romaine blend. The cashier returns and said romain. Great! When the salad arrives, all iceberg. I will say the blackened chicken was very good and a generous portion. The crawfish were over cooked and very under seasoned. My coworkers grilled shrimp were very good but the rice was undercooked. So disappointed. We eat in at the catch often and love it! Tonight we door dashed it and had multiple things wrong with our order. 9 things to be exact. I called to speak to a manager and was disappointed as they would not refund us for their inedible food. We are big fans of their fish tacos but they changed their recipes and didn't note this on their website or menu. They also ran out of cabbage and replaced it with "ice burg lettuce" like that's a fair trade. The rice was what the manager called from "the bottom of the barrel" and was hard and inedible. She offered me a 20% off coupon for my next meal and two free cups of gumbo. We spent $60 on our order and truly no one could eat the food. This is so good and so crunchy to eat. And this the best seafood place I ever been that was close to my house.

I was really bummed when leaving this place. I read all the good reviews and was excited to try some good seafood. I ordered the crawfish tails tacos. The crawfish was extremely bland and had barely any flavor. Maybe that's why they have so many condiments on the tables. My husband ordered the chicken strip basket with shrimp. His chicken was bland as well. $27 for two entrees and 1 drink. My drink was free for taco tuesday. We just weren't impressed. The breading was good but that's about it. Will probably give them another shot, but not anytime soon. read more

The Catch was the first seafood restaurant I got to try when I first moved to the Atascocita area. I've been ordering from Favor and enjoyed the food very much. I've finally made my way to the restaurant and it wasn't what I expected, but was still a good experience. The staff nice and answered all of my question about dishes they sold. I usually order the fried catfish, shrimp, and tender combo but today I tried the shrimp etouffee served on top of catfish and white rice with a side of dirty rice and hush puppies. I also added on some boiled sweet corn and red potatoes seasoned in garlic butter. The etouffee was more of an eh-touffee. I was a little let down by it, and the dirty rice was a little bland. The fried catfish and hush puppies were great like they always are and the corn and potatoes didn't disappoint. I'll definitely be back, but I think I'll stick to their fried dishes. read more
