The Catch is a casual, family friendly restaurant with a Cajun vibe. The decor is really cute and the staff was very friendly. We ordered a good bit of food and it all came out fast and piping hot. I forgot to take a picture of the crab boil bag but it was clearly the star of the show. We got the medium spice level which was very flavorful and not to spicy. It also came with corn, potatoes and shrimp. All the seafood was cooked perfectly and not chewy at all. We all had a great time and would definitely recommend giving it a try.

    Butter bag was a mess

We were really unhappy with the food. We got the boiled shrimp that came in a bag full of butter. The taste was bland and the butter got everywhere! A friend got the catfish. The breading was bland. We also got the Cesar salad with blackened chicken. The chicken had gristle in it. I was excited about trying it and leaving very disappointed with plates still full. I gave it a 1 star for the fried okra. It was good.

Calvin was the BEST!! We both had the Big Easy & it was delicious. We will definitely be back on on next visit!

Burnt gumbo bow. ( meats and stew is burnt). Quality standards are ridiculous to send this out to customers

*Buyer Be Ware* *If you are craving Cajun food do not come here!!!! I ordered a bowl of gumbo, sm catfish platter(burnt red beans and rice), and burnt gumbo. Catfish was so thin I might as well order a deep fried batter combo instead of fish. The gumbo and red beans and rice had a similar dark burnt look in which you first smell before tasting. It is not appetizing at all. Please if you are in the area and are craving cajun food just go to calliopes. This place needs to be shut down immediately.

Stopped in for a bite to eat. The restaurant needed some house keeping. There was food on the floors. Mop and broom sitting out by the tables for the customers to see. The restaurcould have used a good scrub down as well. 2/5 The customer service was excellent! Everyone was very nice and accommodating. 5/5 I had popcorn shrimp with tater tots and hush puppies. The hush puppies tasted stale. The tater tots were good but the shrimp was gross. 2/5 The chicken pasta with garlic bread was excellent! 5/5 My nephew said his burger and fries were really good. 4.5/5 Banana pudding 1.5/5 Overall, this place reminded me of an upscale Long John Silver or Captain D's (telling my age).

    Catfish "fillet"

Craving a catfish po- boy, I decided to go to The Catch. I ordered to go. When I got home, and bit into the po-boy, I realized I was not biting into a meaty fillet, but mostly fried coating. There appeared to be 2 "fillets" on the sandwich...unfortunately the both were so thin there was very little meat. Light even shone through them. The bread was also tough...you know like when you microwave bread too long? The fries were ok...hush puppies a little heavy and tough also. I'm not going to say I won't go back (and choose something different) but I was very disappointed.

Really enjoyed my visit to Hudson House…read more I tried the truffle parmesan fries, spicy tuna crispy rice, seared tuna salad, and a strawberry spritz. If you like the idea of an aperol spritz but wish it were a little sweeter, I'd recommend their strawberry spritz. All of the food was really tasty and the portions for their entrees are huge. Service was attentive, and I liked the aesthetic of the interior. Parking is a paid lot like much of Rice Village

Fortunately for me, I was cool with ordering take-out lol. I went strictly for the lobster roll - had seen and heard great things so was excited to find out for myself. ***Disclaimer: Because it was packed and there was a little miscommunication between service and the kitchen my order was ready for a little minute before it was given to me so my food wasn't the most fresh. Lobster roll - it was cool. I liked the bread and could tell that if it was fresh it would've been soft, fluffy & yummy to my liking. The lobster is cold inside the bread (which I personally did not know it would be, as it was my first ever lobster roll). I liked the taste of the lobster and the amount they give but the cold temp was throwing me off just a bit. I would give it a 7/10. I did, however, recently discover that you would order the lobster to be warmed. This is probably what I would do next time. The skinny fries - these were the moment for me!!!! 10/10. I'm a fry fanatic so I really appreciated how delicious and well fried/seasoned they were, especially coming from a dine-in restaurant. I would go back and order 2 orders of these alone. Even with them not being the freshest, they were amazing. Overall, I would definitely go back (either with a reservation or during a weekday when they're not busy) because the place is cute and they had alot of options on their menu that look good. Also, to try the lobster roll warmed and of course, for those delicious skinny fries.

The front hostess, Annabella, was incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel valued from the start. Our waiter was equally amazing and attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring we had a wonderful evening. We started with the deviled eggs and crab beignets, both of which were absolutely delicious. Their French onion soup was hearty. Drinks were fabulous too. For our meal, we ordered the mashed potatoes, cacio e pepe, pork schnitzel, blackened fish, miso fish, and burger, and every dish was perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. The restaurant went above and beyond by surprising my mother-in-law with a birthday dessert (upon my request when I had originally booked it), which was such a thoughtful touch and made the celebration even more memorable. We also enjoyed the pecan ball and chocolate soufflé, and both were outstanding. Between the incredible food, impeccable service, and special attention to our celebration, State of Grace exceeded all expectations. Annabella, our waiter, and the entire staff made the evening feel truly special. Easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in Houston, and we can't wait to return! Hollywood, va voom and metagorda all similar in taste to each other. The maison salad was delicious. Butter lettuce with the toppings and sauce was just enjoyable. Avery was a wonderful bartender and kept up with entertaining conversations and was attentive to all service needs. Tried the g4 tequila reposado and it was very easy drinking.

She checked in just enough to keep things moving without hovering, which is a rare skill and honestly makes a big difference. We had a couple questions on the menu and she knew her stuff--clear answers, no guessing, no confusion. Communication was easy the whole time, solid English, no back-and-forth or missed details. Food-wise, she set the tone and kept it seamless. My friend had the shrimp botana and it was outrageous--in a good way. I went with the mixed cocktail (shrimp, fish, pulpo, oysters) and it was fresh, loaded, and exactly what I wanted. She kept the flow going, drinks topped off, timing on point. And on top of all that--she's got a great energy. Big smile, upbeat, makes you feel like she actually enjoys what she's doing. It lifts the whole table. Closed us out fast when we were ready, no waiting around with that awkward "where's the check" phase. Bottom line: great food, better service. Ask for Fatima if you go--you'll have a better time.
