I'm giving them 5 stars on their potential. I visited in the evening on opening day. The line was a few patrons out the door, it was hot, disorganized and the dining area is cramped. But the staff was AMAZING! In all the chaos, every one of them was kind, courteous, and attentive. No stank attitudes! I loved all the smiles on their faces. So being from Louisiana my first impression was stop adding Cajun to food that's not really Cajun! The red beans was definitely out of a can very watery and wasnt seasoned at all. The catfish wasn't fried and seasoned enough. And the most annoying thing that made me even more upset was who puts garlic bread on top of red beans and rice, where's the corn bread at?! For $40 dollars it wasn't worth it. If I could give no stars i would. Please do better. read more

Excited that this place is around. Would be great to have more inviting restaurants in Meyer Park. My family has gone a couple of times and we all really liked our food. They have slap ya mama seasoning on the table in addition to hot sauces so we were automatically impressed (since we're cajun!) the fried shrimp and crawfish tails are always good. My fiancée really likes the boiled seafood but unfortunately when we went last night they were out. Something for everyone in our family. Fast and friendly service. So I got the four jumbo shrimp and two fried catfish to go. The first thing I noticed when I got home where is they don't automatically give you a tartar sauce and catch up so you may have to ask or may be a self-serve. The food was really fresh. Fresh from the water and fresh out the fryer. The jumbo shrimp was really good loved every bite of it. The fish was ok. I wish it was fried a little longer to get crispy. The question I had was never answered, that being what kind/ name of Fish is their Catch Fish. I am not a Farmed Raised Seafood eater so knowing this about their CatFish was out. I wanted to know what their Catch fish is because if Swai or Tilapia that would be a hard Pass. Problem was whomever i was talking with on FB would not Confirm what their Catch fish is. She answered every question we had and was very knowledgeable about the food. Now let's talk about the food. The gumbo is fire! It tastes like someone's grandmother made it during the holidays. This location has many issues. They offer free beer and margaritas. I have to say, the beer is warm, flat and has no taste. The Margaritas have no liquor in them. Both a total bust. Last night we went in for crawfish and fried oysters. The place was woefully under staffed and the self service line out the door. Tables remained un-bussed for the entire hour we waited with out even a drink. In fact, they were still loaded up with dirty dishes when we took our food and left. Clearly the management either is absent or does not care. Either way, this is NO date night stop. I strongly urge you to choose another venue. read more

This spot was recommended to me so I decided to try it out today, so I noticed it's a little small and the outdoor seating is not that pleasant or covered but I go in and stood in line for 10 minutes because it was only one person at the register so then I decided to sit at the bar and get faster service but no one ever came so we had to go ask someone for service at the bar. The one cashier came over and said they are short staffed and he will be right over and offered a frozen daiquiri that he brought back in a little plastic cup that was on the rocks and watered down ! That I didn't want ( what happened to the frozen in a glass?) so I continued to wait to get some service but never received any after 40 mins me and party decided to leave so I never received any service or had a chance to taste the food!! We went to the catch today for lunch. We arrived at 12 pm and there was not a lot of people there. We were greeted and took a seat as we were waiting on other guests to arrive. Like they stated, you do get a free adult drink with the purchase on a entree. Unfortunately, the frozen margarita machine wasn't working, so we had to enjoy it on the rocks. I got the 3 shrimp and 1 catfish. The shrimp had a great flavor and the fries were excellent. My dad got the gumbo and grilled shrimp. I have been waiting for them to open for some time. What intrigued me the most was the free margarita's, beer, and daiquiris. These are served in clear 8oz.plastic cups(which is fine by me), I mean come on for free what more can you ask for. They are a little more watered down than I expected but hey. My husband and I shared a Shrimp and Catch Fish combo (4, 2) 4 shrimp, 2 pieces of fish Catch fries and 2 hushpuppies. They need to clarify on the pricing, for whitefish the price is $13.99 but for catfish the price is $3.00 more. That almost made my husband leave,but we wanted to try it so he let that ride. As for taste the food was fairly good. Next time we will request that the fish be fried a little crisper. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Still have a few kinks to work out as far as getting the food to the diners. Other than that they are pretty decent. Will be trying them again but next time we will dine in. read more
