Such an awesome experience visiting the Cereal Spot - what a great place to check out while family is visiting! I had been meaning to visit since they moved to a larger location on Elmwood Ave a few months back. The location is quite large with plenty of seating (with both small and large tables). There is amazing graffiti art on the walls with cereal characters AND each of the tables are designed like popular cereal boxes (Frosted Flakes, Trix, etc.)! There are ENDLESS cereal options to choose from, ranging from popular cereals you can get anywhere to rare editions you can only find online. You can mix and match a couple of cereals and add some toppings in a bowl, have them served like a taco shell, OR mix up some cereals with ice cream in a mason jar (YUM). Let me say that the presentations of each dish are beautiful and extremely appetizing. Kudos to the lone employee who was working that day - there as a steady stream of customers for a little while and she did a fantastic job serving us in a reasonable amount of time. I was pleased with the fair prices too. Cereal Spot is a great place to visit for people of ALL ages - you can bring a group of friends and kids would certainly have a blast here. This place is great for everyone; its atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. My friends and I went to check this new hot spot out, stopped in during the week, on a rainy day to avoid the business. As soon as we walked in, you couldn't help but look at the unique themed mural on the wall, or all the cereal choices. The concept is rather interesting mix & match; choose up to three different cereals, comes with your choice of toppings two to three, and milk on the side. Note both size options give you a huge bowl of cereal. They do offer a non dairy version for an extra charge, which was appreciated since dairy milk isn't the best for my stomach. The plain Jane is only one choice of cereal, and toppings. My advise go for something you've never tried, wouldn't ordinary buy and have fun with mixing it up. The owner was extremely pleasent, easy going, and great with offering suggestions of cereals to mix. Hopefully in the future, may they will offer a smaller bowl size. I was really excited to try this place out but was definitely let down. I felt like it was over hyped and although they have a bunch of cereal boxes as decoration, you have a limited amount of cereals to actually choose from. There were only 2 people working and I felt like the menu didn't clearly explain what the items were. I have been waiting to visit for a while! They opened in September 2020 (originally were suppose to open in March 2020) and have anything you would want! My husband and I both did the mix and match, which included 2 toppings. I chose ice cream. We both are lactose intolerant and I have a dairy allergy, so it was amazing to have so many options for milk and even ice cream! Fun place for kids (and adults who want to enjoy all their favorite childhood cereals). We went on a Tuesday so that we could take advantage of their $5 cereal tacos.  So glad that they changed this special from 4-8pm to all-day.  There were 2 standard cereal tacos to 4 "newer" ones to choose from, but then I found out you can create-your-own, because they make them to order (no pre-made cereal tacos here).  I customized mine and ordered a Reese Puff shell with Perry's Brownie Blitz ice cream and topped it all off with Oreo pieces and Golden Grahams.  Although the shell was overly sweet (would have loved some peanut butter added to it), it was bendable, which made eating it easier.  My husband enjoyed his Cookies & Cream cereal taco and my kids LOVED their cereals that they picked out.  It was cute that they had straw-bowls for the kids. Yeah, $3.99 might seem like a lot for a bowl of cereal, but really it's not bad when you think about how you have 100s of choices, a good selection of toppings, a lots of different milks to choose from.  For $27 we got 3 bowls of cereal and 2 cereal tacos and we were all stuffed! A cereal paradise! I've been to one of these cereal cafes in Rochester, so I was stoked when one popped up on Hertel Ave. With over 95 different varieties of cereal and over a dozen different toppings, the different combinations are endless. Staff is very helpful with questions and suggestions, super friendly and seem like they enjoy the business. The decor was awesome, cereal murals on the walls, tables are laminated with boxes of your morning favorites. And my choice - two scoops of cookies and cream ice cream, some Dunkin' Donuts caramel macchiato cereal and a little bit of caramel topping - well, it was a little taste of heaven! I am what we call a cereal addict. The entire bottom shelf of my cabinet is covered in boxes. And yet when I first heard of this place, I immediately dusted off my instagram account to stalk this place. I waited out the initial rush to come in on a Thursday afternoon, dressed for the occasion in a Tony the Tiger shirt and party hat. There was only one group ahead of us finishing up their order. Sure, you're paying 3.99 for a single flavor bowl, and an upcharge for almond milk, served on the side in a cute glass bottle for your convenience, but they're heavy handed on that pour. I paid the additional buck to add in a scoop of ice cream for me and my mate. I got French Toast Crunch with Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream plunked inside like an egg in a nest. The flavors melded well, like syrupy waffles. My mate ordered Fruity Pebbles with a scoop of vanilla. Don't fear; if the tube is empty, it's still in stock. Everything seems to be, even the elusive Alphabits that I haven't found in years. When I stuck my spoon in, tiny toasts lept onto the tray in front of me. It's an art to eat, as the bowl really is that full, of sugar loaded cereal that'll make you jittery by meal's end. But maybe that's just me, from the excitement of all the ambiance of old cartoon theme songs and cereal box tables (with real scannable upcs, because yes, I did try). My mate bought a water, at a bit of a markup. I'll be honest, the place is a bit pricey. However, it was a worthy birthday lunch, complete with a milk syringe cupcake from the owner. Attended the Grand Opening and I was very impressed. So many different options of cereal and milk. They had toppings and cereal bars galore. The portions and prices were on point. Totally worth it. Cartoons playing on the TV made this place nostalgic like a typical Saturday morning as a kid. The mural was some amazing art. The tables were awesome. It was new, fresh and everyone was excited. I went the dessert route and got an ice cream taco. The shell was made of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and then had a cinnamon vanilla ice cream with chunks of cookie dough and Cookie Crisp cereal. It was exactly what it sounds like but better. It was not busy when I was there but I can imagine it may get a little busy on weekends. What a fun spot to check out when you are on Hertle! Currently they are take out only, but still some great selections to get on the go. Whoever heard of the need to be decent at cooking to open up a restaurant? Whyyyyyy is this place so pricey? I can literally buy anything that this "restaurant" offers and cook it up at home. Besides, I'll probably have more fun doing that than shelling away my hard earned money to this establishment. Most of the menu items here are just cereal and Perry's ice cream. The exceptions to this standard are like...what, they sell cupcakes with this dinky little squirter of milk? I can buy all of those things at Aldi's. I should also reiterate how they proudly claim to offer Perry's here. Because they don't want to be original, or because they don't want to take the time to experiment with how other (superior) ice cream brands taste, they stoop to the bottom level and offer Perry's, which basically every other local ice cream shop and grocery store sells. I like two Perry's scoop shop flavors out of their entire selection. Two. And even THEN, I found a pizzeria (Pine Ridge Pizza & Subs in Cheektowaga) that offers a decent sized cup of bubblegum ice cream for $2, and I discovered John And Mary's on Transit Road in Depew, which offers flavored versions of their decent soft serve custard for roughly around $2. Those are good deals. Because Perry's is so overused, I have no qualms about supporting the competition when I want those flavors. But more often than not, I choose to eat BETTER ICE CREAM BRANDS. Like Rita's, Abbott's, Bruster's, Carvel, or heck, even Hershey's Ice Cream at Abbitt Ice Cream in South Buffalo. Most local ice cream purveyors can't seem to grasp this concept. Most especially, The Cereal Shop, who bases their entire business around screwing up this concept. This place won't last two years in business. I'm shocked that they managed to open this place up in the middle of the Covid pandemic and keep it open for this long. They opened it up in an artsy part of Buffalo, on Hertel Avenue. And the whole place is decorated in rainbow cartoon murals and cereal boxes galore. But it's only going to be a matter of time before consumer tastes change, and then no one will really see the appeal in supporting such a pricey business, regardless of the nostalgic artsy atmosphere they're trying to go for. The owners have stated that they wanted to make this place a "Saturday morning cartoon-like experience for all ages". If I wanted a Saturday morning cartoon-like experience, I'll watch Saturday morning cartoons off of Youtube. I love they have so many cereal options like it's hard to choose but will definitely come back and try out their other items and mix ins. I love how they have all milk options so it's so good for people who don't drink regular milk. They also sell bars from sweet whisk and their cupcakes. They have marshmallow treats packed on the counters to grab and go. This place is definitely worth the hype and I'll return soon. They are definitely maintaining safe social distancing and wearing masks for others safety. I love how creative the tables are, and the bottles in which the milk comes in is so cute!
