On the fence with 3 or 4 star review but decided on 3 as I just wasn't wowed with this place. It is located on marina overlooking boats but it's a small marina and feels like it's located in a back alley...weird feel to me. They have a window to order and drink on tiny porch outside that is great idea. Ordered my main stay Vodka with soda water and wow do bartenders have heavy hands! Ate inside, inside is like outside nice but something about it making not great atmosphere for me. Service was quick and attentive but our waitress is lacking in personality very mechanical. Ordered scallops, they were good tasty and right amount of bread crumbs and good sauce. Came with rice or potatoe I ordered rice ok nothing great nothing bad just average as were carrots, which was only option for vegetable. Prices were good portions decent. Overall an ok place, I see it more as a place to go for drinks than to go for food. read more

I was here for the first time a few night ago. It was cloudy for most of the day but ended up being a lovely evening with a great sunset. We started with the steamers. They were delicious. Perfectly cooked and tons of them! I had the lobster salad on Portuguese bread. The lobster was cooked nicely And I liked the crunch of the celery. It wasn't too coated in mayonnaise. The bread was ok, didn't eat much of it. The food tasted the same as the Chart Room in Pocasset and the menu was the same. Since the night ended up being nice, we ate outside. However, There were so many bugs! My skin was crawling after we left. I am very partial to the other Chart Room and probably wouldn't be back to this one. It felt a little unfinished and weird there was a shower in the bathroom. Since I can get the same food at the other one and I like the view so much better, not sure if I'll be returning. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I wish I could give it 0 stars and recommend never going here. We arrived and requested an outdoor table. The hostess told us it would be an hour wait, which we were okay with because we planned to grab a drink as we waited anyway, and put our name in. Upon going to the walkup bar window to order drinks we were informed we could not do so. When we asked why nobody could give us an answer. We then walked to the car and sat there. As we sat in the car we watched other people accessing drinks from the walkup window and realized ourselves that only people sitting on the bench next to the window could order drinks. Annoying that nobody working there explained this to us, but okay now we know. We then received a phone call saying our table was ready. We walked into the restaurant and the hostess pointed to a table inside...with no chairs...and said our table was ready. We informed her that we had requested an outdoor table, not to mention the "ready" table had no chairs, and she said nothing was available outside at this time and that they were waiting for more chairs to become available. So, we had to continue waiting. We were able to get seats on the bench and ordered drinks from the what appeared to be security staff from the walkup window. Honestly, the two guys working this position were the only ones that seemed to know what was going on, were friendly, and were doubling as busboys to help out the other staff. As we sat and enjoyed our drinks, one of the few things we enjoyed all night, tables outside became available...with chairs. Parties that arrived after we did began to be seated. We then said something to the hostess about how we were still waiting and she rudely reported that they had already called us to say our table was ready. We explained that this was when they tried to seat us at an indoor table that did not have chairs and she responded that they had called after this. We had no missed calls and we had been sitting at the bench for another 45 minutes without anyone mentioning a table was ready. We had also gone in to ask if there were any updates on when the table might become available so they definitely knew we were still waiting. After finally being seated we asked the waitress if we could speak with the manager. The waitress said she was sorry for the interaction we had had and the manager would be right out. 20 minutes later, we still had not seen the manager. We asked the waitress about this and she said things were very busy and he could not make it out, but she assured us that she had told him and that he also apologized. Dinner was fine. We ordered crab dip, fish tacos, and lobster rolls. On the way out we asked the security guys if the manager was even working as we had our doubts. Sure enough, they said the only manager in that night was the kitchen manager. Needless to say, I will never be going back here. read more

I don't know how anyone could give this more than one star. We went last night, great view of the harbor but the food was awful! I got the steak tips and they were slimy and grisley, absolutely the worst I have ever had, not edible at all. My mother in law had the salmon and it was overcooked and dry and the asparagus semi raw. The burgers were tasteless. The server was nice but when I sent back the steak tips they took them off the bill but were going to charge me for a burger to replace them. I'm sorry but for the inconvenience I should get my meal comped completely! Will never go back. read more

We've had the pleasure of dining at the Chart room six or seven times since they opened. The menu is modest in size. But the execution is flawless. I wish zero stars were available. Went out to eat with five others I ordered clam chowder and a stuffed quahog, after three hours I am in my kitchen whipping something up... Where to begin... This location has been 3-4 different concepts over the last 10 years, from The Black Gull, Keepers, The Islander, and now, The Chart Room. One of the issues with this spot is they need to be closed by 11, so they need to do all of their business before then..... Soooo.... You would think that they would have perfect service and amazing food... I wish I could say that they have either, but they don't. The food is reminiscent of any other regular cape cod restaurant offering seafood and basic salads, etc, nothing inspired, nothing new. What is very strange is that they offer things like a burger, but no fries.... I mean, a plate with burger and sad scoop of potato salad looks, well sad. I would rather head into the center and order a big burger WITH FRIES from wimpys, 5 bays, or even Crisp... but hey, that's just me... So today we decided to give them another shot after 2 times of mediocre takeout, and decided to eat there.... Wow... what a disaster! First of all, we got there and they had 3-4 empty tables. When we asked to be seated we were told 20 minutes... huh. So we waited and then I finally just had to ask why we couldn't sit at one of the empty tables. The host said, well, you can.... umm... what changed over the last 15 min that we couldn't before but we can now? Well, that's beside the point, I guess... So we sat... and waited... and waited..... and waited.... and waited some more for anyone to come by and acknowledge us. I finally grabbed one of the waitstaff and she told me she would find someone to help us.... what? Why don't you just help us as we were already waiting for 15 min for someone!!! Finally, after getting up 3 times and speaking to the host 3 times, we finally got a waitress!! After placing our order with her, we basically never saw her more than once or twice, so we didn't know that she hadn't put in our order and didn't want to face an unhappy table... hence her disappearing act! I had to go up to the bar to get water and ice tea refills, and as mentioned, our food never came. After 45 min of waiting we finally cancelled food that was never even started!!!! When I finally spoke to the manager, his response to all of the above was an abismal, "sorry about that." Sorry about that?? Now we are hungry, frustrated and we wasted an hour plus at The Chart Room... If I could give The Chart Room zero stars, I would.... Thank goodness wimpys made us some takeout to eat!!! read more

Great place to grab a meal and a cocktail. The staff are friendly and fun. The menu has a good variety of yummy, Cape Cod/New England cuisine. There is a pretty nice view of the harbor too. Really looking forward to the new season. We miss Dana and Lyndsey! We live local and this is our new favorite place to hang. read more

Just had our first take out from The Chart Room. Service was great . Food mediocre. Sword fish perfect. Avocado Salad was okay but lettuce was soggy. Mussels dry and no flavor. Not even a hint of the claimed garlic, lemon, herbs broth. Lobster bisque okay. Disappointed . Was so looking forward to the dinner. Hopefully they can figure out how to cook mussels. read more

Had lunch today at The Chart Room at Crosby in Osterville Harbor. Great lobster salad sandwiches on sliced Portuguese Bread. We ordered two sandwiches at $28 each and went home with half of one. Each sandwich contained an incredible amount of delicious lobster meat, and it would have been criminal to leave the uneaten half behind. These sandwiches were far superior to any lobster roll I've ever had. Service was friendly and prompt. We'll be back when we are next in a lobster mood. read more

Excellent seafood and the location, of being right on the water, is a added benefit. Food was fresh and the portion size was good. The staff on my visits going back to this summer was very good, attentive and good personalities. Always have had good waitresses on any of my visits also. I was there last night and had a similar experience with the wait staff as another reviewer. Staff huddled around hostess talking and ignoring the guests. I asked the Hostess if I could have a drink while I waited for my friend and she said "I'll get you a waitress" First, this is my pet peeve, is it too much to take my order and have someone go get it? The waitress stood around talking for 15 minutes before coming over and taking my drink order. The steamers-Horrible! I had heard this feedback at work and did not believe it as I had been before and had wonderful steamers and great service at the bar from Peter. Totally different experience this time. So sandy that I question if they were ever even rinsed, let alone soaked and they were so over cooked I couldn't eat them. I didn't bother to complain because nobody cared anyway. Solid option in a town that needs more restaurants (how many times can one go to 5 Bays or be turned back with a 2 hour wait at Crisp's?). Nice menu- nothing overly imaginative but covers all the bases. Good chowder, huge lobster rolls, well prepared seafood. Why only 3 stars? Restaurant is small and extremely hot as no AC, just fans (or at least during our visit). We arrived around 515 as did the table next to us and were given the lunch menu. I noticed it but since the lunch and dinner menu seemed the same didn't mention it to the hostess. The table next to us ordered steak tips from the lunch menu they were given for $16. They were billed, however, for the $22 steak tips on the dinner menu. When they asked about it the waitress acknowledged it was their mistake but "nothing we can do about it." Huh? read more

Came here on a Sunday night for a birthday dinner with a party of 5. We were told the wait would be around 45 mins - 1 hr. We finally were seated after an hour and a half. Our waitress asked for our drink orders and we told her that we'd also like to place our meal orders because we needed to travel home to Boston after our dinner. Our service from that point on was disappointing. We were not checked in on, and when we had to get up to ask our waitress for ketchup and mustard for a burger that someone in our party ordered, we were given a "NO" as if it were funny. Knowing that it was a busy Sunday night, and that most of your guests probably waited well over an hour like us, you really should not be joking around with you customers like this. Very disappointed as I have popped into the Chart Room several times this summer and was really looking forward to a nice dinner here. read more

We had dinner here last night. The entire staff was very friendly and attentive. We were seated at a table on the deck with a beautiful view of the marina. I ordered the blackened bass and my husband had the blackened swordfish which were both delicious. I recommend giving this restaurant a try, we will definitely be back. read more

Awful - waitstaff, and that's a VERY generous term, were utterly unprofessional - attitude of blank stares and "whatever" with a vapid smile, when they were not clustered giggling 4 deep at the hostess stand. Yes we asked the waitress what was up, only to be told "no one is really assigned to this table" and "I guess 'they're' backed up" - after 3 hours and some sub par food, including an awful salad (3 leftover ones tossed together?), we asked for the check and explained the service was not good (which should have been abundantly clear), and some food seemed to not be what was ordered/awful, inquired about management's presence and was told, "uh, okay" and check was dropped off 2 minutes later (with not a word except "goodnight") - and for the 1st and only time in our life we left 0 tip (and my husband's family is in the restaurant business) - called Manager when we returned home (again very unprofessional phone etiquette by staff) and needless to say it did not get much better - including a response to one of our experiences which was "I really don't believe that" ......ack! There is SO much better out there - will NOT be sending people to this amateur show. read more
