Very nice staff and efficient service! The oysters and drinks were good. The menu had a little too much fried food for my taste but I was still able to find a good option with the mussels. However, the sauce was a bit bland. There was a great view of the water and sunset even though it was too cold to sit outside

I'm convinced this is one of the best restaurants in Bar Harbor. We wandered in on a random Thursday afternoon to get a very late lunch. It was close to where we were staying, and we noticed it had a deck overlooking the water when we drove by. We had just come into town and were trying to get our bearings for the start of our trip. We were lucky enough to get Missy as our server. She was so incredibly with a big, friendly personality. If you choose to visit, I'd highly recommend you ask to sit in her section. We realized through her conversation with others, that there were several tourist regulars eating around us. She said one couple had been in town for two weeks and visited The Chart Room daily. There was another couple seated next to us that only ordered blueberry pie and coffee, then told their server they'd see him later as they'd be back for dinner time. That really says a lot about how good this restaurant is in my opinion. Obviously, being in Maine we had to try everything blueberry. The blueberry marg recommended by Missy was great! The real stand out though, was the blueberry pie. Truly, my husband and I agree, that it was the best dessert we've ever had. I can absolutely understand why people were returning and ordering just pie. We ended up coming back for dinner one night with the pie being our main motivation for dining here again! The food was also really good. I don't eat seafood and that's the bulk of most restaurant menus in Maine so unfortunately, I can't attest to how good it may have been. My food choices were more "boring", but still good. My salad was huge and tasty! My husband ordered the scallop special and while it was more expensive than he would've liked, he said it ended up being in the top 2 favorite meals he had during our vacation.

    Happy hour oysters

Came for oyster happy hour. $2 dollar oysters. The staff was incredibly kind and all offered their perspective how we could best enjoy our time. They suggested we have a drink by the ocean while we waited for happy hour to start. The oysters were fabulous! We didn't eat off the regular menu as we had no more room left but the menu looked delicious. Would absolutely recommend!

Excellent local place for lunch/dinner. PROs: Our server was Abby, and she was excellent. She had awesome service and professionally juggled multiple tables without missing a beat. We had crab cakes, baked haddock, & lobster Mac. All were amazing. The views and vibes were awesome as well. You can sit either inside or outside. Plenty of full bar options as well for you libations. CONs: Parking is a challenge during peak meal times. Bathrooms could get a slight update.

I will start by saying, if I am paying for bread, it should be something special and not snowflake rolls from a package that they charged $6.50 for. My French onion soup was fine, nothing to brag about. My ribeye steak wasn't great, but the potato and green beans were good. My husband ordered the prime rib, which he enjoyed very much. We ate in the dining room, but out back they had a nice deck area that appears to be well frequented and a great place to watch the sunset. Overall food in Bar Harbor was not great, so by the last night of our trip I was not surprised that we had yet another "just ok" meal.

I had been disappointed with my first lobster roll in Portland, but thought I'd give it another chance once we made it to Bar Harbor. On the menu they have a small lobster roll with kettle chips but I chose fries and a small bowl of clam chowder. They have a nice area in the back for outdoor dining. It was clean and comfortable. The lobster roll was perfect. The lobster was cold and the bun was warm and delicious. The clam chowder had nice chunks of clams and served with oyster crackers. Our server was attentive. It was a great experience and if we are ever in the area, we'll be back.

Heading into Bar Harbor we wanted a good dinner but didn't want to deal with the crowds. About 4 miles before heading into Bar Harbor this restaurant is on the main road on the water. It's a huge space. You can sit inside, or outside on the deck or pier. We chose to sit on the pier. It was a beautiful day and view. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly. We ordered the blueberry lemonade happy hour drink special and a dozen of the $2 oysters. The oysters were divine! For $2 each I could have eaten more. For dinner I had the Maine mussels in white wine, garlic, tomato served with baguettes. I've had mussels before and these were spectacular. The white wine sauce was incredible!! Every mussel was cooked perfect. Not one was closed. The flavor of the sauce distributed through out every mussel. Topped with the view and the amazing wait staff this meal was memorable.

We stopped in for a bite before a kayak tour. The views on the patio are great! My husband got the fried haddock sandwich and I got the bang bang shrimp with fries. We really enjoyed it!

A popular local establishment that lies right along the shoreline of Hulls Cove so the water views can change depending on the tide. Parking is limited due to being right along the highway so just slow down as you approach the restaurant. There is also a small parking area across the street just be careful crossing, especially at night. It is not well lit and traffic can be busy. This is a very popular site, so reservations are highly recommended. They utilize every area of the restaurant for seating and you can see most people enjoying the outdoor patios when the weather is nice. Seating in the enclosed or open patios are accessed in the back down a short steep walkway, I am not aware of this being accessible for wheelchairs. Their menu was varied and our first meal for dinner was enjoyed so much that we returned another day for lunch. Sauces could be a bit heavy but were full of flavor. What we had went well with the accompanying dish. Portions were generous and the seafood was fresh and well prepared. Dinner visit:9 5/5 Seafood linguine with a &delicious sherry flavored cream sauce. The shrimp and scallops were tender and for an additional price I was able to request some lobster to be added to this dish. 4/5 Baked Stuffed Haddock- my husband's dish which he enjoyed. The fish was baked just right and was fresh, moist and tender. Lunch visit: 4/5 Crab Dip- blend of crab, cheddar, seasoning and scallions served with crostinis. Served piping hot but the crostinis were tough to bite through and chewy. Definitely helped take the edge off of starving for food after a big hike. 5/5 Clam Chowder- creamy New England style had a smooth and texture. Not grainy and the clams were readily present and tender. 5/5 Beaten Goat salads, arugula with candied walnuts, diced beets, goat cheese with raspberry vinaigrette. I added lobster to my salad and the husband added grilled tuna to his. 5/5 Blueberry pie- baked in house with Maine blueberries that just burst with flavor despite their tiny size. If I were a local I would designate this restaurant as one of my go to stops. It is an older establishment and they preserve the old style recipes. If you are looking for lighter more upscale or modern dishes you best go somewhere else.

Very popular restaurant with a nice view. We went for the happy hour oysters, $2 each. It is only from 4-5pm and sitting at the bar. So you need to be quick to grab a sit. Delicious oysters!!

This place is definitely worth more than its cumulative 3.5 stars, so we are giving the old 5-star boost. This lunch was practically perfect. Drinks were delicious, oysters were awesome, mains were great as was our server. And, the view...magnificent! Thank you for being open and making it such a lovely Labor Day!

    Blonde oysters! Yum!

Best lobster roll around. We enjoyed the blueberry pie as well as the blueberry crisp. We voted pie over crisp, but we all have sweet teeth!

This might have been the best meal we had on our trip to Maine!…read more A lot of restaurants weren't open yet but we came across this one. We were originally only going to order some small plates , but the one entree with fried chicken looked like something my husband would really like. Cocktails were great. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful , he answered my questions. The lobster bisque was delicious, and I liked that it had a tempura lobster garnish and the caviar in it was a nice touch too. The tempura wasn't as crispy as I would have liked it , I think only the end part was, but still very good soup. We also got some oysters which were great with the sauces on the side. I ended up getting the halibut, which I never get at a restaurant- but it was so good! With the wakame butter, bok choy, pork belly, and sticky rice. All the flavors worked so well together! Husband got the Cantonese chicken- which was delicious as well. Very crispy, flavorful. We were so stuffed afterwards otherwise we would have got dessert. We ended up taking some Togo even though we had to drive for hours the next day. We put it in a cooler and ate some for lunch cold and it was still good. We had a great meal- i definitely recommended it.

Where do I even begin. We should have walked out the moment we opened the menu and saw that every…read moresingle dish reads like a fever dream written by someone who just discovered the word "umami" and lost their mind entirely. Every fish is paired with meat. In a lobster town. Truffle aioli on a lobster roll are we in 1987? The apps arrived and the nausea followed immediately. My wedge salad had sweet blue cheese dressing I didn't know that was possible, but here we are -- with a random glob of whole grain mustard on top. For what reason? No one knows. My daughter ordered the pork belly and scallops. The scallops arrived the color of miniature marshmallows not a single sear on them, just pale, flaccid little jellies sliding around the plate. My husband ordered the garlic shrimp which inexplicably contained olives, capers, rock-hard chorizo, and a salty broth. The bread course: three pieces of sourdough for $12. One of the butters was sweet. My sister's salmon arrived on two separate piles of colored gloop one green, one reddish pink decorated with little ornamental dots in a plating style that I haven't seen for 20 years. Something on the plate was allegedly broccoli slaw. It was large, cold, oxidized florets with brown edges that no one touched. My husband's filet came with beet mashed potatoes that were ice cold and inedible, and a steak so chewy it couldn't be cut and was raw in the middle. My daughter's seafood pasta arrived in what I can only describe as a glop of beige glue with fish suspended inside it. It looked like oatmeal that had absorbed the ocean. She was given a cracker and a fork, which I assume was meant to be ironic. I canceled my entrée after the apps. When we asked our server where the halibut was from, he said "I think it's fresh." When we asked about the salmon, he said "I think the Atlantic Ocean, but I'm not sure." That was the end of that conversation. We are well-traveled. We live in New York City. I am a chef and my sisters husband is a chef. We have eaten all over the world. This was the single worst meal any of us has ever had in our collective lives. Every dish had no fewer than 47 ingredients, none which complimented each other. The owner seemed genuinely shocked when we explained what had happened, which was perhaps the most alarming part. He refunded us, and we appreciated that. But the refund did not cover my daughter spending the night sick. Hire a new chef. Write a new menu. Edit ruthlessly. Less is more. A lobster in Bar Harbor does not need truffle aioli!!It needs butter maybe some lemon? We were absolutely shocked this place has good reviews.

We had a wedge salad to start which was served a bit differently with their house-made vinaigrette. My husband chose the lobster enchiladas with rice and veggies and a cilantro cream sauce. These were VERY good and I was jealous. I loved them. I chose the fish of the day which was haddock with rice and veggies and a pesto sauce that was SO good! Very fresh and filling. Large filet of fish on this plate. For dessert, I wanted to try the Indian Pudding a la mode and our server informed me that it was very rich and was somewhat like pumpkin pie, ginger cookies and bread pudding. It was something different, but VERY potent and a bit much for us. We swapped it out for the blueberry apple crumble and were much happier with that. All in all, a wonderful dinner on a rainy night for my birthday. We'd happily come back to this spot for a date night while in town.
