Came here for Winterlicious. Nice place, very romantic inside. I forgot my reading glasses at home and I can't see the menu (with candles on the table still I can't read) and the kind staff brought a small table lamp for me. Thank you. The bread (appetizer) is to die for, it's crunchy outside and soft inside. All that we ordered tastes good. Friendly staff. Beautiful decor, elegant inside.

Very beautiful restaurant located in the heart of the financial district. Food I would say is mediocre but expected for the financial district. Restaurants and pricing is commensurately there (i.e. expensive). Ordered the black cod, fish, miso and several apps and sides. Honestly nothing was bad but nothing was particularly good. Restaurant is beautifully renovated and on the 5th floor with a beautiful patio.

Located on the fifth floor of a high-rise, this restaurant offers an outdoor seating option with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, providing a stunning, open view. The lighting is deliberately dim, seemingly designed for intimate romantic evenings. Service is notably superior to Reign, both in professionalism and warmth. Thoughtful details, such as a designated coat-hanging area, add to the experience. Once you've made your decision, the staff affirms it with subtle compliments, enhancing the sense of hospitality. Every dish is meticulously plated, with tableware arranged with precision. The restaurant manager frequently circulates the floor, ensuring seamless operations. Sunchoke Soup The sunchoke delivers a flavor profile reminiscent of buttery mashed potatoes, with the soup itself offering a delicate sweetness. A layer of shaved truffle adds earthy aroma and textural contrast, while a drizzle of olive oil introduces fruity notes and a subtle peppery kick, elevating the complexity of flavors. What surprised me most was the fraîche crème at the center. The contrast between chilled cream and hot soup creates an exciting temperature interplay, while the cream itself contributes a tangy brightness and velvety richness. Beneath it, a sunchoke purée offers an even lighter, airier take on potato purée. Among soups, this one truly stands out. Lamb Saddle The lamb is exceptionally tender and well-seasoned, a stark contrast to the steak at Reign. Both pieces come with crisped skin, reminiscent of Peking duck's crackling exterior. The sauce is deeply concentrated, pairing well with the parsnip purée and a Provençal vegetable ragout. A standout element is the phyllo-wrapped parcel, filled with braised lamb shoulder. It delivers a more intense lamb flavor than the saddle itself, with the crisp pastry adding a delightful crunch. The dish excels in flavor layering, but its biggest flaw is richness overload--even with the parsnip's natural sweetness acting as a counterbalance, the saddle, braised lamb, and sauce all lean heavily into richness. Much like red-braised pork belly, no matter how good, it can become overwhelming after a few bites. Coconut Sorbet This dessert stole my heart. Compared to traditional ice cream, the sorbet is silkier, with a flavor blend of praline and coconut, though praline's bright, caramelized sweetness takes center stage. Shaved coconut flakes are sprinkled on top, enhancing chewiness and adding a whisper of tropical leafiness. The sweetness is well-balanced, never cloying. Two generous scoops disappeared in no time. Overall Impression Every dish delivered an element of surprise, making for an exceptional dining experience. While portions might not be the most filling, this is undoubtedly one of the finest date-night restaurants. From ambiance to service to execution, everything scores high marks. Compared to Reign, the distinction in hospitality and attention to detail is undeniable.

Caramelized Banana and Ginger Cake

I had no idea this restaurant was here in the Financial District, but I'm glad I found it because it is a bit of a pseudo hidden gem. The Chase is an upscale restaurant with a specialty in seafood, they even have a raw bar menu! The restaurant has a super aesthetic and chic interior and its location makes for a great place for a nice business lunch or dinner. FOOD (4.5/5) I ordered the Grilled Branzino as a main, had the Brussel Sprouts and Fries as shared sides, and the Caramelized Banana and Ginger Cake for dessert. The branzino is served with swiss chards and a zucchini puree. The swiss chards and puree didn't really feel like anything special and was a bit underseasoned. However, the branzino itself was superb! Crispy skin, tender and flaky meat, light glaze and well seasoned! I initially wanted to order the Miso Glazed Black Cod but could not justify the $23 premium over the branzino. The branzino satisfied what I was looking for in a cooked grilled fish dish. As for the sides, the fries were standard cut (not shoestring nor wedges) and were seasoned with truffle parm and a side of aioli. The brussel sprouts were roasted topped with a sweet cider gastrique/glaze and crispy shallot bits. Really recommend the brussel sprouts to share with the table! I typically enjoy any sort of banana-based dessert, but I was a bit skeptical how the ginger was going to fit in. I'm so happy I still decided to order it because it was a perfect balance of everything. The cake has a mild sweetness and spiciness from the ginger, akin to how cinnamon is in other desserts. It was topped with half a caramelized banana, cream cheese icing dollops, and a crisp to add textural contrast. The dish was surrounded with a caramel-esque sauce that you can swirl every bite with. This was a perfect dessert for the fall time, embodying warm ginger and coffee notes, moist cake, and sweet caramelized banana and caramel. Highly recommend! AMBIENCE (5/5) You have to take an elevator to the 5th floor where you'll be greeted with the hostess stand. There is a enclosed balcony 'patio' that would be fantastic for summer time brunches. Around the corner is the bar then the main dining area which is decorated with modern but eloquent furniture and plenty of natural light. VALUE (4/5) Although on the pricier end, the service and quality of food is noticeable. A big part of the dining experience is the interior and having and almost panoramic view over Yonge St and tons of light. A good option to take clients without breaking the bank too much. LOCATION (5/5) Located in the heart of the financial district on Temperance (between Queen and King stations) it is very commutable and walkable. The main entrance is down a little alley beside the Chop Hop and is served via an elevator so is accessibility friendly as well. Parking, like any downtown spot, would be pricier. OVERALL (4.5/5) I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at The Chase that came with good service, nice vibes and ambience, and great tasting food. I'm curious if the evening becomes an intimate date night spot, or if it still feels more corporate-y given it's location. In any case, I will definitely return for a future business occasion.

Toffee cake

The Chase is a gorgeous venue giving a comfortable but upscale feel. I could probably write an entire paragraph just on the crispy cauliflower (I wish I could have that with every meal it was so good) and we also enjoyed the ñ the avocado and lobster starter, the halibut dish (which was excellent all around), the miso glazed cod (the fish was fantastic, the greens accompanying it left something to be desired), and the toffee cake was the perfect sweet to balance the meal!! I will say our server went from helicopter mom which was made it difficult to fully enjoy the meal to nowhere to be found when we were ready for the bill. I really enjoyed the mocktail options as one of us is a non-drinker. Would absolutely return!

What a fabulous team dinner for 7 of us to celebrate our great work! Everything was wonderful but the focaccia was unbelievably crisp and flavorful. The octopus was perfectly tender. Everyone loved the strip loin and my lobster pasta was amazing! Thank you for a great night!

We just went for a drink after walking past The Chase. The space is cute and it's sort of a rooftop which is nice! We enjoyed the space and the drinks!

The ambiance is amazing. My husband and I were sat on the outside cover patio for our lunch. It was snowing so it looked like a winter wonderland. The food was amazing and presented very eloquently. Perfect for my birthday celebration. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.

Went for an event. This is kind of hidden in an alley near the corner. It has standing and seating space. Good mix I thought. Food was good, some delicious particularly the crab roll. They also opened their rooftop patio. Cool evening heaters on, it was a beautiful evening. Service is friendly.

OYSTERS

The bae surprised me with dinner at The Chase. It was both our first time here & everything was absolutely delicious. I love the romantic vibes and ambiance. . . . 1/2 dozen oysters 4/5 ($28) Focaccia 4/5 ($14) Lobster Tagliatelle 5/5 ($55 - MP) Lamb 4/5 ($68) $$$$ . . Absolutely enjoyed all the foods we ordered! I'm not a oyster eater at all, but I tried the raw oysters & they were super fresh! Focaccia bread was so so yummy and it tasted so heavenly with the whipped butter. My entrée... the lobster tagliatelle was a GAME CHANGER. Lobster was cooked perfectly, pasta was the perfect texture and the cream sauce was so flavourful. It was probably the best pasta I've had. My bf's lamb was also cooked well and seasoned perfectly, but portions were way too small. Overall we loved our dinner & enjoyed our date night so much.

This is one of those rare cases where the reality lives up to reputation. Most of the food here is exceptional - I would definitely recommend selecting their seafood based dishes, which arrived to the praise of the whole table. The appetizers and sides were slightly disappointing, if only because they were so highly priced. Service is, of course, faultless. A really, really beautiful place! Modern but not cold, the ambience would be lovely for a quiet lunch or a celebratory dinner. The elevator might need an upgrade though - the dimly lit cubicle didn't seem to quite fit the restaurant's image. :P

Steak tartare and a glass of chianti!

This is a beautiful restaurant right in the financial district. The decor is chic and the layout is very functional. It definitely caters to a business crowd, and everyone was very well dressed when we came in for a work lunch. We had drinks, the agnolotti, steak tartare, and fries for the table. The food was solid but wasn't really memorable. I'd likely come back for a work meal but might look elsewhere if I fancied going out for food with friends. Gorgeous though!

We've been to The Chase a few times but it was my first time on the rooftop. Service was amazing! Our server had great personality who had a good humour and attentive to our needs. The rest of the team was also lovely. We had to take our toddler for a tour to distract him before the food arrived. Everyone including the Food Runners, Expediters and Bartenders greeted my son and gave him pounds as we walked by. It's these small gestures that show how trained and engaged the staff is. Food was good, highlights were the crab appetizer and truffle fries. Definitely not a cheap dinner but you are paying for the ambiance, decor and service. Our Server surprised us with desserts because she knew we were celebrating. What a kind gesture! Dining environment was sophisticated, warm and cosy (we had a booth). Safety protocols were in place, every table was well spaced out. We had a lovely dinner thanks to the team!

If you want quality seafood, this place is a must go. Service is not that great & a bit slow. Recommend the lobster roll.

Forreal though, the run Soho House had can only be rivaled by 2011-2015 Whole Foods. You really had to be there... but like any other prime, Father Time always catches up. I was set to do a full rise and fall piece on the Soho House right here on Yelp but in my research, I stumbled upon an article by Lydia Moynihan in the NY Post and she nailed it. I really didn't have much to add so go over and read that if you have a sec. Shoutout to Lydia. Instead, I'll just recap our experience here like any other boring Yelp Review. We came to this Toronto location before the Taylor Swift concert, and I was pleasantly surprised. It felt like prime Soho House. A beautiful, discrete brick building with an old school interior. Whoever designed this one needs a raise. I'm so tired of the cookie cutter half-assed modern architecture. The ones in LA and NY now feel like it is just a bunch of dorks trying to be seen by God knows who. There is no soul in those locations. We grabbed a drink in the lobby and went upstairs for our 5pm dinner. I domed a couple of negronis and we split a margherita pizza and a bottle of pinot noir before our mains arrived. I got the rigatoni, per the waitresses recommendation because she had a thick Italian accent. Big truss. She wasn't lying either, that rigatoni went crazy. I took like 30 pictures before a staff member came over and said no pictures, as I didn't know that was still a rule here... please don't beat me up. We closed dinner with a couple espresso martinis before setting off on foot to go see Big Tay put on a show. She really did her thing. Thank you Soho House Toronto, for giving me a taste of what the Soho House used to be in the states. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

The food is meh and it feels like this place simply exists for indie film and local television producers to feel like they are a part of some scene.
