OK YES. YES. YES. ALL THE WAY YES. Let me just say that this truck was outside our place last night. I was feelin fancy and wanted to celebrate my taking a new job and take my big poppa out. So ya know, looked outside and we decided...lets look at the reviews. I read the reviews, there aren't a whole bunch, but they were all SOLID, EXTREMELY GREAT reviews. So I think...hmmm it's either really good or these are fake reviews. LET ME TELL YA... IT'S REAL! I'm not even a huge chicken fan, but everything about this was freaking amazing. The mac and cheese was 100+, the fries were 100+ and the chicken was 100+. Thick pieces of chicken but the best part was just their crunchiness. WTF are they putting in there? Brown sugar for sure. I saw that...but whatever it is, it was finger-licking good! I got the mild spice, BF got the hot. The cashier was helpful and friendly, chicken made fresh to order - you can see him battering up those dang things. CRISPY PERFECTION. Seriously, don't sleep on this truck. GO THERE! I will most def get them again next time they are around, but get an extra thing of mac and cheese. Truffle mac? YES PLEASE. $36 with tip. 2 combo platters. BF got chicken tender plate and I got the combo sandwich with the mac on the side. I went to bed happy, full and fat...and I woke up thinking about this place. CRUNCHADELIC!

    Sand which with two tenders.

The Chicken Coop is an a-ok food truck that makes various stops around the Twin Cities. While their hot chicken isn't quite as good as the real deal chicken you can get from places like Hattie B's in Nashville, it does a descent job emulating it. The sandwich was particularly good; their aioli really finishes it off nicely. There were two things we a bit disappointed about. The first was that the hotness level did not really match their description. We tried medium, which one of the cooks said would burn "for an hour or two," but it was super mild, with barely any heat. The second was that they would only let us add one extra piece of chicken to our meal (it came with one already, and we wanted a total of three). They initially said this was because there wasn't room for more than one extra piece in the box (there was plenty of room), but then changed to saying "you should really order another meal if you want more chicken." We didn't want to do that since one meal's worth of french fries is more than enough for two people, and when we asked if we could sub anything for the fries, they said no. So, basically, you are locked into getting a huge mountain of fries if you want enough chicken for two people, which really doesn't seem very customer friendly. Other than the two issues above, we mostly liked our meal from the Chicken Coop, and appreciated how they were wearing masks and trying to keep everything clean.

Owner custom made me a vegetarian/vegan friendly substitute chicken sandwich

By far the best Nashville chicken sandwich in the streets of LA!! If you have not yet tried it, you must!! The Mac and cheese is to die for!! Best Mac and cheese I've ever had in my whole entire life! It's sooo cheesy with a twist of truffle fries are done perfect! Sauces are also bomb. My food did not stand a chance. Almost instantly after finishing my food, I wanted more!!!

Chicken sandwich was ok, but a bit on the pricy side for what it's worth. I'd rather chicken bodega, to be honest

I ordered the quarter bird with mild spice, fries, and banana pudding. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the mild spice level was perfect for me. It had a little kick without being too spicy. The fries were really good and seasoned well. I also enjoyed the banana pudding, which was a nice sweet treat after the meal. One thing that stood out to me was how friendly the employees were. Even though it was busy, they were welcoming and provided great customer service, which made the experience even better. Overall, I had a great experience. Between the delicious food and the friendly staff, I can see why so many people recommend this place. I'd definitely come back again when I'm craving hot chicken.

Winner Winner Chicken errr... Lunch…read more So we are always skeptical if there is way too much hype surrounding a eatery. However in the case of Howlin Ray's the hype is justified. The staff were super friendly and on point The Food: (A word on heat. They have 6 levels from Country with none to Howlin. We can take a decent amount of heat. I went medium and my son went hot. The medium was just the right balance with a nice burn especially on the back end. The next level, hot, was also really good and hit close to our limit) The Sando: a nice sized chicken breast perfectly fried. The chicken was moist but well cooked and the batter was seasoned perfectly. The slaw added a nice crunch to things, the comeback sauce added richness and the pickles added a brinney crunch to offset the goodness. The bun put up a valiant effort but about of the way through it gave up and the Sando became a fork affair. The Slaw: It was just okay, on the sando it was perfect, on its own, just okay The Macaroni Salad: Glorious, simply glorious. Whatever spicing they were using with the fries seemed evident here giving it a reddish hue. The the bits of dill, onions, and pickles helped balance the whole thing perfectly. This would be right at home on a North Shore plate lunch. Shake Fries: Perfectly fired crinkle fries shaken in that spicing they use. Dipped in the comeback sauce or on their own they were awesome. Banana Pudding: OMG so good. With the traditional vanilla wafer on top. Rich and luscious it was a perfect end to the meal. The only downside? This location is small and if you want to eat there there are only a few tables. Parking also sucked. Those thinks aside excellent place

The service was subpar compared to what some of the other reviewers said, the owner essentially told us to pick a table and pretty much left us to our own devices. The food took a while as well--we got the half and half. The soy was alright, nothing too spectacular. The other one was some kind of sweet, cherry (?) jam thing that didn't go well with the chicken at all. It felt like it was just thrown in, and there was wayyy too much of that jam. Neither of us liked it. The whole meal wasn't worth what we paid for. Overall ambiance was okay, very dark inside contrasted by the tvs he had of kpop groups performing.

Happies is located in Arts District and I came here on a Sunday dinner and didn't have any problems with parking. But, I can see how it might be hard to find if you come during peak hours. The restaurant was pretty empty. First thing I noticed was that there were tons of employees but no one really said anything. Since there was no one ordering, they were all standing around. You can just order at the kiosk but I wanted to ask a few questions but was kind of left to fend for myself. I ended up ordering the chicken tenders and chicken tenders with salad. I thought the restaurant ambience was nice. And after waiting for about 10 minutes, my order came out. They gave me extra sauce but again no explanation on why the extra sauce was provided. As for the food, I thought the chicken was kind of bland. I expected some Sichuan style but hardly any spice on the chicken. Once of the sauces was a Sichuan chili crisp, which gave the chicken more taste. Maybe the chicken was bland because I was supposed to dip it in the sauces? Aside from that, the other sauces were average (ranch and sweet/sour sauce). The salad was definitely a huge miss. They didn't dress the salad properly and only put dressing on top, so I just got a bunch of romaine lettuce at the end. The best part of my meal was the fries, which was crispy and fresh. Also, the fries were pretty generous. I think that the food was just average. Probably will not come back here but glad I came to check out what the hype was about.

Visited for the first time in April 2026 :)…read more The Food (!!!): - HOLY MOLY. Excellent chicken sandwich, but the corn ribs IMO were the star of the show (but this is coming from someone who really, really loves a good corn on the cob). - The corn ribs were flavorful, well-seasoned, and super juicy!! And the portion was definitely more than it looks, especially when eaten alongside the sandwich! - The chicken sandwich was equally full of flavor. The chicken was tender in the center and crispy on the edges in the best way. The coleslaw inside was fresh, and the buns were nice and soft! The marinade used for the chicken leans a little sweet, so if that's your jam then you'll like this sandwich. (Personally I prefer a more savory profile, hence my personally ranking the corn ribs #1.) :) Parking: - Parking is tough for the area; it took us a while to find a spot. We ended up street parking a few blocks away and walking over. Dining in: - The line got long QUICK and there was a constant stream of orders (both for dine-in and carry-out) while we were eating there. There's also minimal seating in the restaurant itself, just a few tables available--so be prepared for that as well! - Design, branding, and interior aesthetic were all nice and cohesive; I appreciated looking at it all while we dined. :) All in all, wouldn't mind coming by again!

There's no way this is the "best chicken sando in LA" not by a mile!…read more This is gentrified chicken at its finest. Surprised they need a chef to make this. I can make better tasting chicken with my eyes closed and arms wrapped behind my back. Chicken had ZERO flavor. I mean ZERO. Super bland, some salt would have helped it out very much so. Then again they have all those sauces for a buck each to compensate for the flavor that disappeared somewhere down the prep line. Coleslaw on top did absolutely no justice. That could have used some love too. Where is all the flavor? No seriously. I just watched Jacks diner and blakesmunchies on IG before I ordered my sando and was like Ffffuh yeah. Then when it came zero comparison to reviewers who got payed to boast their revenue. Total sham. Major scam. Now SCRAM! No seriously, you should see the size of the sandwiches these guys are eating then look at yours. How typical. These IG reviewers really know how and who they need to target to get people into the door. It's such a crazy industry, almost fool proof. A "great logo", neutral colors, decent variety of products and last 1k-5-10k review fees to bring in an X amount of sales. The corn bread was the size of a Twinkie. The only thing I can say that was decently flavored was the Mac n cheese. Yet it's due to the nostalgic yellow gooey cheese like sauce that made it into some delectable. This place is truly mid and lacking proper service. Utensils were left out after asking for them cause obviously they want you to eat the Mac n cheese with either your hands or a sauce lid. Sub par, nothing special, can't emphasize on that enough. I'm out!

The chicken had a nice kick to it, so if you're sensitive to spice, you may want to consider one of the milder options. I enjoyed the heat, but it was definitely noticeable. The bowls were a good size and came with plenty of food. The combination of the spicy chicken, sweet yams, and charred broccoli worked really well together and made for a satisfying lunch. It was one of those meals that managed to be both healthy and tasty, which is harder to find than it should be. If you're dining in, you can also ask them to substitute the rice, making it an even better option for those looking for a lower-carb, high-protein meal. The guacamole was another standout. It tasted freshly made, was well seasoned, and paired perfectly with the chips. I kept looking at the half chickens coming out of the kitchen and will probably try one next time, but the Chicken Tinga bowl was substantial enough that I didn't feel like I was missing out. Good portions, fresh ingredients, plenty of protein, and very reasonable prices. Everything we ordered was enjoyable, and I'd gladly come back to try more of the menu.
