I've heard nothing but great things about Chimneys and finally got to give it a try for Easter dinner. Our family decided to take a break from cooking this year and support our local Chimney's and we're so glad we did! Service was excellent and we received a personalized note thanking us for our business signed by each of the staff members. Green Beans: 3/5 Perfectly cooked with almonds but just needed a bit more flavor. Not bad just average! Salad: 3/5 Salad seemed very basic but was actually pretty good! Some cucumber and tomatoes were a little soggy but the lettuce and onions were crisp and the croutons added lots of added flavor and crunch. My MIL made her homemade dressing which amped up the salad to the next level. Roasted Veggies: 3/5 I was thankful for this simple and fresh side side dish. Not super flavorful and a bit mushy but I wouldn't expect these to be super crisp after being packaged and traveling. I would have thought that these were steamed rather than roasted. Roasted Potatoes: 3/5 Again not super flavorful and a bit mushy but I'll attribute that to having traveled. I'd consider these to be more similar to baked potatoes rather than roasted since they were firm yet soft without any char. Tossed in parmesan but needed a bit of salt and pepper! Grouper Plate: 4/5 Fresh grouper, shrimp, and crab meat in a not so flavorful butter sauce. Again because it wasn't served fresh I'm being a bit more gracious and taking that into consideration. The remoulade sauce on the side gave it that extra punch of flavor we were searching for. Potato Casserole: 4/5 Potatoes smothered in cheese. Like soooo much cheese. Nuff said. Deviled Eggs: 4/5 Surprisingly fresh and delicious! Pork Loin: 5/5 By far the biggest hit of the meal! So much flavor and so moist! It was tangy and sweet topped with sautéed ginger and an incredible ginger sauce. Amazing! After having had their food to go I am all the more eager to try it fresh in the restaurant. Came here for a bridal brunch. The menu was set for us so I didn't get to eat anything off of the regular menu, but I still enjoyed my meal. Their mimosas were delicious, and the service was nice and prompt. We started with a mixed greens salad with choice of their house ranch or balsamic vinaigrette. I enjoyed both dressings. The ranch has a salmon pink hue to it, perhaps from a dash of hot sauce. I liked it a lot. We then had chicken penne pasta which needed a bit more salt but was the right amount of creaminess and the pasta was cooked well. There was also a standard fruit and cheese plate that I liked. There were some shrimp puff pastries that you could easily pop into your mouth. I could've eaten a whole tray. I didn't try any dessert but there looked to be a brownie topped with marshmallows and a cheesecake. Everyone who ate it enjoyed it. The Chimneys is a very clean establishment with excellent service and a beautiful view; however the food is extremely average if not actually bad. My guest and myself ordered the filet and ribeye steak, both medium, but when they arrived, both steaks were completely well done. I'm not one to send incorrect food back, but both steaks were almost inedible. After about a 15 minute wait, the replacement steaks arrived and were still very close to being well done. This time we just stuck with the overcooked steaks. My ribeye was tough, and the filet had an extremely overwhelming flavor of Worcestershire sauce. The new potatoes side was overpowered by garlic and the asparagus was undercooked. The cocktails we ordered left allot to be desired and the salads were missing the croutons. All in all, I would say visit The Chimneys for the view, not the food. read more

OMG! This place is a treasure! My husband and I just happened to be staying next-door at the Courtyard Marriott and walked over and we were blown away. The staff is super friendly (especially Madeline), the view is great, but most importantly the food is out of this world delicious! The martinis were also very good. The soup of the day was amazing. COVID-19 Review. So, despite being one of the foods known to be from Mississippi, it was really hard to find Mississippi mud pie during the two days we were in Mississippi. We called so many different restaurants and the only one that had it was The Chimneys which was on our way to Mobile so The Chimney's it is! We initially were just going to get it to go and eat in the car, but when we got to the restaurant and saw that it was across from the Gulf, and the tremendously hospitable hostess encouraged us to have our dessert on the patio... we just couldn't pass up the opportunity! Granted, it was night so we couldn't actually see the water, but the feel of the restaurant so elegantly lit at night and the outdoor patio was truly a romantic place to be seated. I felt like I was on a film set. We ordered the mud pie and decided to get a couple more desserts (lemon pie, creme brulee) and some coffees as we were still going to travel to Tallahassee that night. Of the desserts, I truly enjoyed the mud pie the most. So.... my wife, mother, and I all remember having this dessert at Red Robin or somewhere which was really tall with mocha ice cream etc. and at first was confused when the dessert came out looking like a brownie. However, after doing some quick research on the internet, The Chimneys makes a Mississippi Mud Pie that is authentic to the original recipe and it was delicious! A shout out to the lemon pie which was a crowd pleaser in my family as well. Creme brulee was good as well, but that can be found at most restaurants and this one wasn't different from the standard. Coffee went well with all the desserts and was a great cup of coffee. Not bitter or burnt tasting at all. So, the service. Like I mentioned before, the hostess was perfect. She was so accommodating and truly a lovely person. Sadly, the woman who brought out the desserts and coffee had spilled a good portion of the coffee into the saucers. Although she apologized, I should think proper service is to replace the coffees with ones not mostly spilled but that didn't occur to her and we were in a bit of a hurry anyhow. Also, it took longer than it should have to present the bill considering we only ordered a few desserts and coffee. So I take a whole star off for this reason. This was the best restaurant I have been to in Gulfport, MS! The atmosphere was perfect. The dinning room was clean. The food was out of this world. I ordered the Cajun Redfish and my girlfriend ordered the fried shrimp. Both meals were perfect. My waitress was kind and professional. I can't brag enough about this restaurant! I was able to ask my girl to be my girlfriend on the most perfect and romantic atmosphere. If I am ever in Gulfport again, I will be eating here again for sure. 5 stars! read more

All around great place, the food, the atmosphere, the staff. They had a line at the door right at 11... good thing we made reservations! We came on a Sunday morning for brunch and it did not disappoint. The mimosas were fantastic, as well as the shrimp and grits with eggs and bacon. Wow. I could not have been more pleased. Only thing keeping it from a 5 is that it was super loud the morning we went, it felt like I could barely hear the people down the table from me. We all thought it might have been better if a window or two was open to alleviate the echo chamber it seemed to be. Other than that it was wonderful! Would love to come again if I have the chance. Friend and I were in Gulfport and were looking for a place for brunch. We are goofy and didn't realize that no one brunches on Tuesdays. So we were a little disappointed that we didn't get to partake in the $5 unlimited mimosas and champagne. Oh well! We were seated right away. Everyone was very friendly. We had the artichoke dip with crab meat. So good. The little toasts were perfect. Crunchy but still soft so you don't crumble and spill all over yourself. So good. Then we both had the Cajun Redfish with Asparagus. So yummy. Blackened and not overpowering. Great sauces. Then we had the creme brûlée and key lime pie. The key lime pie was delicious and not too sweet but not too tart. And it's not neon green so you know it's good quality. We both also had drinks. I was originally going to get the dark and stormy but they were out of ginger beer. Instead I had a berry drink called Honey Berry and my friend had the Caucasian (a White Russian essentially). This is a solid choice for brunch in a pretty dining room with a nice view. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could, as I'm between "A-OK" and "Yay!" Because my mom was visiting and she'd never had beignets, we selected the pastry basket, and the server requested that we get all of those little treats. These were more dense than I was expecting, though, like a cross between a cake donut and a biscuit. Out of the entrees, the trout sardou was the best. I'd put the seafood omelet and crab cakes Benedict below that. As I find often to be the case at local brunches, it proved a little difficult to get a nicely-poached egg. Maybe people complain about perfectly runny yolks? Out of the sides, we preferred the slightly tangy (goat cheese) grits over the potatoes, which were pretty run-of-the-mill. Next time, I'll either go with the trout or perhaps try the grits and grillades. All-in-all, we thought this was a reasonable value for the champagne and the generous portions. My mom really liked the dining room and the view, so it was a great choice for a northern visitor. She especially loved the grits--she can't really get those at home anywhere. I wouldn't recommend this place for small children. The crowd seemed to mostly consist of locals, though again I think many visitors to the area would like it. read more

My spouse and I have visited The Chimneys for over ten years, today we came from Baton Rouge looking forward to another good experience. Whoa, what happened to this place. First, for what has always been an upscale restaurant, the hostess was dressed in jeans and casual shirt, come on guys let's have some standards. Second, when the appetizer arrived ( delicious stuffed mushrooms), the server didn't bring plates to eat them on. Third, the Amberjack with a topping I ordered came, it was a godawful mess of slop on top of a piece of dried out fish. My spouse had better luck with her stuffed flounder, but was disappointed that the same stuffing we received in the mushrooms did not carry over to the flounder. Fourth, when the server asked how things were, I indicated I thought it was only fair ( deaf ears). Maybe we caught them on a bad night, but it seems that The Chimneys is moving in the direction of most beach restaurants on the coast, OK but not memorable. read more

Been here a lot over the years, but tonight was disappointing. It was my wife's 60th b'day, she wanted to go to Chimneys. Made a reservation Monday. Our name was not there when we checked in although they had a reservation in another name for 3, so we figured must be us. I told the hostess that it was her 60th b'day. She said oh yes we will do champagne for toast and complimentary dessert. Sounds great! Server comes over; never introduced himself, 0 personality. Told him as well that we had a big celebration tonight; he barely nodded. Food was just OK. My medium tuna was well done, rest of food was good, not great. Waiter never once interacted with us. Just barely went through the motions. The "vibe" was not there from anyone. Watched the bartender wash all the glasses and set them neatly on the bar. Then she is "sanitizing" the menus and all the overspray is going all over the "clean" glassware. No telling what chemicals are now all over the glasses. If the stupid COVID doesn't t kill us I guess Clorox will. If the waiter had engaged at all, the rest of the night would have been ok. Pretty disappointing all in all. read more

Not cheap but you are paying to eat at a nice place with water views...it does come with one complimentary champagne glass. Okay. Food wise, I ordered the seafood omelette and wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. Both were horrible. Potatoes burnt and very scant. Omelette DRY DRY with no seasoning. Sauce broken and has no salt. Absolutely not worth 5 dollars. Would recommend eating at home or finding another restaurant. Sorry you gotta do better for 20/plate. Bignet 6/10. Dense and bite size each. I usually do not complain but this is a very uneasy experience on a "Valentine day". I did make resevation at 7pm and I arrived at 6:45pm. All 7pm guest were seated including many people who come after 7pm. Our group was seated at 7:20pm. We were put to seat outside the patio in cold wind and rain close to those trees. We saw two or more table are opened inside. The sweet lady at the entrance told us she would do anything to resolve the problem, but not able to let our group sit inside. We were just not dress warm enough to seat out the cold weather. After 5mins in the cold my 76 years old mom start sneezing. We choose to left Chimney WITHOUT eating our Valentine dinner. We were very disappointed. We will never forget this Valentine day experience that Chimneys gave us. I received a call from the resterant and apologize to our experience later. Even send us an coupon without expectation from me. They are showing sincerity to correct their problems. I do think they have correct attitude to run a good business. read more

My husband and I were making our way to Biloxi and decided to stop at The Chimneys for Sunday brunch. We walked in an they did not have any open tables. So we ended up sitting at the bar (we failed at the reservation part - probably required on the weekend) and the bartender was super sweet. We both ordered an entree which you can order bottomless mimosas $5 with purchase of entree during brunch. We had mentioned it was our anniversary and she offered to give us a drink on the house (not normally done!). We picked out the Cuban - it included tequila, lime, sugar and water. It was a new beverage on their menu so we gave the bartender some feedback but the drink almost seemed like it had too much water. I ordered the seafood omelette which was really good. If you're not a fan of seafood flavors this probably is not the right choice for you. Potatoes were extra crispy which is ok as I don't like greasy potatoes. I dipped them in a little ketchup and they were perfect! My husband ordered the Shrimp and grits. He said they were not too buttery, really great flavor with the bacon and shrimp. He also said that the dish didn't really need extra salt with the cheese added in the grits. He ate the whole plate! We had a wonderful experience at The Chimneys for brunch today. read more

I ate lunch at The Chimneys in celebration of my 80th birthday. The luncheon menu is extensive, and the wine list is equally impressive. I eat small portions, so I ordered a seafood-eggplant casserole from the Appetizer Menu for $11 and paired it with a Riesling for $7. It was delicious! read more
