I really don't have much to review. The ordering process was seamless. What drew me to the restaurant was the awesome pictures which titillated my taste buds. Unfortunately my experience wasn't the greatest. We ordered the shrimp fried rice, lo mein, and crab ragoon. The food arrived a decent temperature but it definitely lacked the taste that the pictures seemed to have. Maybe I'm partial to Thai food now, but really I don't want to try it again. read more

Wasn't quite sure what this place was about until I actually went inside. The menu is definitely fusion and there are some pretty interesting dishes on the menu. I went with the chicken lettuce wraps and the cod fish and chips. Originally I wanted to try the shrimp and lobster Mac n cheese, but the cashier kinda talked me out of it. I'm still interested to try it one day. Food came out fast, portions were good, presentation was good, and taste was actually really good. The place is very nice and clean. I've been to this place twice (I should have learned from the first time) and quality of the food was just not there. I had the beef with broccoli, my husband had General tso chicken, and they both were ok but overall "meh" as far as flavor. I Had it again recently and the meat looked old and tasted like gummy or something. Pretty gross to be honest. This will definitely be my last time going here. First time trying it out, and we are glad we did! Don't understand some of the negative ratings on portions. It's not 3 dinners worth, but way more than a single serving. The flavor and food quality was great as well. We had Sichuan chicken, sweet and sour chicken, wontons, pot stickers, spring rolls, and the kids cheeseburger roll. All of the entrees had well cooked meats and the vegetables were fresh, cut well, and cooked appropriately ( not overdone! ) . We will definitely be returning and hopefully in person soon! We tried The Chinese Neighbor tonight on suggestion from our neighborhood Facebook group. We arrived and there was just a short wait to order. However, once we placed our order and sat down to wait, we had to wait 30 minutes to get our food, with another 5-10 minutes for a kid's meal for our son. Our son is just over a year old, so it was pretty frustrating to have to wait so long to get our food at a "fast casual" type of restaurant. The food finally came (after the table next to us who arrived after we did were served) and the food was good. We had the brisket fried rice and HK Rice Noodles. We ordered chicken nuggets for our son which were basically tempura nuggets (but the batter was not fluffy like typically tempura). I was most disappointed by the poor service. It seemed that the front was being run by two inexperienced teenagers who looked like deer in the headlights when asked a question. They need to tighten up the kitchen workflow or something because the rate of their service will not be sustainable for their long term success. The staff never once apologized for the long wait - 10 minutes of waiting would have been fine, but 30 minutes with an antsy toddler is not okay. And it was not like it was standing room only. I would only give this place another chance if I was doing takeout and the food was ready when I got there to pick it up. If you're looking for something fast, this is not the place (at least not right now.) read more

We were excited to find a Chinese-fusion style place in the area, as we missed the one we used to go to in another state. Well this place delivered on every front so far. It's Covid time so we just got carry out and the food was amazing and tasty even after sitting in carry out boxes. We want to try so many other things on the menu so we will absolutely be back again. We were pleasantly surprised to find this place as we were shopping nearby, and enjoyed how they have their menu set up to allow variations on some simple selections that all four of us could enjoy. It loses a star on atmosphere basically. Food quality and flavor was definitely good! The wait time wasn't too bad considering it's all made to order. It all felt fresh and well prepared. We will come here again and try other items but we will get it to go because the atmosphere for dine in is just cold and non existent. Ordered via DoorDash.... had sweet and sour chicken, pork dumplings- it was really good! All white meat chicken breast and sauce was not goopy thick and syrupy. Dumplings cooked perfectly and seared just right. I'll definitely play on ordering more from them in the future and if you are in the area they are worthy of a try. read more

I ordered Chick Fried Rice and they were able to add pineapple. That was real treat. It is unusual for me to find a Chinese restaurant that will add pineapple. I thought the food was pretty good. It wasn't great, but I'm not sure Fried Rice can reach a Great rating. Its just too limited to be an option. The seating is limited, but given its location, I think you will not likely find many people visiting. The name does not suggest that this location is a restaurant and it is not near other restaurants, so it is likely to be scarcely populated. I would suggest you try it. It did not wow me, but given what I ordered, it would take a lot to really stand out. Since moving from California where there's a plethora of good Chinese cuisine, authentic dim sum houses, excellent hole-in-the-wall spots, and Chinatowns in San Francisco and Oakland, I've been on the hunt for good Chinese food in the DFW area. After trying this place, I'm still on the hunt. Just no. I was really bummed too as we had spent $80 in various dishes to get a good sense of their food. I would rather have Panda Express over this place. I'm confused on why this place has four stars?? So happy we found this place. Everything tastes so fresh. Their Mongolian beef, and sweet and sour chicken which was great, although the portions are a little on the smaller side and the Mongolian beef seemed to be 60% onions. The wontons in their wonton soup were a little overdone, but the soup itself was very good. We've also had their ramen a few times now and that is incredibly flavorful and the portions are generous. We've had their pot stickers a couple times and they were different shapes each time which makes me think they're made by hand in the restaurant. Takeout was just as good as dine in. I am in love with the Sichuan Shrimp. The shrimp are fresh, and big. The spice of the peppers at medium level is perfect. The lips numb and tingle during the meal, which is a good sign. The vegetables in the dish are crispy, yet cooked enough. We just got over Covid so I haven't had it for a about 3 weeks. Covid does a number on your taste buds for sure. New to Prosper & absolutely delicious!! So nice to finally have a great place close to home. Everything that I have ordered or tried has been terrific!! Kung Pao Beef is my absolute favorite! I ordered with chicken the other night and it was good but sticking with the Beef for next time. I'm really wanting to try the Salt & Pepper fish, so may do that instead.. Also really interested in trying Dan Dan Spaghetti-O's ??Chef is super nice guy & will go out if his way to serve you & make you happy. The Hong Kong rice noodles are a MUST TRY and the egg foo young is also amazing. This is not your average Chinese-American fast food place. I do not typically like Chinese food and will usually avoid it if possible, however, this place is my new favorite. Here's what you should know: 1. Order at counter, they bring your food to you 2. Restaurant is tiny, but I like it! 3. Yes, they have Pepsi products, get over it 4. Their hours are odd, check the hours before you go 5. The full menu is never available- have a few choices in mind before you order. I think all of the above add to the charm of this place. I've also had their potstickers & soup, both were very good. I had been looking forward to trying The Chinese Neighbor for a long time, but I have to say once I finally did, I was extremely disappointed at just about every turn. It's very difficult to give them anything more than a resounding, "meh". I will say, the high hopes looked good at first when placing the order online. A note about their curbside pickup pops up when entering their site. The menu looks really good, and there were several things we wanted to try. Also, unlike most other restaurants offering curbside pickup, you have the option to enter your billing info online, thereby minimizing contact even more. I placed my order at 6:00 on Saturday and was given a 6:35 pickup time. When I arrived at 6:35, there were a few other cars waiting. Like instructed, I called the number and was told that they were really busy, and my order might be around ten more mins. Ok, 6:45, I thought. Guess that's not too bad if the food is as good as everyone says. Well, 6:45 comes and goes...as does 6:50...6:55....and then 7:00. While I'm waiting, the other orders waiting come out. Also, there's 5-6 people who drive up, walk inside, and then leave a min or two later with their takeout orders. Not sure if my order was lost or what. Either that or people know to show up 25-30 mins after the time they're given. At 7:00, 25 mins after my pickup time, I call to see what's up. Oh, I'm packing it up now, the woman tells me. Great. Sure enough, it comes out a few mins later. I get home and start transferring the food. While it smells good, it's obvious the portions are really small. Including an order of the brisket fried rice, which really was the only impressive part of the meal, we had a total of five entrees for four people...plus spring rolls and Krab wontons as well. The sesame chicken was small and didn't have a ton of taste. The Mongolian beef was tasty but literally only had 6-7 slivers of meat...mostly onions and other stuff. The General Tso's looked like the sesame chicken (without the sesames) and really had very little sauce and nothing else, other than the three pieces of broccoli included for garnish. All in all, very small portions, nothing other than the brisket fried rice were that good, and $75 for Chinese takeout is way too much. Expectations were severely let down. I can't say going back here. Sorry, Prosper, but if this is what good Chinese food looks like up there, I'll stick with my options in Frisco and down south. read more

The 3 is really a 3.5 shouldn't seen as a negative on the food as I was testing place out at lunch. I got basic Mixed vegetables plate with steamed rice, they offered vegan gravy I passed. The food was tasty although I have never eaten a mixed veggie plate with celery and the pieces were long when I had a fork full all I could taste was the celery. The sauce was good , however tasted a little salty but I don't salt anything when I cook or add any when I eat out it could be normal and I'm just not used to it. Hostess was great checked on me and brought me extra rice when I requested. My main reason for only 3.5 stars is if your going to allow customers to refill their own drinks(i.e. soda machine) the tea/water dispensers should be accessible too we shouldn't have to ask for refills or for sugar/substitutes. read more
